Today's Date: ======= 2 Samuel 2:1 ============ 2Sa 2:1 Then it came about afterwards that David inquired of the Lord, saying, "Shall I go up to one of the cities of Judah?" And the Lord said to him, "Go up." So David said, "Where shall I go up?" And He said, "To Hebron."(nas) 2Sa 2:1 καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν Δαυιδ ἐν κυρίῳ λέγων εἰ ἀναβῶ εἰς μίαν τῶν πόλεων Ιουδα καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς αὐτόν ἀνάβηθι καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ ποῦ ἀναβῶ καὶ εἶπεν εἰς Χεβρων (lxx) 2Sa 2:1 Igitur post hæc consuluit David Dominum, dicens: Num ascendam in unam de civitatibus Juda? Et ait Dominus ad eum: Ascende. Dixitque David: Quo ascendam? So they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:4 ============ 2Sa 2:4 Then the men of Judah came and there anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, "It was the men of Jabesh-gilead who buried Saul."(nas) 2Sa 2:4 καὶ ἔρχονται ἄνδρες τῆς Ιουδαίας καὶ χρίουσιν τὸν Δαυιδ ἐκεῖ τοῦ βασιλεύειν ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ιουδα καὶ ἀπήγγειλαν τῷ Δαυιδ λέγοντες ὅτι οἱ ἄνδρες Ιαβις τῆς Γαλααδίτιδος ἔθαψαν τὸν Σαουλ (lxx) 2Sa 2:4 Veneruntque viri Juda, et unxerunt ibi David ut regnaret super domum Juda. Et nuntiatum est David quod viri Jabes Galaad sepelissent Saul.(vulgate) 4 ׃2 וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וַיִּמְשְׁחוּ־שָׁ֧ם אֶת־דָּוִ֛ד לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיַּגִּ֤דוּ לְדָוִד֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אַנְשֵׁי֙ יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר קָבְר֖וּ אֶת־שָׁאֽוּל׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 2:4 Und die Männer Juda's kamen und salbten daselbst David zum König über das Haus Juda. Und da es David ward angesagt, daß die von Jabes in Gilead Saul begraben hatten,(dhs) 2Sa 2:4 Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, "The men of Jabesh Gilead were the ones who buried Saul."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:5 ============ 2Sa 2:5 David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh-gilead, and said to them, "May you be blessed of the Lord because you have shown this kindness to Saul your lord, and have buried him.(nas) 2Sa 2:5 καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ ἀγγέλους πρὸς τοὺς ἡγουμένους Ιαβις τῆς Γαλααδίτιδος καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς εὐλογημένοι ὑμεῖς τῷ κυρίῳ ὅτι πεποιήκατε τὸ ἔλεος τοῦτο ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον ὑμῶν ἐπὶ Σαουλ τὸν χριστὸν κυρίου καὶ ἐθάψατε αὐτὸν καὶ Ιωναθαν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 2:5 Misit ergo David nuntios ad viros Jabes Galaad, dixitque ad eos: Benedicti vos Domino, qui fecistis misericordiam hanc cum domino vestro Saul, et sepelistis eum.(vulgate) 5 ׃2 וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח דָּוִד֙ מַלְאָכִ֔ים אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֖י יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֑ד וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם בְּרֻ[t]כִ֤ים אַתֶּם֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עֲשִׂיתֶ֜ם הַחֶ֣סֶד הַזֶּ֗ה עִם־אֲדֹֽנֵיכֶם֙ עִם־שָׁא֔וּל וַֽתִּקְבְּר֖וּ אֹתֽוֹ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:5 sandte er Boten zu ihnen und ließ ihnen sagen: Gesegnet seid ihr dem HERRN, daß ihr solche Barmherzigkeit an eurem Herrn Saul, getan und ihn begraben habt.(dhs) 2Sa 2:5 So David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, "You are blessed of the Lord, for you have shown this kindness to your lord, to Saul, and have buried him.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:6 ============ 2Sa 2:6 Now may the Lord show lovingkindness and truth to you; and I also will show this goodness to you, because you have done this thing.(nas) 2Sa 2:6 καὶ νῦν ποιήσαι κύριος μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν ἔλεος καὶ ἀλήθειαν καί γε ἐγὼ ποιήσω μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν τὰ ἀγαθὰ ταῦτα ὅτι ἐποιήσατε τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο (lxx) 2Sa 2:6 Et nunc retribuet vobis quidem Dominus misericordiam et veritatem: sed et ego reddam gratiam, eo quod fecistis verbum istud.(vulgate) 6 ׃2 וְעַתָּ֕ה יַֽעַשׂ־יְהוָ֥ה עִמָּכֶ֖ם חֶ֣סֶד וֶאֱמֶ֑ת וְגַ֣ם אָנֹכִ֗י אֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה אִתְּכֶם֙ הַטּוֹבָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֥ר עֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:6 So tue nun an euch der HERR Barmherzigkeit und Treue; und ich will euch auch Gutes tun, darum daß ihr solches getan habt.(dhs) 2Sa 2:6 And now may the Lord show kindness and truth to you. I also will repay you this kindness, because you have done this thing.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:7 ============ 2Sa 2:7 Now therefore, let your hands be strong and be valiant; for Saul your lord is dead, and also the house of Judah has anointed me king over them."(nas) 2Sa 2:7 καὶ νῦν κραταιούσθωσαν αἱ χεῖρες ὑμῶν καὶ γίνεσθε εἰς υἱοὺς δυνατούς ὅτι τέθνηκεν ὁ κύριος ὑμῶν Σαουλ καί γε ἐμὲ κέχρικεν ὁ οἶκος Ιουδα ἐφ᾽ ἑαυτοὺς εἰς βασιλέα (lxx) 2Sa 2:7 Confortentur manus vestræ, et estote filii fortitudinis: licet enim mortuus sit dominus vester Saul, tamen me unxit domus Juda in regem sibi.~(vulgate) 7 ׃2 וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ תֶּחֱזַ֣קְנָה יְדֵיכֶ֗ם וִֽהְיוּ֙ לִבְנֵי־חַ֔יִל כִּי־מֵ֖ת אֲדֹנֵיכֶ֣ם שָׁא֑וּל וְגַם־אֹתִ֗י מָשְׁח֧וּ בֵית־יְהוּדָ֛ה לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ פ Samuel2 2Sa 2:7 So seien nun eure Hände getrost, und seit freudig; denn euer Herr, Saul ist tot; so hat mich das Haus Juda zum König gesalbt über sich.(dhs) 2Sa 2:7 Now therefore, let your hands be strengthened, and be valiant; for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah has anointed me king over them."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:8 ============ 2Sa 2:8 But Abner the son of Ner, commander of Saul's army, had taken Ish-bosheth the son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim.(nas) 2Sa 2:8 καὶ Αβεννηρ υἱὸς Νηρ ἀρχιστράτηγος τοῦ Σαουλ ἔλαβεν τὸν Ιεβοσθε υἱὸν Σαουλ καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τῆς παρεμβολῆς εἰς Μαναεμ (lxx) 2Sa 2:8 Abner autem filius Ner, princeps exercitus Saul, tulit Isboseth filium Saul, et circumduxit eum per castra,(vulgate) 8 ׃2 וְאַבְנֵ֣ר בֶּן־נֵ֔ר שַׂר־צָבָ֖א אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְשָׁא֑וּל לָקַ֗ח אֶת־אִ֥ישׁ בֹּ֙שֶׁת֙ בֶּן־שָׁא֔וּל וַיַּעֲבִרֵ֖הוּ מַחֲנָֽיִם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:8 Abner aber, der Sohn Ners, der Sauls Feldhauptmann war, nahm Is-Boseth, Sauls Sohn, und führte ihn gen Mahanaim(dhs) 2Sa 2:8 But Abner the son of Ner, commander of Saul's army, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim;(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:9 ============ 2Sa 2:9 He made him king over Gilead, over the Ashurites, over Jezreel, over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, even over all Israel.(nas) 2Sa 2:9 καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν Γαλααδῖτιν καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Θασιρι καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Ιεζραελ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Εφραιμ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Sa 2:9 regemque constituit super Galaad, et super Gessuri, et super Jezraël, et super Ephraim, et super Benjamin, et super Israël universum.(vulgate) 9 ׃2 וַיַּמְלִכֵ֙הוּ֙ אֶל־הַגִּלְעָ֔ד וְאֶל־הָאֲשׁוּרִ֖י וְאֶֽל־יִזְרְעֶ֑אל וְעַל־אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ וְעַל־בִּנְיָמִ֔ן וְעַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כֻּלֹּֽה׃ פ Samuel2 2Sa 2:9 und machte ihn zum König über Gilead, über die Asuriter, über Jesreel, Ephraim, Benjamin und über ganz Israel.(dhs) 2Sa 2:9 and he made him king over Gilead, over the Ashurites, over Jezreel, over Ephraim, over Benjamin, and over all Israel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:10 ============ 2Sa 2:10 Ish-bosheth, Saul's son, was forty years old when he became king over Israel, and he was king for two years. The house of Judah, however, followed David.(nas) 2Sa 2:10 τεσσαράκοντα ἐτῶν Ιεβοσθε υἱὸς Σαουλ ὅτε ἐβασίλευσεν ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ δύο ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν πλὴν τοῦ οἴκου Ιουδα οἳ ἦσαν ὀπίσω Δαυιδ (lxx) 2Sa 2:10 Quadraginta annorum erat Isboseth filius Saul cum regnare cœpisset super Israël, et duobus annis regnavit: sola autem domus Juda sequebatur David.(vulgate) 10 ׃2 בֶּן־אַרְבָּעִ֨ים שָׁנָ֜ה אִֽישׁ־בֹּ֣שֶׁת בֶּן־שָׁא֗וּל בְּמָלְכוֹ֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּשְׁתַּ֥יִם שָׁנִ֖ים מָלָ֑ךְ אַ֚ךְ בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה הָי֖וּ אַחֲרֵ֥י דָוִֽד׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:10 Und Is-Boseth, Sauls Sohn, war vierzig Jahre alt, da er König ward über Israel, und regierte zwei Jahre. Aber das Haus Juda hielt es mit David.(dhs) 2Sa 2:10 Ishbosheth, Saul's son, was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and he reigned two years. Only the house of Judah followed David.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:11 ============ 2Sa 2:11 The time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.(nas) 2Sa 2:11 καὶ ἐγένοντο αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς Δαυιδ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Χεβρων ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ιουδα ἑπτὰ ἔτη καὶ ἓξ μῆνας (lxx) 2Sa 2:11 Et fuit numerus dierum quos commoratus est David imperans in Hebron super domum Juda, septem annorum et sex mensium.~(vulgate) 11 ׃2 וַֽיְהִי֙ מִסְפַּ֣ר הַיָּמִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר֩ הָיָ֨ה דָוִ֥ד מֶ֛לֶךְ בְּחֶבְר֖וֹן עַל־בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים וְשִׁשָּׁ֥ה חֳדָשִֽׁים׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 2:11 Die Zeit aber, da David König war zu Hebron über das Haus Juda, war sieben Jahre und sechs Monate.(dhs) 2Sa 2:11 And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:12 ============ 2Sa 2:12 Now Abner the son of Ner, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon with the servants of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul.(nas) 2Sa 2:12 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Αβεννηρ υἱὸς Νηρ καὶ οἱ παῖδες Ιεβοσθε υἱοῦ Σαουλ ἐκ Μαναεμ εἰς Γαβαων (lxx) 2Sa 2:12 Egressusque est Abner filius Ner, et pueri Isboseth filii Saul, de castris in Gabaon.(vulgate) 12 ׃2 וַיֵּצֵא֙ אַבְנֵ֣ר בֶּן־נֵ֔ר וְעַבְדֵ֖י אִֽישׁ־בֹּ֣שֶׁת בֶּן־שָׁא֑וּל מִֽמַּחֲנַ֖יִם גִּבְעֽוֹנָה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:12 Und Abner, der Sohn Ners, zog aus samt den Knechten Is-Boseths, des Sohnes Sauls, von Mahanaim, gen Gibeon;(dhs) 2Sa 2:12 Now Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:13 ============ 2Sa 2:13 And Joab the son of Zeruiah and the servants of David went out and met them by the pool of Gibeon; and they sat down, one on the one side of the pool and the other on the other side of the pool.(nas) 2Sa 2:13 καὶ Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουιας καὶ οἱ παῖδες Δαυιδ ἐξήλθοσαν ἐκ Χεβρων καὶ συναντῶσιν αὐτοῖς ἐπὶ τὴν κρήνην τὴν Γαβαων ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό καὶ ἐκάθισαν οὗτοι ἐπὶ τὴν κρήνην τὴν Γαβαων ἐντεῦθεν καὶ οὗτοι ἐπὶ τὴν κρήνην ἐντεῦθεν (lxx) 2Sa 2:13 Porro Joab filius Sarviæ, et pueri David, egressi sunt, et occurrerunt eis juxta piscinam Gabaon. Et cum in unum convenissent, e regione sederunt: hi ex una parte piscinæ, et illi ex altera.(vulgate) 13 ׃2 וְיוֹאָ֨ב בֶּן־צְרוּיָ֜ה וְעַבְדֵ֤י דָוִד֙ יָֽצְא֔וּ וַֽיִּפְגְּשׁ֛וּם עַל־בְּרֵכַ֥ת גִּבְע֖וֹן יַחְדָּ֑ו וַיֵּ֨שְׁב֜וּ אֵ֤לֶּה עַל־הַבְּרֵכָה֙ מִזֶּ֔ה וְאֵ֥לֶּה עַל־הַבְּרֵכָ֖ה מִזֶּֽה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:13 und Joab, der Zeruja Sohn, zog aus samt den Knechten Davids; und sie stießen aufeinander am Teich zu Gibeon, und lagerten sich diese auf dieser Seite des Teichs, jene auf jener Seite.(dhs) 2Sa 2:13 And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out and met them by the pool of Gibeon. So they sat down, one on one side of the pool and the other on the other side of the pool.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:14 ============ 2Sa 2:14 Then Abner said to Joab, "Now let the young men arise and hold a contest before us." And Joab said, "Let them arise."(nas) 2Sa 2:14 καὶ εἶπεν Αβεννερ πρὸς Ιωαβ ἀναστήτωσαν δὴ τὰ παιδάρια καὶ παιξάτωσαν ἐνώπιον ἡμῶν καὶ εἶπεν Ιωαβ ἀναστήτωσαν (lxx) 2Sa 2:14 Dixitque Abner ad Joab: Surgant pueri, et ludant coram nobis. Et respondit Joab: Surgant.(vulgate) 14 ׃2 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אַבְנֵר֙ אֶל־יוֹאָ֔ב יָק֤וּמוּ נָא֙ הַנְּעָרִ֔ים וִֽישַׂחֲק֖וּ לְפָנֵ֑ינוּ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יוֹאָ֖ב יָקֻֽמוּ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:14 Und Abner sprach zu Joab: Laß sich die Leute aufmachen und vor uns spielen. Joab sprach: Es gilt wohl.(dhs) 2Sa 2:14 Then Abner said to Joab, "Let the young men now arise and compete before us." And Joab said, "Let them arise."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:15 ============ 2Sa 2:15 So they arose and went over by count, twelve for Benjamin and Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.(nas) 2Sa 2:15 καὶ ἀνέστησαν καὶ παρῆλθον ἐν ἀριθμῷ τῶν παίδων Βενιαμιν δώδεκα τῶν Ιεβοσθε υἱοῦ Σαουλ καὶ δώδεκα ἐκ τῶν παίδων Δαυιδ (lxx) 2Sa 2:15 Surrexerunt ergo, et transierunt numero duodecim de Benjamin, ex parte Isboseth filii Saul, et duodecim de pueris David.(vulgate) 15 ׃2 וַיָּקֻ֖מוּ וַיַּעַבְר֣וּ בְמִסְפָּ֑ר שְׁנֵ֧ים עָשָׂ֣ר לְבִנְיָמִ֗ן וּלְאִ֥ישׁ בֹּ֙שֶׁת֙ בֶּן־שָׁא֔וּל וּשְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ר מֵעַבְדֵ֥י דָוִֽד׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:15 Da machten sich auf und gingen hin an der Zahl zwölf aus Benjamin auf Is-Boseths Teil, des Sohnes Sauls, und zwölf von den Knechten Davids.(dhs) 2Sa 2:15 So they arose and went over by number, twelve from Benjamin, followers of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve from the servants of David.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:16 ============ 2Sa 2:16 Each one of them seized his opponent by the head and thrust his sword in his opponent's side; so they fell down together. Why should I strike you to the ground? Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I face your brother Joab?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:23 ============ 2Sa 2:23 However, he refused to turn aside; therefore Abner struck him in the belly with the butt end of the spear, so that the spear came out at his back. And he fell there and died on the spot. And it came about that all who came to the place where Asahel had fallen and died, stood still.(nas) 2Sa 2:23 καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο τοῦ ἀποστῆναι καὶ τύπτει αὐτὸν Αβεννηρ ἐν τῷ ὀπίσω τοῦ δόρατος ἐπὶ τὴν ψόαν καὶ διεξῆλθεν τὸ δόρυ ἐκ τῶν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ καὶ πίπτει ἐκεῖ καὶ ἀποθνῄσκει ὑποκάτω αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγένετο πᾶς ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἕως τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἔπεσεν ἐκεῖ Ασαηλ καὶ ἀπέθανεν καὶ ὑφίστατο (lxx) 2Sa 2:23 Qui audire contempsit, et noluit declinare: percussit ergo eum Abner aversa hasta in inguine, et transfodit, et mortuus est in eodem loco: omnesque qui transibant per locum illum, in quo ceciderat Asaël et mortuus erat, subsistebant.(vulgate) 23 ׃2 וַיְמָאֵ֣ן לָס֗וּר וַיַּכֵּ֣הוּ אַבְנֵר֩ בְּאַחֲרֵ֨י הַחֲנִ֜ית אֶל־הַחֹ֗מֶשׁ וַתֵּצֵ֤א הַֽחֲנִית֙ מֵאַחֲרָ֔יו וַיִּפָּל־שָׁ֖ם וַיָּ֣מָת *תחתו **תַּחְתָּ֑יו וַיְהִ֡י כָּל־הַבָּ֣א אֶֽל־הַמָּקוֹם֩ אֲשֶׁר־נָ֨פַל שָׁ֧ם עֲשָׂה[t]אֵ֛ל וַיָּמֹ֖ת וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽדוּ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:23 Aber er weigerte sich zu weichen. Da stach ihn Abner mit dem Schaft des Spießes in seinen Bauch, daß der Spieß hinten ausging; und er fiel daselbst und starb vor ihm. Und wer an den Ort kam, da Asahel tot lag, der stand still.(dhs) 2Sa 2:23 However, he refused to turn aside. Therefore Abner struck him in the stomach with the blunt end of the spear, so that the spear came out of his back; and he fell down there and died on the spot. So it was that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died, stood still.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:24 ============ 2Sa 2:24 But Joab and Abishai pursued Abner, and when the sun was going down, they came to the hill of Ammah, which is in front of Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.(nas) 2Sa 2:24 καὶ κατεδίωξεν Ιωαβ καὶ Αβεσσα ὀπίσω Αβεννηρ καὶ ὁ ἥλιος ἔδυνεν καὶ αὐτοὶ εἰσῆλθον ἕως τοῦ βουνοῦ Αμμαν ὅ ἐστιν ἐπὶ προσώπου γαι ὁδὸν ἔρημον Γαβαων (lxx) 2Sa 2:24 Persequentibus autem Joab et Abisai fugientem Abner, sol occubuit: et venerunt usque ad collem aquæductus, qui est ex adverso vallis itineris deserti in Gabaon.(vulgate) 24 ׃2 וַֽיִּרְדְּפ֛וּ יוֹאָ֥ב וַאֲבִישַׁ֖י אַחֲרֵ֣י אַבְנֵ֑ר וְהַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ בָּ֔אָה וְהֵ֗מָה בָּ֚אוּ עַד־גִּבְעַ֣ת אַמָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־פְּנֵי־גִ֔יחַ דֶּ֖רֶךְ מִדְבַּ֥ר גִּבְעֽוֹן׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:24 Aber Joab und Abisai jagten Abner nach, bis die Sonne unterging. And the sun was going down when they came to the hill of Ammah, which is before Giah by the road to the Wilderness of Gibeon.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:25 ============ 2Sa 2:25 The sons of Benjamin gathered together behind Abner and became one band, and they stood on the top of a certain hill.(nas) 2Sa 2:25 καὶ συναθροίζονται υἱοὶ Βενιαμιν οἱ ὀπίσω Αβεννηρ καὶ ἐγενήθησαν εἰς συνάντησιν μίαν καὶ ἔστησαν ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν βουνοῦ ἑνός (lxx) 2Sa 2:25 Congregatique sunt filii Benjamin ad Abner: et conglobati in unum cuneum, steterunt in summitate tumuli unius.(vulgate) 25 ׃2 וַיִּֽתְקַבְּצ֤וּ בְנֵֽי־בִנְיָמִן֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י אַבְנֵ֔ר וַיִּהְי֖וּ לַאֲגֻדָּ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת וַיַּ֣עַמְד֔וּ עַ֥ל רֹאשׁ־גִּבְעָ֖ה אֶחָֽת׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:25 versammelten sich die Kinder Benjamin hinter Abner her und wurden ein Haufe und traten auf eines Hügels Spitze.(dhs) 2Sa 2:25 Now the children of Benjamin gathered together behind Abner and became a unit, and took their stand on top of a hill.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 2:26 ============ 2Sa 2:26 Then Abner called to Joab and said, "Shall the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it will be bitter in the end? How long will you refrain from telling the people to turn back from following their brothers?"(nas) 2Sa 2:26 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Αβεννηρ Ιωαβ καὶ εἶπεν μὴ εἰς νῖκος καταφάγεται ἡ ῥομφαία ἦ οὐκ οἶδας ὅτι πικρὰ ἔσται εἰς τὰ ἔσχατα καὶ ἕως πότε οὐ μὴ εἴπῃς τῷ λαῷ ἀναστρέφειν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἡμῶν (lxx) 2Sa 2:26 Et exclamavit Abner ad Joab, et ait: Num usque ad internecionem tuus mucro desæviet? an ignoras quod periculosa sit desperatio? usquequo non dicis populo ut omittat persequi fratres suos?(vulgate) 26 ׃2 וַיִּקְרָ֨א אַבְנֵ֜ר אֶל־יוֹאָ֗ב וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הֲלָנֶ֙צַח֙ תֹּ֣אכַל חֶ֔רֶב הֲל֣וֹא יָדַ֔עְתָּה כִּֽי־מָרָ֥ה תִהְיֶ֖ה בָּאַחֲרוֹנָ֑ה וְעַד־מָתַי֙ לֹֽא־תֹאמַ֣ר לָעָ֔ם לָשׁ֖וּב מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:26 Und Abner rief zu Joab und sprach: Soll denn das Schwert ohne Ende fressen? Weißt du nicht, daß hernach möchte mehr Jammer werden? Wie lange willst du dem Volk nicht sagen, daß es ablasse von seinen Brüdern?(dhs) 2Sa 2:26 Then Abner called to Joab and said, "Shall the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it will be bitter in the latter end? Then Joab and his men went all night until the day dawned at Hebron.(nas) 2Sa 2:32 καὶ αἴρουσιν τὸν Ασαηλ καὶ θάπτουσιν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ τάφῳ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἐν Βαιθλεεμ καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ιωαβ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὅλην τὴν νύκτα καὶ διέφαυσεν αὐτοῖς ἐν Χεβρων (lxx) 2Sa 2:32 Tuleruntque Asaël, et sepelierunt eum in sepulchro patris sui in Bethlehem: et ambulaverunt tota nocte Joab et viri qui erant cum eo, et in ipso crepusculo pervenerunt in Hebron.(vulgate) 32 ׃2 וַיִּשְׂאוּ֙ אֶת־עֲשָׂהאֵ֔ל וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֙הוּ֙ בְּקֶ֣בֶר אָבִ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֖ר בֵּ֣ית לָ֑חֶם וַיֵּלְכ֣וּ כָל־הַלַּ֗יְלָה יוֹאָב֙ וַֽאֲנָשָׁ֔יו וַיֵּאֹ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם בְּחֶבְרֽוֹן׃ Samuel2 2Sa 2:32 Und sie hoben Asahel auf und begruben ihn in seines Vaters Grab zu Bethlehem.
