Today's Date: ======= 1 Kings 5:1 ============ 1Ki 5:1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, when he heard that they had anointed him king in place of his father, for Hiram had always been a friend of David.(nas) 1Ki 5:1 καὶ ἐχορήγουν οἱ καθεσταμένοι οὕτως τῷ βασιλεῖ Σαλωμων καὶ πάντα τὰ διαγγέλματα ἐπὶ τὴν τράπεζαν τοῦ βασιλέως ἕκαστος μῆνα αὐτοῦ οὐ παραλλάσσουσιν λόγον καὶ τὰς κριθὰς καὶ τὸ ἄχυρον τοῖς ἵπποις καὶ τοῖς ἅρμασιν ᾖρον εἰς τὸν τόπον οὗ ἂν ᾖ ὁ βασιλεύς ἕκαστος κατὰ τὴν σύνταξιν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 5:1 Misit quoque Hiram rex Tyri servos suos ad Salomonem: audivit enim quod ipsum unxissent regem pro patre ejus: quia amicus fuerat Hiram David omni tempore.(vulgate) 15 ׃5 וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח חִירָ֨ם מֶֽלֶךְ־צ֤וֹר אֶת־עֲבָדָיו֙ אֶל־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה כִּ֣י שָׁמַ֔ע כִּ֥י אֹת֛וֹ מָשְׁח֥וּ לְמֶ֖לֶךְ תַּ֣חַת אָבִ֑יהוּ כִּ֣י אֹהֵ֗ב הָיָ֥ה חִירָ֛ם לְדָוִ֖ד כָּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃ ס Kings1 1Ki 5:1 Und Hiram, der König zu Tyrus, sandte seine Knechte zu Salomo; denn er hatte gehört, daß sie ihn zum König gesalbt hatten an seines Vaters Statt. Denn Hiram liebte David sein Leben lang.(dhs) 1Ki 5:1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, because he heard that they had anointed him king in place of his father, for Hiram had always loved David.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:2 ============ 1Ki 5:2 Then Solomon sent word to Hiram, saying,(nas) 1Ki 5:2 καὶ ταῦτα τὰ δέοντα τῷ Σαλωμων ἐν ἡμέρᾳ μιᾷ τριάκοντα κόροι σεμιδάλεως καὶ ἑξήκοντα κόροι ἀλεύρου κεκοπανισμένου (lxx) 1Ki 5:2 Misit autem Salomon ad Hiram, dicens:(vulgate) 16 ׃5 וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֶל־חִירָ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:2 Und Salomo sandte zu Hiram und ließ ihm sagen:(dhs) 1Ki 5:2 Then Solomon sent to Hiram, saying:(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:3 ============ 1Ki 5:3 "You know that David my father was unable to build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which surrounded him, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.(nas) 1Ki 5:3 καὶ δέκα μόσχοι ἐκλεκτοὶ καὶ εἴκοσι βόες νομάδες καὶ ἑκατὸν πρόβατα ἐκτὸς ἐλάφων καὶ δορκάδων καὶ ὀρνίθων ἐκλεκτῶν σιτευτά (lxx) 1Ki 5:3 Tu scis voluntatem David patris mei, et quia non potuerit ædificare domum nomini Domini Dei sui propter bella imminentia per circuitum, donec daret Dominus eos sub vestigio pedum ejus.(vulgate) 17 ׃5 אַתָּ֨ה יָדַ֜עְתָּ אֶת־דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֗י כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָכֹל֙ לִבְנ֣וֹת בַּ֗יִת לְשֵׁם֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔יו מִפְּנֵ֥י הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר סְבָבֻ֑הוּ עַ֤ד תֵּת־יְהוָה֙ אֹתָ֔ם תַּ֖חַת כַּפּ֥וֹת *רגלו **רַגְלָֽי׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:3 Du weißt, daß mein Vater David nicht konnte bauen ein Haus dem Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, um des Krieges willen, der um ihn her war, bis sie der HERR unter seiner Füße Sohlen gab.(dhs) 1Ki 5:3 You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the Lord put his foes under the soles of his feet.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:4 ============ 1Ki 5:4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor misfortune.(nas) 1Ki 5:4 ὅτι ἦν ἄρχων πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ἦν αὐτῷ εἰρήνη ἐκ πάντων τῶν μερῶν κυκλόθεν 1Ki 5:4 Nunc autem requiem dedit Dominus Deus meus mihi per circuitum, et non est satan, neque occursus malus.(vulgate) 18 ׃5 וְעַתָּ֕ה הֵנִ֨יחַ יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהַ֛י לִ֖י מִסָּבִ֑יב אֵ֣ין שָׂטָ֔ן וְאֵ֖ין פֶּ֥גַע רָֽע׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:4 Nun aber hat mir der HERR, mein Gott, Ruhe gegeben umher, daß kein Widersacher noch böses Hindernis mehr ist.(dhs) 1Ki 5:4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:5 ============ 1Ki 5:5 Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord spoke to David my father, saying, 'Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he will build the house for My name.'(nas) 1Ki 5:5 Lxx differs (lxx) 1Ki 5:5 Quam ob rem cogito ædificare templum nomini Domini Dei mei, sicut locutus est Dominus David patri meo, dicens: Filius tuus, quem dabo pro te super solium tuum, ipse ædificabit domum nomini meo.(vulgate) 19 ׃5 וְהִנְנִ֣י אֹמֵ֔ר לִבְנ֣וֹת בַּ֔יִת לְשֵׁ֖ם יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑י כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אֶל־דָּוִ֤ד אָבִי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר בִּנְךָ֗ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֶתֵּ֤ן תַּחְתֶּ֙יךָ֙ עַל־כִּסְאֶ֔ךָ הֽוּא־יִבְנֶ֥ה הַבַּ֖יִת לִשְׁמִֽי׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:5 Siehe, so habe ich gedacht, ein Haus zu bauen dem Namen des HERRN, meines Gottes, wie der HERR geredet hat zu meinem Vater David und gesagt: Dein Sohn, den ich an deine Statt setzen werde auf deinen Stuhl, der soll meinem Namen das Haus bauen.(dhs) 1Ki 5:5 And behold, I propose to build a house for the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord spoke to my father David, saying, "Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build the house for My name."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:6 ============ 1Ki 5:6 Now therefore, command that they cut for me cedars from Lebanon, and my servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say, for you know that there is no one among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians."(nas) 1Ki 5:6 Lxx differs (lxx) 1Ki 5:6 Præcipe igitur ut præcidant mihi servi tui cedros de Libano, et servi mei sint cum servis tuis: mercedem autem servorum tuorum dabo tibi quamcumque petieris: scis enim quomodo non est in populo meo vir qui noverit ligna cædere sicut Sidonii.(vulgate) 20 ׃5 וְעַתָּ֡ה צַוֵּה֩ וְיִכְרְתוּ־לִ֨י אֲרָזִ֜ים מִן־הַלְּבָנ֗וֹן וַֽעֲבָדַי֙ יִהְי֣וּ עִם־עֲבָדֶ֔יךָ וּשְׂכַ֤ר עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶתֵּ֣ן לְךָ֔ כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר תֹּאמֵ֑ר כִּ֣י ׀ אַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֗עְתָּ כִּ֣י אֵ֥ין בָּ֛נוּ אִ֛ישׁ יֹדֵ֥עַ לִכְרָת־עֵצִ֖ים כַּצִּדֹנִֽים׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:6 So befiehl nun, daß man mir Zedern aus dem Libanon haue, und daß deine Knechte mit meinen Knechten seien. Und den Lohn deiner Knechte will ich dir geben, alles, wie du sagst. Denn du weißt, daß bei uns niemand ist, der Holz zu hauen wisse wie die Sidonier.(dhs) 1Ki 5:6 Now therefore, command that they cut down cedars for me from Lebanon; and my servants will be with your servants, and I will pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who has skill to cut timber like the Sidonians.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:7 ============ 1Ki 5:7 When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly and said, "Blessed be the Lord today, who has given to David a wise son over this great people."(nas) 1Ki 5:7 Lxx differs (lxx) 1Ki 5:7 Cum ergo audisset Hiram verba Salomonis, lætatus est valde, et ait: Benedictus Dominus Deus hodie, qui dedit David filium sapientissimum super populum hunc plurimum.(vulgate) 21 ׃5 וַיְהִ֞י כִּשְׁמֹ֧עַ חִירָ֛ם אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה וַיִּשְׂמַ֣ח מְאֹ֑ד וַיֹּ֗אמֶר בָּר֤וּךְ יְהוָה֙ הַיּ֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֤ן לְדָוִד֙ בֵּ֣ן חָכָ֔ם עַל־הָעָ֥ם הָרָ֖ב הַזֶּֽה׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:7 Da Hiram aber hörte die Worte Salomos, freute er sich hoch und sprach: Gelobt sei der HERR heute, der David einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat über dies große Volk.(dhs) 1Ki 5:7 So it was, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Blessed be the Lord this day, for He has given David a wise son over this great people!(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:8 ============ 1Ki 5:8 So Hiram sent word to Solomon, saying, "I have heard the message which you have sent me; I will do what you desire concerning the cedar and cypress timber.(nas) 1Ki 5:8 Lxx differs (lxx) 1Ki 5:8 Et misit Hiram ad Salomonem, dicens: Audivi quæcumque mandasti mihi: ego faciam omnem voluntatem tuam in lignis cedrinis et abiegnis.(vulgate) 22 ׃5 וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח חִירָם֙ אֶל־שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה לֵאמֹ֔ר שָׁמַ֕עְתִּי אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֖חְתָּ אֵלָ֑י אֲנִ֤י אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ אֶת־כָּ֨ל־חֶפְצְךָ֔ בַּעֲצֵ֥י אֲרָזִ֖ים וּבַעֲצֵ֥י בְרוֹשִֽׁים׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:8 Und Hiram sandte zu Salomo und ließ ihm sagen: Ich habe gehört, was du zu mir gesandt hast. Ich will tun nach allem deinem Begehr mit Zedern-und Tannenholz(dhs) 1Ki 5:8 Then Hiram sent to Solomon, saying: I have considered the message which you sent me, and I will do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:9 ============ 1Ki 5:9 My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea; and I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place where you direct me, and I will have them broken up there, and you shall carry them away. Then you shall accomplish my desire by giving food to my household."(nas) 1Ki 5:9 καὶ ἔδωκεν κύριος φρόνησιν τῷ Σαλωμων καὶ σοφίαν πολλὴν σφόδρα καὶ χύμα καρδίας ὡς ἡ ἄμμος ἡ παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν (lxx) 1Ki 5:9 Servi mei deponent ea de Libano ad mare, et ego componam ea in ratibus in mari usque ad locum quem significaveris mihi: et applicabo ea ibi, et tu tolles ea: præbebisque necessaria mihi, ut detur cibus domui meæ.(vulgate) 23 ׃5 עֲ֠בָדַי יֹרִ֨דוּ מִן־הַלְּבָנ֜וֹן יָ֗מָּה וַ֠אֲנִי אֲשִׂימֵ֨ם דֹּבְר֤וֹת בַּיָּם֙ עַֽד־הַמָּק֞וֹם אֲשֶׁר־תִּשְׁלַ֥ח אֵלַ֛י וְנִפַּצְתִּ֥ים שָׁ֖ם וְאַתָּ֣ה תִשָּׂ֑א וְאַתָּה֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֶת־חֶפְצִ֔י לָתֵ֖ת לֶ֥חֶם בֵּיתִֽי׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:9 Meine Knechte sollen die Stämme vom Libanon hinabbringen ans Meer, und will sie in Flöße legen lassen auf dem Meer bis an den Ort, den du mir wirst ansagen lassen, und will sie daselbst abbinden, und du sollst's holen lassen. Aber du sollst auch mein Begehr tun und Speise geben meinem Gesinde.(dhs) 1Ki 5:9 My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea; I will float them in rafts by sea to the place you indicate to me, and will have them broken apart there; then you can take them away. And you shall fulfill my desire by giving food for my household.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:10 ============ 1Ki 5:10 So Hiram gave Solomon as much as he desired of the cedar and cypress timber.(nas) 1Ki 5:10 καὶ ἐπληθύνθη Σαλωμων σφόδρα ὑπὲρ τὴν φρόνησιν πάντων ἀρχαίων ἀνθρώπων καὶ ὑπὲρ πάντας φρονίμους Αἰγύπτου 1Ki 5:10 Itaque Hiram dabat Salomoni ligna cedrina, et ligna abiegna, juxta omnem voluntatem ejus.(vulgate) 24 ׃5 וַיְהִ֨י חִיר֜וֹם נֹתֵ֣ן לִשְׁלֹמֹ֗ה עֲצֵ֧י אֲרָזִ֛ים וַעֲצֵ֥י בְרוֹשִׁ֖ים כָּל־חֶפְצֽוֹ׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:10 Also gab Hiram Salomo Zedern-und Tannenholz nach allem seinem Begehr.(dhs) 1Ki 5:10 Then Hiram gave Solomon cedar and cypress logs according to all his desire.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:11 ============ 1Ki 5:11 Solomon then gave Hiram 20,000 kors of wheat as food for his household, and twenty kors of beaten oil; thus Solomon would give Hiram year by year.(nas) 1Ki 5:11 καὶ ἐσοφίσατο ὑπὲρ πάντας τοὺς ἀνθρώπους καὶ ἐσοφίσατο ὑπὲρ Γαιθαν τὸν Εζραΐτην καὶ τὸν Αιμαν καὶ τὸν Χαλκαλ καὶ Δαρδα υἱοὺς Μαλ (lxx) 1Ki 5:11 Salomon autem præbebat Hiram coros tritici viginti millia in cibum domui ejus, et viginti coros purissimi olei: hæc tribuebat Salomon Hiram per singulos annos.(vulgate) 25 ׃5 וּשְׁלֹמֹה֩ נָתַ֨ן לְחִירָ֜ם עֶשְׂרִים֩ אֶ֨לֶף כֹּ֤ר חִטִּים֙ מַכֹּ֣לֶת לְבֵית֔וֹ וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים כֹּ֖ר שֶׁ֣מֶן כָּתִ֑ית כֹּֽה־יִתֵּ֧ן שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה לְחִירָ֖ם שָׁנָ֥ה בְשָׁנָֽה׃ פ Kings1 1Ki 5:11 Salomo aber gab Hiram zwanzigtausend Kor Weizen, zu essen für sein Gesinde, und zwanzig Kor gestoßenen Öls. Solches gab Salomo jährlich dem Hiram.(dhs) 1Ki 5:11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand kors of wheat as food for his household, and twenty kors of pressed oil. Thus Solomon gave to Hiram year by year.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:12 ============ 1Ki 5:12 The Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, just as He promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a covenant.(nas) 1Ki 5:12 καὶ ἐλάλησεν Σαλωμων τρισχιλίας παραβολάς καὶ ἦσαν ᾠδαὶ αὐτοῦ πεντακισχίλιαι 1Ki 5:12 Dedit quoque Dominus sapientiam Salomoni, sicut locutus est ei: et erat pax inter Hiram et Salomonem, et percusserunt ambo fœdus.~(vulgate) 26 ׃5 וַיהוָ֗ה נָתַ֤ן חָכְמָה֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּר־ל֑וֹ וַיְהִ֣י שָׁלֹ֗ם בֵּ֤ין חִירָם֙ וּבֵ֣ין שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַיִּכְרְת֥וּ בְרִ֖ית שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:12 Und der HERR gab Salomo Weisheit, wie er ihm geredet hatte. Und es war Friede zwischen Hiram und Salomo, und sie machten beide einen Bund miteinander.(dhs) 1Ki 5:12 So the Lord gave Solomon wisdom, as He had promised him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:13 ============ 1Ki 5:13 Now King Solomon levied forced laborers from all Israel; and the forced laborers numbered 30,000 men.(nas) 1Ki 5:13 καὶ ἐλάλησεν περὶ τῶν ξύλων ἀπὸ τῆς κέδρου τῆς ἐν τῷ Λιβάνῳ καὶ ἕως τῆς ὑσσώπου τῆς ἐκπορευομένης διὰ τοῦ τοίχου καὶ ἐλάλησεν περὶ τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ περὶ τῶν πετεινῶν καὶ περὶ τῶν ἑρπετῶν καὶ περὶ τῶν ἰχθύων (lxx) 1Ki 5:13 Elegitque rex Salomon operarios de omni Israël, et erat indictio triginta millia virorum.(vulgate) 27 ׃5 וַיַּ֨עַל הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה מַ֖ס מִכָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיְהִ֣י הַמַּ֔ס שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף אִֽישׁ׃ Kings1 1Ki 5:13 Und Salomo hob Fronarbeiter aus von ganz Israel, und ihre Zahl war dreißigtausend Mann,(dhs) 1Ki 5:13 Then King Solomon raised up a labor force out of all Israel; and the labor force was thirty thousand men.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 5:14 ============ 1Ki 5:14 He sent them to Lebanon, 10,000 a month in relays; they were in Lebanon a month and two months at home. And Adoniram was over the forced laborers.(nas) 1Ki 5:14 καὶ παρεγίνοντο πάντες οἱ λαοὶ ἀκοῦσαι τῆς σοφίας Σαλωμων καὶ ἐλάμβανεν δῶρα παρὰ πάντων τῶν βασιλέων τῆς γῆς ὅσοι ἤκουον τῆς σοφίας αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 5:14 Mittebatque eos in Libanum, decem millia per menses singulos vicissim, ita ut duobus mensibus essent in domibus suis: et Adoniram erat super hujuscemodi indictione.(vulgate) 28 ׃5 וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֣ם לְבָנ֗וֹנָה עֲשֶׂ֨רֶת אֲלָפִ֤ים בַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ חֲלִיפ֔וֹת חֹ֚דֶשׁ יִהְי֣וּ בַלְּבָנ֔וֹן שְׁנַ֥יִם חֳדָשִׁ֖ים בְּבֵית֑וֹ וַאֲדֹנִירָ֖ם עַל־הַמַּֽס׃ ס Kings1 1Ki 5:14 und sandte sie auf den Libanon, je einen Monat zehntausend, daß sie einen Monat auf dem Libanon waren und zwei Monate daheim.
