Today's Date: ======= Joshua 13:1 ============ Jos 13:1 Now Joshua was old and advanced in years when the Lord said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and very much of the land remains to be possessed.(nas) Jos 13:1 καὶ Ἰησοῦς πρεσβύτερος προβεβηκὼς τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Ἰησοῦν σὺ προβέβηκας τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ ἡ γῆ ὑπολέλειπται πολλὴ εἰς κληρονομίαν (lxx) Jos 13:1 Josue senex provectæque ætatis erat, et dixit Dominus ad eum: Senuisti, et longævus es, terraque latissima derelicta est, quæ necdum sorte divisa est:(vulgate) 1 ׃13 וִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ זָקֵ֔ן בָּ֖א בַּיָּמִ֑ים וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלָ֗יו אַתָּ֤ה זָקַ֙נְתָּה֙ בָּ֣אתָ בַיָּמִ֔ים וְהָאָ֛רֶץ נִשְׁאֲרָ֥ה הַרְבֵּֽה־מְאֹ֖ד לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ Joshua Jos 13:1 Da nun Josua alt war und wohl betagt, sprach der HERR zu ihm: Du bist alt geworden und wohl betagt, und des Landes ist noch sehr viel übrig einzunehmen,(dhs) Jos 13:1 Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: "You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:2 ============ Jos 13:2 This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and all those of the Geshurites;(nas) Jos 13:2 καὶ αὕτη ἡ γῆ ἡ καταλελειμμένη ὅρια Φυλιστιιμ ὁ Γεσιρι καὶ ὁ Χαναναῖος (lxx) Jos 13:2 omnis videlicet Galilæa, Philisthiim, et universa Gessuri.(vulgate) 2 ׃13 זֹ֥את הָאָ֖רֶץ הַנִּשְׁאָ֑רֶת כָּל־גְּלִיל֥וֹת הַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וְכָל־הַגְּשׁוּרִֽי׃ Joshua Jos 13:2 nämlich alle Kreise der Philister und ganz Gessur,(dhs) Jos 13:2 This is the land that yet remains: all the territory of the Philistines and all that of the Geshurites,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:3 ============ Jos 13:3 from the Shihor which is east of Egypt, even as far as the border of Ekron to the north (it is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines: the Gazite, the Ashdodite, the Ashkelonite, the Gittite, the Ekronite; and the Avvite(nas) Jos 13:3 ἀπὸ τῆς ἀοικήτου τῆς κατὰ πρόσωπον Αἰγύπτου ἕως τῶν ὁρίων Ακκαρων ἐξ εὐωνύμων τῶν Χαναναίων προσλογίζεται ταῖς πέντε σατραπείαις τῶν Φυλιστιιμ τῷ Γαζαίῳ καὶ τῷ Ἀζωτίῳ καὶ τῷ Ἀσκαλωνίτῃ καὶ τῷ Γεθθαίῳ καὶ τῷ Ακκαρωνίτῃ καὶ τῷ Ευαίῳ (lxx) Jos 13:3 A fluvio turbido, qui irrigat Ægyptum, usque ad terminos Accaron contra aquilonem: terra Chanaan, quæ in quinque regulos Philisthiim dividitur, Gazæos, et Azotios, Ascalonitas, Gethæos, et Accaronitas.(vulgate) 3 ׃13 מִֽן־הַשִּׁיח֞וֹר אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י מִצְרַ֗יִם וְעַ֨ד גְּב֤וּל עֶקְרוֹן֙ צָפ֔וֹנָה לַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י תֵּחָשֵׁ֑ב חֲמֵ֣שֶׁת ׀ סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים הָעַזָּתִ֤י וְהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִי֙ הָאֶשְׁקְלוֹנִ֣י הַגִּתִּ֔י וְהָעֶקְרוֹנִ֖י וְהָעַוִּֽים׃ Joshua Jos 13:3 vom Sihor an, der vor Ägypten fließt bis an die Grenze Ekrons gegen Mitternacht, die den Kanaanitern zugerechnet wird, fünf Herren der Philister, nämlich der Gaziter, der Asdoditer, der Askaloniter, der Gathiter der Ekroniter, und die Avviter;(dhs) Jos 13:3 from Sihor, which is east of Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron northward (which is counted as Canaanite); the five lords of the Philistines--the Gazites, the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:4 ============ Jos 13:4 to the south, all the land of the Canaanite, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorite;(nas) Jos 13:4 ἐκ Θαιμαν καὶ πάσῃ γῇ Χανααν ἐναντίον Γάζης καὶ οἱ Σιδώνιοι ἕως Αφεκ ἕως τῶν ὁρίων τῶν Αμορραίων (lxx) Jos 13:4 Ad meridiem vero sunt Hevæi, omnis terra Chanaan, et Maara Sidoniorum, usque Apheca et terminos Amorrhæi,(vulgate) 4 ׃13 מִתֵּימָ֞ן כָּל־אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֗י וּמְעָרָ֛ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לַצִּידֹנִ֖ים עַד־אֲפֵ֑קָה עַ֖ד גְּב֥וּל הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃ Joshua Jos 13:4 vom Mittag an aber das ganze Land der Kanaaniter und Meara der Sidonier bis gen Aphek, bis an die Grenze der Amoriter;(dhs) Jos 13:4 from the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians as far as Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:5 ============ Jos 13:5 and the land of the Gebalite, and all of Lebanon, toward the east, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon as far as Lebo-hamath.(nas) Jos 13:5 καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν Γαβλι Φυλιστιιμ καὶ πάντα τὸν Λίβανον ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου ἀπὸ Γαλγαλ ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Αερμων ἕως τῆς εἰσόδου Εμαθ (lxx) Jos 13:5 ejusque confinia. Libani quoque regio contra orientem, a Baalgad sub monte Hermon, donec ingrediaris Emath;(vulgate) 5 ׃13 וְהָאָ֣רֶץ הַגִּבְלִ֗י וְכָל־הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ מִזְרַ֣ח הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ מִבַּ֣עַל גָּ֔ד תַּ֖חַת הַר־חֶרְמ֑וֹן עַ֖ד לְב֥וֹא חֲמָֽת׃ Joshua Jos 13:5 dazu das Land der Gebaliter und der ganze Libanon gegen der Sonne Aufgang, von Baal-Gad an unter dem Berge Hermon, bis man kommt gen Hamath.(dhs) Jos 13:5 the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon as far as the entrance to Hamath;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:6 ============ Jos 13:6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim, all the Sidonians, I will drive them out from before the sons of Israel; only allot it to Israel for an inheritance as I have commanded you.(nas) Jos 13:6 πᾶς ὁ κατοικῶν τὴν ὀρεινὴν ἀπὸ τοῦ Λιβάνου ἕως τῆς Μασερεφωθμαιμ πάντας τοὺς Σιδωνίους ἐγὼ αὐτοὺς ἐξολεθρεύσω ἀπὸ προσώπου Ισραηλ ἀλλὰ διάδος αὐτὴν ἐν κλήρῳ τῷ Ισραηλ ὃν τρόπον σοι ἐνετειλάμην (lxx) Jos 13:6 omnium qui habitant in monte a Libano usque ad aquas Maserephoth, universique Sidonii. Ego sum qui delebo eos a facie filiorum Israël. Veniat ergo in partem hæreditatis Israël, sicut præcepi tibi.(vulgate) 6 ׃13 כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָ֠הָר מִֽן־הַלְּבָנ֞וֹן עַד־מִשְׂרְפֹ֥ת מַ֙יִם֙ כָּל־צִ֣ידֹנִ֔ים אָֽנֹכִי֙ אוֹרִישֵׁ֔ם מִפְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל רַ֠ק הַפִּלֶ֤הָ לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּֽנַחֲלָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר צִוִּיתִֽיךָ׃ Joshua Jos 13:6 Alle, die auf dem Gebirge wohnen, vom Libanon an bis an die warmen Wasser, alle Sidonier: ich will sie vertreiben vor den Kindern Israel; lose nur darum, sie auszuteilen unter Israel, wie ich dir geboten habe.(dhs) Jos 13:6 all the inhabitants of the mountains from Lebanon as far as the Brook Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians--them I will drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide it by lot to Israel as an inheritance, as I have commanded you.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:7 ============ Jos 13:7 Now therefore, apportion this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh."(nas) Jos 13:7 καὶ νῦν μέρισον τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἐν κληρονομίᾳ ταῖς ἐννέα φυλαῖς καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση ἀπὸ τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἕως τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς μεγάλης κατὰ δυσμὰς ἡλίου δώσεις αὐτήν ἡ θάλασσα ἡ μεγάλη ὁριεῖ (lxx) Jos 13:7 Et nunc divide terram in possessionem novem tribubus, et dimidiæ tribui Manasse,(vulgate) 7 ׃13 וְעַתָּ֗ה חַלֵּ֞ק אֶת־הָאָ֧רֶץ הַזֹּ֛את בְּנַחֲלָ֖ה לְתִשְׁעַ֣ת הַשְּׁבָטִ֑ים וַחֲצִ֖י הַשֵּׁ֥בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ Joshua Jos 13:7 So teile nun dies Land zum Erbe unter die neun Stämme und unter den halben Stamm Manasse.(dhs) Jos 13:7 Now therefore, divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh."(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:8 ============ Jos 13:8 With the other half-tribe, the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Moses the servant of the Lord gave to them;(nas) Jos 13:8 ταῖς δὲ δύο φυλαῖς καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση τῷ Ρουβην καὶ τῷ Γαδ ἔδωκεν Μωυσῆς ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατ᾽ ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου δέδωκεν αὐτὴν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς κυρίου (lxx) Jos 13:8 cum qua Ruben et Gad possederunt terram, quam tradidit eis Moyses famulus Domini trans fluenta Jordanis, ad orientalem plagam.(vulgate) 8 ׃13 עִמּ֗וֹ הָרֽאוּבֵנִי֙ וְהַגָּדִ֔י לָקְח֖וּ נַחֲלָתָ֑ם אֲשֶׁר֩ נָתַ֨ן לָהֶ֜ם מֹשֶׁ֗ה בְּעֵ֤בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה כַּאֲשֶׁר֙ נָתַ֣ן לָהֶ֔ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֥בֶד יְהוָֽה׃ Joshua Jos 13:8 Denn die Rubeniter und Gaditer haben mit dem andern halben Manasse ihr Erbteil empfangen, das ihnen Mose gab jenseit des Jordans, gegen Aufgang, wie ihnen dasselbe Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gegeben hat,(dhs) Jos 13:8 With the other half tribe the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses had given them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord had given them:(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:9 ============ Jos 13:9 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, with the city which is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba, as far as Dibon;(nas) Jos 13:9 ἀπὸ Αροηρ ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους χειμάρρου Αρνων καὶ τὴν πόλιν τὴν ἐν μέσῳ τῆς φάραγγος καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν Μισωρ ἀπὸ Μαιδαβα ἕως Δαιβαν (lxx) Jos 13:9 Ab Aroër, quæ sita est in ripa torrentis Arnon, et in vallis medio, universaque campestria Medaba, usque Dibon,(vulgate) 9 ׃13 מֵעֲרוֹעֵ֡ר אֲשֶׁר֩ עַל־שְׂפַת־נַ֨חַל אַרְנ֜וֹן וְהָעִ֨יר אֲשֶׁ֧ר בְּתוֹךְ־הַנַּ֛חַל וְכָל־הַמִּישֹׁ֥ר מֵידְבָ֖א עַד־דִּיבֽוֹן׃ Joshua Jos 13:9 von Aroer an, das am Ufer des Bachs Arnon liegt, und von der Stadt mitten im Tal und die ganze Ebene Medeba bis gen Dibon(dhs) Jos 13:9 from Aroer which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and the town that is in the midst of the ravine, and all the plain of Medeba as far as Dibon;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:10 ============ Jos 13:10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the sons of Ammon;(nas) Jos 13:10 πάσας τὰς πόλεις Σηων βασιλέως Αμορραίων ὃς ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Εσεβων ἕως τῶν ὁρίων υἱῶν Αμμων (lxx) Jos 13:10 et cunctas civitates Sehon regis Amorrhæi, qui regnavit in Hesebon, usque ad terminos filiorum Ammon,(vulgate) 10 ׃13 וְכֹ֗ל עָרֵי֙ סִיחוֹן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָלַ֖ךְ בְּחֶשְׁבּ֑וֹן עַד־גְּב֖וּל בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃ Joshua Jos 13:10 und alle Städte Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der zu Hesbon saß, bis an die Grenze der Kinder Ammon,(dhs) Jos 13:10 all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the children of Ammon;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:11 ============ Jos 13:11 and Gilead, and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salecah;(nas) Jos 13:11 καὶ τὴν Γαλααδίτιδα καὶ τὰ ὅρια Γεσιρι καὶ τοῦ Μαχατι πᾶν ὄρος Αερμων καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν Βασανῖτιν ἕως Σελχα (lxx) Jos 13:11 et Galaad, ac terminum Gessuri et Machati, et omnem montem Hermon, et universam Basan, usque ad Salecha,(vulgate) 11 ׃13 וְהַגִּלְעָ֞ד וּגְב֧וּל הַגְּשׁוּרִ֣י וְהַמַּעֲכָתִ֗י וְכֹ֨ל הַ֥ר חֶרְמ֛וֹן וְכָל־הַבָּשָׁ֖ן עַד־סַלְכָֽה׃ Joshua Jos 13:11 dazu Gilead und das Gebiet von Gessur und Maacha und den ganzen Berg Hermon und das ganze Basan bis gen Salcha(dhs) Jos 13:11 Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salcah;(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:12 ============ Jos 13:12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for Moses struck them and dispossessed them.(nas) Jos 13:12 πᾶσαν τὴν βασιλείαν Ωγ ἐν τῇ Βασανίτιδι ὃς ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ασταρωθ καὶ ἐν Εδραϊν οὗτος κατελείφθη ἀπὸ τῶν γιγάντων καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν Μωυσῆς καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσεν (lxx) Jos 13:12 omne regnum Og in Basan, qui regnavit in Astaroth et Edrai, ipse fuit de reliquiis Raphaim: percussitque eos Moyses, atque delevit.(vulgate) 12 ׃13 כָּל־מַמְלְכ֥וּת עוֹג֙ בַּבָּשָׁ֔ן אֲשֶׁר־מָלַ֥ךְ בְּעַשְׁתָּר֖וֹת וּבְאֶדְרֶ֑עִי ה֤וּא נִשְׁאַר֙ מִיֶּ֣תֶר הָרְפָאִ֔ים וַיַּכֵּ֥ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה וַיֹּרִשֵֽׁם׃ Joshua Jos 13:12 (das ganze Reich Ogs von Basan, der zu Astharoth und Edrei saß, welcher noch übrig war von den Riesen. Mose aber schlug sie und vertrieb sie.(dhs) Jos 13:12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants; for Moses had defeated and cast out these.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:13 ============ Jos 13:13 But the sons of Israel did not dispossess the Geshurites or the Maacathites; for Geshur and Maacath live among Israel until this day.(nas) Jos 13:13 καὶ οὐκ ἐξωλέθρευσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ τὸν Γεσιρι καὶ τὸν Μαχατι καὶ τὸν Χαναναῖον καὶ κατῴκει βασιλεὺς Γεσιρι καὶ ὁ Μαχατι ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἕως τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας (lxx) Jos 13:13 Nolueruntque disperdere filii Israël Gessuri et Machati: et habitaverunt in medio Israël usque in præsentem diem.(vulgate) 13 ׃13 וְלֹ֤א הוֹרִ֙ישׁוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶת־הַגְּשׁוּרִ֖י וְאֶת־הַמַּעֲכָתִ֑י וַיֵּ֨שֶׁב גְּשׁ֤וּר וּמַֽעֲכָת֙ בְּקֶ֣רֶב יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ Joshua Jos 13:13 Die Kinder Israel vertrieben aber die zu Gessur und zu Maacha nicht, sondern es wohnten beide, Gessur und Maacha, unter den Kindern Israel bis auf diesen Tag).(dhs) Jos 13:13 Nevertheless the children of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maachathites, but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 13:14 ============ Jos 13:14 Only to the tribe of Levi he did not give an inheritance; the offerings by fire to the Lord, the God of Israel, are their inheritance, as He spoke to him.(nas) Jos 13:14 πλὴν τῆς φυλῆς Λευι οὐκ ἐδόθη κληρονομία κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ οὗτος αὐτῶν κληρονομία καθὰ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς κύριος καὶ οὗτος ὁ καταμερισμός ὃν κατεμέρισεν Μωυσῆς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἐν Αραβωθ Μωαβ ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατὰ Ιεριχω (lxx) Jos 13:14 Tribui autem Levi non dedit possessionem: sed sacrificia et victimæ Domini Dei Israël, ipsa est ejus hæreditas, sicut locutus est illi.~(vulgate) 14 ׃13 רַ֚ק לְשֵׁ֣בֶט הַלֵּוִ֔י לֹ֥א נָתַ֖ן נַחֲלָ֑ה אִשֵּׁ֨י יְהוָ֜ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ ה֣וּא נַחֲלָת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּר־לֽוֹ׃ ס Joshua Jos 13:14 Aber dem Stamm der Leviten gab er kein Ertbteil; denn das Opfer des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, ist ihr Erbteil, wie er ihnen geredet hat.(dhs) Jos 13:14 ejusdem torrentis media: universam planitiem, quæ ducit Medaba,(vulgate) 16 ׃13 וַיְהִ֨י לָהֶ֜ם הַגְּב֗וּל מֵעֲרוֹעֵ֡ר אֲשֶׁר֩ עַל־שְׂפַת־נַ֨חַל אַרְנ֜וֹן וְהָעִ֨יר אֲשֶׁ֧ר בְּתוֹךְ־הַנַּ֛חַל
