and there the hand of the Lord came upon him. )(nasb) Eze 1:3 factum est verbum Domini ad Ezechielem filium Buzi sacerdotem, in terra Chaldæorum, secus flumen Chobar: et facta est super eum ibi manus Domini.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:3 La palabra de Jehová vino expresamente al sacerdote Ezequiel, hijo de Buzi, en la tierra de los caldeos junto al río Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:4 ============ Eze 1:4 As I looked, behold, a storm wind was coming from the north, a great cloud with fire flashing forth continually and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like glowing metal in the midst of the fire.(nasb) Eze 1:4 Et vidi, et ecce ventus turbinis veniebat ab aquilone, et nubes magna, et ignis involvens, et splendor in circuitu ejus: et de medio ejus, quasi species electri, id est, de medio ignis:(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:4 Y miré, y he aquí un viento tempestuoso venía del norte, una gran nube, con un fuego envolvente, y en derredor suyo un resplandor, y en medio del fuego una cosa que parecía como de ámbar,(E) Ézéchiel 1:4 Je regardai, et voici, il vint du septentrion un vent impétueux, une grosse nuée, et une gerbe de feu, qui répandait de tous côtés une lumière éclatante, au centre de laquelle brillait comme de l'airain poli, sortant du milieu du feu.(F) Eze 1:4 Und ich sah, und siehe, es kam ein ungestümer Wind von Mitternacht her mit einer großen Wolke voll Feuer, das allenthalben umher glänzte; und mitten in dem Feuer war es lichthell.(D) Eze 1:4 καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ πνεῦμα ἐξαῖρον ἤρχετο ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ νεφέλη μεγάλη ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ φέγγος κύκλῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ πῦρ ἐξαστράπτον καὶ ἐν τῷ μέσῳ αὐτοῦ ὡς ὅρασις ἠλέκτρου ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ πυρὸς καὶ φέγγος ἐν αὐτῷ(lxx) Eze 1:4 Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:5 ============ Eze 1:5 Within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form.(nasb) Eze 1:5 et in medio ejus similitudo quatuor animalium. Et hic aspectus eorum, similitudo hominis in eis.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:5 y en medio de ella la figura de cuatro seres vivientes. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:6 ============ Eze 1:6 Each of them had four faces and four wings.(nasb) Eze 1:6 Quatuor facies uni, et quatuor pennæ uni.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:6 Y cada uno tenía cuatro caras, y cuatro alas.(E) Ézéchiel 1:6 Chacun d'eux avait quatre faces, et chacun avait quatre ailes.(F) Eze 1:6 Und ein jegliches hatte vier Angesichter und vier Flügel.(D) Eze 1:6 καὶ τέσσαρα πρόσωπα τῷ ἑνί καὶ τέσσαρες πτέρυγες τῷ ἑνί(lxx) Eze 1:6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:7 ============ Eze 1:7 Their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf's hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze.(nasb) Eze 1:7 Pedes eorum, pedes recti, et planta pedis eorum quasi planta pedis vituli: et scintillæ quasi aspectus æris candentis.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:7 Y los pies de ellos [eran] derechos, y la planta de sus pies como la planta de pie de becerro; y centelleaban a manera de bronce muy bruñido.(E) Ézéchiel 1:7 Leurs pieds étaient droits, et la plante de leurs pieds était comme celle du pied d'un veau, ils étincelaient comme de l'airain poli.(F) Eze 1:7 Und ihre Beine standen gerade, und ihre Füße waren gleich wie Rinderfüße und glänzten wie helles glattes Erz.(D) Eze 1:7 καὶ τὰ σκέλη αὐτῶν ὀρθά καὶ πτερωτοὶ οἱ πόδες αὐτῶν καὶ σπινθῆρες ὡς ἐξαστράπτων χαλκός καὶ ἐλαφραὶ αἱ πτέρυγες αὐτῶν(lxx) Eze 1:7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves' feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:8 ============ Eze 1:8 Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them,(nasb) Eze 1:8 Et manus hominis sub pennis eorum, in quatuor partibus: et facies et pennas per quatuor partes habebant.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:8 Y debajo de sus alas, a sus cuatro lados, [tenían] manos de hombre; y sus caras y sus alas por los cuatro lados.(E) Ézéchiel 1:8 Ils avaient des mains d'homme sous les ailes à leurs quatre côtés; et tous les quatre avaient leurs faces et leurs ailes.(F) Eze 1:8 Und sie hatten Menschenhände unter ihren Flügeln an ihren vier Seiten; denn sie hatten alle vier ihre Angesichter und ihre Flügel.(D) Eze 1:8 καὶ χεὶρ ἀνθρώπου ὑποκάτωθεν τῶν πτερύγων αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὰ τέσσαρα μέρη αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν τῶν τεσσάρων(lxx) Eze 1:8 The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:9 ============ Eze 1:9 their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward.(nasb) Eze 1:9 Junctæque erant pennæ eorum alterius ad alterum: non revertebantur cum incederent, sed unumquodque ante faciem suam gradiebatur.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:9 Con las alas se juntaban el uno al otro. No se volvían cuando andaban; cada uno caminaba derecho hacia adelante.(E) Ézéchiel 1:9 Leurs ailes étaient jointes l'une à l'autre; ils ne se tournaient point en marchant, mais chacun marchait droit devant soi.(F) Eze 1:9 Und je einer der Flügel rührte an den andern; und wenn sie gingen, mußten sie nicht herumlenken, sondern wo sie hin gingen, gingen sie stracks vor sich.(D) Eze 1:9 οὐκ ἐπεστρέφοντο ἐν τῷ βαδίζειν αὐτά ἕκαστον κατέναντι τοῦ προσώπου αὐτῶν ἐπορεύοντο(lxx) Eze 1:9 Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:10 ============ Eze 1:10 As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle.(nasb) Eze 1:10 Similitudo autem vultus eorum, facies hominis et facies leonis a dextris ipsorum quatuor, facies autem bovis a sinistris ipsorum quatuor, et facies aquilæ desuper ipsorum quatuor.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:10 Y el aspecto de sus caras era cara de hombre; y cara de león al lado derecho en los cuatro; y a la izquierda cara de buey en los cuatro; y los cuatro tenían cara de águila.(E) Ézéchiel 1:10 Quant à la figure de leurs faces, ils avaient tous une face d'homme, tous quatre une face de lion à droite, tous quatre une face de boeuf à gauche, et tous quatre une face d'aigle.(F) Eze 1:10 Ihre Angesichter waren vorn gleich einem Menschen, und zur rechten Seite gleich einem Löwen bei allen vieren, und zur linken Seite gleich einem Ochsen bei allen vieren, und hinten gleich einem Adler bei allen vieren.(D) Eze 1:10 καὶ ὁμοίωσις τῶν προσώπων αὐτῶν πρόσωπον ἀνθρώπου καὶ πρόσωπον λέοντος ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν καὶ πρόσωπον μόσχου ἐξ ἀριστερῶν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν καὶ πρόσωπον ἀετοῦ τοῖς τέσσαρσιν(lxx) Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:11 ============ Eze 1:11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies.(nasb) Eze 1:11 Facies eorum et pennæ eorum extentæ desuper: duæ pennæ singulorum jungebantur, et duæ tegebant corpora eorum.~(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:11 Tales [eran] sus rostros; y tenían sus alas extendidas por encima, cada uno dos, las cuales se juntaban; y las otras dos cubrían sus cuerpos.(E) Ézéchiel 1:11 Leurs faces et leurs ailes étaient séparées par le haut; deux de leurs ailes étaient jointes l'une à l'autre, et deux couvraient leurs corps.(F) Eze 1:11 Und ihre Angesichter und Flügel waren obenher zerteilt, daß je zwei Flügel zusammenschlugen, und mit zwei Flügeln bedeckten sie ihren Leib.(D) Eze 1:11 καὶ αἱ πτέρυγες αὐτῶν ἐκτεταμέναι ἄνωθεν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν ἑκατέρῳ δύο συνεζευγμέναι πρὸς ἀλλήλας καὶ δύο ἐπεκάλυπτον ἐπάνω τοῦ σώματος αὐτῶν(lxx) Eze 1:11 Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:12 ============ Eze 1:12 And each went straight forward; wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go, without turning as they went.(nasb) Eze 1:12 Et unumquodque eorum coram facie sua ambulabat: ubi erat impetus spiritus, illuc gradiebantur, nec revertebantur cum ambularent.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:12 Y cada uno caminaba derecho hacia adelante; hacia donde el espíritu les movía que anduviesen, andaban; y cuando andaban, no se volvían.(E) Ézéchiel 1:12 Chacun marchait droit devant soi; ils allaient où l'esprit les poussait à aller, et ils ne se tournaient point dans leur marche.(F) Eze 1:12 Wo sie hin gingen, da gingen sie stracks vor sich, sie gingen aber, wo der sie hin trieb, und mußten nicht herumlenken, wenn sie gingen.(D) Eze 1:12 καὶ ἑκάτερον κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐπορεύετο οὗ ἂν ἦν τὸ πνεῦμα πορευόμενον ἐπορεύοντο καὶ οὐκ ἐπέστρεφον(lxx) Eze 1:12 And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:13 ============ Eze 1:13 In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches darting back and forth among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire.(nasb) Eze 1:13 Et similitudo animalium, aspectus eorum quasi carbonum ignis ardentium, et quasi aspectus lampadarum: hæc erat visio discurrens in medio animalium, splendor ignis, et de igne fulgur egrediens.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:13 En cuanto a la semejanza de los seres vivientes, su parecer era como de carbones de fuego encendidos, como parecer de hachones encendidos que andaban entre los seres vivientes; y el fuego resplandecía, y del fuego salían relámpagos.(E) Ézéchiel 1:13 L'aspect de ces animaux ressemblait à des charbons de feu ardents, c'était comme l'aspect des flambeaux, et ce feu circulait entre les animaux; il jetait une lumière éclatante, et il en sortait des éclairs.(F) Eze 1:13 Und die Tiere waren anzusehen wie feurige Kohlen, die da brennen, und wie Fackeln; und das Feuer fuhr hin zwischen den Tieren und gab einen Glanz von sich, und aus dem Feuer gingen Blitze.(D) Eze 1:13 καὶ ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ζῴων ὅρασις ὡς ἀνθράκων πυρὸς καιομένων ὡς ὄψις λαμπάδων συστρεφομένων ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ζῴων καὶ φέγγος τοῦ πυρός καὶ ἐκ τοῦ πυρὸς ἐξεπορεύετο ἀστραπή(lxx) Eze 1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:14 ============ Eze 1:14 And the living beings ran to and fro like bolts of lightning.(nasb) Eze 1:14 Et animalia ibant et revertebantur, in similitudinem fulguris coruscantis.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:14 Y los seres vivientes corrían y volvían a semejanza de relámpagos.(E) Ézéchiel 1:14 Et les animaux couraient et revenaient comme la foudre.(F) Eze 1:14 Die Tiere aber liefen hin und her wie der Blitz.(D) Eze 1:14 - -(lxx) Eze 1:14 And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:15 ============ Eze 1:15 Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them.(nasb) Eze 1:15 Cumque aspicerem animalia, apparuit rota una super terram juxta animalia, habens quatuor facies.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:15 Y mientras yo miraba a los seres vivientes, he aquí una rueda en la tierra junto a los seres vivientes de cuatro caras.(E) Ézéchiel 1:15 Je regardais ces animaux; et voici, il y avait une roue sur la terre, près des animaux, devant leurs quatre faces.(F) Eze 1:15 Als ich die Tiere so sah, siehe, da stand ein Rad auf der Erde bei den vier Tieren und war anzusehen wie vier Räder.(D) Eze 1:15 καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ τροχὸς εἷς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐχόμενος τῶν ζῴων τοῖς τέσσαρσιν(lxx) Eze 1:15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:16 ============ Eze 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another.(nasb) Eze 1:16 Et aspectus rotarum et opus earum quasi visio maris: et una similitudo ipsarum quatuor: et aspectus earum et opera quasi sit rota in medio rotæ.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:16 Y el parecer de las ruedas y su obra [era] semejante al color del berilo. Y las cuatro tenían una misma semejanza; su apariencia y su obra [eran] como una rueda en medio de [otra] rueda.(E) Ézéchiel 1:16 A leur aspect et à leur structure, ces roues semblaient être en chrysolithe, et toutes les quatre avaient la même forme; leur aspect et leur structure étaient tels que chaque roue paraissait être au milieu d'une autre roue.(F) Eze 1:16 Und die Räder waren wie Türkis und waren alle vier eins wie das andere, und sie waren anzusehen, als wäre ein Rad im andern.(D) Eze 1:16 καὶ τὸ εἶδος τῶν τροχῶν ὡς εἶδος θαρσις καὶ ὁμοίωμα ἓν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν καὶ τὸ ἔργον αὐτῶν ἦν καθὼς ἂν εἴη τροχὸς ἐν τροχῷ(lxx) Eze 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:17 ============ Eze 1:17 Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions without turning as they moved.(nasb) Eze 1:17 Per quatuor partes earum euntes ibant, et non revertebantur cum ambularent.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:17 Cuando andaban, se movían sobre sus cuatro costados; no se volvían cuando andaban.(E) Ézéchiel 1:17 En cheminant, elles allaient de leurs quatre côtés, et elles ne se tournaient point dans leur marche.(F) Eze 1:17 Wenn sie gehen wollten, konnten sie nach allen ihren vier Seiten gehen und sie mußten nicht herumlenken, wenn sie gingen.(D) Eze 1:17 ἐπὶ τὰ τέσσαρα μέρη αὐτῶν ἐπορεύοντο οὐκ ἐπέστρεφον ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι αὐτὰ(lxx) Eze 1:17 When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:18 ============ Eze 1:18 As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about.(nasb) Eze 1:18 Statura quoque erat rotis, et altitudo, et horribilis aspectus: et totum corpus oculis plenum in circuitu ipsarum quatuor.(vulgate) Ezequiel 1:18 Y sus aros eran altos y espantosos, y llenos de ojos alrededor en las cuatro.(E) Ézéchiel 1:18 Elles avaient une circonférence et une hauteur effrayantes, et à leur circonférence les quatre roues étaient remplies d'yeux tout autour.(F) Eze 1:18 Ihre Felgen und Höhe waren schrecklich; und ihre Felgen waren voller Augen um und um an allen vier Rädern.(D) Eze 1:18 οὐδ᾽ οἱ νῶτοι αὐτῶν καὶ ὕψος ἦν αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶδον αὐτά καὶ οἱ νῶτοι αὐτῶν πλήρεις ὀφθαλμῶν κυκλόθεν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν(lxx) Eze 1:18 As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:19 ============ Eze 1:19 Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.(nasb) Eze 1:28 velut aspectum arcus cum fuerit in nube in die pluviæ. Und da ich's gesehen hatte, fiel ich auf mein Angesicht und hörte einen reden.(D) Eze 1:28 ὡς ὅρασις τόξου ὅταν ᾖ ἐν τῇ νεφέλῃ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ὑετοῦ οὕτως ἡ στάσις τοῦ φέγγους κυκλόθεν αὕτη ἡ ὅρασις ὁμοιώματος δόξης κυρίου καὶ εἶδον καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου καὶ ἤκουσα φωνὴν λαλοῦντος(lxx) Eze 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it.
