Today's Date: ======= Judges 14:1 ============ Jdg 14:1 Then Samson went down to Timnah and saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines.(nas) Jdg 14:1 καὶ κατέβη Σαμψων εἰς Θαμναθα καὶ εἶδεν γυναῖκα εἰς Θαμναθα ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν ἀλλοφύλων (lxx) Jdg 14:1 Descendit ergo Samson in Thamnatha: vidensque ibi mulierem de filiabus Philisthiim,(vulgate) 1 ׃14 וַיֵּ֥רֶד שִׁמְשׁ֖וֹן תִּמְנָ֑תָה וַיַּ֥רְא אִשָּׁ֛ה בְּתִמְנָ֖תָה מִבְּנ֥וֹת פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃ Judges Jdg 14:1 Simson ging gen Thimnath und sah ein Weib zu Thimnath unter den Töchtern der Philister.(dhs) Jdg 14:1 Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:2 ============ Jdg 14:2 So he came back and told his father and mother, "I saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife."(nas) Jdg 14:2 καὶ ἀνέβη καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν γυναῖκα ἑόρακα ἐν Θαμναθα ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων Φυλιστιιμ καὶ νῦν λάβετε αὐτὴν ἐμοὶ εἰς γυναῖκα (lxx) Jdg 14:2 ascendit, et nuntiavit patri suo et matri suæ, dicens: Vidi mulierem in Thamnatha de filiabus Philisthinorum: quam quæso ut mihi accipiatis uxorem.(vulgate) 2 ׃14 וַיַּ֗עַל וַיַּגֵּד֙ לְאָבִ֣יו וּלְאִמּ֔וֹ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אִשָּׁ֛ה רָאִ֥יתִי בְתִמְנָ֖תָה מִבְּנ֣וֹת פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וְעַתָּ֕ה קְחוּ־אוֹתָ֥הּ לִּ֖י לְאִשָּֽׁה׃ Judges Jdg 14:2 Und da er heraufkam, sagte er's an seinem Vater und seiner Mutter und sprach: Ich habe ein Weib gesehen zu Thimnath unter den Töchtern der Philister; gebt mir nun diese zum Weibe.(dhs) Jdg 14:2 So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, "I have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife."(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:3 ============ Jdg 14:3 Then his father and his mother said to him, "Is there no woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?" But Samson said to his father, "Get her for me, for she looks good to me."(nas) Jdg 14:3 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ μὴ οὔκ εἰσιν θυγατέρες τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου καὶ ἐκ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ μου γυνή ὅτι σὺ πορεύῃ λαβεῖν γυναῖκα ἀπὸ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων τῶν ἀπεριτμήτων καὶ εἶπεν Σαμψων πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ ταύτην λαβέ μοι ὅτι αὕτη εὐθεῖα ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς μου (lxx) Jdg 14:3 Cui dixerunt pater et mater sua: Numquid non est mulier in filiabus fratrum tuorum, et in omni populo meo, quia vis accipere uxorem de Philisthiim, qui incircumcisi sunt? Dixitque Samson ad patrem suum: Hanc mihi accipe: quia placuit oculis meis.(vulgate) 3 ׃14 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר ל֜וֹ אָבִ֣יו וְאִמּ֗וֹ הַאֵין֩ בִּבְנ֨וֹת אַחֶ֤יךָ וּבְכָל־עַמִּי֙ אִשָּׁ֔ה כִּֽי־אַתָּ֤ה הוֹלֵךְ֙ לָקַ֣חַת אִשָּׁ֔ה מִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים הָעֲרֵלִ֑ים וַיֹּ֨אמֶר שִׁמְשׁ֤וֹן אֶל־אָבִיו֙ אוֹתָ֣הּ קַֽח־לִ֔י כִּֽי־הִ֖יא יָשְׁרָ֥ה בְעֵינָֽי׃ Judges Jdg 14:3 Sein Vater und sein Mutter sprachen zu ihm: Ist denn nun kein Weib unter den Töchtern deiner Brüder und in allem deinem Volk, daß du hingehst und nimmst ein Weib bei den Philistern, die unbeschnitten sind? Simson sprach zu seinem Vater: Gib mir diese; denn sie gefällt meinen Augen.(dhs) Jdg 14:3 Then his father and mother said to him, "Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?" And Samson said to his father, "Get her for me, for she pleases me well."(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:4 ============ Jdg 14:4 However, his father and mother did not know that it was of the Lord, for He was seeking an occasion against the Philistines. Now at that time the Philistines were ruling over Israel.(nas) Jdg 14:4 καὶ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὅτι παρὰ κυρίου ἐστίν ὅτι ἐκδίκησιν αὐτὸς ζητεῖ ἐκ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι κυριεύοντες ἐν Ισραηλ (lxx) Jdg 14:4 Parentes autem ejus nesciebant quod res a Domino fieret, et quæreret occasionem contra Philisthiim: eo enim tempore Philisthiim dominabantur Israëli.(vulgate) 4 ׃14 וְאָבִ֨יו וְאִמּ֜וֹ לֹ֣א יָדְע֗וּ כִּ֤י מֵיְהוָה֙ הִ֔יא כִּי־תֹאֲנָ֥ה הֽוּא־מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ מִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וּבָעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים מֹשְׁלִ֥ים בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ Judges Jdg 14:4 Aber sein Vater und seine Mutter wußten nicht, daß es von dem HERRN wäre; denn er suchte Ursache wider die Philister. Die Philister aber herrschten zu der Zeit über Israel.(dhs) Jdg 14:4 But his father and mother did not know that it was of the Lord--that He was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines. For at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:5 ============ Jdg 14:5 Then Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came as far as the vineyards of Timnah; and behold, a young lion came roaring toward him.(nas) Jdg 14:5 καὶ κατέβη Σαμψων καὶ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ εἰς Θαμναθα καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος Θαμναθα καὶ ἰδοὺ σκύμνος λέοντος ὠρυόμενος εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 14:5 Descendit itaque Samson cum patre suo et matre in Thamnatha. Cumque venissent ad vineas oppidi, apparuit catulus leonis sævus, et rugiens, et occurrit ei.(vulgate) 5 ׃14 וַיֵּ֧רֶד שִׁמְשׁ֛וֹן וְאָבִ֥יו וְאִמּ֖וֹ תִּמְנָ֑תָה וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ עַד־כַּרְמֵ֣י תִמְנָ֔תָה וְהִנֵּה֙ כְּפִ֣יר אֲרָי֔וֹת שֹׁאֵ֖ג לִקְרָאתֽוֹ׃ Judges Jdg 14:5 Also ging Simson hinab mit seinem Vater und seiner Mutter gen Thimnath. Und als sie kamen an die Weinberge zu Thimnath, siehe, da kam ein junger Löwe brüllend ihm entgegen.(dhs) Jdg 14:5 So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah.Now to his surprise, a young lion came roaring against him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:6 ============ Jdg 14:6 The Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily, so that he tore him as one tears a young goat though he had nothing in his hand; but he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.(nas) Jdg 14:6 καὶ ἥλατο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ συνέτριψεν αὐτόν ὡσεὶ συντρίψει ἔριφον καὶ οὐδὲν ἦν ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ ὃ ἐποίησεν (lxx) Jdg 14:6 Irruit autem spiritus Domini in Samson, et dilaceravit leonem, quasi hædum in frustra discerpens, nihil omnino habens in manu: et hoc patri et matri noluit indicare.(vulgate) 6 ׃14 וַתִּצְלַ֨ח עָלָ֜יו ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֗ה וַֽיְשַׁסְּעֵ֙הוּ֙ כְּשַׁסַּ֣ע הַגְּדִ֔י וּמְא֖וּמָה אֵ֣ין בְּיָד֑וֹ וְלֹ֤א הִגִּיד֙ לְאָבִ֣יו וּלְאִמּ֔וֹ אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָֽׂה׃ Judges Jdg 14:6 Und der Geist des HERRN geriet über ihn, und er zerriß ihn, wie man ein Böcklein zerreißt, und hatte doch gar nichts in seiner Hand. Und sagte es nicht an seinem Vater noch seiner Mutter, was er getan hatte.(dhs) Jdg 14:6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:7 ============ Jdg 14:7 So he went down and talked to the woman; and she looked good to Samson.(nas) Jdg 14:7 καὶ κατέβησαν καὶ ἐλάλησαν τῇ γυναικί καὶ ηὐθύνθη ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς Σαμψων (lxx) Jdg 14:7 Descenditque, et locutus est mulieri quæ placuerat oculis ejus.(vulgate) 7 ׃14 וַיֵּ֖רֶד וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר לָאִשָּׁ֑ה וַתִּישַׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י שִׁמְשֽׁוֹן׃ Judges Jdg 14:7 Da er nun hinabkam redete er mit dem Weibe, und sie gefiel Simson in seinen Augen.(dhs) Jdg 14:7 Then he went down and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:8 ============ Jdg 14:8 When he returned later to take her, he turned aside to look at the carcass of the lion; and behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the body of the lion.(nas) Jdg 14:8 καὶ ὑπέστρεψεν μεθ᾽ ἡμέρας λαβεῖν αὐτὴν καὶ ἐξέκλινεν ἰδεῖν τὸ πτῶμα τοῦ λέοντος καὶ ἰδοὺ συναγωγὴ μελισσῶν ἐν τῷ στόματι τοῦ λέοντος καὶ μέλι (lxx) Jdg 14:8 Et post aliquot dies revertens ut acciperet eam, declinavit ut videret cadaver leonis, et ecce examen apum in ore leonis erat ac favus mellis.(vulgate) 8 ׃14 וַיָּ֤שָׁב מִיָּמִים֙ לְקַחְתָּ֔הּ וַיָּ֣סַר לִרְא֔וֹת אֵ֖ת מַפֶּ֣לֶת הָאַרְיֵ֑ה וְהִנֵּ֨ה עֲדַ֧ת דְּבוֹרִ֛ים בִּגְוִיַּ֥ת הָאַרְיֵ֖ה וּדְבָֽשׁ׃ Judges Jdg 14:8 Und nach etlichen Tagen kam er wieder, daß er sie nähme; und trat aus dem Wege, daß er das Aas des Löwen besähe. Siehe, da war ein Bienenschwarm in dem Leibe des Löwen und Honig.(dhs) Jdg 14:8 After some time, when he returned to get her, he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion. And behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the carcass of the lion.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:9 ============ Jdg 14:9 So he scraped the honey into his hands and went on, eating as he went. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they ate it; but he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey out of the body of the lion.(nas) Jdg 14:9 καὶ ἐξεῖλεν αὐτὸ εἰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύετο πορευόμενος καὶ ἐσθίων καὶ ἐπορεύθη πρὸς τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν μητέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ οὐκ ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἀπὸ τοῦ στόματος τοῦ λέοντος ἐξεῖλεν τὸ μέλι (lxx) Jdg 14:9 Quem cum sumpsisset in manibus comedebat in via: veniensque ad patrem suum et matrem, dedit eis partem, qui et ipsi comederunt: nec tamen eis voluit indicare quod mel de corpore leonis assumpserat.~(vulgate) 9 ׃14 וַיִּרְדֵּ֣הוּ אֶל־כַּפָּ֗יו וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ הָלוֹךְ֙ וְאָכֹ֔ל וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶל־אָבִ֣יו וְאֶל־אִמּ֔וֹ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן לָהֶ֖ם וַיֹּאכֵ֑לוּ וְלֹֽא־הִגִּ֣יד לָהֶ֔ם כִּ֛י מִגְּוִיַּ֥ת הָאַרְיֵ֖ה רָדָ֥ה הַדְּבָֽשׁ׃ Judges Jdg 14:9 Und er nahm ihn in seine Hand und aß davon unterwegs und ging zu seinem Vater und zu seiner Mutter und gab ihnen, daß sie auch aßen. Er sagte ihnen aber nicht an, daß er den Honig aus des Löwen Leibe genommen hatte.(dhs) Jdg 14:9 He took some of it in his hands and went along, eating. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them, and they also ate. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey out of the carcass of the lion.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:10 ============ Jdg 14:10 Then his father went down to the woman; and Samson made a feast there, for the young men customarily did this.(nas) Jdg 14:10 καὶ κατέβη ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ Σαμψων πότον ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ὅτι οὕτως ποιοῦσιν οἱ νεανίσκοι (lxx) Jdg 14:10 Descendit itaque pater ejus ad mulierem, et fecit filio suo Samson convivium: sic enim juvenes facere consueverant.(vulgate) 10 ׃14 וַיֵּ֥רֶד אָבִ֖יהוּ אֶל־הָאִשָּׁ֑ה וַיַּ֨עַשׂ שָׁ֤ם שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ מִשְׁתֶּ֔ה כִּ֛י כֵּ֥ן יַעֲשׂ֖וּ הַבַּחוּרִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 14:10 Und da sein Vater hinabkam zu dem Weibe, machte Simson daselbst eine Hochzeit, wie die Jünglinge zu tun pflegen.(dhs) Jdg 14:10 So his father went down to the woman. And Samson gave a feast there, for young men used to do so.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:11 ============ Jdg 14:11 When they saw him, they brought thirty companions to be with him.(nas) Jdg 14:11 καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε εἶδον αὐτόν καὶ ἔλαβον τριάκοντα κλητούς καὶ ἦσαν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 14:11 Cum ergo cives loci illius vidissent eum, dederunt ei sodales triginta ut essent cum eo.(vulgate) 11 ׃14 וַיְהִ֖י כִּרְאוֹתָ֣ם אוֹת֑וֹ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים מֵֽרֵעִ֔ים וַיִּהְי֖וּ אִתּֽוֹ׃ Judges Jdg 14:11 Und da sie ihn sahen, gaben sie ihm dreißig Gesellen zu, die bei ihm sein sollten.(dhs) Jdg 14:11 And it happened, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:12 ============ Jdg 14:12 Then Samson said to them, "Let me now propound a riddle to you; if you will indeed tell it to me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty linen wraps and thirty changes of clothes.(nas) Jdg 14:12 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Σαμψων πρόβλημα ὑμῖν προβάλλομαι ἐὰν ἀπαγγέλλοντες ἀπαγγείλητε αὐτὸ ἐν ταῖς ἑπτὰ ἡμέραις τοῦ πότου καὶ εὕρητε δώσω ὑμῖν τριάκοντα σινδόνας καὶ τριάκοντα στολὰς ἱματίων (lxx) Jdg 14:12 Quibus locutus est Samson: Proponam vobis problema: quod si solveritis mihi intra septem dies convivii, dabo vobis triginta sindones, et totidem tunicas:(vulgate) 12 ׃14 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן אָחֽוּדָה־נָּ֥א לָכֶ֖ם חִידָ֑ה אִם־הַגֵּ֣ד תַּגִּידוּ֩ אוֹתָ֨הּ לִ֜י שִׁבְעַ֨ת יְמֵ֤י הַמִּשְׁתֶּה֙ וּמְצָאתֶ֔ם וְנָתַתִּ֤י לָכֶם֙ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים סְדִינִ֔ים וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים חֲלִפֹ֥ת בְּגָדִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 14:12 Simson aber sprach zu ihnen: Ich will euch ein Rätsel aufgeben. Wenn ihr mir das erratet und trefft diese sieben Tage der Hochzeit, so will ich euch dreißig Hemden geben und dreißig Feierkleider.(dhs) Jdg 14:12 Then Samson said to them, "Let me pose a riddle to you. If you can correctly solve and explain it to me within the seven days of the feast, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothing.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:13 ============ Jdg 14:13 But if you are unable to tell me, then you shall give me thirty linen wraps and thirty changes of clothes." And they said to him, "Propound your riddle, that we may hear it."(nas) Jdg 14:13 καὶ ἐὰν μὴ δύνησθε ἀπαγγεῖλαί μοι δώσετε ὑμεῖς ἐμοὶ τριάκοντα ὀθόνια καὶ τριάκοντα ἀλλασσομένας στολὰς ἱματίων καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ προβαλοῦ τὸ πρόβλημα καὶ ἀκουσόμεθα αὐτό (lxx) Jdg 14:13 sin autem non potueritis solvere, vos dabitis mihi triginta sindones, et ejusdem numeri tunicas. Qui responderunt ei: Propone problema, ut audiamus.(vulgate) 13 ׃14 וְאִם־לֹ֣א תוּכְלוּ֮ לְהַגִּ֣יד לִי֒ וּנְתַתֶּ֨ם אַתֶּ֥ם לִי֙ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים סְדִינִ֔ים וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים חֲלִיפ֣וֹת בְּגָדִ֑ים וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ ל֔וֹ ח֥וּדָה חִידָתְךָ֖ וְנִשְׁמָעֶֽנָּה׃ Judges Jdg 14:13 Könnt ihrs aber nicht erraten, so sollt ihr mir dreißig Hemden und dreißig Feierkleider geben. Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Gib dein Rätsel auf; laß uns hören!(dhs) Jdg 14:13 But if you cannot explain it to me, then you shall give me thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothing." And they said to him, "Pose your riddle, that we may hear it."(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:14 ============ Jdg 14:14 So he said to them, "Out of the eater came something to eat, And out of the strong came something sweet." But they could not tell the riddle in three days.(nas) Jdg 14:14 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς τί βρωτὸν ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ βιβρώσκοντος καὶ ἀπὸ ἰσχυροῦ γλυκύ καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο ἀπαγγεῖλαι τὸ πρόβλημα ἐπὶ τρεῖς ἡμέρας (lxx) Jdg 14:14 Dixitque eis: [De comedente exivit cibus, et de forti egressa est dulcedo.] Nec potuerunt per tres dies propositionem solvere.(vulgate) 14 ׃14 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֗ם מֵהָֽאֹכֵל֙ יָצָ֣א מַאֲכָ֔ל וּמֵעַ֖ז יָצָ֣א מָת֑וֹק וְלֹ֥א יָכְל֛וּ לְהַגִּ֥יד הַחִידָ֖ה שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים׃ Judges Jdg 14:14 Er sprach zu ihnen: Speise ging von dem Fresser und Süßigkeit von dem Starken. Und sie konnten in drei Tagen das Rätsel nicht erraten.(dhs) Jdg 14:14 So he said to them: "Out of the eater came something to eat, And out of the strong came something sweet." Now for three days they could not explain the riddle.(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:15 ============ Jdg 14:15 Then it came about on the fourth day that they said to Samson's wife, "Entice your husband, so that he will tell us the riddle, or we will burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us to impoverish us? Habt ihr uns hierher geladen, daß ihr uns arm macht? Oder nicht?(dhs) Jdg 14:15 But it came to pass on the seventh day that they said to Samson's wife, "Entice your husband, that he may explain the riddle to us, or else we will burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us in order to take what is ours? Is that not so?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:16 ============ Jdg 14:16 Samson's wife wept before him and said, "You only hate me, and you do not love me; you have propounded a riddle to the sons of my people, and have not told it to me." Du hast den Kindern meines Volkes ein Rätsel aufgegeben und hast mir's nicht gesagt. Er aber sprach zu ihr: Siehe, ich habe es meinem Vater und meiner Mutter nicht gesagt und sollte dir's sagen?(dhs) Jdg 14:16 Then Samson's wife wept on him, and said, "You only hate me! You do not love me! You have posed a riddle to the sons of my people, but you have not explained it to me." And he said to her, "Look, I have not explained it to my father or my mother; so should I explain it to you?"(nkjv) ======= Judges 14:17 ============ Jdg 14:17 However she wept before him seven days while their feast lasted. And on the seventh day he told her because she pressed him so hard. Quæ statim indicavit civibus suis.(vulgate) 17 ׃14 וַתֵּ֤בְךְּ עָלָיו֙ שִׁבְעַ֣ת הַיָּמִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה לָהֶ֖ם הַמִּשְׁתֶּ֑ה וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י וַיַּגֶּד־לָהּ֙ כִּ֣י הֱצִיקַ֔תְהוּ וַתַּגֵּ֥ד הַחִידָ֖ה לִבְנֵ֥י עַמָּֽהּ׃ Judges Jdg 14:17 Und sie weinte die sieben Tage vor ihm, da sie Hochzeit hatten; aber am siebenten Tage sagte er's ihr, denn sie drängte ihn. Was ist stärker denn der Löwe? And his anger burned, and he went up to his father's house.(nas) Jdg 14:19 καὶ ἥλατο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ κατέβη εἰς Ἀσκαλῶνα καὶ ἐπάταξεν ἐξ αὐτῶν τριάκοντα ἄνδρας καὶ ἔλαβεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν καὶ ἔδωκεν τὰς στολὰς τοῖς ἀπαγγείλασιν τὸ πρόβλημα καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ Σαμψων καὶ ἀνέβη εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 14:19 Irruit itaque in eum spiritus Domini, descenditque Ascalonem, et percussit ibi triginta viros: quorum ablatas vestes dedit iis qui problema solverant. Iratusque nimis ascendit in domum patris sui:(vulgate) 19 ׃14 וַתִּצְלַ֨ח עָלָ֜יו ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֗ה וַיֵּ֨רֶד אַשְׁקְל֜וֹן וַיַּ֥ךְ מֵהֶ֣ם ׀ שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים אִ֗ישׁ וַיִּקַּח֙ אֶת־חֲלִ֣יצוֹתָ֔ם וַיִּתֵּן֙ הַחֲלִיפ֔וֹת לְמַגִּידֵ֖י הַחִידָ֑ה וַיִּ֣חַר אַפּ֔וֹ וַיַּ֖עַל בֵּ֥ית אָבִֽיהוּ׃ פ Judges Jdg 14:19 Und der Geist des HERRN geriet über ihn, und er ging hinab gen Askalon und schlug dreißig Mann unter ihnen und nahm ihr Gewand und gab Feierkleider denen, die das Rätsel erraten hatten.
