Today's Date: ======= 2 Samuel 24:1 ============ 2Sa 24:1 Now again the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and it incited David against them to say, "Go, number Israel and Judah."(nas) 2Sa 24:1 καὶ προσέθετο ὀργὴ κυρίου ἐκκαῆναι ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπέσεισεν τὸν Δαυιδ ἐν αὐτοῖς λέγων βάδιζε ἀρίθμησον τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ τὸν Ιουδα (lxx) 2Sa 24:1 Et addidit furor Domini irasci contra Israël, commovitque David in eis dicentem: Vade, numera Israël et Judam.(vulgate) 1 ׃24 וַיֹּ֙סֶף֙ אַף־יְהוָ֔ה לַחֲר֖וֹת בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּ֨סֶת אֶת־דָּוִ֤ד בָּהֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֵ֛ךְ מְנֵ֥ה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְאֶת־יְהוּדָֽה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:1 Und der Zorn des HERRN ergrimmte abermals wider Israel und er reizte David wider sie, daß er sprach: Gehe hin, zähle Israel und Juda!(dhs) 2Sa 24:1 Again the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, "Go, number Israel and Judah."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:2 ============ 2Sa 24:2 The king said to Joab the commander of the army who was with him, "Go about now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, and register the people, that I may know the number of the people."(nas) 2Sa 24:2 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ιωαβ ἄρχοντα τῆς ἰσχύος τὸν μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ δίελθε δὴ πάσας φυλὰς Ισραηλ ἀπὸ Δαν καὶ ἕως Βηρσαβεε καὶ ἐπίσκεψαι τὸν λαόν καὶ γνώσομαι τὸν ἀριθμὸν τοῦ λαοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 24:2 Dixitque rex ad Joab principem exercitus sui: Perambula omnes tribus Israël a Dan usque Bersabee, et numerate populum, ut sciam numerum ejus.(vulgate) 2 ׃24 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶל־יוֹאָ֣ב ׀ שַׂר־הַחַ֣יִל אֲשֶׁר־אִתּ֗וֹ שֽׁוּט־נָ֞א בְּכָל־שִׁבְטֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִדָּן֙ וְעַד־בְּאֵ֣ר שֶׁ֔בַע וּפִקְד֖וּ אֶת־הָעָ֑ם וְיָ֣דַעְתִּ֔י אֵ֖ת מִסְפַּ֥ר הָעָֽם׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 24:2 Und der König sprach zu Joab, seinem Feldhauptmann: Gehe umher in allen Stämmen Israels von Dan an bis gen Beer-Seba und zähle das Volk, daß ich wisse, wieviel sein ist!(dhs) 2Sa 24:2 So the king said to Joab the commander of the army who was with him, "Now go throughout all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, and count the people, that I may know the number of the people."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:3 ============ 2Sa 24:3 But Joab said to the king, "Now may the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as they are, while the eyes of my lord the king still see; but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?"(nas) 2Sa 24:3 καὶ εἶπεν Ιωαβ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ προσθείη κύριος ὁ θεός σου πρὸς τὸν λαὸν ὥσπερ αὐτοὺς καὶ ὥσπερ αὐτοὺς ἑκατονταπλασίονα καὶ ὀφθαλμοὶ τοῦ κυρίου μου τοῦ βασιλέως ὁρῶντες καὶ ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς ἵνα τί βούλεται ἐν τῷ λόγῳ τούτῳ (lxx) 2Sa 24:3 Dixitque Joab regi: Adaugeat Dominus Deus tuus ad populum tuum, quantus nunc est, iterumque centuplicet in conspectu domini mei regis: sed quid sibi dominus meus rex vult in re hujuscemodi?(vulgate) 3 ׃24 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יוֹאָ֜ב אֶל־הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ וְיוֹסֵ֣ף יְהוָה֩ אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ אֶל־הָעָ֜ם כָּהֵ֤ם ׀ וְכָהֵם֙ מֵאָ֣ה פְעָמִ֔ים וְעֵינֵ֥י אֲדֹנִֽי־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ רֹא֑וֹת וַאדֹנִ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לָ֥מָּה חָפֵ֖ץ בַּדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:3 Joab sprach zu dem König: Der HERR, dein Gott, tue diesem Volk, wie es jetzt ist, noch hundertmal soviel, daß mein Herr, der König, seiner Augen Lust daran sehe; aber was hat mein Herr König zu dieser Sache Lust?(dhs) 2Sa 24:3 And Joab said to the king, "Now may the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times more than there are, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king desire this thing?"(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:4 ============ 2Sa 24:4 Nevertheless, the king's word prevailed against Joab and against the commanders of the army. So Joab and the commanders of the army went out from the presence of the king to register the people of Israel.(nas) 2Sa 24:4 καὶ ὑπερίσχυσεν ὁ λόγος τοῦ βασιλέως πρὸς Ιωαβ καὶ εἰς τοὺς ἄρχοντας τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Ιωαβ καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς ἰσχύος ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως ἐπισκέψασθαι τὸν λαὸν Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Sa 24:4 Obtinuit autem sermo regis verba Joab et principum exercitus: egressusque est Joab et princeps militum a facie regis, ut numerarent populum Israël.(vulgate) 4 ׃24 וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק דְּבַר־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶל־יוֹאָ֔ב וְעַ֖ל שָׂרֵ֣י הֶחָ֑יִל וַיֵּצֵ֨א יוֹאָ֜ב וְשָׂרֵ֤י הַחַ֙יִל֙ לִפְנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לִפְקֹ֥ד אֶת־הָעָ֖ם אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:4 Aber des Königs Wort stand fest wider Joab und die Hauptleute des Heeres. Also zog Joab aus und die Hauptleute des Heeres von dem König, daß sie das Volk Israel zählten.(dhs) 2Sa 24:4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab and against the captains of the army. Therefore Joab and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king to count the people of Israel.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:5 ============ 2Sa 24:5 They crossed the Jordan and camped in Aroer, on the right side of the city that is in the middle of the valley of Gad and toward Jazer.(nas) 2Sa 24:5 καὶ διέβησαν τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐν Αροηρ ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς πόλεως τῆς ἐν μέσῳ τῆς φάραγγος Γαδ καὶ Ελιεζερ (lxx) 2Sa 24:5 Cumque pertransissent Jordanem, venerunt in Aroër ad dexteram urbis, quæ est in valle Gad:(vulgate) 5 ׃24 וַיַּעַבְר֖וּ אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וַיַּחֲנ֣וּ בַעֲרוֹעֵ֗ר יְמִ֥ין הָעִ֛יר אֲשֶׁ֛ר בְּתוֹךְ־הַנַּ֥חַל הַגָּ֖ד וְאֶל־יַעְזֵֽר׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:5 Und sie gingen über den Jordan und lagerten sich zu Aroer, zur Rechten der Stadt, die am Bach Gad liegt, und gen Jaser hin,(dhs) 2Sa 24:5 And they crossed over the Jordan and camped in Aroer, on the right side of the town which is in the midst of the ravine of Gad, and toward Jazer.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:6 ============ 2Sa 24:6 Then they came to Gilead and to the land of Tahtim-hodshi, and they came to Dan-jaan and around to Sidon,(nas) 2Sa 24:6 καὶ ἦλθον εἰς τὴν Γαλααδ καὶ εἰς γῆν Θαβασων ἥ ἐστιν Αδασαι καὶ παρεγένοντο εἰς Δανιδαν καὶ Ουδαν καὶ ἐκύκλωσαν εἰς Σιδῶνα (lxx) 2Sa 24:6 et per Jazer transierunt in Galaad, et in terram inferiorem Hodsi, et venerunt in Dan silvestria. Circumeuntesque juxta Sidonem,(vulgate) 6 ׃24 וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ הַגִּלְעָ֔דָה וְאֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ תַּחְתִּ֖ים חָדְשִׁ֑י וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ דָּ֣נָה יַּ֔עַן וְסָבִ֖יב אֶל־צִידֽוֹן׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:6 und kamen gen Gilead und ins Niederland Hodsi, und kamen gen Dan-Jaan und um Sidon her,(dhs) 2Sa 24:6 Then they came to Gilead and to the land of Tahtim Hodshi; they came to Dan Jaan and around to Sidon;(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:7 ============ 2Sa 24:7 and came to the fortress of Tyre and to all the cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites, and they went out to the south of Judah, to Beersheba.(nas) 2Sa 24:7 καὶ ἦλθαν εἰς Μαψαρ Τύρου καὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις τοῦ Ευαίου καὶ τοῦ Χαναναίου καὶ ἦλθαν κατὰ νότον Ιουδα εἰς Βηρσαβεε (lxx) 2Sa 24:7 transierunt prope mœnia Tyri, et omnem terram Hevæi et Chananæi, veneruntque ad meridiem Juda in Bersabee:(vulgate) 7 ׃24 וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ מִבְצַר־צֹ֔ר וְכָל־עָרֵ֥י הַחִוִּ֖י וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑י וַיּ[t]ֵֽ[m]צְא֛וּ אֶל־נֶ֥גֶב יְהוּדָ֖ה בְּאֵ֥ר שָֽׁבַע׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:7 und kamen zu der festen Stadt Tyrus und allen Städten der Heviter und Kanaaniter, und kamen hinaus an den Mittag Juda's gen Beer-Seba,(dhs) 2Sa 24:7 and they came to the stronghold of Tyre and to all the cities of the Hivites and the Canaanites. Then they went out to South Judah as far as Beersheba.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:8 ============ 2Sa 24:8 So when they had gone about through the whole land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.(nas) 2Sa 24:8 καὶ περιώδευσαν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ καὶ παρεγένοντο ἀπὸ τέλους ἐννέα μηνῶν καὶ εἴκοσι ἡμερῶν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Sa 24:8 et lustrata universa terra, affuerunt post novem menses et viginti dies in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 8 ׃24 וַיָּשֻׁ֖טוּ בְּכָל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ מִקְצֵ֨ה תִשְׁעָ֧ה חֳדָשִׁ֛ים וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים י֖וֹם יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:8 und durchzogen das ganze land und kamen nach neuen Monaten und zwanzig Tagen gen Jerusalem.(dhs) 2Sa 24:8 So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:9 ============ 2Sa 24:9 And Joab gave the number of the registration of the people to the king; and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.(nas) 2Sa 24:9 καὶ ἔδωκεν Ιωαβ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῆς ἐπισκέψεως τοῦ λαοῦ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ ἐγένετο Ισραηλ ὀκτακόσιαι χιλιάδες ἀνδρῶν δυνάμεως σπωμένων ῥομφαίαν καὶ ἀνὴρ Ιουδα πεντακόσιαι χιλιάδες ἀνδρῶν μαχητῶν (lxx) 2Sa 24:9 Dedit ergo Joab numerum descriptionis populi regi, et inventa sunt de Israël octingenta millia virorum fortium qui educerent gladium, et de Juda quingenta millia pugnatorum.~(vulgate) 9 ׃24 וַיִּתֵּ֥ן יוֹאָ֛ב אֶת־מִסְפַּ֥ר מִפְקַד־הָעָ֖ם אֶל־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַתְּהִ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל שְׁמֹנֶה֩ מֵא֨וֹת אֶ֤לֶף אִֽישׁ־חַ֙יִל֙ שֹׁ֣לֵֽף חֶ֔רֶב וְאִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה חֲמֵשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אֶ֖לֶף אִֽישׁ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:9 Und Joab gab dem König die Summe des Volks, das gezählt war. Und es waren in Israel achthundertmal tausend starke Männer, die das Schwert auszogen, und in Juda fünfhundertmal tausend Mann.(dhs) 2Sa 24:9 Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to the king. And there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:10 ============ 2Sa 24:10 Now David's heart troubled him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the Lord, "I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O Lord, please take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very foolishly."(nas) 2Sa 24:10 καὶ ἐπάταξεν καρδία Δαυιδ αὐτὸν μετὰ τὸ ἀριθμῆσαι τὸν λαόν καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς κύριον ἥμαρτον σφόδρα ὃ ἐποίησα νῦν κύριε παραβίβασον δὴ τὴν ἀνομίαν τοῦ δούλου σου ὅτι ἐμωράνθην σφόδρα (lxx) 2Sa 24:10 Percussit autem cor David eum, postquam numeratus est populus: et dixit David ad Dominum: Peccavi valde in hoc facto: sed precor, Domine, ut transferas iniquitatem servi tui, quia stulte egi nimis.(vulgate) 10 ׃24 וַיַּ֤ךְ לֵב־דָּוִד֙ אֹת֔וֹ אַחֲרֵי־כֵ֖ן סָפַ֣ר אֶת־הָעָ֑ם ס וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד אֶל־יְהוָ֗ה חָטָ֤אתִי מְאֹד֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתִי וְעַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה הַֽעֲבֶר־נָא֙ אֶת־עֲוֺ֣ן עַבְדְּךָ֔ כִּ֥י נִסְכַּ֖לְתִּי מְאֹֽד׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:10 Und das Herz schlug David, nachdem das Volk gezählt war. Und David sprach zum HERRN: Ich habe schwer gesündigt, daß ich das getan habe; und nun, HERR, nimm weg die Missetat deines Knechtes; denn ich habe sehr töricht getan.(dhs) 2Sa 24:10 And David's heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the Lord, "I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O Lord, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:11 ============ 2Sa 24:11 When David arose in the morning, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,(nas) 2Sa 24:11 καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ τὸ πρωί καὶ λόγος κυρίου ἐγένετο πρὸς Γαδ τὸν προφήτην τὸν ὁρῶντα Δαυιδ λέγων (lxx) 2Sa 24:11 Surrexit itaque David mane, et sermo Domini factus est ad Gad prophetam et videntem David, dicens:(vulgate) 11 ׃24 וַיָּ֥קָם דָּוִ֖ד בַּבֹּ֑קֶר פ וּדְבַר־יְהוָ֗ה הָיָה֙ אֶל־גָּ֣ד הַנָּבִ֔יא חֹזֵ֥ה דָוִ֖ד לֵאמֹֽר׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:11 Und da David des Morgens aufstand, kam des HERRN Wort zu Gad, dem Propheten, Davids Seher, und sprach:(dhs) 2Sa 24:11 Now when David arose in the morning, the word of the Lord came to the prophet Gad, David's seer, saying,(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:12 ============ 2Sa 24:12 "Go and speak to David, 'Thus the Lord says, "I am offering you three things; choose for yourself one of them, which I will do to you."'"(nas) 2Sa 24:12 πορεύθητι καὶ λάλησον πρὸς Δαυιδ λέγων τάδε λέγει κύριος τρία ἐγώ εἰμι αἴρω ἐπὶ σέ καὶ ἔκλεξαι σεαυτῷ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ ποιήσω σοι (lxx) 2Sa 24:12 Vade, et loquere ad David: Hæc dicit Dominus: Trium tibi datur optio: elige unum quod volueris ex his, ut faciam tibi.(vulgate) 12 ׃24 הָל֞וֹךְ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֣ אֶל־דָּוִ֗ד כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה שָׁלֹ֕שׁ אָנֹכִ֖י נוֹטֵ֣ל עָלֶ֑יךָ בְּחַר־לְךָ֥ אַֽחַת־מֵהֶ֖ם וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:12 Gehe hin und rede mit David: So spricht der HERR: Dreierlei bringe ich zu dir; erwähle dir deren eins, daß ich es dir tue.(dhs) 2Sa 24:12 "Go and tell David, 'Thus says the Lord: "I offer you three things; choose one of them for yourself, that I may do it to you." ' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:13 ============ 2Sa 24:13 So Gad came to David and told him, and said to him, "Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days' pestilence in your land? Now consider and see what answer I shall return to Him who sent me."(nas) 2Sa 24:13 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Γαδ πρὸς Δαυιδ καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν αὐτῷ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἔκλεξαι σεαυτῷ γενέσθαι εἰ ἔλθῃ σοι τρία ἔτη λιμὸς ἐν τῇ γῇ σου ἢ τρεῖς μῆνας φεύγειν σε ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου καὶ ἔσονται διώκοντές σε ἢ γενέσθαι τρεῖς ἡμέρας θάνατον ἐν τῇ γῇ σου νῦν οὖν γνῶθι καὶ ἰδὲ τί ἀποκριθῶ τῷ ἀποστείλαντί με ῥῆμα (lxx) 2Sa 24:13 Cumque venisset Gad ad David, nuntiavit ei, dicens: Aut septem annis veniet tibi fames in terra tua: aut tribus mensibus fugies adversarios tuos, et ille te persequentur: aut certe tribus diebus erit pestilentia in terra tua. Nunc ergo delibera, et vide quem respondeam ei qui me misit sermonem.(vulgate) 13 ׃24 וַיָּבֹא־גָ֥ד אֶל־דָּוִ֖ד וַיַּגֶּד־ל֑וֹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֡וֹ הֲתָב֣וֹא לְךָ֣ שֶֽׁבַע־שָׁנִ֣ים ׀ רָעָ֣ב ׀ בְּאַרְצֶ֡ךָ אִם־שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה חֳ֠דָשִׁים נֻסְךָ֨ לִפְנֵֽי־צָרֶ֜יךָ וְה֣וּא רֹדְפֶ֗ךָ וְאִם־הֱ֠יוֹת שְׁלֹ֨שֶׁת יָמִ֥ים דֶּ֙בֶר֙ בְּאַרְצֶ֔ךָ עַתָּה֙ דַּ֣ע וּרְאֵ֔ה מָה־אָשִׁ֥יב שֹׁלְחִ֖י דָּבָֽר׃ ס Samuel2 2Sa 24:13 Gad kam zu David und sagte es ihm an und sprach zu ihm: Willst du, daß sieben Jahre Teuerung in dein Land komme? oder daß du drei Monate vor deinen Widersachern fliehen müssest und sie dich verfolgen? oder drei Tage Pestilenz in deinem Lande sei? So merke nun und siehe, was ich wieder sagen soll dem, der mich gesandt hat.(dhs) 2Sa 24:13 So Gad came to David and told him; and he said to him, "Shall seven years of famine come to you in your land? Or shall you flee three months before your enemies, while they pursue you? Or shall there be three days' plague in your land? Now consider and see what answer I should take back to Him who sent me."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:14 ============ 2Sa 24:14 Then David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Let us now fall into the hand of the Lord for His mercies are great, but do not let me fall into the hand of man."(nas) 2Sa 24:14 καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Γαδ στενά μοι πάντοθεν σφόδρα ἐστίν ἐμπεσοῦμαι δὴ ἐν χειρὶ κυρίου ὅτι πολλοὶ οἱ οἰκτιρμοὶ αὐτοῦ σφόδρα εἰς δὲ χεῖρας ἀνθρώπου οὐ μὴ ἐμπέσω καὶ ἐξελέξατο ἑαυτῷ Δαυιδ τὸν θάνατον (lxx) 2Sa 24:14 Dixit autem David ad Gad: Coarctor nimis: sed melius est ut incidam in manus Domini (multæ enim misericordiæ ejus sunt) quam in manus hominum.~(vulgate) 14 ׃24 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר דָּוִ֛ד אֶל־גָּ֖ד צַר־לִ֣י מְאֹ֑ד נִפְּלָה־נָּ֤א בְיַד־יְהוָה֙ כִּֽי־רַבִּ֣ים *רחמו **רַֽחֲמָ֔יו וּבְיַד־אָדָ֖ם אַל־אֶפֹּֽלָה׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:14 David sprach zu Gad: Es ist mir sehr angst; aber laß uns in die Hand des HERRN fallen, denn seine Barmherzigkeit ist groß; ich will nicht in der Menschen Hand fallen.(dhs) 2Sa 24:14 And David said to Gad, "I am in great distress. Now relax your hand!" So Araunah went out and bowed before the king with his face to the ground.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:21 ============ 2Sa 24:21 Then Araunah said, "Why has my lord the king come to his servant?" And David said, "To buy the threshing floor from you, in order to build an altar to the Lord, that the plague may be held back from the people."(nas) 2Sa 24:21 καὶ εἶπεν Ορνα τί ὅτι ἦλθεν ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ κτήσασθαι παρὰ σοῦ τὸν ἅλωνα τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι θυσιαστήριον τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ συσχεθῇ ἡ θραῦσις ἐπάνω τοῦ λαοῦ (lxx) 2Sa 24:21 et egressus adoravit regem prono vultu in terram, et ait: Quid causæ est ut veniat dominus meus rex ad servum suum? Cui David ait: Ut emam a te aream, et ædificem altare Domino, et cesset interfectio quæ grassatur in populo.(vulgate) 21 ׃24 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲרַ֔וְנָה מַדּ֛וּעַ בָּ֥א אֲדֹנִֽי־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־עַבְדּ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד לִקְנ֧וֹת מֵעִמְּךָ֣ אֶת־הַגֹּ֗רֶן לִבְנ֤וֹת מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וְתֵעָצַ֥ר הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל הָעָֽם׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:21 und sprach: Warum kommt mein Herr, der König, zu seinem Knecht? David sprach: Zu kaufen von dir die Tenne und zu bauen dem HERRN einen Altar, daß die Plage vom Volk aufhöre.(dhs) 2Sa 24:21 Then Araunah said, "Why has my lord the king come to his servant?" And David said, "To buy the threshing floor from you, to build an altar to the Lord, that the plague may be withdrawn from the people."(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:22 ============ 2Sa 24:22 Araunah said to David, "Let my lord the king take and offer up what is good in his sight. Look, the oxen for the burnt offering, the threshing sledges and the yokes of the oxen for the wood.(nas) 2Sa 24:22 καὶ εἶπεν Ορνα πρὸς Δαυιδ λαβέτω καὶ ἀνενεγκέτω ὁ κύριός μου ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ κυρίῳ τὸ ἀγαθὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ οἱ βόες εἰς ὁλοκαύτωμα καὶ οἱ τροχοὶ καὶ τὰ σκεύη τῶν βοῶν εἰς ξύλα (lxx) 2Sa 24:22 Et ait Areuna ad David: Accipiat, et offerat dominus meus rex sicut placet ei: habes boves in holocaustum, et plaustrum, et juga boum in usum lignorum.(vulgate) 22 ׃24 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲרַ֙וְנָה֙ אֶל־דָּוִ֔ד יִקַּ֥ח וְיַ֛עַל אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַטּ֣וֹב *בעינו **בְּעֵינָ֑יו רְאֵה֙ הַבָּקָ֣ר לָעֹלָ֔ה וְהַמֹּרִגִּ֛ים וּכְלֵ֥י הַבָּקָ֖ר לָעֵצִֽים׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:22 Aber Aravna sprach zu David: Mein Herr, der König, nehme und opfere, wie es ihm gefällt: siehe, da ist ein Rind zum Brandopfer und Schleifen und Geschirr vom Ochsen zu Holz.(dhs) 2Sa 24:22 Now Araunah said to David, "Let my lord the king take and offer up whatever seems good to him. Look, here are oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing implements and the yokes of the oxen for wood.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:23 ============ 2Sa 24:23 Everything, O king, Araunah gives to the king." And Araunah said to the king, "May the Lord your God accept you."(nas) 2Sa 24:23 τὰ πάντα ἔδωκεν Ορνα τῷ βασιλεῖ καὶ εἶπεν Ορνα πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα κύριος ὁ θεός σου εὐλογήσαι σε (lxx) 2Sa 24:23 Omnia dedit Areuna rex regi: dixitque Areuna ad regem: Dominus Deus tuus suscipiat votum tuum.(vulgate) 23 ׃24 הַכֹּ֗ל נָתַ֛ן אֲרַ֥וְנָה הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ לַמֶּ֑לֶךְ ס וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲרַ֙וְנָה֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ יִרְצֶֽךָ׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:23 Das alles gab Aravna, der König, dem König. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.(nas) 2Sa 24:24 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς Ορνα οὐχί ὅτι ἀλλὰ κτώμενος κτήσομαι παρὰ σοῦ ἐν ἀλλάγματι καὶ οὐκ ἀνοίσω τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ μου ὁλοκαύτωμα δωρεάν καὶ ἐκτήσατο Δαυιδ τὸν ἅλωνα καὶ τοὺς βόας ἐν ἀργυρίῳ σίκλων πεντήκοντα (lxx) 2Sa 24:24 Cui respondens rex, ait: Nequaquam ut vis, sed emam pretio a te, et non offeram Domino Deo meo holocausta gratuita. Emit ergo David aream, et boves, argenti siclis quinquaginta:(vulgate) 24 ׃24 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶל־אֲרַ֗וְנָה לֹ֚א כִּֽי־קָנ֨וֹ אֶקְנֶ֤ה מֵאֽוֹתְךָ֙ בִּמְחִ֔יר וְלֹ֧א אַעֲלֶ֛ה לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהַ֖י עֹל֣וֹת חִנָּ֑ם וַיִּ֨קֶן דָּוִ֤ד אֶת־הַגֹּ֙רֶן֙ וְאֶת־הַבָּקָ֔ר בְּכֶ֖סֶף שְׁקָלִ֥ים חֲמִשִּֽׁים׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:24 Aber der König sprach zu Aravna: Nicht also, sondern ich will dir's abkaufen um seinen Preis; denn ich will dem HERRN, meinem Gott, nicht Brandopfer tun, das ich umsonst habe. Also kaufte David die Tenne und das Rind um fünfzig Silberlinge(dhs) 2Sa 24:24 Then the king said to Araunah, "No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.(nkjv) ======= 2 Samuel 24:25 ============ 2Sa 24:25 David built there an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the Lord was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel.(nas) 2Sa 24:25 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ Δαυιδ θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν ὁλοκαυτώσεις καὶ εἰρηνικάς καὶ προσέθηκεν Σαλωμων ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτῳ ὅτι μικρὸν ἦν ἐν πρώτοις καὶ ἐπήκουσεν κύριος τῇ γῇ καὶ συνεσχέθη ἡ θραῦσις ἐπάνωθεν Ισραηλ (lxx) 2Sa 24:25 et ædificavit ibi David altare Domino, et obtulit holocausta et pacifica: et propitiatus est Dominus terræ, et cohibita est plaga ab Israël.(vulgate) 25 ׃24 וַיִּבֶן֩ שָׁ֨ם דָּוִ֤ד מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וַיַּ֥עַל עֹל֖וֹת וּשְׁלָמִ֑ים וַיֵּעָתֵ֤ר יְהוָה֙ לָאָ֔רֶץ וַתֵּעָצַ֥ר הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Samuel2 2Sa 24:25 und baute daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar und opferte Brandopfer und Dankopfer. Und der HERR ward dem Land versöhnt, und die Plage hörte auf von dem Volk Israel.(dhs) 2Sa 24:25 And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.
