Today's Date: ======= Judges 15:1 ============ Jdg 15:1 But after a while, in the time of wheat harvest, Samson visited his wife with a young goat, and said, "I will go in to my wife in her room." But her father did not let him enter.(nas) Jdg 15:1 καὶ ἐγένετο μεθ᾽ ἡμέρας ἐν ἡμέραις θερισμοῦ πυρῶν καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο Σαμψων τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐρίφῳ αἰγῶν καὶ εἶπεν εἰσελεύσομαι πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκά μου εἰς τὸ ταμιεῖον καὶ οὐκ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτῆς εἰσελθεῖν (lxx) Jdg 15:1 Post aliquantulum autem temporis, cum dies triticeæ messis instarent, venit Samson, invisere volens uxorem suam, et attulit ei hædum de capris. Cumque cubiculum ejus solito vellet intrare, prohibuit eum pater illius, dicens:(vulgate) 1 ׃15 וַיְהִ֨י מִיָּמִ֜ים בִּימֵ֣י קְצִיר־חִטִּ֗ים וַיִּפְקֹ֨ד שִׁמְשׁ֤וֹן אֶת־אִשְׁתּוֹ֙ בִּגְדִ֣י עִזִּ֔ים וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אָבֹ֥אָה אֶל־אִשְׁתִּ֖י הֶחָ֑דְרָה וְלֹֽא־נְתָנ֥וֹ אָבִ֖יהָ לָבֽוֹא׃ Judges Jdg 15:1 Es begab sich aber nach etlichen Tagen, um die Weizenernte, daß Simson sein Weib besuchte mit einem Ziegenböcklein. Und als er gedachte: Ich will zu meinem Weibe gehen in die Kammer, wollte ihn der Vater nicht hinein lassen(dhs) Jdg 15:1 After a while, in the time of wheat harvest, it happened that Samson visited his wife with a young goat. But her father would not permit him to go in.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:2 ============ Jdg 15:2 Her father said, "I really thought that you hated her intensely; so I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister more beautiful than she? Please let her be yours instead."(nas) Jdg 15:2 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτῆς λέγων εἶπα ὅτι μισῶν ἐμίσησας αὐτήν καὶ ἔδωκα αὐτὴν ἑνὶ τῶν ἐκ τῶν φίλων σου μὴ οὐχὶ ἡ ἀδελφὴ αὐτῆς ἡ νεωτέρα αὐτῆς ἀγαθωτέρα ὑπὲρ αὐτήν ἔστω δή σοι ἀντὶ αὐτῆς (lxx) Jdg 15:2 Putavi quod odisses eam, et ideo tradidi illam amico tuo: sed habet sororem, quæ junior et pulchrior illa est: sit tibi pro ea uxor.(vulgate) 2 ׃15 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אָבִ֗יהָ אָמֹ֤ר אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ כִּי־שָׂנֹ֣א שְׂנֵאתָ֔הּ וָאֶתְּנֶ֖נָּה לְמֵרֵעֶ֑ךָ הֲלֹ֨א אֲחֹתָ֤הּ הַקְּטַנָּה֙ טוֹבָ֣ה מִמֶּ֔נָּה תְּהִי־נָ֥א לְךָ֖ תַּחְתֶּֽיהָ׃ Judges Jdg 15:2 und sprach: Ich meinte, du wärest ihr gram geworden, und habe sie deinem Freunde gegeben. Sie hat aber eine jüngere Schwester, die ist schöner denn sie; die laß dein sein für diese.(dhs) Jdg 15:2 Her father said, "I really thought that you thoroughly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister better than she? Please, take her instead."(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:3 ============ Jdg 15:3 Samson then said to them, "This time I shall be blameless in regard to the Philistines when I do them harm."(nas) Jdg 15:3 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Σαμψων ἠθῴωμαι καὶ τὸ ἅπαξ ἀπὸ ἀλλοφύλων ὅτι ποιῶ ἐγὼ μετ᾽ αὐτῶν πονηρίαν (lxx) Jdg 15:3 Cui Samson respondit: Ab hac die non erit culpa in me contra Philisthæos: faciam enim vobis mala.(vulgate) 3 ׃15 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן נִקֵּ֥יתִי הַפַּ֖עַם מִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים כִּֽי־עֹשֶׂ֥ה אֲנִ֛י עִמָּ֖ם רָעָֽה׃ Judges Jdg 15:3 Da sprach Simson zu ihnen: Ich habe einmal eine gerechte Sache wider die Philister; ich will euch Schaden tun.(dhs) Jdg 15:3 And Samson said to them, "This time I shall be blameless regarding the Philistines if I harm them!"(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:4 ============ Jdg 15:4 Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches, and turned the foxes tail to tail and put one torch in the middle between two tails.(nas) Jdg 15:4 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Σαμψων καὶ συνέλαβεν τριακοσίας ἀλώπεκας καὶ ἔλαβεν λαμπάδας καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν κέρκον πρὸς κέρκον καὶ ἔθηκεν λαμπάδα μίαν ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν δύο κέρκων καὶ ἔδησεν (lxx) Jdg 15:4 Perrexitque et cepit trecentas vulpes, caudasque earum junxit ad caudas, et faces ligavit in medio:(vulgate) 4 ׃15 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן וַיִּלְכֹּ֖ד שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֣וֹת שׁוּעָלִ֑ים וַיִּקַּ֣ח לַפִּדִ֗ים וַיֶּ֤פֶן זָנָב֙ אֶל־זָנָ֔ב וַיָּ֨שֶׂם לַפִּ֥יד אֶחָ֛ד בֵּין־שְׁנֵ֥י הַזְּנָב֖וֹת בַּתָּֽוֶךְ׃ Judges Jdg 15:4 Und Simson ging hin und fing dreihundert Füchse und nahm Brände und kehrte je einen Schwanz zum andern und tat einen Brand je zwischen zwei Schwänze(dhs) Jdg 15:4 Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:5 ============ Jdg 15:5 When he had set fire to the torches, he released the foxes into the standing grain of the Philistines, thus burning up both the shocks and the standing grain, along with the vineyards and groves.(nas) Jdg 15:5 καὶ ἐξέκαυσεν πῦρ ἐν ταῖς λαμπάσιν καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν ἐν τοῖς στάχυσιν τῶν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐκάησαν ἀπὸ ἅλωνος καὶ ἕως σταχύων ὀρθῶν καὶ ἕως ἀμπελῶνος καὶ ἐλαίας (lxx) Jdg 15:5 quas igne succendens, dimisit ut huc illucque discurrerent. Quæ statim perrexerunt in segetes Philisthinorum. Quibus succensis, et comportatæ jam fruges, et adhuc stantes in stipula, concrematæ sunt, in tantum ut vineas quoque et oliveta flamma consumeret.(vulgate) 5 ׃15 וַיַּבְעֶר־אֵשׁ֙ בַּלַּפִּידִ֔ים וַיְשַׁלַּ֖ח בְּקָמ֣וֹת פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וַיַּבְעֵ֛ר מִגָּדִ֥ישׁ וְעַד־קָמָ֖ה וְעַד־כֶּ֥רֶם זָֽיִת׃ Judges Jdg 15:5 und zündete die Brände an mit Feuer und ließ sie unter das Korn der Philister und zündete also an die Garben samt dem stehenden Korn und Weinberge und Ölbäume.(dhs) Jdg 15:5 When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:6 ============ Jdg 15:6 Then the Philistines said, "Who did this?" And they said, "Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he took his wife and gave her to his companion." So the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.(nas) Jdg 15:6 καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι τίς ἐποίησεν ταῦτα καὶ εἶπαν Σαμψων ὁ νυμφίος τοῦ Θαμνι ὅτι ἔλαβεν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν τῷ ἐκ τῶν φίλων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ ἐνέπρησαν αὐτὴν καὶ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῆς ἐν πυρί (lxx) Jdg 15:6 Dixeruntque Philisthiim: Quis fecit hanc rem? Quibus dictum est: Samson gener Thamnathæi: quia tulit uxorem ejus, et alteri tradidit, hæc operatus est. Ascenderuntque Philisthiim, et combusserunt tam mulierem quam patrem ejus.(vulgate) 6 ׃15 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּים֮ מִ֣י עָ֣שָׂה זֹאת֒ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ חֲתַ֣ן הַתִּמְנִ֔י כִּ֚י לָקַ֣ח אֶת־אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ וַֽיִּתְּנָ֖הּ לְמֵרֵעֵ֑הוּ וַיַּעֲל֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיִּשְׂרְפ֥וּ אוֹתָ֛הּ וְאֶת־אָבִ֖יהָ בָּאֵֽשׁ׃ Judges Jdg 15:6 Da sprachen die Philister: Wer hat das getan? Da sagte man: Simson, der Eidam des Thimniters; darum daß er ihm sein Weib genommen und seinem Freunde gegeben hat. Da zogen die Philister hinauf und verbrannten sie samt ihrem Vater mit Feuer.(dhs) Jdg 15:6 Then the Philistines said, "Who has done this?" And they answered, "Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion." So the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:7 ============ Jdg 15:7 Samson said to them, "Since you act like this, I will surely take revenge on you, but after that I will quit."(nas) Jdg 15:7 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Σαμψων ἐὰν ποιήσητε οὕτως ταύτην ὅτι εἰ μὴν ἐκδικήσω ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ ἔσχατον κοπάσω (lxx) Jdg 15:7 Quibus ait Samson: Licet hæc feceritis, tamen adhuc ex vobis expetam ultionem, et tunc quiescam.(vulgate) 7 ׃15 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן אִֽם־תַּעֲשׂ֖וּן כָּזֹ֑את כִּ֛י אִם־נִקַּ֥מְתִּי בָכֶ֖ם וְאַחַ֥ר אֶחְדָּֽל׃ Judges Jdg 15:7 Simson aber sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ihr solches tut, so will ich mich an euch rächen und darnach aufhören,(dhs) Jdg 15:7 Samson said to them, "Since you would do a thing like this, I will surely take revenge on you, and after that I will cease."(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:8 ============ Jdg 15:8 He struck them ruthlessly with a great slaughter; and he went down and lived in the cleft of the rock of Etam.(nas) Jdg 15:8 καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς κνήμην ἐπὶ μηρὸν πληγὴν μεγάλην καὶ κατέβη καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐν τρυμαλιᾷ τῆς πέτρας Ηταμ (lxx) Jdg 15:8 Percussitque eos ingenti plaga, ita ut stupentes suram femori imponerent. Et descendens habitavit in spelunca petræ Etam.(vulgate) 8 ׃15 וַיַּ֨ךְ אוֹתָ֥ם שׁ֛וֹק עַל־יָרֵ֖ךְ מַכָּ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֑ה וַיֵּ֣רֶד וַיֵּ֔שֶׁב בִּסְעִ֖יף סֶ֥לַע עֵיטָֽם׃ ס Judges Jdg 15:8 und schlug sie hart, an Schultern und an Lenden. Und zog hinab und wohnte in der Steinkluft zu Etam.(dhs) Jdg 15:8 So he attacked them hip and thigh with a great slaughter; then he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock of Etam.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:9 ============ Jdg 15:9 Then the Philistines went up and camped in Judah, and spread out in Lehi.(nas) Jdg 15:9 καὶ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Ιουδα καὶ ἐξερρίφησαν ἐν Λευι (lxx) Jdg 15:9 Igitur ascendentes Philisthiim in terram Juda, castrametati sunt in loco, qui postea vocatus est Lechi, id est, Maxilla, ubi eorum effusus est exercitus.(vulgate) 9 ׃15 וַיַּעֲל֣וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בִּיהוּדָ֑ה וַיִּנָּטְשׁ֖וּ בַּלֶּֽחִי׃ Judges Jdg 15:9 Da zogen die Philister hinauf und lagerten sich in Juda und ließen sich nieder zu Lehi.(dhs) Jdg 15:9 Now the Philistines went up, encamped in Judah, and deployed themselves against Lehi.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:10 ============ Jdg 15:10 The men of Judah said, "Why have you come up against us?" And they said, "We have come up to bind Samson in order to do to him as he did to us."(nas) Jdg 15:10 καὶ εἶπαν ἀνὴρ Ιουδα εἰς τί ἀνέβητε ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς καὶ εἶπον οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι δῆσαι τὸν Σαμψων ἀνέβημεν καὶ ποιῆσαι αὐτῷ ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησεν ἡμῖν (lxx) Jdg 15:10 Dixeruntque ad eos de tribu Juda: Cur ascendistis adversum nos? Qui responderunt: Ut ligemus Samson venimus, et reddamus ei quæ in nos operatus est.~(vulgate) 10 ׃15 וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה לָמָ֖ה עֲלִיתֶ֣ם עָלֵ֑ינוּ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ לֶאֱס֤וֹר אֶת־שִׁמְשׁוֹן֙ עָלִ֔ינוּ לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת ל֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר עָ֥שָׂה לָֽנוּ׃ Judges Jdg 15:10 Aber die von Juda sprachen: Warum seid ihr wider uns heraufgezogen? Sie antworteten: Wir sind heraufgekommen, Simson zu binden, daß wir mit ihm tun, wie er uns getan hat.(dhs) Jdg 15:10 And the men of Judah said, "Why have you come up against us?" So they answered, "We have come up to arrest Samson, to do to him as he has done to us."(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:11 ============ Jdg 15:11 Then 3,000 men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam and said to Samson, "Do you not know that the Philistines are rulers over us? What then is this that you have done to us?" And he said to them, "As they did to me, so I have done to them."(nas) Jdg 15:11 καὶ κατέβησαν τρισχίλιοι ἄνδρες ἀπὸ Ιουδα εἰς τρυμαλιὰν πέτρας Ηταμ καὶ εἶπαν τῷ Σαμψων οὐκ οἶδας ὅτι κυριεύουσιν οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἡμῶν καὶ τί τοῦτο ἐποίησας ἡμῖν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Σαμψων ὃν τρόπον ἐποίησάν μοι οὕτως ἐποίησα αὐτοῖς (lxx) Jdg 15:11 Descenderunt ergo tria millia virorum de Juda ad specum silicis Etam, dixeruntque ad Samson: Nescis quod Philisthiim imperent nobis? quare hoc facere voluisti? Quibus ille ait: Sicut fecerunt mihi, sic feci eis.(vulgate) 11 ׃15 וַיֵּרְד֡וּ שְׁלֹשֶׁת֩ אֲלָפִ֨ים אִ֜ישׁ מִֽיהוּדָ֗ה אֶל־סְעִיף֮ סֶ֣לַע עֵיטָם֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לְשִׁמְשׁ֗וֹן הֲלֹ֤א יָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ כִּֽי־מֹשְׁלִ֥ים בָּ֙נוּ֙ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וּמַה־זֹּ֖את עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֑נוּ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁר֙ עָ֣שׂוּ לִ֔י כֵּ֖ן עָשִׂ֥יתִי לָהֶֽם׃ Judges Jdg 15:11 Da zogen dreitausend Mann von Juda hinab in die Steinkluft zu Etam und sprachen zu Simson: Weißt du nicht, daß die Philister über uns herrschen? Warum hast du denn das an uns getan? Er sprach zu ihnen: Wie sie mir getan haben, so habe ich ihnen wieder getan.(dhs) Jdg 15:11 Then three thousand men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, "Do you not know that the Philistines rule over us? What is this you have done to us?" And he said to them, "As they did to me, so I have done to them."(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:12 ============ Jdg 15:12 They said to him, "We have come down to bind you so that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines." And Samson said to them, "Swear to me that you will not kill me."(nas) Jdg 15:12 καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ δῆσαί σε κατέβημεν τοῦ δοῦναί σε ἐν χειρὶ ἀλλοφύλων καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Σαμψων ὀμόσατέ μοι μήποτε συναντήσητε ἐν ἐμοὶ ὑμεῖς (lxx) Jdg 15:12 Ligare, inquiunt, te venimus, et tradere in manus Philisthinorum. Quibus Samson: Jurate, ait, et spondete mihi quod non occidatis me.(vulgate) 12 ׃15 וַיֹּ֤אמְרוּ לוֹ֙ לֶאֱסָרְךָ֣ יָרַ֔דְנוּ לְתִתְּךָ֖ בְּיַד־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לָהֶם֙ שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן הִשָּׁבְע֣וּ לִ֔י פֶּֽן־תִּפְגְּע֥וּן בִּ֖י אַתֶּֽם׃ Judges Jdg 15:12 Sie sprachen zu ihm: Wir sind herabgekommen, dich zu binden und in der Philister Hände zu geben. Simson sprach zu ihnen: So schwört mir, daß ihr mir kein Leid tun wollt.(dhs) Jdg 15:12 But they said to him, "We have come down to arrest you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines." Then Samson said to them, "Swear to me that you will not kill me yourselves."(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:13 ============ Jdg 15:13 So they said to him, "No, but we will bind you fast and give you into their hands; yet surely we will not kill you." Then they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.(nas) Jdg 15:13 καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ λέγοντες οὐχί ὅτι ἀλλ᾽ ἢ δεσμῷ δήσομέν σε καὶ παραδώσομέν σε ἐν χειρὶ αὐτῶν καὶ θανάτῳ οὐ θανατώσομέν σε καὶ ἔδησαν αὐτὸν ἐν δυσὶ καλωδίοις καινοῖς καὶ ἀνήνεγκαν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς πέτρας ἐκείνης (lxx) Jdg 15:13 Dixerunt: Non te occidemus, sed vinctum trademus. Ligaveruntque eum duobus novis funibus, et tulerunt eum de petra Etam.(vulgate) 13 ׃15 וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּ ל֣וֹ לֵאמֹ֗ר לֹ֚א כִּֽי־אָסֹ֤ר נֶֽאֱסָרְךָ֙ וּנְתַנּ֣וּךָ בְיָדָ֔ם וְהָמֵ֖ת לֹ֣א נְמִיתֶ֑ךָ וַיַּאַסְרֻ֗הוּ בִּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ עֲבֹתִ֣ים חֲדָשִׁ֔ים וַֽיַּעֲל֖וּהוּ מִן־הַסָּֽלַע׃ Judges Jdg 15:13 Sie antworteten ihm: Wir wollen dir kein Leid tun, sondern wollen dich nur Binden und in ihre Hände geben und wollen dich nicht töten. Und sie banden ihn mit zwei neuen Stricken und führten ihn herauf vom Fels.(dhs) Jdg 15:13 So they spoke to him, saying, "No, but we will tie you securely and deliver you into their hand; but we will surely not kill you." And they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.(nkjv) ======= Judges 15:14 ============ Jdg 15:14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted as they met him. And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily so that the ropes that were on his arms were as flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds dropped from his hands.(nas) Jdg 15:14 καὶ ἦλθον ἕως σιαγόνος καὶ οἱ ἀλλόφυλοι ἠλάλαξαν καὶ ἔδραμον εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἥλατο ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα κυρίου καὶ ἐγενήθη τὰ καλώδια τὰ ἐπὶ βραχίοσιν αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ στιππύον ὃ ἐξεκαύθη ἐν πυρί καὶ ἐτάκησαν δεσμοὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ χειρῶν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Jdg 15:14 Qui cum venisset ad locum Maxillæ, et Philisthiim vociferantes occurrissent ei, irruit spiritus Domini in eum: et sicut solent ad odorem ignis lina consumi, ita vincula, quibus ligatus erat, dissipata sunt et soluta.(vulgate) 14 ׃15 הוּא־בָ֣א עַד־לֶ֔חִי וּפִלְשִׁתִּ֖ים הֵרִ֣יעוּ לִקְרָאת֑וֹ וַתִּצְלַ֨ח עָלָ֜יו ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֗ה וַתִּהְיֶ֨ינָה הָעֲבֹתִ֜ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־זְרוֹעוֹתָ֗יו כַּפִּשְׁתִּים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּעֲר֣וּ בָאֵ֔שׁ וַיִּמַ֥סּוּ אֱסוּרָ֖יו מֵעַ֥ל יָדָֽיו׃ Judges Jdg 15:14 Und da er kam bis gen Lehi, jauchzten die Philister ihm entgegen. Aber der Geist Gottes geriet über ihn, und die Stricke an seinen Armen wurden wie Fäden, die das Feuer versengt hat, daß die Bande an seinen Händen zerschmolzen.(dhs) Jdg 15:14 When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. When he drank, his strength returned and he revived. Therefore he named it En-hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day.(nas) Jdg 15:19 καὶ ἔρρηξεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν λάκκον τὸν ἐν τῇ σιαγόνι καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐξ αὐτοῦ ὕδωρ καὶ ἔπιεν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔζησεν διὰ τοῦτο ἐκλήθη τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς πηγὴ τοῦ ἐπικαλουμένου ἥ ἐστιν ἐν σιαγόνι ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης (lxx) Jdg 15:19 Aperuit itaque Dominus molarem dentem in maxilla asini, et egressæ sunt ex eo aquæ. Quibus haustis, refocillavit spiritum, et vires recepit. Idcirco appellatum est nomen loci illius, Fons invocantis de maxilla, usque in præsentem diem.(vulgate) 19 ׃15 וַיִּבְקַ֨ע אֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶת־הַמַּכְתֵּ֣שׁ אֲשֶׁר־בַּלֶּ֗חִי וַיֵּצְא֨וּ מִמֶּ֤נּוּ מַ֙יִם֙ וַיֵּ֔שְׁתְּ וַתָּ֥שָׁב רוּח֖וֹ וַיֶּ֑חִי עַל־כֵּ֣ן ׀ קָרָ֣א שְׁמָ֗הּ עֵ֤ין הַקּוֹרֵא֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּלֶּ֔חִי עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ Judges Jdg 15:19 Da spaltete Gott die Höhlung in Lehi, das Wasser herausging; und als er trank, kam der Geist wieder, und er ward erquickt.
