Today's Date: ======= Joshua 16:1 ============ Jos 16:1 Then the lot for the sons of Joseph went from the Jordan at Jericho to the waters of Jericho on the east into the wilderness, going up from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel.(nas) Jos 16:1 καὶ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅρια υἱῶν Ιωσηφ ἀπὸ τοῦ Ιορδάνου τοῦ κατὰ Ιεριχω ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν καὶ ἀναβήσεται ἀπὸ Ιεριχω εἰς τὴν ὀρεινὴν τὴν ἔρημον εἰς Βαιθηλ Λουζα (lxx) Jos 16:1 Cecidit quoque sors filiorum Joseph ab Jordane contra Jericho et aquas ejus ab oriente: solitudo quæ ascendit de Jericho ad montem Bethel:(vulgate) 1 ׃16 וַיֵּצֵ֨א הַגּוֹרָ֜ל לִבְנֵ֤י יוֹסֵף֙ מִיַּרְדֵּ֣ן יְרִיח֔וֹ לְמֵ֥י יְרִיח֖וֹ מִזְרָ֑חָה הַמִּדְבָּ֗ר עֹלֶ֧ה מִירִיח֛וֹ בָּהָ֖ר בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃ Joshua Jos 16:1 Und das Los fiel den Kindern Joseph aufgangwärts vom Jordan gegenüber Jericho bis zum Wasser bei Jericho, und die Wüste, die heraufgeht von Jericho durch das Gebirge gen Beth-El;(dhs) Jos 16:1 The lot fell to the children of Joseph from the Jordan, by Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho through the mountains to Bethel,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:2 ============ Jos 16:2 It went from Bethel to Luz, and continued to the border of the Archites at Ataroth.(nas) Jos 16:2 καὶ ἐξελεύσεται εἰς Βαιθηλ καὶ παρελεύσεται ἐπὶ τὰ ὅρια τοῦ Χαταρωθι (lxx) Jos 16:2 et egreditur de Bethel Luza: transitque terminum Archi, Ataroth:(vulgate) 2 ׃16 וְיָצָ֥א מִבֵּֽית־אֵ֖ל ל֑וּזָה וְעָבַ֛ר אֶל־גְּב֥וּל הָאַרְכִּ֖י עֲטָרֽוֹת׃ Joshua Jos 16:2 und kommt von Beth-El heraus gen Lus und geht durch zur Grenze des Arachiters gen Ataroth(dhs) Jos 16:2 then went out from Bethel to Luz, passed along to the border of the Archites at Ataroth,(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:3 ============ Jos 16:3 It went down westward to the territory of the Japhletites, as far as the territory of lower Beth-horon even to Gezer, and it ended at the sea.(nas) Jos 16:3 καὶ διελεύσεται ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν ἐπὶ τὰ ὅρια Απταλιμ ἕως τῶν ὁρίων Βαιθωρων τὴν κάτω καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν (lxx) Jos 16:3 et descendit ad occidentem juxta terminum Jephleti, usque ad terminos Beth-horon inferioris, et Gazer: finiunturque regiones ejus mari magno:(vulgate) 3 ׃16 וְיָֽרַד־יָ֜מָּה אֶל־גְּב֣וּל הַיַּפְלֵטִ֗י עַ֣ד גְּב֧וּל בֵּית־חוֹרֹ֛ן תַּחְתּ֖וֹן וְעַד־גָּ֑זֶר וְהָי֥וּ *תצאתו **תֹצְאֹתָ֖יו יָֽמָּה׃ Joshua Jos 16:3 und zieht sich hernieder abendwärts zu der Grenze des Japhletiters bis an die Grenze des niederen Beth-Horon und bis gen Geser; und das Ende ist am Meer.(dhs) Jos 16:3 and went down westward to the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Lower Beth Horon to Gezer; and it ended at the sea.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:4 ============ Jos 16:4 The sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.(nas) Jos 16:4 καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιωσηφ Εφραιμ καὶ Μανασση (lxx) Jos 16:4 possederuntque filii Joseph, Manasses et Ephraim.~(vulgate) 4 ׃16 וַיִּנְחֲל֥וּ בְנֵי־יוֹסֵ֖ף מְנַשֶּׁ֥ה וְאֶפְרָֽיִם׃ Joshua Jos 16:4 Das haben zum Erbteil genommen die Kinder Josephs, Manasse und Ephraim.(dhs) Jos 16:4 So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:5 ============ Jos 16:5 Now this was the territory of the sons of Ephraim according to their families: the border of their inheritance eastward was Ataroth-addar, as far as upper Beth-horon.(nas) Jos 16:5 καὶ ἐγενήθη ὅρια υἱῶν Εφραιμ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ ὅρια τῆς κληρονομίας αὐτῶν ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν Αταρωθ καὶ Εροκ ἕως Βαιθωρων τὴν ἄνω καὶ Γαζαρα (lxx) Jos 16:5 Et factus est terminus filiorum Ephraim per cognationes suas: et possessio eorum contra orientem Ataroth Addar usque Beth-horon superiorem.(vulgate) 5 ׃16 וַיְהִ֛י גְּב֥וּל בְּנֵֽי־אֶפְרַ֖יִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם וַיְהִ֞י גְּב֤וּל נַחֲלָתָם֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה עַטְר֣וֹת אַדָּ֔ר עַד־בֵּ֥ית חוֹרֹ֖ן עֶלְיֽוֹן׃ Joshua Jos 16:5 Die Grenze der Kinder Ephraim nach ihren Geschlechtern, die Grenze ihres Erbteils aufgangwärts, war Ataroth-Adar bis zum obern Beth-Horon(dhs) Jos 16:5 The border of the children of Ephraim, according to their families, was thus: The border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroth Addar as far as Upper Beth Horon.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:6 ============ Jos 16:6 Then the border went westward at Michmethath on the north, and the border turned about eastward to Taanath-shiloh and continued beyond it to the east of Janoah.(nas) Jos 16:6 καὶ διελεύσεται τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν εἰς Ικασμων ἀπὸ βορρᾶ Θερμα περιελεύσεται ἐπὶ ἀνατολὰς εἰς Θηνασα καὶ Σελλησα καὶ παρελεύσεται ἀπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν εἰς Ιανωκα (lxx) Jos 16:6 Egrediunturque confinia in mare: Machmethath vero aquilonem respicit, et circuit terminos contra orientem in Thanathselo: et pertransit ab oriente Janoë.(vulgate) 6 ׃16 וְיָצָ֨א הַגְּב֜וּל הַיָּ֗מָּה הַֽמִּכְמְתָת֙ מִצָּפ֔וֹן וְנָסַ֧ב הַגְּב֛וּל מִזְרָ֖חָה תַּאֲנַ֣ת שִׁלֹ֑ה וְעָבַ֣ר אוֹת֔וֹ מִמִּזְרַ֖ח יָנֽוֹחָה׃ Joshua Jos 16:6 und geht aus gegen Abend bei Michmethath, das gegen Mitternacht liegt; daselbst lenkt sie sich herum gegen Aufgang gen Thaanath-Silo und geht da durch aufgangwärts gen Janoha(dhs) Jos 16:6 And the border went out toward the sea on the north side of Michmethath; then the border went around eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed by it on the east of Janohah.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:7 ============ Jos 16:7 It went down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, then reached Jericho and came out at the Jordan.(nas) Jos 16:7 καὶ εἰς Μαχω καὶ Αταρωθ καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλεύσεται ἐπὶ Ιεριχω καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἐπὶ τὸν Ιορδάνην (lxx) Jos 16:7 Descenditque de Janoë in Ataroth et Naaratha: et pervenit in Jericho, egrediturque ad Jordanem.(vulgate) 7 ׃16 וְיָרַ֥ד מִיָּנ֖וֹחָה עֲטָר֣וֹת וְנַעֲרָ֑תָה וּפָגַע֙ בִּֽירִיח֔וֹ וְיָצָ֖א הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃ Joshua Jos 16:7 und kommt herab von Janoha gen Ataroth und Naarath und stößt an Jericho und geht aus am Jordan;(dhs) Jos 16:7 Then it went down from Janohah to Ataroth and Naarah, reached to Jericho, and came out at the Jordan.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:8 ============ Jos 16:8 From Tappuah the border continued westward to the brook of Kanah, and it ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim according to their families,(nas) Jos 16:8 καὶ ἀπὸ Ταφου πορεύσεται τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ θάλασσαν ἐπὶ Χελκανα καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος αὐτῶν ἐπὶ θάλασσαν αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία φυλῆς Εφραιμ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν (lxx) Jos 16:8 De Taphua pertransit contra mare in vallem arundineti, suntque egressus ejus in mare salsissimum. Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Ephraim per familias suas.(vulgate) 8 ׃16 מִתַּפּ֜וּחַ יֵלֵ֨ךְ הַגְּב֥וּל יָ֙מָּה֙ נַ֣חַל קָנָ֔ה וְהָי֥וּ תֹצְאֹתָ֖יו הַיָּ֑מָּה זֹ֗את נַחֲלַ֛ת מַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵי־אֶפְרַ֖יִם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃ Joshua Jos 16:8 von Thappuah geht sie abendwärts zum Bach Kana; und ihr Ende ist am Meer. Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Kinder Ephraim nach ihren Geschlechtern.(dhs) Jos 16:8 The border went out from Tappuah westward to the Brook Kanah, and it ended at the sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:9 ============ Jos 16:9 together with the cities which were set apart for the sons of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.(nas) Jos 16:9 καὶ αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἀφορισθεῖσαι τοῖς υἱοῖς Εφραιμ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς κληρονομίας υἱῶν Μανασση πᾶσαι αἱ πόλεις καὶ αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν (lxx) Jos 16:9 Urbesque separatæ sunt filiis Ephraim in medio possessionis filiorum Manasse, et villæ earum.(vulgate) 9 ׃16 וְהֶעָרִ֗ים הַמִּבְדָּלוֹת֙ לִבְנֵ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם בְּת֖וֹךְ נַחֲלַ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה כָּֽל־הֶעָרִ֖ים וְחַצְרֵיהֶֽן׃ Joshua Jos 16:9 dazu alle Städte mit ihren Dörfern, welche für die Kinder Ephraim ausgesondert waren unter dem Erbteil der Kinder Manasse.(dhs) Jos 16:9 The separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 16:10 ============ Jos 16:10 But they did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the Canaanites live in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and they became forced laborers.(nas) Jos 16:10 καὶ οὐκ ἀπώλεσεν Εφραιμ τὸν Χαναναῖον τὸν κατοικοῦντα ἐν Γαζερ καὶ κατῴκει ὁ Χαναναῖος ἐν τῷ Εφραιμ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης ἕως ἀνέβη Φαραω βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐνέπρησεν αὐτὴν ἐν πυρί καὶ τοὺς Χαναναίους καὶ τοὺς Φερεζαίους καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Γαζερ ἐξεκέντησαν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν Φαραω ἐν φερνῇ τῇ θυγατρὶ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jos 16:10 Et non interfecerunt filii Ephraim Chananæum, qui habitabat in Gazer: habitavitque Chananæus in medio Ephraim usque in diem hanc tributarius.(vulgate) 10 ׃16 וְלֹ֣א הוֹרִ֔ישׁוּ אֶת־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י הַיּוֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּגָ֑זֶר וַיֵּ֨שֶׁב הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֜י בְּקֶ֤רֶב אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ עַד־הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה וַיְהִ֖י לְמַס־עֹבֵֽד׃ פ Joshua Jos 16:10 Und sie vertrieben die Kanaaniter nicht, die zu Geser wohnten; also blieben die Kanaaniter unter Ephraim bis auf diesen Tag und wurden zinsbar.(dhs) Jos 16:10 And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day and have become forced laborers.(nkjv) ======= Joshua 17:1 ============ top of the page
