Today's Date: ======= Isaiah 58:1 ============ Isa 58:1 "Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their transgression And to the house of Jacob their sins.(nasb) Isa 58:1 [Clama, ne cesses, quasi tuba exalta vocem tuam, et annuntia populo meo scelera eorum, et domui Jacob peccata eorum.(vulgate) Isaías 58:1 Clama a voz en cuello, no te detengas; alza tu voz como trompeta, y anuncia a mi pueblo su rebelión, y a la casa de Jacob su pecado.(E) Ésaïe 58:1 Crie à plein gosier, ne te retiens pas, Elève ta voix comme une trompette, Et annonce à mon peuple ses iniquités, A la maison de Jacob ses péchés!(F) Isa 58:1 Rufe getrost, schone nicht, erhebe deine Stimme wie eine Posaune und verkündige meinem Volk ihr Übertreten und dem Hause Jakob ihre Sünden.(D) Isa 58:1 ἀναβόησον ἐν ἰσχύι καὶ μὴ φείσῃ ὡς σάλπιγγα ὕψωσον τὴν φωνήν σου καὶ ἀνάγγειλον τῷ λαῷ μου τὰ ἁμαρτήματα αὐτῶν καὶ τῷ οἴκῳ Ιακωβ τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτῶν(lxx) Isa 58:1 "Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:2 ============ Isa 58:2 "Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God. They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God.(nasb) Isa 58:2 Me etenim de die in diem quærunt, et scire vias meas volunt, quasi gens quæ justitiam fecerit, et judicium Dei sui non dereliquerit. Rogant me judicia justitiæ; appropinquare Deo volunt.(vulgate) Isaías 58:2 Que me buscan cada día, y quieren saber mis caminos, como gente que hubiese obrado justicia, y que no hubiese dejado la ley de su Dios; me piden justos juicios, y quieren acercarse a Dios.(E) Ésaïe 58:2 Tous les jours ils me cherchent, Ils veulent connaître mes voies; Comme une nation qui aurait pratiqué la justice Et n'aurait pas abandonné la loi de son Dieu, Ils me demandent des arrêts de justice, Ils désirent l'approche de Dieu. -(F) Isa 58:2 Sie suchen mich täglich und wollen meine Wege wissen wie ein Volk, das Gerechtigkeit schon getan und das Recht ihres Gottes nicht verlassen hätte. Sie fordern mich zu Recht und wollen mit ihrem Gott rechten.(D) Isa 58:2 ἐμὲ ἡμέραν ἐξ ἡμέρας ζητοῦσιν καὶ γνῶναί μου τὰς ὁδοὺς ἐπιθυμοῦσιν ὡς λαὸς δικαιοσύνην πεποιηκὼς καὶ κρίσιν θεοῦ αὐτοῦ μὴ ἐγκαταλελοιπὼς αἰτοῦσίν με νῦν κρίσιν δικαίαν καὶ ἐγγίζειν θεῷ ἐπιθυμοῦσιν(lxx) Isa 58:2 Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:3 ============ Isa 58:3 'Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?'Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And drive hard all your workers.(nasb) Isa 58:3 Quare jejunavimus, et non aspexisti; humiliavimus animas nostras, et nescisti? Ecce in die jejunii vestri invenitur voluntas vestra, et omnes debitores vestros repetitis.(vulgate) Isaías 58:3 [Dicen]: ¿Por qué ayunamos, y tú no lo ves? ¿[Por qué] humillamos nuestras almas, y tú no te das por entendido? He aquí que en el día de vuestro ayuno halláis placer, y oprimís a todos vuestros obreros.(E) Ésaïe 58:3 Que nous sert de jeûner, si tu ne le vois pas? De mortifier notre âme, si tu n'y as point égard? -Voici, le jour de votre jeûne, vous vous livrez à vos penchants, Et vous traitez durement tous vos mercenaires.(F) Isa 58:3 "Warum fasten wir, und du siehst es nicht an? Warum tun wir unserm Leibe wehe, und du willst's nicht wissen?" Siehe, wenn ihr fastet, so übt ihr doch euren Willen und treibt alle eure Arbeiter.(D) Isa 58:3 λέγοντες τί ὅτι ἐνηστεύσαμεν καὶ οὐκ εἶδες ἐταπεινώσαμεν τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν καὶ οὐκ ἔγνως ἐν γὰρ ταῖς ἡμέραις τῶν νηστειῶν ὑμῶν εὑρίσκετε τὰ θελήματα ὑμῶν καὶ πάντας τοὺς ὑποχειρίους ὑμῶν ὑπονύσσετε(lxx) Isa 58:3 'Why have we fasted,' they say, 'and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?' "In fact, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, And exploit all your laborers.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:4 ============ Isa 58:4 "Behold, you fast for contention and strife and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high.(nasb) Isa 58:4 Ecce ad lites et contentiones jejunatis, et percutitis pugno impie. Nolite jejunare sicut usque ad hanc diem, ut audiatur in excelso clamor vester.(vulgate) Isaías 58:4 He aquí que para contiendas y debates ayunáis, y para herir con el puño inicuamente; no ayunéis como hoy, para que vuestra voz sea oída en lo alto.(E) Ésaïe 58:4 Voici, vous jeûnez pour disputer et vous quereller, Pour frapper méchamment du poing; Vous ne jeûnez pas comme le veut ce jour, Pour que votre voix soit entendue en haut.(F) Isa 58:4 Siehe, ihr fastet, daß ihr hadert und zanket und schlaget mit gottloser Faust. Wie ihr jetzt tut, fastet ihr nicht also, daß eure Stimme in der Höhe gehört würde.(D) Isa 58:4 εἰ εἰς κρίσεις καὶ μάχας νηστεύετε καὶ τύπτετε πυγμαῖς ταπεινόν ἵνα τί μοι νηστεύετε ὡς σήμερον ἀκουσθῆναι ἐν κραυγῇ τὴν φωνὴν ὑμῶν(lxx) Isa 58:4 Indeed you fast for strife and debate, And to strike with the fist of wickedness. You will not fast as you do this day, To make your voice heard on high.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:5 ============ Isa 58:5 "Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one's head like a reed And for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord?(nasb) Isa 58:5 Numquid tale est jejunium quod elegi, per diem affligere hominem animam suam? numquid contorquere quasi circulum caput suum, et saccum et cinerem sternere? numquid istud vocabis jejunium, et diem acceptabilem Domino?]~(vulgate) Isaías 58:5 ¿Es tal el ayuno que yo escogí, que de día aflija el hombre su alma, que encorve su cabeza como junco, y haga cama de cilicio y de ceniza? ¿Llamaréis a esto ayuno y día agradable a Jehová?(E) Ésaïe 58:5 Est-ce là le jeûne auquel je prends plaisir, Un jour où l'homme humilie son âme? Courber la tête comme un jonc, Et se coucher sur le sac et la cendre, Est-ce là ce que tu appelleras un jeûne, Un jour agréable à l'Eternel?(F) Isa 58:5 Sollte das ein Fasten sein, das ich erwählen soll, daß ein Mensch seinem Leibe des Tages übel tue oder seinen Kopf hänge wie ein Schilf oder auf einem Sack und in der Asche liege? Wollt ihr das ein Fasten nennen und einen Tag, dem HERRN angenehm?(D) Isa 58:5 οὐ ταύτην τὴν νηστείαν ἐξελεξάμην καὶ ἡμέραν ταπεινοῦν ἄνθρωπον τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ οὐδ᾽ ἂν κάμψῃς ὡς κρίκον τὸν τράχηλόν σου καὶ σάκκον καὶ σποδὸν ὑποστρώσῃ οὐδ᾽ οὕτως καλέσετε νηστείαν δεκτήν(lxx) Isa 58:5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the Lord?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:6 ============ Isa 58:6 "Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke?(nasb) Isa 58:6 [Nonne hoc est magis jejunium quod elegi? Dissolve colligationes impietatis, solve fasciculos deprimentes, dimitte eos qui confracti sunt liberos, et omne opus dirumpe;(vulgate) Isaías 58:6 ¿No [es] más bien el ayuno que yo escogí, desatar las ligaduras de impiedad, quitar las pesadas cargas, y dejar ir libres a los quebrantados, y que rompáis todo yugo?(E) Ésaïe 58:6 Voici le jeûne auquel je prends plaisir: Détache les chaînes de la méchanceté, Dénoue les liens de la servitude, Renvoie libres les opprimés, Et que l'on rompe toute espèce de joug;(F) Isa 58:6 Das ist aber ein Fasten, das ich erwähle: Laß los, welche du mit Unrecht gebunden hast; laß ledig, welche du beschwerst; gib frei, welche du drängst; reiß weg allerlei Last;(D) Isa 58:6 οὐχὶ τοιαύτην νηστείαν ἐγὼ ἐξελεξάμην λέγει κύριος ἀλλὰ λῦε πάντα σύνδεσμον ἀδικίας διάλυε στραγγαλιὰς βιαίων συναλλαγμάτων ἀπόστελλε τεθραυσμένους ἐν ἀφέσει καὶ πᾶσαν συγγραφὴν ἄδικον διάσπα(lxx) Isa 58:6 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:7 ============ Isa 58:7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?(nasb) Isa 58:7 frange esurienti panem tuum, et egenos vagosque induc in domum tuam; cum videris nudum, operi eum, et carnem tuam ne despexeris.(vulgate) Isaías 58:7 ¿No [es] que compartas tu pan con el hambriento, y a los pobres errantes metas en casa; que cuando vieres al desnudo, lo cubras, y no te escondas de tu propia carne?(E) Ésaïe 58:7 Partage ton pain avec celui qui a faim, Et fais entrer dans ta maison les malheureux sans asile; Si tu vois un homme nu, couvre-le, Et ne te détourne pas de ton semblable.(F) Isa 58:7 brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot, und die, so im Elend sind, führe ins Haus; so du einen nackt siehst, so kleide ihn, und entzieh dich nicht von deinem Fleisch.(D) Isa 58:7 διάθρυπτε πεινῶντι τὸν ἄρτον σου καὶ πτωχοὺς ἀστέγους εἴσαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου ἐὰν ἴδῃς γυμνόν περίβαλε καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν οἰκείων τοῦ σπέρματός σου οὐχ ὑπερόψῃ(lxx) Isa 58:7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:8 ============ Isa 58:8 "Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.(nasb) Isa 58:8 Tunc erumpet quasi mane lumen tuum; et sanitas tua citius orietur, et anteibit faciem tuam justitia tua, et gloria Domini colliget te.(vulgate) Isaías 58:8 Entonces nacerá tu luz como el alba, y tu sanidad se dejará ver pronto; e irá tu justicia delante de ti, y la gloria de Jehová será tu retaguardia.(E) Ésaïe 58:8 Alors ta lumière poindra comme l'aurore, Et ta guérison germera promptement; Ta justice marchera devant toi, Et la gloire de l'Eternel t'accompagnera.(F) Isa 58:8 Alsdann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie die Morgenröte, und deine Besserung wird schnell wachsen, und deine Gerechtigkeit wird vor dir hergehen, und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN wird dich zu sich nehmen.(D) Isa 58:8 τότε ῥαγήσεται πρόιμον τὸ φῶς σου καὶ τὰ ἰάματά σου ταχὺ ἀνατελεῖ καὶ προπορεύσεται ἔμπροσθέν σου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου καὶ ἡ δόξα τοῦ θεοῦ περιστελεῖ σε(lxx) Isa 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:9 ============ Isa 58:9 "Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness,(nasb) Isa 58:9 Tunc invocabis, et Dominus exaudiet; clamabis, et dicet: Ecce adsum. Si abstuleris de medio tui catenam, et desieris extendere digitum et loqui quod non prodest;(vulgate) Isaías 58:9 Entonces invocarás, y te oirá Jehová; clamarás, y dirá Él: Heme aquí. Si quitares de en medio de ti el yugo, el extender el dedo, y hablar vanidad;(E) Ésaïe 58:9 Alors tu appelleras, et l'Eternel répondra; Tu crieras, et il dira: Me voici! Si tu éloignes du milieu de toi le joug, Les gestes menaçants et les discours injurieux,(F) Isa 58:9 Dann wirst du rufen, so wird dir der HERR antworten; wenn du wirst schreien, wird er sagen: Siehe, hier bin ich. So du niemand bei dir beschweren wirst noch mit dem Fingern zeigen noch übel reden(D) Isa 58:9 τότε βοήσῃ καὶ ὁ θεὸς εἰσακούσεταί σου ἔτι λαλοῦντός σου ἐρεῖ ἰδοὺ πάρειμι ἐὰν ἀφέλῃς ἀπὸ σοῦ σύνδεσμον καὶ χειροτονίαν καὶ ῥῆμα γογγυσμοῦ(lxx) Isa 58:9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.' "If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:10 ============ Isa 58:10 And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.(nasb) Isa 58:10 cum effuderis esurienti animam tuam, et animam afflictam repleveris, orietur in tenebris lux tua, et tenebræ tuæ erunt sicut meridies.(vulgate) Isaías 58:10 Y si derramares tu alma al hambriento, y saciares al alma afligida, en las tinieblas nacerá tu luz, y tu oscuridad [será] como el mediodía.(E) Ésaïe 58:10 Si tu donnes ta propre subsistance à celui qui a faim, Si tu rassasies l'âme indigente, Ta lumière se lèvera sur l'obscurité, Et tes ténèbres seront comme le midi.(F) Isa 58:10 und wirst den Hungrigen lassen finden dein Herz und die elende Seele sättigen: so wird dein Licht in der Finsternis aufgehen, und dein Dunkel wird sein wie der Mittag;(D) Isa 58:10 καὶ δῷς πεινῶντι τὸν ἄρτον ἐκ ψυχῆς σου καὶ ψυχὴν τεταπεινωμένην ἐμπλήσῃς τότε ἀνατελεῖ ἐν τῷ σκότει τὸ φῶς σου καὶ τὸ σκότος σου ὡς μεσημβρία(lxx) Isa 58:10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:11 ============ Isa 58:11 "And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.(nasb) Isa 58:11 Et requiem tibi dabit Dominus semper, et implebit splendoribus animam tuam, et ossa tua liberabit; et eris quasi hortus irriguus, et sicut fons aquarum cujus non deficient aquæ.(vulgate) Isaías 58:11 Y Jehová te pastoreará siempre, y en las sequías saciará tu alma, y engordará tus huesos; y serás como huerto de riego, y como manantial de aguas, cuyas aguas nunca faltan.(E) Ésaïe 58:11 L'Eternel sera toujours ton guide, Il rassasiera ton âme dans les lieux arides, Et il redonnera de la vigueur à tes membres; Tu seras comme un jardin arrosé, Comme une source dont les eaux ne tarissent pas.(F) Isa 58:11 und der HERR wird dich immerdar führen und deine Seele sättigen in der Dürre und deine Gebeine stärken; und du wirst sein wie ein gewässerter Garten und wie eine Wasserquelle, welcher es nimmer an Wasser fehlt;(D) Isa 58:11 καὶ ἔσται ὁ θεός σου μετὰ σοῦ διὰ παντός καὶ ἐμπλησθήσῃ καθάπερ ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχή σου καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ σου πιανθήσεται καὶ ἔσῃ ὡς κῆπος μεθύων καὶ ὡς πηγὴ ἣν μὴ ἐξέλιπεν ὕδωρ καὶ τὰ ὀστᾶ σου ὡς βοτάνη ἀνατελεῖ καὶ πιανθήσεται καὶ κληρονομήσουσι γενεὰς γενεῶν(lxx) Isa 58:11 The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:12 ============ Isa 58:12 "Those from among you will rebuild the ancient ruins; You will raise up the age-old foundations; And you will be called the repairer of the breach, The restorer of the streets in which to dwell.(nasb) Isa 58:12 Et ædificabuntur in te deserta sæculorum, fundamenta generationis et generationis suscitabis; et vocaberis ædificator sepium, avertens semitas in quietem.(vulgate) Isaías 58:12 Y los tuyos edificarán las ruinas antiguas; los cimientos de generación y generación levantarás; y serás llamado reparador de portillos, restaurador de calzadas para habitar.(E) Ésaïe 58:12 Les tiens rebâtiront sur d'anciennes ruines, Tu relèveras des fondements antiques; On t'appellera réparateur des brèches, Celui qui restaure les chemins, qui rend le pays habitable.(F) Isa 58:12 und soll durch dich gebaut werden, was lange wüst gelegen ist; und wirst Grund legen, der für und für bleibe; und sollst heißen: Der die Lücken verzäunt und die Wege bessert, daß man da wohnen möge.(D) Isa 58:12 καὶ οἰκοδομηθήσονταί σου αἱ ἔρημοι αἰώνιοι καὶ ἔσται σου τὰ θεμέλια αἰώνια γενεῶν γενεαῖς καὶ κληθήσῃ οἰκοδόμος φραγμῶν καὶ τοὺς τρίβους τοὺς ἀνὰ μέσον παύσεις(lxx) Isa 58:12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:13 ============ Isa 58:13 "If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word,(nasb) Isa 58:13 Si averteris a sabbato pedem tuum facere voluntatem tuam in die sancto meo, et vocaveris sabbatum delicatum, et sanctum Domini gloriosum, et glorificaveris eum dum non facis vias tuas, et non invenitur voluntas tua, ut loquaris sermonem:(vulgate) Isaías 58:13 Si retrajeres del sábado tu pie, [de] hacer tu voluntad en mi día santo, y al sábado llamares delicias, santo, glorioso de Jehová; y lo honrares, no andando en tus propios caminos, ni buscando tu voluntad, ni hablando [tus propias] palabras;(E) Ésaïe 58:13 Si tu retiens ton pied pendant le sabbat, Pour ne pas faire ta volonté en mon saint jour, Si tu fais du sabbat tes délices, Pour sanctifier l'Eternel en le glorifiant, Et si tu l'honores en ne suivant point tes voies, En ne te livrant pas à tes penchants et à de vains discours,(F) Isa 58:13 So du deinen Fuß von dem Sabbat kehrst, daß du nicht tust, was dir gefällt an meinem heiligen Tage, und den Sabbat eine Lust heißt und den Tag, der dem HERRN heilig ist, ehrest, so du ihn also ehrest, daß du nicht tust deine Wege, noch darin erfunden werde, was dir gefällt oder leeres Geschwätz;(D) Isa 58:13 ἐὰν ἀποστρέψῃς τὸν πόδα σου ἀπὸ τῶν σαββάτων τοῦ μὴ ποιεῖν τὰ θελήματά σου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἁγίᾳ καὶ καλέσεις τὰ σάββατα τρυφερά ἅγια τῷ θεῷ σου οὐκ ἀρεῖς τὸν πόδα σου ἐπ᾽ ἔργῳ οὐδὲ λαλήσεις λόγον ἐν ὀργῇ ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου(lxx) Isa 58:13 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 58:14 ============ Isa 58:14 Then you will take delight in the Lord, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the Lord has spoken."(nasb) Isa 58:14 tunc delectaberis super Domino, et sustollam te super altitudines terræ, et cibabo te hæreditate Jacob patris tui: os enim Domini locutum est.](vulgate) Isaías 58:14 entonces te deleitarás en Jehová; y yo te haré subir sobre las alturas de la tierra, y te daré a comer la heredad de Jacob tu padre; porque la boca de Jehová [lo] ha hablado.(E) Ésaïe 58:14 Alors tu mettras ton plaisir en l'Eternel, Et je te ferai monter sur les hauteurs du pays, Je te ferai jouir de l'héritage de Jacob, ton père; Car la bouche de l'Eternel a parlé.(F) Isa 58:14 alsdann wirst du Lust haben am HERRN, und ich will dich über die Höhen auf Erden schweben lassen und will dich speisen mit dem Erbe deines Vaters Jakob; denn des HERRN Mund sagt's.(D) Isa 58:14 καὶ ἔσῃ πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ κύριον καὶ ἀναβιβάσει σε ἐπὶ τὰ ἀγαθὰ τῆς γῆς καὶ ψωμιεῖ σε τὴν κληρονομίαν Ιακωβ τοῦ πατρός σου τὸ γὰρ στόμα κυρίου ἐλάλησεν ταῦτα(lxx) Isa 58:14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
