Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 34:1 ============ Isa 34:1 Draw near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.(nasb) Isa 34:1 [Accedite, gentes, et audite; et populi, attendite: audiat terra, et plenitudo ejus; orbis, et omne germen ejus.(vulgate) Isaías 34:1 Naciones, acercaos para oír; y escuchad, pueblos. Oiga la tierra y cuanto hay en ella, el mundo y todo lo que produce.(E) Ésaïe 34:1 Approchez, nations, pour entendre! Peuples, soyez attentifs! Que la terre écoute, elle et ce qui la remplit, Le monde et tout ce qu'il produit!(F) Isa 34:1 Kommt herzu, ihr Heiden, und höret, ihr Völker, merkt auf! Die Erde höre zu und was darinnen ist, der Weltkreis samt seinem Gewächs!(D) Isa 34:1 προσαγάγετε ἔθνη καὶ ἀκούσατε ἄρχοντες ἀκουσάτω ἡ γῆ καὶ οἱ ἐν αὐτῇ ἡ οἰκουμένη καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὁ ἐν αὐτῇ(lxx) Isa 34:1 Come near, you nations, to hear; And heed, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, The world and all things that come forth from it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:2 ============ Isa 34:2 For the Lord's indignation is against all the nations, And His wrath against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to slaughter.(nasb) Isa 34:2 Quia indignatio Domini super omnes gentes, et furor super universam militiam eorum: interfecit eos, et dedit eos in occisionem.(vulgate) Isaías 34:2 Porque la indignación de Jehová [es] contra todas las naciones, y [su] furor contra todos [sus] ejércitos: Las ha destruido por completo, las ha entregado al matadero.(E) Ésaïe 34:2 Car la colère de l'Eternel va fondre sur toutes les nations, Et sa fureur sur toute leur armée: Il les voue à l'extermination, Il les livre au carnage.(F) Isa 34:2 Denn der HERR ist zornig über alle Heiden und grimmig über all ihr Heer. Er wird sie verbannen und zum Schlachten überantworten.(D) Isa 34:2 διότι θυμὸς κυρίου ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη καὶ ὀργὴ ἐπὶ τὸν ἀριθμὸν αὐτῶν τοῦ ἀπολέσαι αὐτοὺς καὶ παραδοῦναι αὐτοὺς εἰς σφαγήν(lxx) Isa 34:2 For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:3 ============ Isa 34:3 So their slain will be thrown out, And their corpses will give off their stench, And the mountains will be drenched with their blood.(nasb) Isa 34:3 Interfecti eorum projicientur, et de cadaveribus eorum ascendet fœtor; tabescent montes a sanguine eorum.(vulgate) Isaías 34:3 Y los muertos de ellas serán arrojados, y de sus cadáveres se levantará hedor; y los montes se disolverán por la sangre de ellos.(E) Ésaïe 34:3 Leurs morts sont jetés, Leurs cadavres exhalent la puanteur, Et les montagnes se fondent dans leur sang.(F) Isa 34:3 Und ihre Erschlagenen werden hingeworfen werden, daß der Gestank von ihren Leichnamen aufgehen wird und die Berge von ihrem Blut fließen.(D) Isa 34:3 οἱ δὲ τραυματίαι αὐτῶν ῥιφήσονται καὶ οἱ νεκροί καὶ ἀναβήσεται αὐτῶν ἡ ὀσμή καὶ βραχήσεται τὰ ὄρη ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῶν(lxx) Isa 34:3 Also their slain shall be thrown out; Their stench shall rise from their corpses, And the mountains shall be melted with their blood.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:4 ============ Isa 34:4 And all the host of heaven will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree.(nasb) Isa 34:4 Et tabescet omnis militia cælorum, et complicabuntur sicut liber cæli: et omnis militia eorum defluet, sicut defluit folium de vinea et de ficu.(vulgate) Isaías 34:4 Y todo el ejército del cielo se disolverá, y se enrollarán los cielos como un pergamino; y caerá todo su ejército, como se cae la hoja de la parra, y como se cae [el higo] de la higuera.(E) Ésaïe 34:4 Toute l'armée des cieux se dissout; Les cieux sont roulés comme un livre, Et toute leur armée tombe, Comme tombe la feuille de la vigne, Comme tombe celle du figuier.(F) Isa 34:4 Und wird alles Heer des Himmels verfaulen, und der Himmel wird zusammengerollt werden wie ein Buch, und all sein Heer wird verwelken, wie ein Blatt verwelkt am Weinstock und wie ein dürres Blatt am Feigenbaum.(D) Isa 34:4 καὶ ἑλιγήσεται ὁ οὐρανὸς ὡς βιβλίον καὶ πάντα τὰ ἄστρα πεσεῖται ὡς φύλλα ἐξ ἀμπέλου καὶ ὡς πίπτει φύλλα ἀπὸ συκῆς(lxx) Isa 34:4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, And the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll; All their host shall fall down As the leaf falls from the vine, And as fruit falling from a fig tree.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:5 ============ Isa 34:5 For My sword is satiated in heaven, Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom And upon the people whom I have devoted to destruction.(nasb) Isa 34:5 Quoniam inebriatus est in cælo gladius meus; ecce super Idumæam descendet, et super populum interfectionis meæ, ad judicium.(vulgate) Isaías 34:5 Porque mi espada se embriagará en el cielo; he aquí que descenderá sobre Edom, y sobre el pueblo de mi anatema, para juicio.(E) Ésaïe 34:5 Mon épée s'est enivrée dans les cieux; Voici, elle va descendre sur Edom, Sur le peuple que j'ai voué à l'extermination, pour le châtier.(F) Isa 34:5 Denn mein Schwert ist trunken im Himmel; und siehe, es wird herniederfahren auf Edom und über das verbannte Volk zur Strafe.(D) Isa 34:5 ἐμεθύσθη ἡ μάχαιρά μου ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἰδοὺ ἐπὶ τὴν Ιδουμαίαν καταβήσεται καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τῆς ἀπωλείας μετὰ κρίσεως(lxx) Isa 34:5 "For My sword shall be bathed in heaven; Indeed it shall come down on Edom, And on the people of My curse, for judgment.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:6 ============ Isa 34:6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, It is sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.(nasb) Isa 34:6 Gladius Domini repletus est sanguine, incrassatus est adipe, de sanguine agnorum et hircorum, de sanguine medullatorum arietum: victima enim Domini in Bosra, et interfectio magna in terra Edom.(vulgate) Isaías 34:6 Llena está de sangre la espada de Jehová, engrasada está de grosura, de sangre de corderos y de machos cabríos, de grosura de riñones de carneros; porque Jehová tiene sacrificios en Bosra, y grande matanza en la tierra de Edom.(E) Ésaïe 34:6 L'épée de l'Eternel est pleine de sang, couverte de graisse, Du sang des agneaux et des boucs, De la graisse des reins des béliers; Car il y a des victimes de l'Eternel à Botsra, Et un grand carnage dans le pays d'Edom,(F) Isa 34:6 Des HERRN Schwert ist voll Blut und dick von Fett, vom Blut der Lämmer und Böcke, von der Nieren Fett aus den Widdern; denn der HERR hält ein Schlachten zu Bozra und ein großes Würgen im Lande Edom.(D) Isa 34:6 ἡ μάχαιρα κυρίου ἐνεπλήσθη αἵματος ἐπαχύνθη ἀπὸ στέατος ἀρνῶν καὶ ἀπὸ στέατος τράγων καὶ κριῶν ὅτι θυσία κυρίῳ ἐν Βοσορ καὶ σφαγὴ μεγάλη ἐν τῇ Ιδουμαίᾳ(lxx) Isa 34:6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, It is made overflowing with fatness, With the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. Denn ihr Land wird trunken werden von Blut und ihre Erde dick werden von Fett.(D) Isa 34:7 καὶ συμπεσοῦνται οἱ ἁδροὶ μετ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ κριοὶ καὶ οἱ ταῦροι καὶ μεθυσθήσεται ἡ γῆ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ στέατος αὐτῶν ἐμπλησθήσεται(lxx) Isa 34:7 The wild oxen shall come down with them, And the young bulls with the mighty bulls; Their land shall be soaked with blood, And their dust saturated with fatness."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:8 ============ Isa 34:8 For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of recompense for the cause of Zion.(nasb) Isa 34:8 Quia dies ultionis Domini, annus retributionum judicii Sion.(vulgate) Isaías 34:8 Porque [es] día de venganza de Jehová, año de retribuciones en el pleito de Sión.(E) Ésaïe 34:8 Car c'est un jour de vengeance pour l'Eternel, Une année de représailles pour la cause de Sion.(F) Isa 34:8 Denn das ist der Tag der Rache des HERRN und das Jahr der Vergeltung, zu rächen Zion.(D) Isa 34:8 ἡμέρα γὰρ κρίσεως κυρίου καὶ ἐνιαυτὸς ἀνταποδόσεως κρίσεως Σιων(lxx) Isa 34:8 For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:9 ============ Isa 34:9 Its streams will be turned into pitch, And its loose earth into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch.(nasb) Isa 34:9 Et convertentur torrentes ejus in picem, et humus ejus in sulphur; et erit terra ejus in picem ardentem.(vulgate) Isaías 34:9 Y sus arroyos se tornarán en brea, y su polvo en azufre, y su tierra en brea ardiente.(E) Ésaïe 34:9 Les torrents d'Edom seront changés en poix, Et sa poussière en soufre; Et sa terre sera comme de la poix qui brûle.(F) Isa 34:9 Da werden Edoms Bäche zu Pech werden und seine Erde zu Schwefel; ja sein Land wird zu brennendem Pech werden,(D) Isa 34:9 καὶ στραφήσονται αὐτῆς αἱ φάραγγες εἰς πίσσαν καὶ ἡ γῆ αὐτῆς εἰς θεῖον καὶ ἔσται αὐτῆς ἡ γῆ καιομένη ὡς πίσσα(lxx) Isa 34:9 Its streams shall be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone; Its land shall become burning pitch.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:10 ============ Isa 34:10 It will not be quenched night or day; Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation it will be desolate; None will pass through it forever and ever.(nasb) Isa 34:10 Nocte et die non extinguetur, in sempiternum ascendet fumus ejus, a generatione in generationem desolabitur, in sæcula sæculorum non erit transiens per eam.(vulgate) Isaías 34:10 No se apagará de noche ni de día, perpetuamente subirá su humo; de generación en generación será asolada, nunca jamás pasará nadie por ella.(E) Ésaïe 34:10 Elle ne s'éteindra ni jour ni nuit, La fumée s'en élèvera éternellement; D'âge en âge elle sera désolée, A tout jamais personne n'y passera.(F) Isa 34:10 das weder Jahr noch Tag verlöschen wird, sondern ewiglich wird Rauch von ihm aufgehen; und es wird für und für wüst sein, daß niemand dadurchgehen wird in Ewigkeit;(D) Isa 34:10 νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὁ καπνὸς αὐτῆς ἄνω εἰς γενεὰς ἐρημωθήσεται καὶ εἰς χρόνον πολύν(lxx) Isa 34:10 It shall not be quenched night or day; Its smoke shall ascend forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste; No one shall pass through it forever and ever.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:11 ============ Isa 34:11 But pelican and hedgehog will possess it, And owl and raven will dwell in it; And He will stretch over it the line of desolation And the plumb line of emptiness.(nasb) Isa 34:11 Et possidebunt illam onocrotalus et ericius; ibis et corvus habitabunt in ea: et extendetur super eam mensura, ut redigatur ad nihilum, et perpendiculum in desolationem.(vulgate) Isaías 34:11 Y la poseerán el pelícano y el erizo, el búho y el cuervo morarán en ella; y se extenderá sobre ella cordel de destrucción, y plomada de asolamiento.(E) Ésaïe 34:11 Le pélican et le hérisson la posséderont, La chouette et le corbeau l'habiteront. On y étendra le cordeau de la désolation, Et le niveau de la destruction.(F) Isa 34:11 sondern Rohrdommeln und Igel werden's innehaben, Nachteulen und Raben werden daselbst wohnen. Denn er wird eine Meßschnur darüber ziehen, daß es wüst werde, und ein Richtblei, daß es öde sei,(D) Isa 34:11 καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν αὐτῇ ὄρνεα καὶ ἐχῖνοι καὶ ἴβεις καὶ κόρακες καὶ ἐπιβληθήσεται ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν σπαρτίον γεωμετρίας ἐρήμου καὶ ὀνοκένταυροι οἰκήσουσιν ἐν αὐτῇ(lxx) Isa 34:11 But the pelican and the porcupine shall possess it, Also the owl and the raven shall dwell in it. And He shall stretch out over it The line of confusion and the stones of emptiness.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:12 ============ Isa 34:12 Its nobles--there is no one there Whom they may proclaim king-- And all its princes will be nothing.(nasb) Isa 34:12 Nobiles ejus non erunt ibi; regem potius invocabunt, et omnes principes ejus erunt in nihilum.(vulgate) Isaías 34:12 Llamarán a sus nobles para el reino, pero no [habrá] nadie allí, y todos sus príncipes serán nada.(E) Ésaïe 34:12 Il n'y aura plus de grands pour proclamer un roi, Tous ses princes seront anéantis.(F) Isa 34:12 daß seine Herren heißen müssen Herren ohne Land und alle seine Fürsten ein Ende haben;(D) Isa 34:12 οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῆς οὐκ ἔσονται οἱ γὰρ βασιλεῖς αὐτῆς καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῆς καὶ οἱ μεγιστᾶνες αὐτῆς ἔσονται εἰς ἀπώλειαν(lxx) Isa 34:12 They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, But none shall be there, and all its princes shall be nothing.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:13 ============ Isa 34:13 Thorns will come up in its fortified towers, Nettles and thistles in its fortified cities; It will also be a haunt of jackals And an abode of ostriches.(nasb) Isa 34:13 Et orientur in domibus ejus spinæ et urticæ, et paliurus in munitionibus ejus; et erit cubile draconum, et pascua struthionum.(vulgate) Isaías 34:13 En sus palacios crecerán espinos, y ortigas y cardos en sus fortalezas; y serán guarida de dragones y patio para los búhos.(E) Ésaïe 34:13 Les épines croîtront dans ses palais, Les ronces et les chardons dans ses forteresses. Ce sera la demeure des chacals, Le repaire des autruches;(F) Isa 34:13 und werden Dornen wachsen in seinen Palästen, Nesseln und Disteln in seinen Schlössern; und es wird eine Behausung sein der Schakale und Weide für die Strauße.(D) Isa 34:13 καὶ ἀναφύσει εἰς τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν ἀκάνθινα ξύλα καὶ εἰς τὰ ὀχυρώματα αὐτῆς καὶ ἔσται ἔπαυλις σειρήνων καὶ αὐλὴ στρουθῶν(lxx) Isa 34:13 And thorns shall come up in its palaces, Nettles and brambles in its fortresses; It shall be a habitation of jackals, A courtyard for ostriches.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:14 ============ Isa 34:14 The desert creatures will meet with the wolves, The hairy goat also will cry to its kind; Yes, the night monster will settle there And will find herself a resting place.(nasb) Isa 34:14 Et occurrent dæmonia onocentauris, et pilosus clamabit alter ad alterum; ibi cubavit lamia, et invenit sibi requiem.(vulgate) Isaías 34:14 Las fieras del desierto se encontrarán con las hienas, y la cabra del monte gritará a su compañero; la lechuza también tendrá allí morada, y hallará para sí lugar de reposo.(E) Ésaïe 34:14 Les animaux du désert y rencontreront les chiens sauvages, Et les boucs s'y appelleront les uns les autres; Là le spectre de la nuit aura sa demeure, Et trouvera son lieu de repos;(F) Isa 34:14 Da werden untereinander laufen Wüstentiere und wilde Hunde, und ein Feldteufel wird dem andern begegnen; der Kobold wird auch daselbst herbergen und seine Ruhe daselbst finden.(D) Isa 34:14 καὶ συναντήσουσιν δαιμόνια ὀνοκενταύροις καὶ βοήσουσιν ἕτερος πρὸς τὸν ἕτερον ἐκεῖ ἀναπαύσονται ὀνοκένταυροι εὗρον γὰρ αὑτοῖς ἀνάπαυσιν(lxx) Isa 34:14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals, And the wild goat shall bleat to its companion; Also the night creature shall rest there, And find for herself a place of rest.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:15 ============ Isa 34:15 The tree snake will make its nest and lay eggs there, And it will hatch and gather them under its protection. Yes, the hawks will be gathered there, Every one with its kind.(nasb) Isa 34:15 Ibi habuit foveam ericius, et enutrivit catulos, et circumfodit, et fovit in umbra ejus; illuc congregati sunt milvi, alter ad alterum.(vulgate) Isaías 34:15 Allí anidará el búho real, pondrá [sus huevos] y sacará sus pollos y los juntará debajo de sus alas; también se juntarán allí los buitres, cada uno con su compañera.(E) Ésaïe 34:15 Là le serpent fera son nid, déposera ses oeufs, Les couvera, et recueillera ses petits à son ombre; Là se rassembleront tous les vautours.(F) Isa 34:15 Die Natter wird auch daselbst nisten und legen, brüten und aushecken unter seinem Schatten; auch werden die Weihen daselbst zusammenkommen.(D) Isa 34:15 ἐκεῖ ἐνόσσευσεν ἐχῖνος καὶ ἔσωσεν ἡ γῆ τὰ παιδία αὐτῆς μετὰ ἀσφαλείας ἐκεῖ ἔλαφοι συνήντησαν καὶ εἶδον τὰ πρόσωπα ἀλλήλων(lxx) Isa 34:15 There the arrow snake shall make her nest and lay eggs And hatch, and gather them under her shadow; There also shall the hawks be gathered, Every one with her mate.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:16 ============ Isa 34:16 Seek from the book of the Lord, and read: Not one of these will be missing; None will lack its mate. For His mouth has commanded, And His Spirit has gathered them.(nasb) Isa 34:16 Requirite diligenter in libro Domini, et legite: Unum ex eis non defuit, alter alterum non quæsivit; quia quod ex ore meo procedit, ille mandavit, et spiritus ejus ipse congregavit ea.(vulgate) Isaías 34:16 Inquirid en el libro de Jehová, y leed si faltó alguno de ellos; ninguno faltó con su compañera; porque su boca mandó y los reunió su mismo Espíritu.(E) Ésaïe 34:16 Consultez le livre de l'Eternel, et lisez! Aucun d'eux ne fera défaut, Ni l'un ni l'autre ne manqueront; Car sa bouche l'a ordonné. C'est son esprit qui les rassemblera.(F) Isa 34:16 Suchet nun in dem Buch des HERRN und leset! es wird nicht an einem derselben fehlen; man vermißt auch nicht dies noch das. Denn er ist's, der durch meinen Mund gebeut, und sein Geist ist's, der es zusammenbringt.(D) Isa 34:16 ἀριθμῷ παρῆλθον καὶ μία αὐτῶν οὐκ ἀπώλετο ἑτέρα τὴν ἑτέραν οὐκ ἐζήτησαν ὅτι κύριος ἐνετείλατο αὐτοῖς καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ συνήγαγεν αὐτάς(lxx) Isa 34:16 "Search from the book of the Lord, and read: Not one of these shall fail; Not one shall lack her mate. For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 34:17 ============ Isa 34:17 He has cast the lot for them, And His hand has divided it to them by line. They shall possess it forever; From generation to generation they will dwell in it.(nasb) Isa 34:17 Et ipse misit eis sortem, et manus ejus divisit eam illis in mensuram: usque in æternum possidebunt eam; in generationem et generationem habitabunt in ea.](vulgate) Isaías 34:17 Y Él les echó las suertes, y su mano les repartió con cordel; para siempre la tendrán por heredad; de generación en generación morarán allí.(E) Ésaïe 34:17 Il a jeté pour eux le sort, Et sa main leur a partagé cette terre au cordeau, Ils la posséderont toujours, Ils l'habiteront d'âge en âge.(F) Isa 34:17 Er wirft das Los für sie, und seine Hand teilt das Maß aus unter sie, daß sie darin erben ewiglich und darin bleiben für und für.(D) Isa 34:17 καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπιβαλεῖ αὐτοῖς κλήρους καὶ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ διεμέρισεν βόσκεσθαι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον κληρονομήσετε εἰς γενεὰς γενεῶν ἀναπαύσονται ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς(lxx) Isa 34:17 He has cast the lot for them, And His hand has divided it among them with a measuring line.
