Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 31:1 ============ Isa 31:1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!(nasb) Isa 31:1 [Væ qui descendunt in Ægyptum ad auxilium, in equis sperantes, et habentes fiduciam super quadrigis, quia multæ sunt; et super equitibus, quia prævalidi nimis; et non sunt confisi super Sanctum Israël, et Dominum non requisierunt!(vulgate) Isaías 31:1 ¡Ay de los que descienden a Egipto por ayuda, y confían en caballos; y ponen su esperanza en carros, porque [son] muchos, y en caballeros, porque son valientes; y no miran al Santo de Israel, ni buscan a Jehová!(E) Ésaïe 31:1 Malheur à ceux qui descendent en Egypte pour avoir du secours, Qui s'appuient sur des chevaux, Et se fient à la multitude des chars et à la force des cavaliers, Mais qui ne regardent pas vers le Saint d'Israël, Et ne recherchent pas l'Eternel!(F) Isa 31:1 Weh denen, die hinabziehen nach Ägypten um Hilfe und verlassen sich auf Rosse und hoffen auf Wagen, daß ihrer viel sind, und auf Reiter, darum daß sie sehr stark sind, und halten sich nicht zum Heiligen in Israel und fragen nichts nach dem HERRN!(D) Isa 31:1 οὐαὶ οἱ καταβαίνοντες εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐπὶ βοήθειαν οἱ ἐφ᾽ ἵπποις πεποιθότες καὶ ἐφ᾽ ἅρμασιν ἔστιν γὰρ πολλά καὶ ἐφ᾽ ἵπποις πλῆθος σφόδρα καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν πεποιθότες ἐπὶ τὸν ἅγιον τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ τὸν θεὸν οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν(lxx) Isa 31:1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:2 ============ Isa 31:2 Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster And does not retract His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers And against the help of the workers of iniquity.(nasb) Isa 31:2 Ipse autem sapiens adduxit malum, et verba sua non abstulit; et consurget contra domum pessimorum, et contra auxilium operantium iniquitatem.(vulgate) Isaías 31:2 Mas Él también [es] sabio, y traerá el mal, y no retirará sus palabras. Se levantará, pues, contra la casa de los malignos, y contra el auxilio de los obradores de iniquidad.(E) Ésaïe 31:2 Lui aussi, cependant, il est sage, il fait venir le malheur, Et ne retire point ses paroles; Il s'élève contre la maison des méchants, Et contre le secours de ceux qui commettent l'iniquité.(F) Isa 31:2 Er aber ist weise und bringt Unglück herzu und wendet seine Worte nicht, sondern wird sich aufmachen wider das Haus der Bösen und wider die Hilfe der Übeltäter.(D) Isa 31:2 καὶ αὐτὸς σοφὸς ἦγεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς κακά καὶ ὁ λόγος αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ἀθετηθῇ καὶ ἐπαναστήσεται ἐπ᾽ οἴκους ἀνθρώπων πονηρῶν καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ἐλπίδα αὐτῶν τὴν ματαίαν(lxx) Isa 31:2 Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, And will not call back His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers, And against the help of those who work iniquity.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:3 ============ Isa 31:3 Now the Egyptians are men and not God, And their horses are flesh and not spirit; So the Lord will stretch out His hand, And he who helps will stumble And he who is helped will fall, And all of them will come to an end together.(nasb) Isa 31:3 Ægyptus homo, et non deus; et equi eorum caro, et non spiritus; et Dominus inclinabit manum suam, et corruet auxiliator, et cadet cui præstatur auxilium, simulque omnes consumentur.(vulgate) Isaías 31:3 Y los egipcios hombres [son], y no Dios; y sus caballos carne, y no espíritu; de manera que al extender Jehová su mano, caerá el ayudador, y caerá el ayudado, y todos ellos desfallecerán a una.(E) Ésaïe 31:3 L'Egyptien est homme et non dieu; Ses chevaux sont chair et non esprit. Quand l'Eternel étendra sa main, Le protecteur chancellera, le protégé tombera, Et tous ensemble ils périront.(F) Isa 31:3 Denn Ägypten ist Mensch und nicht Gott, und ihre Rosse sind Fleisch und nicht Geist. Und der HERR wird seine Hand ausrecken, daß der Helfer strauchle und der, dem geholfen wird, falle und alle miteinander umkommen.(D) Isa 31:3 Αἰγύπτιον ἄνθρωπον καὶ οὐ θεόν ἵππων σάρκας καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν βοήθεια ὁ δὲ κύριος ἐπάξει τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς καὶ κοπιάσουσιν οἱ βοηθοῦντες καὶ ἅμα πάντες ἀπολοῦνται(lxx) Isa 31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out His hand, Both he who helps will fall, And he who is helped will fall down; They all will perish together.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:4 ============ Isa 31:4 For thus says the Lord to me, "As the lion or the young lion growls over his prey, Against which a band of shepherds is called out, And he will not be terrified at their voice nor disturbed at their noise, So will the Lord of hosts come down to wage war on Mount Zion and on its hill."(nasb) Isa 31:4 Quia hæc dicit Dominus ad me: Quomodo si rugiat leo et catulus leonis super prædam suam; et cum occurrerit ei multitudo pastorum, a voce eorum non formidabit, et a multitudine eorum non pavebit: sic descendet Dominus exercituum ut prælietur super montem Sion et super collem ejus.(vulgate) Isaías 31:4 Porque Jehová me dijo de esta manera: Como el león y el cachorro del león ruge sobre su presa, y si se reúne contra él cuadrilla de pastores, no se espantará de sus voces, ni se acobardará por el tropel de ellos; así Jehová de los ejércitos descenderá a pelear por el monte de Sión, y por su collado.(E) Ésaïe 31:4 Car ainsi m'a parlé l'Eternel: Comme le lion, comme le lionceau rugit sur sa proie, Et, malgré tous les bergers rassemblés contre lui, Ne se laisse ni effrayer par leur voix, Ni intimider par leur nombre; De même l'Eternel des armées descendra Pour combattre sur la montagne de Sion et sur sa colline.(F) Isa 31:4 Denn so spricht der HERR zu mir: Gleichwie ein Löwe und ein junger Löwe brüllt über seinen Raub, wenn der Hirten Menge ihn anschreit, so erschrickt er vor ihrem Geschrei nicht und ist ihm auch nicht leid vor ihrer Menge: also wird der HERR Zebaoth herniederfahren, zu streiten auf dem Berge Zion und auf seinem Hügel.(D) Isa 31:4 ὅτι οὕτως εἶπέν μοι κύριος ὃν τρόπον ἐὰν βοήσῃ ὁ λέων ἢ ὁ σκύμνος ἐπὶ τῇ θήρᾳ ᾗ ἔλαβεν καὶ κεκράξῃ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῇ ἕως ἂν ἐμπλησθῇ τὰ ὄρη τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡττήθησαν καὶ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ θυμοῦ ἐπτοήθησαν οὕτως καταβήσεται κύριος σαβαωθ ἐπιστρατεῦσαι ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σιων ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη αὐτῆς(lxx) Isa 31:4 For thus the Lord has spoken to me: "As a lion roars, And a young lion over his prey (When a multitude of shepherds is summoned against him, He will not be afraid of their voice Nor be disturbed by their noise), So the Lord of hosts will come down To fight for Mount Zion and for its hill.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:5 ============ Isa 31:5 Like flying birds so the Lord of hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it; He will pass over and rescue it.(nasb) Isa 31:5 Sicut aves volantes, sic proteget Dominus exercituum Jerusalem, protegens et liberans, transiens et salvans.(vulgate) Isaías 31:5 Como las aves que vuelan, así amparará Jehová de los ejércitos a Jerusalén, defendiendo, también la librará, pasando, la preservará.(E) Ésaïe 31:5 Comme des oiseaux déploient les ailes sur leur couvée, Ainsi l'Eternel des armées étendra sa protection sur Jérusalem; Il protégera et délivrera, Il épargnera et sauvera.(F) Isa 31:5 Und der HERR Zebaoth wird Jerusalem beschirmen, wie die Vögel tun mit Flügeln, schützen, erretten, darin umgehen und aushelfen.(D) Isa 31:5 ὡς ὄρνεα πετόμενα οὕτως ὑπερασπιεῖ κύριος ὑπὲρ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐξελεῖται καὶ περιποιήσεται καὶ σώσει(lxx) Isa 31:5 Like birds flying about, So will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem. Defending, He will also deliver it; Passing over, He will preserve it."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:6 ============ Isa 31:6 Return to Him from whom you have deeply defected, O sons of Israel.(nasb) Isa 31:6 Convertimini, sicut in profundum recesseratis, filii Israël.(vulgate) Isaías 31:6 Convertíos a [Aquél] contra quien los hijos de Israel profundamente se rebelaron.(E) Ésaïe 31:6 Revenez à celui dont on s'est profondément détourné, Enfants d'Israël!(F) Isa 31:6 Kehret um, ihr Kinder Israel, zu dem, von welchem ihr sehr abgewichen seid!(D) Isa 31:6 ἐπιστράφητε οἱ τὴν βαθεῖαν βουλὴν βουλευόμενοι καὶ ἄνομον(lxx) Isa 31:6 Return to Him against whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:7 ============ Isa 31:7 For in that day every man will cast away his silver idols and his gold idols, which your sinful hands have made for you as a sin.(nasb) Isa 31:7 In die enim illa abjiciet vir idola argenti sui, et idola auri sui, quæ fecerunt vobis manus vestræ in peccatum.(vulgate) Isaías 31:7 Porque en aquel día arrojará el hombre sus ídolos de plata, y sus ídolos de oro, que para vosotros han hecho vuestras manos pecadoras.(E) Ésaïe 31:7 En ce jour, chacun rejettera ses idoles d'argent et ses idoles d'or, Que vous vous êtes fabriquées de vos mains criminelles.(F) Isa 31:7 Denn zu der Zeit wird ein jeglicher seine silbernen und goldenen Götzen verwerfen, welche euch eure Hände gemacht hatten zur Sünde.(D) Isa 31:7 ὅτι τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀπαρνήσονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτῶν τὰ ἀργυρᾶ καὶ τὰ χρυσᾶ ἃ ἐποίησαν αἱ χεῖρες αὐτῶν(lxx) Isa 31:7 For in that day every man shall throw away his idols of silver and his idols of gold--sin, which your own hands have made for yourselves.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:8 ============ Isa 31:8 And the Assyrian will fall by a sword not of man, And a sword not of man will devour him. So he will not escape the sword, And his young men will become forced laborers.(nasb) Isa 31:8 Et cadet Assur in gladio non viri, et gladius non hominis vorabit eum: et fugiet non a facie gladii, et juvenes ejus vectigales erunt.(vulgate) Isaías 31:8 Entonces el asirio caerá a espada, no de varón; y lo consumirá espada, no de hombre; y huirá de la presencia de la espada, y sus jóvenes serán tributarios.(E) Ésaïe 31:8 Et l'Assyrien tombera sous un glaive qui n'est pas celui d'un homme, Et un glaive qui n'est pas celui d'un homme le dévorera; Il s'enfuira devant le glaive, Et ses jeunes guerriers seront asservis.(F) Isa 31:8 Und Assur soll fallen, nicht durch Mannes-Schwert, und soll verzehrt werden, nicht durch Menschen-Schwert, und wird doch vor dem Schwert fliehen, und seine junge Mannschaft wird zinsbar werden.(D) Isa 31:8 καὶ πεσεῖται Ασσουρ οὐ μάχαιρα ἀνδρὸς οὐδὲ μάχαιρα ἀνθρώπου καταφάγεται αὐτόν καὶ φεύξεται οὐκ ἀπὸ προσώπου μαχαίρας οἱ δὲ νεανίσκοι ἔσονται εἰς ἥττημα(lxx) Isa 31:8 "Then Assyria shall fall by a sword not of man, And a sword not of mankind shall devour him. But he shall flee from the sword, And his young men shall become forced labor.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 31:9 ============ Isa 31:9 "His rock will pass away because of panic, And his princes will be terrified at the standard," Declares the Lord, whose fire is in Zion and whose furnace is in Jerusalem.(nasb) Isa 31:9 Et fortitudo ejus a terrore transibit, et pavebunt fugientes principes ejus, dixit Dominus: cujus ignis est in Sion et caminus ejus in Jerusalem.](vulgate) Isaías 31:9 Y de miedo pasará a su fortaleza, y sus príncipes tendrán pavor de la bandera, dice Jehová, cuyo fuego [está] en Sión, y su horno en Jerusalén.(E) Ésaïe 31:9 Son rocher s'enfuira d'épouvante, Et ses chefs trembleront devant la bannière, Dit l'Eternel, qui a son feu dans Sion Et sa fournaise dans Jérusalem.(F) Isa 31:9 Und sein Fels wird vor Furcht wegziehen, und seine Fürsten werden vor dem Panier die Flucht geben, spricht der HERR, der zu Zion Feuer und zu Jerusalem einen Herd hat.(D) Isa 31:9 πέτρᾳ γὰρ περιλημφθήσονται ὡς χάρακι καὶ ἡττηθήσονται ὁ δὲ φεύγων ἁλώσεται τάδε λέγει κύριος μακάριος ὃς ἔχει ἐν Σιων σπέρμα καὶ οἰκείους ἐν Ιερουσαλημ(lxx) Isa 31:9 He shall cross over to his stronghold for fear, And his princes shall be afraid of the banner," Says the Lord, Whose fire is in Zion And whose furnace is in Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 32:1 ============ top of the page
