Today's Date: ======= Luke 16:1 ============ Luk 16:1 Now He was also saying to the disciples, "There was a rich man who had a manager, and this manager was reported to him as squandering his possessions.(nasb) Luk 16:1 Dicebat autem et ad discipulos suos: Homo quidam erat dives, qui habebat villicum: et hic diffamatus est apud illum quasi dissipasset bona ipsius.(vulgate) Lucas 16:1 Y dijo también a sus discípulos: ‹Había un hombre rico, el cual tenía un mayordomo, y éste fue acusado ante él de que había disipado sus bienes.›(E) Luc 16:1 Jésus dit aussi à ses disciples: Un homme riche avait un économe, qui lui fut dénoncé comme dissipant ses biens.(F) Luk 16:1 Er aber sprach zu seinen Jüngern: Es war ein reicher Mann, der hatte einen Haushalter; der ward von ihm berüchtigt, als hätte er ihm seine Güter umgebracht.(D) Luk 16:1 ἔλεγεν δὲ καὶ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς, ἄνθρωπός τις ἦν πλούσιος ὃς εἶχεν οἰκονόμον, καὶ οὖτος διεβλήθη αὐτῶ ὡς διασκορπίζων τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:1 He also said to His disciples: "There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:2 ============ Luk 16:2 And he called him and said to him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.'(nasb) Luk 16:2 Et vocavit illum, et ait illi: Quid hoc audio de te? redde rationem villicationis tuæ: jam enim non poteris villicare.(vulgate) Lucas 16:2 ‹Y le llamó, y le dijo: ¿Qué es esto que oigo de ti? Da cuenta de tu mayordomía, porque ya no podrás ser mayordomo.›(E) Luc 16:2 Il l'appela, et lui dit: Qu'est-ce que j'entends dire de toi? Rends compte de ton administration, car tu ne pourras plus administrer mes biens.(F) Luk 16:2 Und er forderte ihn und sprach zu ihm: Wie höre ich das von dir? Tu Rechnung von deinem Haushalten; denn du kannst hinfort nicht Haushalter sein!(D) Luk 16:2 καὶ φωνήσας αὐτὸν εἶπεν αὐτῶ, τί τοῦτο ἀκούω περὶ σοῦ; ἀπόδος τὸν λόγον τῆς οἰκονομίας σου, οὐ γὰρ δύνῃ ἔτι οἰκονομεῖν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:2 So he called him and said to him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.'(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:3 ============ Luk 16:3 The manager said to himself, 'What shall I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig; I am ashamed to beg.(nasb) Luk 16:3 Ait autem villicus intra se: Quid faciam, quia dominus meus aufert a me villicationem? Fodere non valeo, mendicare erubesco.(vulgate) Lucas 16:3 ‹Entonces el mayordomo dijo dentro de sí: ¿Qué haré? Porque mi señor me quita la mayordomía. Cavar, no puedo; mendigar, me da vergüenza.›(E) Luc 16:3 L'économe dit en lui-même: Que ferai-je, puisque mon maître m'ôte l'administration de ses biens? Travailler à la terre? je ne le puis. Mendier? j'en ai honte.(F) Luk 16:3 Der Haushalter sprach bei sich selbst: Was soll ich tun? Mein Herr nimmt das Amt von mir; graben kann ich nicht, so schäme ich mich zu betteln.(D) Luk 16:3 εἶπεν δὲ ἐν ἑαυτῶ ὁ οἰκονόμος, τί ποιήσω, ὅτι ὁ κύριός μου ἀφαιρεῖται τὴν οἰκονομίαν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ; σκάπτειν οὐκ ἰσχύω, ἐπαιτεῖν αἰσχύνομαι.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:3 Then the steward said within himself, 'What shall I do? For my master is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:4 ============ Luk 16:4 I know what I shall do, so that when I am removed from the management people will welcome me into their homes.'(nasb) Luk 16:4 Scio quid faciam, ut, cum amotus fuero a villicatione, recipiant me in domos suas.(vulgate) Lucas 16:4 ‹Ya sé lo que haré para que cuando sea quitado de la mayordomía, me reciban en sus casas.›(E) Luc 16:4 Je sais ce que je ferai, pour qu'il y ait des gens qui me reçoivent dans leurs maisons quand je serai destitué de mon emploi.(F) Luk 16:4 Ich weiß wohl, was ich tun will, wenn ich nun von dem Amt gesetzt werde, daß sie mich in ihre Häuser nehmen.(D) Luk 16:4 ἔγνων τί ποιήσω, ἵνα ὅταν μετασταθῶ ἐκ τῆς οἰκονομίας δέξωνταί με εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:4 I have resolved what to do, that when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.'(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:5 ============ Luk 16:5 And he summoned each one of his master's debtors, and he began saying to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'(nasb) Luk 16:5 Convocatis itaque singulis debitoribus domini sui, dicebat primo: Quantum debes domino meo?(vulgate) Lucas 16:5 ‹Y llamando a cada uno de los deudores de su señor, dijo al primero: ¿Cuánto debes a mi señor?›(E) Luc 16:5 Et, faisant venir chacun des débiteurs de son maître, il dit au premier: Combien dois-tu à mon maître?(F) Luk 16:5 Und er rief zu sich alle Schuldner seines Herrn und sprach zu dem ersten: Wie viel bist du meinem Herrn schuldig?(D) Luk 16:5 καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος ἕνα ἕκαστον τῶν χρεοφειλετῶν τοῦ κυρίου ἑαυτοῦ ἔλεγεν τῶ πρώτῳ, πόσον ὀφείλεις τῶ κυρίῳ μου;(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:5 So he called every one of his master's debtors to him, and said to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:6 ============ Luk 16:6 And he said, 'A hundred measures of oil.' And he said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.'(nasb) Luk 16:6 At ille dixit: Centum cados olei. Dixitque illi: Accipe cautionem tuam: et sede cito, scribe quinquaginta.(vulgate) Lucas 16:6 ‹Y él dijo: Cien barriles de aceite. Y le dijo: Toma tu cuenta, y siéntate pronto, y escribe cincuenta.›(E) Luc 16:6 Cent mesures d'huile, répondit-il. So he said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.'(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:7 ============ Luk 16:7 Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?' And he said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'(nasb) Luk 16:7 Deinde alii dixit: Tu vero quantum debes? Qui ait: Centum coros tritici. Ait illi: Accipe litteras tuas, et scribe octoginta.(vulgate) Lucas 16:7 ‹Después dijo a otro: ¿Y tú, cuánto debes? Y él dijo: Cien medidas de trigo. Y él le dijo: Toma tu cuenta, y escribe ochenta.›(E) Luc 16:7 Il dit ensuite à un autre: Et toi, combien dois-tu? Cent mesures de blé, répondit-il. Und er sprach zu ihm: Nimm deinen Brief und schreib achtzig.(D) Luk 16:7 ἔπειτα ἑτέρῳ εἶπεν, σὺ δὲ πόσον ὀφείλεις; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν, ἑκατὸν κόρους σίτου. λέγει αὐτῶ, δέξαι σου τὰ γράμματα καὶ γράψον ὀγδοήκοντα.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:7 Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?' So he said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' And he said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:8 ============ Luk 16:8 And his master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.(nasb) Luk 16:8 Et laudavit dominus villicum iniquitatis, quia prudenter fecisset: quia filii hujus sæculi prudentiores filiis lucis in generatione sua sunt.(vulgate) Lucas 16:8 ‹Y alabó el señor al mayordomo injusto por haber hecho astutamente; porque los hijos de este siglo son en su generación más astutos que los hijos de luz.›(E) Luc 16:8 Le maître loua l'économe infidèle de ce qu'il avait agi prudemment. Car les enfants de ce siècle sont plus prudents à l'égard de leurs semblables que ne le sont les enfants de lumière.(F) Luk 16:8 Und der HERR lobte den ungerechten Haushalter, daß er klüglich gehandelt hatte; denn die Kinder dieser Welt sind klüger als die Kinder des Lichtes in ihrem Geschlecht.(D) Luk 16:8 καὶ ἐπῄνεσεν ὁ κύριος τὸν οἰκονόμον τῆς ἀδικίας ὅτι φρονίμως ἐποίησεν· ὅτι οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου φρονιμώτεροι ὑπὲρ τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ φωτὸς εἰς τὴν γενεὰν τὴν ἑαυτῶν εἰσιν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:8 So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:9 ============ Luk 16:9 And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, they will receive you into the eternal dwellings.(nasb) Luk 16:9 Et ego vobis dico: facite vobis amicos de mammona iniquitatis: ut, cum defeceritis, recipiant vos in æterna tabernacula.(vulgate) Lucas 16:9 ‹Y yo os digo: Haceos amigos de las riquezas de maldad, para que cuando fallareis, os reciban en las moradas eternas.›(E) Luc 16:9 Et moi, je vous dis: Faites-vous des amis avec les richesses injustes, pour qu'ils vous reçoivent dans les tabernacles éternels, quand elles viendront à vous manquer.(F) Luk 16:9 Und ich sage euch auch: Machet euch Freunde mit dem ungerechten Mammon, auf daß, wenn ihr nun darbet, sie euch aufnehmen in die ewigen Hütten.(D) Luk 16:9 καὶ ἐγὼ ὑμῖν λέγω, ἑαυτοῖς ποιήσατε φίλους ἐκ τοῦ μαμωνᾶ τῆς ἀδικίας, ἵνα ὅταν ἐκλίπῃ δέξωνται ὑμᾶς εἰς τὰς αἰωνίους σκηνάς.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:9 And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:10 ============ Luk 16:10 "He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.(nasb) Luk 16:10 Qui fidelis est in minimo, et in majori fidelis est: et qui in modico iniquus est, et in majori iniquus est.(vulgate) Lucas 16:10 ‹El que es fiel en lo muy poco, también en lo más es fiel; y el que en lo muy poco es injusto, también en lo más es injusto.›(E) Luc 16:10 Celui qui est fidèle dans les moindres choses l'est aussi dans les grandes, et celui qui est injuste dans les moindres choses l'est aussi dans les grandes.(F) Luk 16:10 Wer im geringsten treu ist, der ist auch im Großen treu; und wer im Geringsten unrecht ist, der ist auch im Großen unrecht.(D) Luk 16:10 ὁ πιστὸς ἐν ἐλαχίστῳ καὶ ἐν πολλῶ πιστός ἐστιν, καὶ ὁ ἐν ἐλαχίστῳ ἄδικος καὶ ἐν πολλῶ ἄδικός ἐστιν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:11 ============ Luk 16:11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?(nasb) Luk 16:11 Si ergo in iniquo mammona fideles non fuistis quod verum est, quis credet vobis?(vulgate) Lucas 16:11 ‹Pues si en las riquezas injustas no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os confiará lo verdadero?›(E) Luc 16:11 Si donc vous n'avez pas été fidèles dans les richesses injustes, qui vous confiera les véritables?(F) Luk 16:11 So ihr nun in dem ungerechten Mammon nicht treu seid, wer will euch das Wahrhaftige vertrauen?(D) Luk 16:11 εἰ οὗν ἐν τῶ ἀδίκῳ μαμωνᾷ πιστοὶ οὐκ ἐγένεσθε, τὸ ἀληθινὸν τίς ὑμῖν πιστεύσει;(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:12 ============ Luk 16:12 And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?(nasb) Luk 16:12 Et si in alieno fideles non fuistis, quod vestrum est, quis dabit vobis?(vulgate) Lucas 16:12 ‹Y si en lo ajeno no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os dará lo que es vuestro?›(E) Luc 16:12 Et si vous n'avez pas été fidèles dans ce qui est à autrui, qui vous donnera ce qui est à vous?(F) Luk 16:12 Und so ihr in dem Fremden nicht treu seid, wer wird euch geben, was euer ist?(D) Luk 16:12 καὶ εἰ ἐν τῶ ἀλλοτρίῳ πιστοὶ οὐκ ἐγένεσθε, τὸ ὑμέτερον τίς ὑμῖν δώσει;(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:13 ============ Luk 16:13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."(nasb) Luk 16:13 Nemo servus potest duobus dominis servire: aut enim unum odiet, et alterum diliget: aut uni adhærebit, et alterum contemnet. Non potestis Deo servire et mammonæ.~(vulgate) Lucas 16:13 ‹Ningún siervo puede servir a dos señores; porque o aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, o se apegará al uno y despreciará al otro. No podéis servir a Dios y a las riquezas.›(E) Luc 16:13 Nul serviteur ne peut servir deux maîtres. Car, ou il haïra l'un et aimera l'autre; ou il s'attachera à l'un et méprisera l'autre. Vous ne pouvez servir Dieu et Mamon.(F) Luk 16:13 Kein Knecht kann zwei Herren dienen: entweder er wird den einen hassen und den andern lieben, oder er wird dem einen anhangen und den andern verachten. You cannot serve God and mammon."(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:14 ============ Luk 16:14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and were scoffing at Him.(nasb) Luk 16:14 Audiebant autem omnia hæc pharisæi, qui erant avari: et deridebant illum.(vulgate) Lucas 16:14 Y oían también todas estas cosas los fariseos, los cuales eran avaros, y se burlaban de Él.(E) Luc 16:14 Les pharisiens, qui étaient avares, écoutaient aussi tout cela, et ils se moquaient de lui.(F) Luk 16:14 Das alles hörten die Pharisäer auch, und waren geizig, und spotteten sein.(D) Luk 16:14 ἤκουον δὲ ταῦτα πάντα οἱ φαρισαῖοι φιλάργυροι ὑπάρχοντες, καὶ ἐξεμυκτήριζον αὐτόν.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they derided Him.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:15 ============ Luk 16:15 And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts; for that which is highly esteemed among men is detestable in the sight of God.(nasb) Luk 16:15 Et ait illis: Vos estis qui justificatis vos coram hominibus: Deus autem novit corda vestra: quia quod hominibus altum est, abominatio est ante Deum.(vulgate) Lucas 16:15 Y les dijo: ‹Vosotros sois los que os justificáis a vosotros mismos delante de los hombres; pero Dios conoce vuestros corazones; porque lo que los hombres tienen en alta estima, delante de Dios es abominación.›(E) Luc 16:15 Jésus leur dit: Vous, vous cherchez à paraître justes devant les hommes, mais Dieu connaît vos coeurs; car ce qui est élevé parmi les hommes est une abomination devant Dieu.(F) Luk 16:15 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr seid's, die ihr euch selbst rechtfertigt vor den Menschen; aber Gott kennt eure Herzen; denn was hoch ist unter den Menschen, das ist ein Greuel vor Gott.(D) Luk 16:15 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ δικαιοῦντες ἑαυτοὺς ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ὁ δὲ θεὸς γινώσκει τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν· ὅτι τὸ ἐν ἀνθρώποις ὑψηλὸν βδέλυγμα ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:15 And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.(nkjv) ======= Luke 16:16 ============ Luk 16:16 "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John; since that time the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.(nasb) Luk 16:16 Lex et prophetæ usque ad Joannem: ex eo regnum Dei evangelizatur, et omnis in illud vim facit.(vulgate) Lucas 16:16 ‹La ley y los profetas [fueron] hasta Juan; desde entonces el reino de Dios es predicado, y todos se esfuerzan por entrar en él.›(E) Luc 16:16 La loi et les prophètes ont subsisté jusqu'à Jean; depuis lors, le royaume de Dieu est annoncé, et chacun use de violence pour y entrer.(F) Luk 16:16 Das Gesetz und die Propheten weissagen bis auf Johannes; und von der Zeit wird das Reich Gottes durchs Evangelium gepredigt, und jedermann dringt mit Gewalt hinein.(D) Luk 16:16 ὁ νόμος καὶ οἱ προφῆται μέχρι ἰωάννου· ἀπὸ τότε ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ εὐαγγελίζεται καὶ πᾶς εἰς αὐτὴν βιάζεται.(Nestle-Aland) Luk 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John.
