Today's Date: ======= Judges 17:1 ============ Jdg 17:1 Now there was a man of the hill country of Ephraim whose name was Micah.(nas) Jdg 17:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ ὄνομα αὐτῷ Μιχαιας (lxx) Jdg 17:1 Fuit eo tempore vir quidam de monte Ephraim nomine Michas,(vulgate) 1 ׃17 וַֽיְהִי־אִ֥ישׁ מֵֽהַר־אֶפְרָ֖יִם וּשְׁמ֥וֹ מִיכָֽיְהוּ׃ Judges Jdg 17:1 Es war ein Mann auf dem Gebirge Ephraim, mit Namen Micha.(dhs) Jdg 17:1 Now there was a man from the mountains of Ephraim, whose name was Micah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:2 ============ Jdg 17:2 He said to his mother, "The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse in my hearing, behold, the silver is with me; I took it." And his mother said, "Blessed be my son by the Lord."(nas) Jdg 17:2 καὶ εἶπεν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ οἱ χίλιοι καὶ ἑκατόν οὓς ἔλαβες ἀργυρίου σεαυτῇ καί με ἠράσω καὶ προσεῖπας ἐν ὠσί μου ἰδοὺ τὸ ἀργύριον παρ᾽ ἐμοί ἐγὼ ἔλαβον αὐτό καὶ εἶπεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ εὐλογητὸς ὁ υἱός μου τῷ κυρίῳ (lxx) Jdg 17:2 qui dixit matri suæ: Mille et centum argenteos, quos separaveras tibi, et super quibus me audiente juraveras, ecce ego habeo, et apud me sunt. Cui illa respondit: Benedictus filius meus Domino.(vulgate) 2 ׃17 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְאִמּ֡וֹ אֶלֶף֩ וּמֵאָ֨ה הַכֶּ֜סֶף אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֻֽקַּֽח־לָ֗ךְ *ואתי **וְאַ֤תְּ אָלִית֙ וְגַם֙ אָמַ֣רְתְּ בְּאָזְנַ֔י הִנֵּֽה־הַכֶּ֥סֶף אִתִּ֖י אֲנִ֣י לְקַחְתִּ֑יו וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אִמּ֔וֹ בָּר֥וּךְ בְּנִ֖י לַיהוָֽה׃ Judges Jdg 17:2 Der sprach zu seiner Mutter: Die tausendundhundert Silberlinge, die dir genommen worden sind und derenthalben du den Fluch gesprochen und auch vor meinen Ohren gesagt hast, sieh, das Geld ist bei mir; ich habe es genommen. Da sprach sein Mutter: Gesegnet sei mein Sohn dem HERRN!(dhs) Jdg 17:2 And he said to his mother, "The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you, and on which you put a curse, even saying it in my ears--here is the silver with me; I took it." And his mother said, "May you be blessed by the Lord, my son!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:3 ============ Jdg 17:3 He then returned the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said, "I wholly dedicate the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son to make a graven image and a molten image; now therefore, I will return them to you."(nas) Jdg 17:3 καὶ ἀπέδωκεν τοὺς χιλίους καὶ ἑκατὸν τοῦ ἀργυρίου τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ ἁγιάζουσα ἡγίακα τὸ ἀργύριον τῷ κυρίῳ ἐκ χειρός μου τῷ υἱῷ μου τοῦ ποιῆσαι γλυπτὸν καὶ χωνευτόν καὶ νῦν ἀποδώσω σοι αὐτό (lxx) Jdg 17:3 Reddidit ergo eos matri suæ, quæ dixerat ei: Consecravi et vovi hoc argentum Domino, ut de manu mea suscipiat filius meus, et faciat sculptile atque conflatile: et nunc trado illud tibi.(vulgate) 3 ׃17 וַיָּ֛שֶׁב אֶת־אֶֽלֶף־וּמֵאָ֥ה הַכֶּ֖סֶף לְאִמּ֑וֹ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אִמּ֡וֹ הַקְדֵּ֣שׁ הִקְדַּ֣שְׁתִּי אֶת־הַכֶּסֶף֩ לַיהוָ֨ה מִיָּדִ֜י לִבְנִ֗י לַֽעֲשׂוֹת֙ פֶּ֣סֶל וּמַסֵּכָ֔ה וְעַתָּ֖ה אֲשִׁיבֶ֥נּוּ לָֽךְ׃ Judges Jdg 17:3 Also gab er seiner Mutter die tausendundhundert Silberlinge wieder. Und seine Mutter sprach: Ich habe das Geld dem HERRN geheiligt von meiner Hand für meinen Sohn, daß man ein Bildnis und einen Abgott machen soll; darum so gebe ich's dir nun wieder.(dhs) Jdg 17:3 So when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, "I had wholly dedicated the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son, to make a carved image and a molded image; now therefore, I will return it to you."(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:4 ============ Jdg 17:4 So when he returned the silver to his mother, his mother took two hundred pieces of silver and gave them to the silversmith who made them into a graven image and a molten image, and they were in the house of Micah.(nas) Jdg 17:4 καὶ ἀπέδωκεν τὸ ἀργύριον τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ διακοσίους ἀργυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸ ἀργυροκόπῳ καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτὸ γλυπτὸν καὶ χωνευτόν καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν οἴκῳ Μιχαια (lxx) Jdg 17:4 Reddidit igitur eos matri suæ: quæ tulit ducentos argenteos, et dedit eos argentario, ut faceret ex eis sculptile atque conflatile, quod fuit in domo Michæ.(vulgate) 4 ׃17 וַיָּ֥שֶׁב אֶת־הַכֶּ֖סֶף לְאִמּ֑וֹ וַתִּקַּ֣ח אִמּוֹ֩ מָאתַ֨יִם כֶּ֜סֶף וַתִּתְּנֵ֣הוּ לַצּוֹרֵ֗ף וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ פֶּ֣סֶל וּמַסֵּכָ֔ה וַיְהִ֖י בְּבֵ֥ית מִיכָֽיְהוּ׃ Judges Jdg 17:4 Aber er gab seiner Mutter das Geld wieder. Da nahm seine Mutter zweihundert Silberlinge und tat sie zu dem Goldschmied; der machte ihr ein Bild und einen Abgott, das war darnach im Hause Michas.(dhs) Jdg 17:4 Thus he returned the silver to his mother. Then his mother took two hundred shekels of silver and gave them to the silversmith, and he made it into a carved image and a molded image; and they were in the house of Micah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:5 ============ Jdg 17:5 And the man Micah had a shrine and he made an ephod and household idols and consecrated one of his sons, that he might become his priest.(nas) Jdg 17:5 καὶ ὁ οἶκος Μιχαια αὐτῷ οἶκος θεοῦ καὶ ἐποίησεν εφωδ καὶ θαραφιν καὶ ἐπλήρωσεν τὴν χεῖρα ἀπὸ ἑνὸς υἱῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῷ εἰς ἱερέα (lxx) Jdg 17:5 Qui ædiculam quoque in ea deo separavit, et fecit ephod, et theraphim, id est, vestem sacerdotalem, et idola: implevitque unius filiorum suorum manum, et factus est ei sacerdos.(vulgate) 5 ׃17 וְהָאִ֣ישׁ מִיכָ֔ה ל֖וֹ בֵּ֣ית אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיַּ֤עַשׂ אֵפוֹד֙ וּתְרָפִ֔ים וַיְמַלֵּ֗א אֶת־יַ֤ד אַחַד֙ מִבָּנָ֔יו וַיְהִי־ל֖וֹ לְכֹהֵֽן׃ Judges Jdg 17:5 Und der Mann Micha hatte also ein Gotteshaus; und machte einen Leibrock und Hausgötzen und füllte seiner Söhne einem die Hand, daß er sein Priester ward.(dhs) Jdg 17:5 The man Micah had a shrine, and made an ephod and household idols; and he consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:6 ============ Jdg 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.(nas) Jdg 17:6 ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις οὐκ ἦν βασιλεὺς ἐν Ισραηλ ἀνὴρ τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ ἐποίει (lxx) Jdg 17:6 In diebus illis non erat rex in Israël, sed unusquisque quod sibi rectum videbatur, hoc faciebat.~(vulgate) 6 ׃17 בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם אֵ֥ין מֶ֖לֶךְ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִ֛ישׁ הַיָּשָׁ֥ר בְּעֵינָ֖יו יַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ פ Judges Jdg 17:6 Zu der Zeit war kein König in Israel, und ein jeglicher tat, was ihn recht deuchte.(dhs) Jdg 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:7 ============ Jdg 17:7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he was staying there.(nas) Jdg 17:7 καὶ ἐγενήθη νεανίας ἐκ Βηθλεεμ δήμου Ιουδα καὶ αὐτὸς Λευίτης καὶ οὗτος παρῴκει ἐκεῖ (lxx) Jdg 17:7 Fuit quoque alter adolescens de Bethlehem Juda, ex cognatione ejus: eratque ipse Levites, et habitabat ibi.(vulgate) 7 ׃17 וַיְהִי־נַ֗עַר מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה מִמִּשְׁפַּ֖חַת יְהוּדָ֑ה וְה֥וּא לֵוִ֖י וְה֥וּא גָֽר־שָֽׁם׃ Judges Jdg 17:7 Es war aber ein Jüngling von Bethlehem-Juda unter dem Geschlecht Juda's, und er war ein Levit und war fremd daselbst.(dhs) Jdg 17:7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah; he was a Levite, and was staying there.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:8 ============ Jdg 17:8 Then the man departed from the city, from Bethlehem in Judah, to stay wherever he might find a place; and as he made his journey, he came to the hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah.(nas) Jdg 17:8 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ Βηθλεεμ τῆς πόλεως Ιουδα παροικῆσαι ἐν ᾧ ἐὰν εὕρῃ τόπῳ καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως ὄρους Εφραιμ καὶ ἕως οἴκου Μιχαια τοῦ ποιῆσαι ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 17:8 Egressusque de civitate Bethlehem, peregrinari voluit ubicumque sibi commodum reperisset. Cumque venisset in montem Ephraim, iter faciens, et declinasset parumper in domum Michæ,(vulgate) 8 ׃17 וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ הָאִ֜ישׁ מֵהָעִ֗יר מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה לָג֖וּר בַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יִמְצָ֑א וַיָּבֹ֧א הַר־אֶפְרַ֛יִם עַד־בֵּ֥ית מִיכָ֖ה לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ Judges Jdg 17:8 Er zog aus der Stadt Bethlehem-Juda, zu wandern, wo er hin konnte. Und da er aufs Gebirge Ephraim kam zum Hause Michas, daß er seinen Weg ginge,(dhs) Jdg 17:8 The man departed from the city of Bethlehem in Judah to stay wherever he could find a place. Then he came to the mountains of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:9 ============ Jdg 17:9 Micah said to him, "Where do you come from?" And he said to him, "I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, and I am going to stay wherever I may find a place."(nas) Jdg 17:9 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Μιχαιας πόθεν ἔρχῃ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν Λευίτης εἰμὶ ἀπὸ Βαιθλεεμ Ιουδα καὶ ἐγὼ πορεύομαι παροικῆσαι ἐν ᾧ ἐὰν εὕρω τόπῳ (lxx) Jdg 17:9 interrogatus est ab eo unde venisset. Qui respondit: Levita sum de Bethlehem Juda, et vado ut habitem ubi potuero, et utile mihi esse perspexero.(vulgate) 9 ׃17 וַיֹּאמֶר־ל֥וֹ מִיכָ֖ה מֵאַ֣יִן תָּב֑וֹא וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו לֵוִ֣י אָנֹ֗כִי מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֙חֶם֙ יְהוּדָ֔ה וְאָנֹכִ֣י הֹלֵ֔ךְ לָג֖וּר בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶמְצָֽא׃ Judges Jdg 17:9 fragte ihn Micha: Wo kommst du her? Er antwortete ihm: Ich bin ein Levit von Bethlehem-Juda und wandere, wo ich hin kann.(dhs) Jdg 17:9 And Micah said to him, "Where do you come from?" So he said to him, "I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, and I am on my way to find a place to stay."(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:10 ============ Jdg 17:10 Micah then said to him, "Dwell with me and be a father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year, a suit of clothes, and your maintenance." So the Levite went in.(nas) Jdg 17:10 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Μιχαιας κάθου μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ γίνου μοι εἰς πατέρα καὶ εἰς ἱερέα καὶ ἐγὼ δώσω σοι δέκα ἀργυρίου εἰς ἡμέραν καὶ στολὴν ἱματίων καὶ τὰ πρὸς ζωήν σου καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ Λευίτης (lxx) Jdg 17:10 Dixitque Michas: Mane apud me, et esto mihi parens ac sacerdos: daboque tibi per annos singulos decem argenteos, ac vestem duplicem, et quæ ad victum sunt necessaria.(vulgate) 10 ׃17 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ ל֨וֹ מִיכָ֜ה שְׁבָ֣ה עִמָּדִ֗י וֶֽהְיֵה־לִי֮ לְאָ֣ב וּלְכֹהֵן֒ וְאָנֹכִ֨י אֶֽתֶּן־לְךָ֜ עֲשֶׂ֤רֶת כֶּ֙סֶף֙ לַיָּמִ֔ים וְעֵ֥רֶךְ בְּגָדִ֖ים וּמִחְיָתֶ֑ךָ וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ הַלֵּוִֽי׃ Judges Jdg 17:10 Micha aber sprach zu ihm: Bleibe bei mir, du sollst mein Vater und mein Priester sein; ich will dir jährlich zehn Silberlinge und deine Kleidung und Nahrung geben. Und der Levit ging hin.(dhs) Jdg 17:10 Micah said to him, "Dwell with me, and be a father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten shekels of silver per year, a suit of clothes, and your sustenance." So the Levite went in.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:11 ============ Jdg 17:11 The Levite agreed to live with the man, and the young man became to him like one of his sons.(nas) Jdg 17:11 καὶ ἤρξατο παροικεῖν παρὰ τῷ ἀνδρί καὶ ἐγενήθη ὁ νεανίας παρ᾽ αὐτῷ ὡς εἷς ἀπὸ υἱῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 17:11 Acquievit, et mansit apud hominem, fuitque illi quasi unus de filiis.(vulgate) 11 ׃17 וַיּ֥וֹאֶל הַלֵּוִ֖י לָשֶׁ֣בֶת אֶת־הָאִ֑ישׁ וַיְהִ֤י הַנַּ֙עַר֙ ל֔וֹ כְּאַחַ֖ד מִבָּנָֽיו׃ Judges Jdg 17:11 Der Levit trat an, zu bleiben bei dem Mann; und er hielt den Jüngling gleich wie einen Sohn.(dhs) Jdg 17:11 Then the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man became like one of his sons to him.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:12 ============ Jdg 17:12 So Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest and lived in the house of Micah.(nas) Jdg 17:12 καὶ ἐπλήρωσεν Μιχαιας τὴν χεῖρα τοῦ Λευίτου καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτῷ εἰς ἱερέα καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν οἴκῳ Μιχαια (lxx) Jdg 17:12 Implevitque Michas manum ejus, et habuit puerum sacerdotem apud se:(vulgate) 12 ׃17 וַיְמַלֵּ֤א מִיכָה֙ אֶת־יַ֣ד הַלֵּוִ֔י וַיְהִי־ל֥וֹ הַנַּ֖עַר לְכֹהֵ֑ן וַיְהִ֖י בְּבֵ֥ית מִיכָֽה׃ Judges Jdg 17:12 Und Micha füllte dem Leviten die Hand, daß er sein Priester ward, und war also im Haus Michas.(dhs) Jdg 17:12 So Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and lived in the house of Micah.(nkjv) ======= Judges 17:13 ============ Jdg 17:13 Then Micah said, "Now I know that the Lord will prosper me, seeing I have a Levite as priest."(nas) Jdg 17:13 καὶ εἶπεν Μιχαιας νῦν ἔγνων ὅτι ἀγαθυνεῖ κύριος ἐμοί ὅτι ἐγένετό μοι ὁ Λευίτης εἰς ἱερέα (lxx) Jdg 17:13 Nunc scio, dicens, quod benefaciet mihi Deus habenti Levitici generis sacerdotem.(vulgate) 13 ׃17 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מִיכָ֔ה עַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּֽי־יֵיטִ֥יב יְהוָ֖ה לִ֑י כִּ֧י הָיָה־לִ֛י הַלֵּוִ֖י לְכֹהֵֽן׃ Judges Jdg 17:13 Und Micha sprach: Nun weiß ich, daß mir der HERR wird wohltun, weil ich einen Leviten zum Priester habe.(dhs) Jdg 17:13 Then Micah said, "Now I know that the Lord will be good to me, since I have a Levite as priest!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 18:1 ============ top of the page
