Today's Date: ======= 1 Kings 2:1 ============ 1Ki 2:1 As David's time to die drew near, he charged Solomon his son, saying,(nas) 1Ki 2:1 καὶ ἤγγισαν αἱ ἡμέραι Δαυιδ ἀποθανεῖν αὐτόν καὶ ἐνετείλατο τῷ Σαλωμων υἱῷ αὐτοῦ λέγων (lxx) 1Ki 2:1 Appropinquaverunt autem dies David ut moreretur: præcepitque Salomoni filio suo, dicens:(vulgate) 1 ׃2 וַיִּקְרְב֥וּ יְמֵֽי־דָוִ֖ד לָמ֑וּת וַיְצַ֛ו אֶת־שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:1 Als nun die Zeit herbeikam, daß David sterben sollte, gebot er seinem Sohn Salomo und sprach:(dhs) 1Ki 2:1 Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying:(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:2 ============ 1Ki 2:2 "I am going the way of all the earth. Be strong, therefore, and show yourself a man.(nas) 1Ki 2:2 ἐγώ εἰμι πορεύομαι ἐν ὁδῷ πάσης τῆς γῆς καὶ ἰσχύσεις καὶ ἔσῃ εἰς ἄνδρα (lxx) 1Ki 2:2 Ego ingredior viam universæ terræ: confortare, et esto vir.(vulgate) 2 ׃2 אָנֹכִ֣י הֹלֵ֔ךְ בְּדֶ֖רֶךְ כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְחָזַקְתָּ֖ וְהָיִ֥יתָֽ לְאִֽישׁ׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:2 Ich gehe hin den Weg aller Welt; so sei getrost und sei ein Mann(dhs) 1Ki 2:2 "I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:3 ============ 1Ki 2:3 Keep the charge of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to what is written in the Law of Moses, that you may succeed in all that you do and wherever you turn,(nas) 1Ki 2:3 καὶ φυλάξεις τὴν φυλακὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτοῦ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν νόμῳ Μωυσέως ἵνα συνίῃς ἃ ποιήσεις κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι (lxx) 1Ki 2:3 Et observa custodias Domini Dei tui, ut ambules in viis ejus: ut custodias cæremonias ejus, et præcepta ejus, et judicia, et testimonia, sicut scriptum est in lege Moysi: ut intelligas universa quæ facis, et quocumque te verteris:(vulgate) 3 ׃2 וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֞ אֶת־מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת ׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ לָלֶ֤כֶת בִּדְרָכָיו֙ לִשְׁמֹ֨ר חֻקֹּתָ֤יו מִצְוֺתָיו֙ וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֣יו וְעֵדְוֺתָ֔יו כַּכָּת֖וּב בְּתוֹרַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֑ה לְמַ֣עַן תַּשְׂכִּ֗יל אֵ֚ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה וְאֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּפְנֶ֖ה שָֽׁם׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:3 und warte des Dienstes des HERRN, deines Gottes, daß du wandelst in seinen Wegen und haltest seine Sitten, Gebote und Rechte und Zeugnisse, wie geschrieben steht im Gesetz Mose's, auf daß du klug seist in allem, was du tust und wo du dich hin wendest;(dhs) 1Ki 2:3 And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn;(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:4 ============ 1Ki 2:4 so that the Lord may carry out His promise which He spoke concerning me, saying, 'If your sons are careful of their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.'(nas) 1Ki 2:4 ἵνα στήσῃ κύριος τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ ὃν ἐλάλησεν λέγων ἐὰν φυλάξωσιν οἱ υἱοί σου τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτῶν πορεύεσθαι ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ ἐν ἀληθείᾳ ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ αὐτῶν λέγων οὐκ ἐξολεθρευθήσεταί σοι ἀνὴρ ἐπάνωθεν θρόνου Ισραηλ (lxx) 1Ki 2:4 ut confirmet Dominus sermones suos quos locutus est de me, dicens: Si custodierint filii tui vias suas, et ambulaverint coram me in veritate, in omni corde suo et in omni anima sua, non auferetur tibi vir de solio Israël.(vulgate) 4 ׃2 לְמַעַן֩ יָקִ֨ים יְהוָ֜ה אֶת־דְּבָר֗וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֣ר עָלַי֮ לֵאמֹר֒ אִם־יִשְׁמְר֨וּ בָנֶ֜יךָ אֶת־דַּרְכָּ֗ם לָלֶ֤כֶת לְפָנַי֙ בֶּאֱמֶ֔ת בְּכָל־לְבָבָ֖ם וּבְכָל־נַפְשָׁ֑ם לֵאמֹ֕ר לֹֽא־יִכָּרֵ֤ת לְךָ֙ אִ֔ישׁ מֵעַ֖ל כִּסֵּ֥א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:4 auf daß der HERR sein Wort erwecke, das er über mich geredet hat und gesagt: Werden deine Kinder ihre Wege behüten, daß sie vor mir treulich und von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele wandeln, so soll dir nimmer gebrechen ein Mann auf dem Stuhl Israels.(dhs) 1Ki 2:4 that the Lord may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, 'If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,' He said, 'you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.'(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:5 ============ 1Ki 2:5 "Now you also know what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, what he did to the two commanders of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner, and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed; he also shed the blood of war in peace. And he put the blood of war on his belt about his waist, and on his sandals on his feet.(nas) 1Ki 2:5 καί γε σὺ ἔγνως ὅσα ἐποίησέν μοι Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουιας ὅσα ἐποίησεν τοῖς δυσὶν ἄρχουσιν τῶν δυνάμεων Ισραηλ τῷ Αβεννηρ υἱῷ Νηρ καὶ τῷ Αμεσσαϊ υἱῷ Ιεθερ καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔταξεν τὰ αἵματα πολέμου ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ ἔδωκεν αἷμα ἀθῷον ἐν τῇ ζώνῃ αὐτοῦ τῇ ἐν τῇ ὀσφύι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῷ ὑποδήματι αὐτοῦ τῷ ἐν τῷ ποδὶ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 2:5 Tu quoque nosti quæ fecerit mihi Joab filius Sarviæ, quæ fecerit duobus principibus exercitus Israël, Abner filio Ner, et Amasæ filio Jether: quos occidit, et effudit sanguinem belli in pace, et posuit cruorem prælii in balteo suo qui erat circa lumbos ejus, et in calceamento suo quod erat in pedibus ejus.(vulgate) 5 ׃2 וְגַ֣ם אַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֡עְתָּ אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁר־עָ֨שָׂה לִ֜י יוֹאָ֣ב בֶּן־צְרוּיָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֣ה לִשְׁנֵֽי־שָׂרֵ֣י צִבְא֣וֹת יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל לְאַבְנֵ֨ר בֶּן־נֵ֜ר וְלַעֲמָשָׂ֤א בֶן־יֶ֙תֶר֙ וַיַּ֣הַרְגֵ֔ם וַיָּ֥שֶׂם דְּמֵֽי־מִלְחָמָ֖ה בְּשָׁלֹ֑ם וַיִּתֵּ֞ן דְּמֵ֣י מִלְחָמָ֗ה בַּחֲגֹֽרָתוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּמָתְנָ֔יו וּֽבְנַעֲל֖וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּרַגְלָֽיו׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:5 Auch weißt du wohl, was mir getan hat Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, was er tat den zwei Feldhauptmännern Israels, Abner dem Sohn Ners, und Amasa, dem Sohn Jethers, die er erwürgt hat und vergoß Kriegsblut im Frieden und tat Kriegsblut an seinen Gürtel, der um seine Lenden war, und an seine Schuhe, die an seinen Füßen waren.(dhs) 1Ki 2:5 Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two commanders of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed. And he shed the blood of war in peacetime, and put the blood of war on his belt that was around his waist, and on his sandals that were on his feet.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:6 ============ 1Ki 2:6 So act according to your wisdom, and do not let his gray hair go down to Sheol in peace.(nas) 1Ki 2:6 καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὴν σοφίαν σου καὶ οὐ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐν εἰρήνῃ εἰς ᾅδου (lxx) 1Ki 2:6 Facies ergo juxta sapientiam tuam, et non deduces canitiem ejus pacifice ad inferos.(vulgate) 6 ׃2 וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ כְּחָכְמָתֶ֑ךָ וְלֹֽא־תוֹרֵ֧ד שֵׂיבָת֛וֹ בְּשָׁלֹ֖ם שְׁאֹֽל׃ ס Kings1 1Ki 2:6 Tue nach deiner Weisheit, daß du seine grauen Haare nicht mit Frieden hinunter in die Grube bringst.(dhs) 1Ki 2:6 Therefore do according to your wisdom, and do not let his gray hair go down to the grave in peace.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:7 ============ 1Ki 2:7 But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table; for they assisted me when I fled from Absalom your brother.(nas) 1Ki 2:7 καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς Βερζελλι τοῦ Γαλααδίτου ποιήσεις ἔλεος καὶ ἔσονται ἐν τοῖς ἐσθίουσιν τὴν τράπεζάν σου ὅτι οὕτως ἤγγισάν μοι ἐν τῷ με ἀποδιδράσκειν ἀπὸ προσώπου Αβεσσαλωμ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου (lxx) 1Ki 2:7 Sed et filiis Berzellai Galaaditis reddes gratiam, eruntque comedentes in mensa tua: occurrerunt enim mihi quando fugiebam a facie Absalom fratris tui.(vulgate) 7 ׃2 וְלִבְנֵ֨י בַרְזִלַּ֤י הַגִּלְעָדִי֙ תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־חֶ֔סֶד וְהָי֖וּ בְּאֹכְלֵ֣י שֻׁלְחָנֶ֑ךָ כִּי־כֵן֙ קָרְב֣וּ אֵלַ֔י בְּבָרְחִ֕י מִפְּנֵ֖י אַבְשָׁל֥וֹם אָחִֽיךָ׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:7 Aber den Kindern Barsillais, des Gileaditers, sollst du Barmherzigkeit beweisen, daß sie an deinem Tisch essen. Denn also nahten sie zu mir, da ich vor Absalom, deinem Bruder, floh.(dhs) 1Ki 2:7 But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table, for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom your brother.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:8 ============ 1Ki 2:8 Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera the Benjamite, of Bahurim; now it was he who cursed me with a violent curse on the day I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the Lord, saying, 'I will not put you to death with the sword.'(nas) 1Ki 2:8 καὶ ἰδοὺ μετὰ σοῦ Σεμεϊ υἱὸς Γηρα υἱὸς τοῦ Ιεμενι ἐκ Βαουριμ καὶ αὐτὸς κατηράσατό με κατάραν ὀδυνηρὰν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἐπορευόμην εἰς παρεμβολάς καὶ αὐτὸς κατέβη εἰς ἀπαντήν μου εἰς τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ ὤμοσα αὐτῷ ἐν κυρίῳ λέγων εἰ θανατώσω σε ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ (lxx) 1Ki 2:8 Habes quoque apud te Semei filium Gera filii Jemini de Bahurim, qui maledixit mihi maledictione pessima quando ibam ad castra: sed quia descendit mihi in occursum cum transirem Jordanem, et juravi ei per Dominum, dicens: Non te interficiam gladio:(vulgate) 8 ׃2 וְהִנֵּ֣ה עִ֠מְּךָ שִֽׁמְעִ֨י בֶן־גֵּרָ֥א בֶן־הַיְמִינִי֮ מִבַּחֻרִים֒ וְה֤וּא קִֽלְלַ֙נִי֙ קְלָלָ֣ה נִמְרֶ֔צֶת בְּי֖וֹם לֶכְתִּ֣י מַחֲנָ֑יִם וְהֽוּא־יָרַ֤ד לִקְרָאתִי֙ הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וָאֶשָּׁ֨בַֽע ל֤וֹ בַֽיהוָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אִם־אֲמִֽיתְךָ֖ בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:8 Und siehe, du hast bei mir Simei, den Sohn Geras, den Benjaminiter von Bahurim, der mir schändlich fluchte zu der Zeit, da ich gen Mahanaim ging. Er aber kam herab mir entgegen am Jordan. But he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the Lord, saying, 'I will not put you to death with the sword.'(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:9 ============ 1Ki 2:9 Now therefore, do not let him go unpunished, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you will bring his gray hair down to Sheol with blood."(nas) 1Ki 2:9 καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀθῳώσῃς αὐτόν ὅτι ἀνὴρ σοφὸς εἶ σὺ καὶ γνώσῃ ἃ ποιήσεις αὐτῷ καὶ κατάξεις τὴν πολιὰν αὐτοῦ ἐν αἵματι εἰς ᾅδου (lxx) 1Ki 2:9 tu noli pati eum esse innoxium. Vir autem sapiens es, ut scias quæ facies ei: deducesque canos ejus cum sanguine ad inferos.(vulgate) 9 ׃2 וְעַתָּה֙ אַל־תְּנַקֵּ֔הוּ כִּ֛י אִ֥ישׁ חָכָ֖ם אָ֑תָּה וְיָֽדַעְתָּ֙ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּֽעֲשֶׂה־לּ֔וֹ וְהוֹרַדְתָּ֧ אֶת־שֵׂיבָת֛וֹ בְּדָ֖ם שְׁאֽוֹל׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:9 Du aber laß ihn nicht unschuldig sein; denn du bist ein weiser Mann und wirst wohl wissen, was du ihm tun sollst, daß du seine grauen Haare mit Blut hinunter in die Grube bringst.(dhs) 1Ki 2:9 Now therefore, do not hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man and know what you ought to do to him; but bring his gray hair down to the grave with blood."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:10 ============ 1Ki 2:10 Then David slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David.(nas) 1Ki 2:10 καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Δαυιδ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ (lxx) 1Ki 2:10 Dormivit igitur David cum patribus suis, et sepultus est in civitate David.(vulgate) 10 ׃2 וַיִּשְׁכַּ֥ב דָּוִ֖ד עִם־אֲבֹתָ֑יו וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר בְּעִ֥יר דָּוִֽד׃ פ Kings1 1Ki 2:10 Also entschlief David mit seinen Vätern und ward begraben in der Stadt Davids.(dhs) 1Ki 2:10 So David rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:11 ============ 1Ki 2:11 The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years he reigned in Hebron and thirty-three years he reigned in Jerusalem.(nas) 1Ki 2:11 καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἃς ἐβασίλευσεν Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη ἐν Χεβρων ἐβασίλευσεν ἔτη ἑπτὰ καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ τριάκοντα τρία ἔτη (lxx) 1Ki 2:11 Dies autem quibus regnavit David super Israël, quadraginta anni sunt: in Hebron regnavit septem annis; in Jerusalem, triginta tribus.~(vulgate) 11 ׃2 וְהַיָּמִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר מָלַ֤ךְ דָּוִד֙ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה בְּחֶבְר֤וֹן מָלַךְ֙ שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֔ים וּבִירוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם מָלַ֔ךְ שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וְשָׁלֹ֖שׁ שָׁנִֽים׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:11 Die Zeit aber, die David König gewesen ist über Israel, ist vierzig Jahre: sieben Jahre war er König zu Hebron und dreiunddreißig Jahre zu Jerusalem.(dhs) 1Ki 2:11 The period that David reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:12 ============ 1Ki 2:12 And Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was firmly established.(nas) 1Ki 2:12 καὶ Σαλωμων ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ υἱὸς ἐτῶν δώδεκα καὶ ἡτοιμάσθη ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ σφόδρα (lxx) 1Ki 2:12 Salomon autem sedit super thronum David patris sui, et firmatum est regnum ejus nimis.(vulgate) 12 ׃2 וּשְׁלֹמֹ֕ה יָשַׁ֕ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֖א דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו וַתִּכֹּ֥ן מַלְכֻת֖וֹ מְאֹֽד׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:12 Und Salomo saß auf dem Stuhl seines Vaters David, und sein Königreich ward sehr beständig.(dhs) 1Ki 2:12 Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was firmly established.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:13 ============ 1Ki 2:13 Now Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, "Do you come peacefully?" And he said, "Peacefully."(nas) 1Ki 2:13 καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Αδωνιας υἱὸς Αγγιθ πρὸς Βηρσαβεε μητέρα Σαλωμων καὶ προσεκύνησεν αὐτῇ ἡ δὲ εἶπεν εἰρήνη ἡ εἴσοδός σου καὶ εἶπεν εἰρήνη (lxx) 1Ki 2:13 Et ingressus est Adonias filius Haggith ad Bethsabee matrem Salomonis. Quæ dixit ei: Pacificusne est ingressus tuus? Qui respondit: Pacificus.(vulgate) 13 ׃2 וַיָּבֹ֞א אֲדֹנִיָּ֣הוּ בֶן־חַגֵּ֗ית[t] אֶל־בַּת־שֶׁ֙בֶע֙ אֵם־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַתֹּ֖אמֶר הֲשָׁל֣וֹם בֹּאֶ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר שָׁלֽוֹם׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:13 Aber Adonia, der Sohn der Haggith, kam hinein zu Bath-Seba, der Mutter Salomos. Und sie sprach: Kommst du auch in Frieden? Er sprach: Ja!(dhs) 1Ki 2:13 Now Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. So she said, "Do you come peaceably?" And he said, "Peaceably."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:14 ============ 1Ki 2:14 Then he said, "I have something to say to you." Sie sprach: Sage an!(dhs) 1Ki 2:14 Moreover he said, "I have something to say to you." Ask for him the kingdom also--for he is my older brother--for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:23 ============ 1Ki 2:23 Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, "May God do so to me and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.(nas) 1Ki 2:23 καὶ ὤμοσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου λέγων τάδε ποιήσαι μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη ὅτι κατὰ τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ἐλάλησεν Αδωνιας τὸν λόγον τοῦτον (lxx) 1Ki 2:23 Juravit itaque rex Salomon per Dominum, dicens: Hæc faciat mihi Deus, et hæc addat, quia contra animam suam locutus est Adonias verbum hoc.(vulgate) 23 ׃2 וַיִּשָּׁבַע֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה בַּֽיהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּ֣ה יַֽעֲשֶׂה־לִּ֤י אֱלֹהִים֙ וְכֹ֣ה יוֹסִ֔יף כִּ֣י בְנַפְשׁ֔וֹ דִּבֶּר֙ אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּֽה׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:23 und der König Salomo schwur bei dem HERRN und sprach: Gott tue mir dies und das, Adonia soll das wider sein Leben geredet haben!(dhs) 1Ki 2:23 Then King Solomon swore by the Lord, saying, "May God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life!(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:24 ============ 1Ki 2:24 Now therefore, as the Lord lives, who has established me and set me on the throne of David my father and who has made me a house as He promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today."(nas) 1Ki 2:24 καὶ νῦν ζῇ κύριος ὃς ἡτοίμασέν με καὶ ἔθετό με ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ αὐτὸς ἐποίησέν μοι οἶκον καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος ὅτι σήμερον θανατωθήσεται Αδωνιας (lxx) 1Ki 2:24 Et nunc vivit Dominus, qui firmavit me, et collocavit me super solium David patris mei, et qui fecit mihi domum, sicut locutus est, quia hodie occidetur Adonias.(vulgate) 24 ׃2 וְעַתָּ֗ה חַי־יְהוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֱכִינַ֗נִי *ויושיביני **וַיּֽוֹשִׁיבַ֙נִי֙ עַל־כִּסֵּא֙ דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֔י וַאֲשֶׁ֧ר עָֽשָׂה־לִ֛י בַּ֖יִת כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֵּ֑ר כִּ֣י הַיּ֔וֹם יוּמַ֖ת אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:24 Und nun, so wahr der HERR lebt, der mich bestätigt hat und sitzen lassen auf dem Stuhl meines Vaters David und der mir ein Haus gemacht hat, wie er geredet hat, heute soll Adonia sterben!(dhs) 1Ki 2:24 Now therefore, as the Lord lives, who has confirmed me and set me on the throne of David my father, and who has established a house for me, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today!"(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:25 ============ 1Ki 2:25 So King Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him so that he died.(nas) 1Ki 2:25 καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Σαλωμων ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν χειρὶ Βαναιου υἱοῦ Ιωδαε καὶ ἀνεῖλεν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέθανεν Αδωνιας ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ (lxx) 1Ki 2:25 Misitque rex Salomon per manum Banaiæ filii Jojadæ, qui interfecit eum, et mortuus est.(vulgate) 25 ׃2 וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה בְּיַ֖ד בְּנָיָ֣הוּ בֶן־יְהוֹיָדָ֑ע וַיִּפְגַּע־בּ֖וֹ וַיָּמֹֽת׃ ס Kings1 1Ki 2:25 Und der König Salomo sandte hin Benaja, den Sohn Jojadas; der schlug ihn, daß er starb.(dhs) 1Ki 2:25 So King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he struck him down, and he died.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:26 ============ 1Ki 2:26 Then to Abiathar the priest the king said, "Go to Anathoth to your own field, for you deserve to die; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted in everything with which my father was afflicted."(nas) 1Ki 2:26 καὶ τῷ Αβιαθαρ τῷ ἱερεῖ εἶπεν ὁ βασιλεύς ἀπότρεχε σὺ εἰς Αναθωθ εἰς ἀγρόν σου ὅτι ἀνὴρ θανάτου εἶ σὺ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ καὶ οὐ θανατώσω σε ὅτι ἦρας τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐνώπιον τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ ὅτι ἐκακουχήθης ἐν ἅπασιν οἷς ἐκακουχήθη ὁ πατήρ μου (lxx) 1Ki 2:26 Abiathar quoque sacerdoti dixit rex: Vade in Anathoth ad agrum tuum: equidem vir mortis es: sed hodie te non interficiam, quia portasti arcam Domini Dei coram David patre meo, et sustinuisti laborem in omnibus in quibus laboravit pater meus.(vulgate) 26 ׃2 וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֨ר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אָמַ֣ר הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ עֲנָתֹת֙ לֵ֣ךְ עַל־שָׂדֶ֔יךָ כִּ֛י אִ֥ישׁ מָ֖וֶת אָ֑תָּה וּבַיּ֨וֹם הַזֶּ֜ה לֹ֣א אֲמִיתֶ֗ךָ כִּֽי־נָשָׂ֜אתָ אֶת־אֲר֨וֹן אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהֹוִה֙ לִפְנֵי֙ דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֔י וְכִ֣י הִתְעַנִּ֔יתָ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶֽׁר־הִתְעַנָּ֖ה אָבִֽי׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:26 Und zu dem Priester Abjathar sprach der König: Gehe hin gen Anathoth zu deinem Acker; denn du bist des Todes. Aber ich will dich heute nicht töten; denn du hast die Lade des HERRN HERRN vor meinem Vater David getragen und hast mitgelitten, wo mein Vater gelitten hat.(dhs) 1Ki 2:26 And to Abiathar the priest the king said, "Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are deserving of death; but I will not put you to death at this time, because you carried the ark of the Lord God before my father David, and because you were afflicted every time my father was afflicted."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:27 ============ 1Ki 2:27 So Solomon dismissed Abiathar from being priest to the Lord, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord, which He had spoken concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.(nas) 1Ki 2:27 καὶ ἐξέβαλεν Σαλωμων τὸν Αβιαθαρ τοῦ μὴ εἶναι ἱερέα τοῦ κυρίου πληρωθῆναι τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ηλι ἐν Σηλωμ (lxx) 1Ki 2:27 Ejecit ergo Salomon Abiathar ut non esset sacerdos Domini, ut impleretur sermo Domini quem locutus est super domum Heli in Silo.~(vulgate) 27 ׃2 וַיְגָ֤רֶשׁ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ אֶת־אֶבְיָתָ֔ר מִהְי֥וֹת כֹּהֵ֖ן לַֽיהוָ֑ה לְמַלֵּא֙ אֶת־דְּבַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֛ר עַל־בֵּ֥ית עֵלִ֖י בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃ פ Kings1 1Ki 2:27 Also verstieß Salomo den Abjathar, daß er nicht durfte Priester des HERRN sein, auf daß erfüllet würde des HERRN Wort, das er über das Haus Elis geredet hatte zu Silo.(dhs) 1Ki 2:27 So Solomon removed Abiathar from being priest to the Lord, that he might fulfill the word of the Lord which He spoke concerning the house of Eli at Shiloh.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 2:28 ============ 1Ki 2:28 Now the news came to Joab, for Joab had followed Adonijah, although he had not followed Absalom. And Joab fled to the tent of the Lord and took hold of the horns of the altar.(nas) 1Ki 2:28 καὶ ἡ ἀκοὴ ἦλθεν ἕως Ιωαβ τοῦ υἱοῦ Σαρουιας ὅτι Ιωαβ ἦν κεκλικὼς ὀπίσω Αδωνιου καὶ ὀπίσω Σαλωμων οὐκ ἔκλινεν καὶ ἔφυγεν Ιωαβ εἰς τὸ σκήνωμα τοῦ κυρίου καὶ κατέσχεν τῶν κεράτων τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου (lxx) 1Ki 2:28 Venit autem nuntius ad Joab, quod Joab declinasset post Adoniam, et post Salomonem non declinasset: fugit ergo Joab in tabernaculum Domini, et apprehendit cornu altaris.(vulgate) 28 ׃2 וְהַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ בָּ֣אָה עַד־יוֹאָ֔ב כִּ֣י יוֹאָ֗ב נָטָה֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י אֲדֹנִיָּ֔ה וְאַחֲרֵ֥י אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם לֹ֣א נָטָ֑ה וַיָּ֤נָס יוֹאָב֙ אֶל־אֹ֣הֶל יְהוָ֔ה וֽ͏ַיַּחֲזֵ֖ק בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:28 Und dies Gerücht kam vor Joab; denn Joab hatte an Adonia gehangen, wiewohl nicht an Absalom. Da floh Joab in die Hütte des HERRN und faßte die Hörner des Altars.(dhs) 1Ki 2:28 Then news came to Joab, for Joab had defected to Adonijah, though he had not defected to Absalom. Thus the kingdom was established in the hands of Solomon.(nas) 1Ki 2:46 καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων τῷ Βαναια υἱῷ Ιωδαε καὶ ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀνεῖλεν αὐτόν καὶ ἀπέθανεν (lxx) 1Ki 2:46 Jussit itaque rex Banaiæ filio Jojadæ, qui egressus, percussit eum, et mortuus est.(vulgate) 46 ׃2 וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אֶת־בְּנָיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן־יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע וַיֵּצֵ֕א וַיִּפְגַּע־בּ֖וֹ וַיָּמֹ֑ת וְהַמַּמְלָכָ֥ה נָכ֖וֹנָה בְּיַד־שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ Kings1 1Ki 2:46 Und der König gebot Benaja, dem Sohn Jojadas; der ging hinaus und schlug ihn, daß er starb. Und das Königreich ward bestätigt durch Salomos Hand.(dhs) 1Ki 2:46 So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out and struck him down, and he died.
