Today's Date: ======= Genesis 49:1 ============ Gen 49:1 Then Jacob summoned his sons and said, "Assemble yourselves that I may tell you what will befall you in the days to come.(nas) Gen 49:1 ἐκάλεσεν δὲ Ιακωβ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν συνάχθητε ἵνα ἀναγγείλω ὑμῖν τί ἀπαντήσει ὑμῖν ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν (lxx) Gen 49:1 Vocavit autem Jacob filios suos, et ait eis: Congregamini, ut annuntiem quæ ventura sunt vobis in diebus novissimis.(vulgate) 1 ׃49 וַיִּקְרָ֥א יַעֲקֹ֖ב אֶל־בָּנָ֑יו וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ וְאַגִּ֣ידָה לָכֶ֔ם אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָ֥א אֶתְכֶ֖ם בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית הַיָּמִֽים׃ Genesis Gen 49:1 Und Jakob berief seine Söhne und sprach: Versammelt euch, daß ich euch verkündige, was euch begegnen wird in künftigen Zeiten.(dhs) Gen 49:1 And Jacob called his sons and said, "Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days:(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:2 ============ Gen 49:2 "Gather together and hear, O sons of Jacob; And listen to Israel your father.(nas) Gen 49:2 ἀθροίσθητε καὶ ἀκούσατε υἱοὶ Ιακωβ ἀκούσατε Ισραηλ τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν (lxx) Gen 49:2 [Congregamini, et audite, filii Jacob, audite Israël patrem vestrum:(vulgate) 2 ׃49 הִקָּבְצ֥וּ וְשִׁמְע֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְשִׁמְע֖וּ אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל אֲבִיכֶֽם׃ Genesis Gen 49:2 Kommt zuhauf und höret zu, ihr Kinder Jakobs, und höret euren Vater Israel.(dhs) Gen 49:2 "Gather together and hear, you sons of Jacob, And listen to Israel your father.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:3 ============ Gen 49:3 "Reuben, you are my firstborn; My might and the beginning of my strength, Preeminent in dignity and preeminent in power.(nas) Gen 49:3 Ρουβην πρωτότοκός μου σύ ἰσχύς μου καὶ ἀρχὴ τέκνων μου σκληρὸς φέρεσθαι καὶ σκληρὸς αὐθάδης (lxx) Gen 49:3 Ruben, primogenitus meus, tu fortitudo mea, et principium doloris mei; prior in donis, major in imperio.(vulgate) 3 ׃49 רְאוּבֵן֙ בְּכֹ֣רִי אַ֔תָּה כֹּחִ֖י וְרֵאשִׁ֣ית אוֹנִ֑י יֶ֥תֶר שְׂאֵ֖ת וְיֶ֥תֶר עָֽז׃ Genesis Gen 49:3 Ruben, mein erster Sohn bist du, meine Kraft, und der Erstling meiner Stärke, der Oberste in der Würde und der Oberste in der Macht.(dhs) Gen 49:3 "Reuben, you are my firstborn, My might and the beginning of my strength, The excellency of dignity and the excellency of power.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:4 ============ Gen 49:4 "Uncontrolled as water, you shall not have preeminence, Because you went up to your father's bed; Then you defiled it--he went up to my couch.(nas) Gen 49:4 ἐξύβρισας ὡς ὕδωρ μὴ ἐκζέσῃς ἀνέβης γὰρ ἐπὶ τὴν κοίτην τοῦ πατρός σου τότε ἐμίανας τὴν στρωμνήν οὗ ἀνέβης (lxx) Gen 49:4 Effusus es sicut aqua, non crescas: quia ascendisti cubile patris tui, et maculasti stratum ejus.(vulgate) 4 ׃49 פַּ֤חַז כַּמַּ֙יִם֙ אַל־תּוֹתַ֔ר כִּ֥י עָלִ֖יתָ מִשְׁכְּבֵ֣י אָבִ֑יךָ אָ֥ז חִלַּ֖לְתָּ יְצוּעִ֥י עָלָֽה׃ פ Genesis Gen 49:4 Er fuhr leichtfertig dahin wie Wasser. Du sollst nicht der Oberste sein; denn du bist auf deines Vaters Lager gestiegen, daselbst hast du mein Bett entweiht mit dem Aufsteigen.(dhs) Gen 49:4 Unstable as water, you shall not excel, Because you went up to your father's bed; Then you defiled it-- He went up to my couch.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:5 ============ Gen 49:5 "Simeon and Levi are brothers; Their swords are implements of violence.(nas) Gen 49:5 Συμεων καὶ Λευι ἀδελφοί συνετέλεσαν ἀδικίαν ἐξ αἱρέσεως αὐτῶν (lxx) Gen 49:5 Simeon et Levi fratres vasa iniquitatis bellantia.(vulgate) 5 ׃49 שִׁמְע֥וֹן וְלֵוִ֖י אַחִ֑ים כְּלֵ֥י חָמָ֖ס מְכֵרֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ Genesis Gen 49:5 Die Brüder Simeon und Levi, ihre Schwerter sind mörderische Waffen.(dhs) Gen 49:5 "Simeon and Levi are brothers; Instruments of cruelty are in their dwelling place.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:6 ============ Gen 49:6 "Let my soul not enter into their council; Let not my glory be united with their assembly; Because in their anger they slew men, And in their self-will they lamed oxen.(nas) Gen 49:6 εἰς βουλὴν αὐτῶν μὴ ἔλθοι ἡ ψυχή μου καὶ ἐπὶ τῇ συστάσει αὐτῶν μὴ ἐρείσαι τὰ ἥπατά μου ὅτι ἐν τῷ θυμῷ αὐτῶν ἀπέκτειναν ἀνθρώπους καὶ ἐν τῇ ἐπιθυμίᾳ αὐτῶν ἐνευροκόπησαν ταῦρον (lxx) Gen 49:6 In consilium eorum non veniat anima mea, et in cœtu illorum non sit gloria mea: quia in furore suo occiderunt virum, et in voluntate sua suffoderunt murum.(vulgate) 6 ׃49 בְּסֹדָם֙ אַל־תָּבֹ֣א נַפְשִׁ֔י בִּקְהָלָ֖ם אַל־תֵּחַ֣ד כְּבֹדִ֑י כִּ֤י בְאַפָּם֙ הָ֣רְגוּ אִ֔ישׁ וּבִרְצֹנָ֖ם עִקְּרוּ־שֽׁוֹר׃ Genesis Gen 49:6 Meine Seele komme nicht in ihren Rat, und meine Ehre sei nicht in ihrer Versammlung; denn in ihrem Zorn haben sie den Mann erwürgt, und in ihrem Mutwillen haben sie den Ochsen verlähmt.(dhs) Gen 49:6 Let not my soul enter their council; Let not my honor be united to their assembly; For in their anger they slew a man, And in their self-will they hamstrung an ox.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:7 ============ Gen 49:7 "Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce; And their wrath, for it is cruel. I will disperse them in Jacob, And scatter them in Israel.(nas) Gen 49:7 ἐπικατάρατος ὁ θυμὸς αὐτῶν ὅτι αὐθάδης καὶ ἡ μῆνις αὐτῶν ὅτι ἐσκληρύνθη διαμεριῶ αὐτοὺς ἐν Ιακωβ καὶ διασπερῶ αὐτοὺς ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Gen 49:7 Maledictus furor eorum, quia pertinax: et indignatio eorum, quia dura: dividam eos in Jacob, et dispergam eos in Israël.(vulgate) 7 ׃49 אָר֤וּר אַפָּם֙ כִּ֣י עָ֔ז וְעֶבְרָתָ֖ם כִּ֣י קָשָׁ֑תָה אֲחַלְּקֵ֣ם בְּיַעֲקֹ֔ב וַאֲפִיצֵ֖ם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס Genesis Gen 49:7 Verflucht sei ihr Zorn, daß er so heftig ist und ihr Grimm, daß er so störrig ist. Ich will sie zerteilen in Jakob und zerstreuen in Israel.(dhs) Gen 49:7 Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce; And their wrath, for it is cruel! I will divide them in Jacob And scatter them in Israel.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:8 ============ Gen 49:8 "Judah, your brothers shall praise you; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father's sons shall bow down to you.(nas) Gen 49:8 Ιουδα σὲ αἰνέσαισαν οἱ ἀδελφοί σου αἱ χεῖρές σου ἐπὶ νώτου τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου προσκυνήσουσίν σοι οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ πατρός σου (lxx) Gen 49:8 Juda, te laudabunt fratres tui: manus tua in cervicibus inimicorum tuorum, adorabunt te filii patris tui.(vulgate) 8 ׃49 יְהוּדָ֗ה אַתָּה֙ יוֹד֣וּךָ אַחֶ֔יךָ יָדְךָ֖ בְּעֹ֣רֶף אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ יִשְׁתַּחֲוּ֥וּ לְךָ֖ בְּנֵ֥י אָבִֽיךָ׃ Genesis Gen 49:8 Juda, du bist's; dich werden deine Brüder loben. Deine Hand wird deinen Feinden auf dem Halse sein; vor dir werden deines Vaters Kinder sich neigen.(dhs) Gen 49:8 "Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father's children shall bow down before you.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:9 ============ Gen 49:9 "Judah is a lion's whelp; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He couches, he lies down as a lion, And as a lion, who dares rouse him up?(nas) Gen 49:9 σκύμνος λέοντος Ιουδα ἐκ βλαστοῦ υἱέ μου ἀνέβης ἀναπεσὼν ἐκοιμήθης ὡς λέων καὶ ὡς σκύμνος τίς ἐγερεῖ αὐτόν (lxx) Gen 49:9 Catulus leonis Juda: ad prædam, fili mi, ascendisti: requiescens accubuisti ut leo, et quasi leæna: quis suscitabit eum?(vulgate) 9 ׃49 גּ֤וּר אַרְיֵה֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִטֶּ֖רֶף בְּנִ֣י עָלִ֑יתָ כָּרַ֨ע רָבַ֧ץ כְּאַרְיֵ֛ה וּכְלָבִ֖יא מִ֥י יְקִימֶֽנּוּ׃ Genesis Gen 49:9 Juda ist ein junger Löwe. Du bist hoch gekommen, mein Sohn, durch große Siege. Er ist niedergekniet und hat sich gelagert wie ein Löwe und wie eine Löwin; wer will sich wider ihn auflehnen?(dhs) Gen 49:9 Judah is a lion's whelp; From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He bows down, he lies down as a lion; And as a lion, who shall rouse him?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:10 ============ Gen 49:10 "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes, And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.(nas) Gen 49:10 οὐκ ἐκλείψει ἄρχων ἐξ Ιουδα καὶ ἡγούμενος ἐκ τῶν μηρῶν αὐτοῦ ἕως ἂν ἔλθῃ τὰ ἀποκείμενα αὐτῷ καὶ αὐτὸς προσδοκία ἐθνῶν (lxx) Gen 49:10 Non auferetur sceptrum de Juda, et dux de femore ejus, donec veniat qui mittendus est, et ipse erit expectatio gentium.(vulgate) 10 ׃49 לֹֽא־יָס֥וּר שֵׁ֙בֶט֙ מִֽיהוּדָ֔ה וּמְחֹקֵ֖ק מִבֵּ֣ין רַגְלָ֑יו עַ֚ד כִּֽי־יָבֹ֣א *שילה **שִׁיל֔וֹ וְל֖וֹ יִקְּהַ֥ת עַמִּֽים׃ Genesis Gen 49:10 Es wird das Zepter von Juda nicht entwendet werden noch der Stab des Herrschers von seinen Füßen, bis daß der Held komme; und demselben werden die Völker anhangen.(dhs) Gen 49:10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:11 ============ Gen 49:11 "He ties his foal to the vine, And his donkey's colt to the choice vine; He washes his garments in wine, And his robes in the blood of grapes.(nas) Gen 49:11 δεσμεύων πρὸς ἄμπελον τὸν πῶλον αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ ἕλικι τὸν πῶλον τῆς ὄνου αὐτοῦ πλυνεῖ ἐν οἴνῳ τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν αἵματι σταφυλῆς τὴν περιβολὴν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Gen 49:11 Ligans ad vineam pullum suum, et ad vitem, o fili mi, asinam suam, lavabit in vino stolam suam et in sanguine uvæ pallium suum.(vulgate) 11 ׃49 אֹסְרִ֤י לַגֶּ֙פֶן֙ *עירה **עִיר֔וֹ וְלַשֹּׂרֵקָ֖ה בְּנִ֣י אֲתֹנ֑וֹ כִּבֵּ֤ס בַּיַּ֙יִן֙ לְבֻשׁ֔וֹ וּבְדַם־עֲנָבִ֖ים *סותה **סוּתֽוֹ׃ Genesis Gen 49:11 Er wird sein Füllen an den Weinstock binden und seiner Eselin Sohn an die edle Rebe. Er wird sein Kleid in Wein waschen und seinen Mantel im Weinbeerblut.(dhs) Gen 49:11 Binding his donkey to the vine, And his donkey's colt to the choice vine, He washed his garments in wine, And his clothes in the blood of grapes.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:12 ============ Gen 49:12 "His eyes are dull from wine, And his teeth white from milk.(nas) Gen 49:12 χαροποὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ οἴνου καὶ λευκοὶ οἱ ὀδόντες αὐτοῦ ἢ γάλα (lxx) Gen 49:12 Pulchriores sunt oculi ejus vino, et dentes ejus lacte candidiores.(vulgate) 12 ׃49 חַכְלִילִ֥י עֵינַ֖יִם מִיָּ֑יִן וּלְבֶן־שִׁנַּ֖יִם מֵחָלָֽב׃ פ Genesis Gen 49:12 Seine Augen sind trübe vom Wein und seine Zähne weiß von Milch.(dhs) Gen 49:12 His eyes are darker than wine, And his teeth whiter than milk.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:13 ============ Gen 49:13 "Zebulun will dwell at the seashore; And he shall be a haven for ships, And his flank shall be toward Sidon.(nas) Gen 49:13 Ζαβουλων παράλιος κατοικήσει καὶ αὐτὸς παρ᾽ ὅρμον πλοίων καὶ παρατενεῖ ἕως Σιδῶνος (lxx) Gen 49:13 Zabulon in littore maris habitabit, et in statione navium pertingens usque ad Sidonem.(vulgate) 13 ׃49 זְבוּלֻ֕ן לְח֥וֹף יַמִּ֖ים יִשְׁכֹּ֑ן וְהוּא֙ לְח֣וֹף אֳנִיּ֔וֹת וְיַרְכָת֖וֹ עַל־צִידֹֽן׃ ס Genesis Gen 49:13 Sebulon wird an der Anfurt des Meeres wohnen und an der Anfurt der Schiffe und reichen an Sidon.(dhs) Gen 49:13 "Zebulun shall dwell by the haven of the sea; He shall become a haven for ships, And his border shall adjoin Sidon.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:14 ============ Gen 49:14 "Issachar is a strong donkey, Lying down between the sheepfolds.(nas) Gen 49:14 Ισσαχαρ τὸ καλὸν ἐπεθύμησεν ἀναπαυόμενος ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν κλήρων (lxx) Gen 49:14 Issachar asinus fortis accubans inter terminos.(vulgate) 14 ׃49 יִשָּׂשכָ֖ר חֲמֹ֣ר גָּ֑רֶם רֹבֵ֖ץ בֵּ֥ין הַֽמִּשְׁפְּתָֽיִם׃ Genesis Gen 49:14 Isaschar wird ein knochiger Esel sein und sich lagern zwischen den Hürden.(dhs) Gen 49:14 "Issachar is a strong donkey, Lying down between two burdens;(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:15 ============ Gen 49:15 "When he saw that a resting place was good And that the land was pleasant, He bowed his shoulder to bear burdens, And became a slave at forced labor.(nas) Gen 49:15 καὶ ἰδὼν τὴν ἀνάπαυσιν ὅτι καλή καὶ τὴν γῆν ὅτι πίων ὑπέθηκεν τὸν ὦμον αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πονεῖν καὶ ἐγενήθη ἀνὴρ γεωργός (lxx) Gen 49:15 Vidit requiem, quod esset bona et terram, quod optima: et supposuit humerum suum ad portandum, factusque est tributis serviens.(vulgate) 15 ׃49 וַיַּ֤רְא מְנֻחָה֙ כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב וְאֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ כִּ֣י נָעֵ֑מָה וַיֵּ֤ט שִׁכְמוֹ֙ לִסְבֹּ֔ל וַיְהִ֖י לְמַס־עֹבֵֽד׃ ס Genesis Gen 49:15 Und er sah die Ruhe, daß sie gut ist, und das Land, daß es lustig ist; da hat er seine Schultern geneigt, zu tragen, und ist ein zinsbarer Knecht geworden.(dhs) Gen 49:15 He saw that rest was good, And that the land was pleasant; He bowed his shoulder to bear a burden, And became a band of slaves.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:16 ============ Gen 49:16 "Dan shall judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel.(nas) Gen 49:16 Δαν κρινεῖ τὸν ἑαυτοῦ λαὸν ὡσεὶ καὶ μία φυλὴ ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Gen 49:16 Dan judicabit populum suum sicut et alia tribus in Israël.(vulgate) 16 ׃49 דָּ֖ן יָדִ֣ין עַמּ֑וֹ כְּאַחַ֖ד שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Genesis Gen 49:16 Dan wird Richter sein in seinem Volk wie ein ander Geschlecht in Israel.(dhs) Gen 49:16 "Dan shall judge his people As one of the tribes of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:17 ============ Gen 49:17 "Dan shall be a serpent in the way, A horned snake in the path, That bites the horse's heels, So that his rider falls backward.(nas) Gen 49:17 καὶ γενηθήτω Δαν ὄφις ἐφ᾽ ὁδοῦ ἐγκαθήμενος ἐπὶ τρίβου δάκνων πτέρναν ἵππου καὶ πεσεῖται ὁ ἱππεὺς εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω (lxx) Gen 49:17 Fiat Dan coluber in via, cerastes in semita, mordens ungulas equi, ut cadat ascensor ejus retro.(vulgate) 17 ׃49 יְהִי־דָן֙ נָחָ֣שׁ עֲלֵי־דֶ֔רֶךְ שְׁפִיפֹ֖ן עֲלֵי־אֹ֑רַח הַנֹּשֵׁךְ֙ עִקְּבֵי־ס֔וּס וַיִּפֹּ֥ל רֹכְב֖וֹ אָחֽוֹר׃ Genesis Gen 49:17 Dan wird eine Schlange werden auf dem Wege und eine Otter auf dem Steige und das Pferd in die Ferse beißen, daß sein Reiter zurückfalle.(dhs) Gen 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, A viper by the path, That bites the horse's heels So that its rider shall fall backward.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:18 ============ Gen 49:18 "For Your salvation I wait, O Lord.(nas) Gen 49:18 τὴν σωτηρίαν περιμένω κυρίου (lxx) Gen 49:18 Salutare tuum expectabo, Domine.(vulgate) 18 ׃49 לִֽישׁוּעָתְךָ֖ קִוִּ֥יתִי יְהוָֽה׃ Genesis Gen 49:18 HERR, ich warte auf dein Heil!(dhs) Gen 49:18 I have waited for your salvation, O Lord!(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:19 ============ Gen 49:19 "As for Gad, raiders shall raid him, But he will raid at their heels.(nas) Gen 49:19 Γαδ πειρατήριον πειρατεύσει αὐτόν αὐτὸς δὲ πειρατεύσει αὐτῶν κατὰ πόδας (lxx) Gen 49:19 Gad, accinctus præliabatur ante eum: et ipse accingetur retrorsum.(vulgate) 19 ׃49 גָּ֖ד גְּד֣וּד יְגוּדֶ֑נּוּ וְה֖וּא יָגֻ֥ד עָקֵֽב׃ ס Genesis Gen 49:19 Gad wird gedrängt werden von Kriegshaufen, er aber drängt sie auf der Ferse.(dhs) Gen 49:19 "Gad, a troop shall tramp upon him, But he shall triumph at last.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:20 ============ Gen 49:20 "As for Asher, his food shall be rich, And he will yield royal dainties.(nas) Gen 49:20 Ασηρ πίων αὐτοῦ ὁ ἄρτος καὶ αὐτὸς δώσει τρυφὴν ἄρχουσιν (lxx) Gen 49:20 Aser, pinguis panis ejus, et præbebit delicias regibus.(vulgate) 20 ׃49 מֵאָשֵׁ֖ר שְׁמֵנָ֣ה לַחְמ֑וֹ וְה֥וּא יִתֵּ֖ן מַֽעֲדַנֵּי־מֶֽלֶךְ׃ ס Genesis Gen 49:20 Von Asser kommt sein fettes Brot, und er wird den Königen leckere Speise geben.(dhs) Gen 49:20 "Bread from Asher shall be rich, And he shall yield royal dainties.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 49:21 ============ Gen 49:21 "Naphtali is a doe let loose, He gives beautiful words.(nas) Gen 49:21 Νεφθαλι στέλεχος ἀνειμένον ἐπιδιδοὺς ἐν τῷ γενήματι κάλλος (lxx) Gen 49:21 Nephthali, cervus emissus, et dans eloquia pulchritudinis.(vulgate) 21 ׃49 נַפְתָּלִ֖י אַיָּלָ֣ה שְׁלֻחָ֑ה הַנֹּתֵ֖ן אִמְרֵי־שָֽׁפֶר׃ ס Genesis Gen 49:21 Naphthali ist ein schneller Hirsch und gibt schöne Rede.(dhs) Gen 49:21 "Naphtali is a deer let loose;
