Today's Date: ======= 1 Kings 6:1 ============ 1Ki 6:1 Now it came about in the four hundred and eightieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.(nas) 1Ki 6:1 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ τεσσαρακοστῷ καὶ τετρακοσιοστῷ ἔτει τῆς ἐξόδου υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου τῷ ἔτει τῷ τετάρτῳ ἐν μηνὶ τῷ δευτέρῳ βασιλεύοντος τοῦ βασιλέως Σαλωμων ἐπὶ Ισραηλ 1Ki 6:1 Factum est ergo quadringentesimo et octogesimo anno egressionis filiorum Israël de terra Ægypti, in anno quarto, mense Zio (ipse est mensis secundus), regni Salomonis super Israël, ædificari cœpit domus Domino.(vulgate) 1 ׃6 וַיְהִ֣י בִשְׁמוֹנִ֣ים שָׁנָ֣ה וְאַרְבַּ֣ע מֵא֣וֹת שָׁנָ֡ה לְצֵ֣את בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל מֵאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם֩ בַּשָּׁנָ֨ה הָרְבִיעִ֜ית בְּחֹ֣דֶשׁ זִ֗ו ה֚וּא הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֔י לִמְלֹ֥ךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּ֥בֶן הַבַּ֖יִת לַיהוָֽה׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:1 Im vierhundertachtzigsten Jahr nach dem Ausgang der Kinder Israel aus Ägyptenland, im vierten Jahr des Königreichs Salomo über Israel, im Monat Siv, das ist der zweite Monat, ward das Haus des HERRN gebaut.(dhs) 1Ki 6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:2 ============ 1Ki 6:2 As for the house which King Solomon built for the Lord, its length was sixty cubits and its width twenty cubits and its height thirty cubits.(nas) 1Ki 6:2 καὶ ὁ οἶκος ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων τῷ κυρίῳ τεσσαράκοντα πήχεων μῆκος αὐτοῦ καὶ εἴκοσι ἐν πήχει πλάτος αὐτοῦ καὶ πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι ἐν πήχει τὸ ὕψος αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Ki 6:2 Domus autem quam ædificabat rex Salomon Domino, habebat sexaginta cubitos in longitudine, et viginti cubitos in latitudine, et triginta cubitos in altitudine.(vulgate) 2 ׃6 וְהַבַּ֗יִת אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּנָ֜ה הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה שִׁשִּֽׁים־אַמָּ֥ה אָרְכּ֖וֹ וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים רָחְבּ֑וֹ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אַמָּ֖ה קוֹמָתֽוֹ׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:2 Das Haus aber, das der König Salomo dem HERRN baute, war sechzig Ellen lang, zwanzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch.(dhs) 1Ki 6:2 Now the house which King Solomon built for the Lord, its length was sixty cubits, its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:3 ============ 1Ki 6:3 The porch in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits in length, corresponding to the width of the house, and its depth along the front of the house was ten cubits.(nas) 1Ki 6:3 καὶ τὸ αιλαμ κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ ναοῦ εἴκοσι ἐν πήχει μῆκος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πλάτος τοῦ οἴκου καὶ δέκα ἐν πήχει τὸ πλάτος αὐτοῦ κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὸν οἶκον καὶ συνετέλεσεν αὐτόν (lxx) 1Ki 6:3 Et porticus erat ante templum viginti cubitorum longitudinis, juxta mensuram latitudinis templi: et habebat decem cubitos latitudinis ante faciem templi.(vulgate) 3 ׃6 וְהָאוּלָ֗ם עַל־פְּנֵי֙ הֵיכַ֣ל הַבַּ֔יִת עֶשְׂרִ֤ים אַמָּה֙ אָרְכּ֔וֹ עַל־פְּנֵ֖י רֹ֣חַב הַבָּ֑יִת עֶ֧שֶׂר בָּאַמָּ֛ה רָחְבּ֖וֹ עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַבָּֽיִת׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:3 Und er baute eine Halle vor dem Tempel, zwanzig Ellen lang nach der Breite des Hauses und zehn Ellen breit vor dem Hause her.(dhs) 1Ki 6:3 The vestibule in front of the sanctuary of the house was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and the width of the vestibule extended ten cubits from the front of the house.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:4 ============ 1Ki 6:4 Also for the house he made windows with artistic frames.(nas) 1Ki 6:4 καὶ ἐποίησεν τῷ οἴκῳ θυρίδας παρακυπτομένας κρυπτάς (lxx) 1Ki 6:4 Fecitque in templo fenestras obliquas.(vulgate) 4 ׃6 וַיַּ֣עַשׂ לַבָּ֔יִת חַלּוֹנֵ֖י שְׁקֻפִ֥ים אֲטֻמִֽים׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:4 Und er machte an das Haus Fenster mit festen Stäben davor.(dhs) 1Ki 6:4 And he made for the house windows with beveled frames.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:5 ============ 1Ki 6:5 Against the wall of the house he built stories encompassing the walls of the house around both the nave and the inner sanctuary; thus he made side chambers all around.(nas) 1Ki 6:5 καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐπὶ τὸν τοῖχον τοῦ οἴκου μέλαθρα κυκλόθεν τῷ ναῷ καὶ τῷ δαβιρ καὶ ἐποίησεν πλευρὰς κυκλόθεν (lxx) 1Ki 6:5 Et ædificavit super parietem templi tabulata per gyrum, in parietibus domus per circuitum templi et oraculi, et fecit latera in circuitu.(vulgate) 5 ׃6 וַיִּבֶן֩ עַל־קִ֨יר הַבַּ֤יִת *יצוע **יָצִ֙יעַ֙ סָבִ֔יב אֶת־קִיר֤וֹת הַבַּ֙יִת֙ סָבִ֔יב לַֽהֵיכָ֖ל וְלַדְּבִ֑יר וַיַּ֥עַשׂ צְלָע֖וֹת סָבִֽיב׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:5 Und er baute einen Umgang an der Wand des Hauses ringsumher, daß er um den Tempel und um den Chor her ging, und machte Seitengemächer umher.(dhs) 1Ki 6:5 Against the wall of the temple he built chambers all around, against the walls of the temple, all around the sanctuary and the inner sanctuary. Thus he made side chambers all around it.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:6 ============ 1Ki 6:6 The lowest story was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around in order that the beams would not be inserted in the walls of the house.(nas) 1Ki 6:6 ἡ πλευρὰ ἡ ὑποκάτω πέντε πήχεων τὸ πλάτος αὐτῆς καὶ τὸ μέσον ἕξ καὶ ἡ τρίτη ἑπτὰ ἐν πήχει τὸ πλάτος αὐτῆς ὅτι διάστημα ἔδωκεν τῷ οἴκῳ κυκλόθεν ἔξωθεν τοῦ οἴκου ὅπως μὴ ἐπιλαμβάνωνται τῶν τοίχων τοῦ οἴκου (lxx) 1Ki 6:6 Tabulatum quod subter erat, quinque cubitos habebat latitudinis, et medium tabulatum sex cubitorum latitudinis, et tertium tabulatum septem habens cubitos latitudinis. Trabes autem posuit in domo per circuitum forinsecus, ut non hærerent muris templi.(vulgate) 6 ׃6 *היצוע **הַיָּצִ֨יעַ הַתַּחְתֹּנָ֜ה חָמֵ֧שׁ בָּאַמָּ֣ה רָחְבָּ֗הּ וְהַתִּֽיכֹנָה֙ שֵׁ֤שׁ בָּֽאַמָּה֙ רָחְבָּ֔הּ וְהַ֨שְּׁלִישִׁ֔ית שֶׁ֥בַע בָּאַמָּ֖ה רָחְבָּ֑הּ כִּ֡י מִגְרָעוֹת֩ נָתַ֨ן לַבַּ֤יִת סָבִיב֙ ח֔וּצָה לְבִלְתִּ֖י אֲחֹ֥ז בְּקִֽירוֹת־הַבָּֽיִת׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:6 Der unterste Gang war fünf Ellen weit und der mittelste sechs Ellen weit und der dritte sieben Ellen weit; denn er machte Absätze außen am Hause umher, daß die Balken nicht in die Wände des Hauses eingriffen.(dhs) 1Ki 6:6 The lowest chamber was five cubits wide, the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for he made narrow ledges around the outside of the temple, so that the support beams would not be fastened into the walls of the temple.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:7 ============ 1Ki 6:7 The house, while it was being built, was built of stone prepared at the quarry, and there was neither hammer nor axe nor any iron tool heard in the house while it was being built.(nas) 1Ki 6:7 καὶ ὁ οἶκος ἐν τῷ οἰκοδομεῖσθαι αὐτὸν λίθοις ἀκροτόμοις ἀργοῖς ᾠκοδομήθη καὶ σφῦρα καὶ πέλεκυς καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος σιδηροῦν οὐκ ἠκούσθη ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ ἐν τῷ οἰκοδομεῖσθαι αὐτόν (lxx) 1Ki 6:7 Domus autem cum ædificaretur, de lapidibus dolatis atque perfectis ædificata est: et malleus, et securis, et omne ferramentum non sunt audita in domo cum ædificaretur.(vulgate) 7 ׃6 וְהַבַּ֙יִת֙ בְּהִבָּ֣נֹת֔וֹ אֶֽבֶן־שְׁלֵמָ֥ה מַסָּ֖ע נִבְנָ֑ה וּמַקָּב֤וֹת וְהַגַּרְזֶן֙ כָּל־כְּלִ֣י בַרְזֶ֔ל לֹֽא־נִשְׁמַ֥ע בַּבַּ֖יִת בְּהִבָּנֹתֽוֹ׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:7 Und da das Haus gesetzt ward, waren die Steine zuvor ganz zugerichtet, daß man kein Hammer noch Beil noch irgend ein eisernes Werkzeug im Bauen hörte.(dhs) 1Ki 6:7 And the temple, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:8 ============ 1Ki 6:8 The doorway for the lowest side chamber was on the right side of the house; and they would go up by winding stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third.(nas) 1Ki 6:8 καὶ ὁ πυλὼν τῆς πλευρᾶς τῆς ὑποκάτωθεν ὑπὸ τὴν ὠμίαν τοῦ οἴκου τὴν δεξιάν καὶ ἑλικτὴ ἀνάβασις εἰς τὸ μέσον καὶ ἐκ τῆς μέσης ἐπὶ τὰ τριώροφα (lxx) 1Ki 6:8 Ostium lateris medii in parte erat domus dextræ: et per cochleam ascendebant in medium cœnaculum, et a medio in tertium.(vulgate) 8 ׃6 פֶּ֗תַח הַצֵּלָע֙ הַתִּ֣יכֹנָ֔ה אֶל־כֶּ֥תֶף הַבַּ֖יִת הַיְמָנִ֑ית וּבְלוּלִּ֗ים יַֽעֲלוּ֙ עַל־הַתִּ֣יכֹנָ֔ה וּמִן־הַתִּֽיכֹנָ֖ה אֶל־הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁים׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:8 Eine Tür aber war zur rechten Seite mitten im Hause, daß man durch eine Wendeltreppe hinaufging auf den Mittelgang und vom Mittelgang auf den dritten.(dhs) 1Ki 6:8 The doorway for the middle story was on the right side of the temple. They went up by stairs to the middle story, and from the middle to the third.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:9 ============ 1Ki 6:9 So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.(nas) 1Ki 6:9 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὸν οἶκον καὶ συνετέλεσεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐκοιλοστάθμησεν τὸν οἶκον κέδροις (lxx) 1Ki 6:9 Et ædificavit domum, et consummavit eam: texit quoque domum laquearibus cedrinis.(vulgate) 9 ׃6 וַיִּ֥בֶן אֶת־הַבַּ֖יִת וַיְכַלֵּ֑הוּ וַיִּסְפֹּ֤ן אֶת־הַבַּ֙יִת֙ גֵּבִ֔ים וּשְׂדֵרֹ֖ת בָּאֲרָזִֽים׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:9 Also baute er das Haus und vollendete es; und er deckte das Haus mit Balken und Tafelwerk von Zedern.(dhs) 1Ki 6:9 So he built the temple and finished it, and he paneled the temple with beams and boards of cedar.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:10 ============ 1Ki 6:10 He also built the stories against the whole house, each five cubits high; and they were fastened to the house with timbers of cedar.(nas) 1Ki 6:10 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τοὺς ἐνδέσμους δι᾽ ὅλου τοῦ οἴκου πέντε ἐν πήχει τὸ ὕψος αὐτοῦ καὶ συνέσχεν τὸν ἔνδεσμον ἐν ξύλοις κεδρίνοις (lxx) 1Ki 6:10 Et ædificavit tabulatum super omnem domum quinque cubitis altitudinis, et operuit domum lignis cedrinis.(vulgate) 10 ׃6 וַיִּ֤בֶן אֶת־*היצוע **הַיָּצִ֙יעַ֙ עַל־כָּל־הַבַּ֔יִת חָמֵ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת קֽוֹמָת֑וֹ וַיֶּאֱחֹ֥ז אֶת־הַבַּ֖יִת בַּעֲצֵ֥י אֲרָזִֽים׃ פ Kings1 1Ki 6:10 Und er baute die Gänge um das ganze Haus herum, je fünf Ellen hoch, und verband sie mit dem Hause durch Balken von Zedernholz.(dhs) 1Ki 6:10 And he built side chambers against the entire temple, each five cubits high; they were attached to the temple with cedar beams.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:11 ============ 1Ki 6:11 Now the word of the Lord came to Solomon saying,(nas) 1Ki 6:11 LXX differs (lxx) 1Ki 6:11 Et factus est sermo Domini ad Salomonem, dicens:(vulgate) 11 ׃6 וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־יְהוָ֔ה אֶל־שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:11 Und es geschah des HERRN Wort zu Salomo und sprach:(dhs) 1Ki 6:11 Then the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying:(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:12 ============ 1Ki 6:12 "Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will carry out My word with you which I spoke to David your father.(nas) 1Ki 6:12 LXX differs (lxx) 1Ki 6:12 Domus hæc, quam ædificas, si ambulaveris in præceptis meis, et judicia mea feceris, et custodieris omnia mandata mea, gradiens per ea, firmabo sermonem meum tibi, quem locutus sum ad David patrem tuum:(vulgate) 12 ׃6 הַבַּ֨יִת הַזֶּ֜ה אֲשֶׁר־אַתָּ֣ה בֹנֶ֗ה אִם־תֵּלֵ֤ךְ בְּחֻקֹּתַי֙ וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַ֣י תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֥ אֶת־כָּל־מִצְוֺתַ֖י לָלֶ֣כֶת בָּהֶ֑ם וַהֲקִמֹתִ֤י אֶת־דְּבָרִי֙ אִתָּ֔ךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי אֶל־דָּוִ֥ד אָבִֽיךָ׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:12 Also sei es mit dem Hause, das du baust: Wirst du in meinen Geboten wandeln und nach meinen Rechten tun und alle meine Gebote halten, darin zu wandeln, so will ich mein Wort mit dir bestätigen, wie ich deinem Vater David geredet habe,(dhs) 1Ki 6:12 "Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:13 ============ 1Ki 6:13 I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel."(nas) 1Ki 6:13 LXX differs (lxx) 1Ki 6:13 et habitabo in medio filiorum Israël, et non derelinquam populum meum Israël.~(vulgate) 13 ׃6 וְשָׁ֣כַנְתִּ֔י בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹ֥א אֶעֱזֹ֖ב אֶת־עַמִּ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס Kings1 1Ki 6:13 und will wohnen unter den Kindern Israel und will mein Volk Israel nicht verlassen.(dhs) 1Ki 6:13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel."(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:14 ============ 1Ki 6:14 So Solomon built the house and finished it.(nas) 1Ki 6:14 LXX differs (lxx) 1Ki 6:14 Igitur ædificavit Salomon domum, et consummavit eam.(vulgate) 14 ׃6 וַיִּ֧בֶן שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה אֶת־הַבַּ֖יִת וַיְכַלֵּֽהוּ׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:14 Und Salomo baute das Haus und vollendete es.(dhs) 1Ki 6:14 So Solomon built the temple and finished it.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:15 ============ 1Ki 6:15 Then he built the walls of the house on the inside with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the ceiling he overlaid the walls on the inside with wood, and he overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.(nas) 1Ki 6:15 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τοὺς τοίχους τοῦ οἴκου διὰ ξύλων κεδρίνων ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐδάφους τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἕως τῶν δοκῶν καὶ ἕως τῶν τοίχων ἐκοιλοστάθμησεν συνεχόμενα ξύλοις ἔσωθεν καὶ περιέσχεν τὸ ἔσω τοῦ οἴκου ἐν πλευραῖς πευκίναις (lxx) 1Ki 6:15 Et ædificavit parietes domus intrinsecus tabulatis cedrinis: a pavimento domus usque ad summitatem parietum, et usque ad laquearia, operuit lignis cedrinis intrinsecus: et texit pavimentum domus tabulis abiegnis.(vulgate) 15 ׃6 וַיִּבֶן֩ אֶת־קִיר֨וֹת הַבַּ֤יִת מִבַּ֙יְתָה֙ בְּצַלְע֣וֹת אֲרָזִ֔ים מִקַּרְקַ֤ע הַבַּ֙יִת֙ עַד־קִיר֣וֹת הַסִּפֻּ֔ן צִפָּ֥ה עֵ֖ץ מִבָּ֑יִת וַיְצַ֛ף אֶת־קַרְקַ֥ע הַבַּ֖יִת בְּצַלְע֥וֹת בְּרוֹשִֽׁים׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:15 Er baute die Wände des Hauses inwendig mit Brettern von Zedern; von des Hauses Boden bis an die Decke täfelte er es mit Holz inwendig, und den Boden des Hauses täfelte er mit Tannenbrettern.(dhs) 1Ki 6:15 And he built the inside walls of the temple with cedar boards; from the floor of the temple to the ceiling he paneled the inside with wood; and he covered the floor of the temple with planks of cypress.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:16 ============ 1Ki 6:16 He built twenty cubits on the rear part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling; he built them for it on the inside as an inner sanctuary, even as the most holy place.(nas) 1Ki 6:16 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τοὺς εἴκοσι πήχεις ἀπ᾽ ἄκρου τοῦ οἴκου τὸ πλευρὸν τὸ ἓν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἐδάφους ἕως τῶν δοκῶν καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐκ τοῦ δαβιρ εἰς τὸ ἅγιον τῶν ἁγίων (lxx) 1Ki 6:16 Ædificavitque viginti cubitorum ad posteriorem partem templi tabulata cedrina, a pavimento usque ad superiora: et fecit interiorem domum oraculi in Sanctum sanctorum.(vulgate) 16 ׃6 וַיִּבֶן֩ אֶת־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים אַמָּ֜ה *מירכותי **מִֽיַּרְכְּתֵ֤י הַבַּ֙יִת֙ בְּצַלְע֣וֹת אֲרָזִ֔ים מִן־הַקַּרְקַ֖ע עַד־הַקִּיר֑וֹת וַיִּ֤בֶן לוֹ֙ מִבַּ֣יִת לִדְבִ֔יר לְקֹ֖דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:16 Und er baute von der hintern Seite des Hauses an zwanzig Ellen mit zedernen Brettern vom Boden bis an die Decke und baute also inwendig den Chor, das Allerheiligste.(dhs) 1Ki 6:16 Then he built the twenty-cubit room at the rear of the temple, from floor to ceiling, with cedar boards; he built it inside as the inner sanctuary, as the Most Holy Place.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:17 ============ 1Ki 6:17 The house, that is, the nave in front of the inner sanctuary, was forty cubits long.(nas) 1Ki 6:17 καὶ τεσσαράκοντα πηχῶν ἦν ὁ ναὸς κατὰ πρόσωπον (lxx) 1Ki 6:17 Porro quadraginta cubitorum erat ipsum templum pro foribus oraculi.(vulgate) 17 ׃6 וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים בָּאַמָּ֖ה הָיָ֣ה הַבָּ֑יִת ה֖וּא הַהֵיכָ֥ל לִפְנָֽי׃ Kings1 1Ki 6:17 Aber das Haus des Tempels (vor dem Chor) war vierzig Ellen lang.(dhs) 1Ki 6:17 And in front of it the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long.(nkjv) ======= 1 Kings 6:18 ============ 1Ki 6:18 There was cedar on the house within, carved in the shape of gourds and open flowers;
