Today's Date: ======= 2 Chronicles 12:1 ============ 2Ch 12:1 When the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and strong, he and all Israel with him forsook the law of the Lord.(nas) 2Ch 12:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἡτοιμάσθη ἡ βασιλεία Ροβοαμ καὶ ὡς κατεκρατήθη ἐγκατέλιπεν τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) 2Ch 12:1 Cumque roboratum fuisset regnum Roboam et confortatum, dereliquit legem Domini, et omnis Israël cum eo.(vulgate) 1 ׃12 וַיְהִ֗י כְּהָכִ֞ין מַלְכ֤וּת רְחַבְעָם֙ וּכְחֶזְקָת֔וֹ עָזַ֖ב אֶת־תּוֹרַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עִמּֽוֹ׃ פ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:1 Da aber das Königreich Rehabeams befestigt und bekräftigt ward, verließ er das Gesetz des HERRN und ganz Israel mit ihm.(dhs) 2Ch 12:1 Now it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, that he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel along with him.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:2 ============ 2Ch 12:2 And it came about in King Rehoboam's fifth year, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem(nas) 2Ch 12:2 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ πέμπτῳ ἔτει τῆς βασιλείας Ροβοαμ ἀνέβη Σουσακιμ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ ὅτι ἥμαρτον ἐναντίον κυρίου (lxx) 2Ch 12:2 Anno autem quinto regni Roboam, ascendit Sesac rex Ægypti in Jerusalem (quia peccaverant Domino)(vulgate) 2 ׃12 וַיְהִ֞י בַּשָּׁנָ֤ה הַֽחֲמִישִׁית֙ לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ רְחַבְעָ֔ם עָלָ֛ה שִׁישַׁ֥ק מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֖יִם עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם כִּ֥י מָעֲל֖וּ בַּיהוָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:2 Aber im fünften Jahr des Königs Rehabeam zog herauf Sisak, der König in Ägypten, wider Jerusalem (denn sie hatten sich versündigt am HERRN)(dhs) 2Ch 12:2 And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord,(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:3 ============ 2Ch 12:3 with 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. And the people who came with him from Egypt were without number: the Lubim, the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians.(nas) 2Ch 12:3 ἐν χιλίοις καὶ διακοσίοις ἅρμασιν καὶ ἑξήκοντα χιλιάσιν ἵππων καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀριθμὸς τοῦ πλήθους τοῦ ἐλθόντος μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου Λίβυες Τρωγλοδύται καὶ Αἰθίοπες (lxx) 2Ch 12:3 cum mille ducentis curribus, et sexaginta millibus equitum: nec erat numerus vulgi quod venerat cum eo ex Ægypto, Libyes scilicet, et Troglodytæ, et Æthiopes.(vulgate) 3 ׃12 בְּאֶ֤לֶף וּמָאתַ֙יִם֙ רֶ֔כֶב וּבְשִׁשִּׁ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף פָּרָשִׁ֑ים וְאֵ֣ין מִסְפָּ֗ר לָעָ֞ם אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֤אוּ עִמּוֹ֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם לוּבִ֥ים סֻכִּיִּ֖ים וְכוּשִֽׁים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:3 mit tausendzweihundert Wagen und mit sechzigtausend Reiter, und das Volk war nicht zu zählen, das mit ihm kam aus Ägypten: Libyer, Suchiter und Mohren.(dhs) 2Ch 12:3 with twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand horsemen, and people without number who came with him out of Egypt--the Lubim and the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:4 ============ 2Ch 12:4 He captured the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.(nas) 2Ch 12:4 καὶ κατεκράτησαν τῶν πόλεων τῶν ὀχυρῶν αἳ ἦσαν ἐν Ιουδα καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 12:4 Cepitque civitates munitissimas in Juda, et venit usque in Jerusalem.(vulgate) 4 ׃12 וַיִּלְכֹּ֛ד אֶת־עָרֵ֥י הַמְּצֻר֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִֽיהוּדָ֑ה וַיָּבֹ֖א עַד־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃ ס Chronicles2 2Ch 12:4 Und er gewann die festen Städte, die in Juda waren, und kam bis gen Jerusalem.(dhs) 2Ch 12:4 And he took the fortified cities of Judah and came to Jerusalem.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:5 ============ 2Ch 12:5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, "Thus says the Lord, 'You have forsaken Me, so I also have forsaken you to Shishak.'"(nas) 2Ch 12:5 καὶ Σαμαιας ὁ προφήτης ἦλθεν πρὸς Ροβοαμ καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἄρχοντας Ιουδα τοὺς συναχθέντας εἰς Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ προσώπου Σουσακιμ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὑμεῖς ἐγκατελίπετέ με κἀγὼ ἐγκαταλείψω ὑμᾶς ἐν χειρὶ Σουσακιμ (lxx) 2Ch 12:5 Semeias autem propheta ingressus est ad Roboam, et principes Juda qui congregati fuerant in Jerusalem, fugientes Sesac: dixitque ad eos: Hæc dicit Dominus: Vos reliquistis me, et ego reliqui vos in manu Sesac.(vulgate) 5 ׃12 וּֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֤ה הַנָּבִיא֙ בָּ֣א אֶל־רְחַבְעָ֔ם וְשָׂרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־נֶאֶסְפ֥וּ אֶל־יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם מִפְּנֵ֣י שִׁישָׁ֑ק וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לָהֶ֜ם כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אַתֶּם֙ עֲזַבְתֶּ֣ם אֹתִ֔י וְאַף־אֲנִ֛י עָזַ֥בְתִּי אֶתְכֶ֖ם בְּיַד־שִׁישָֽׁק׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:5 Da kam Semaja, der Prophet, zu Rehabeam und zu den Obersten Juda's, die sich gen Jerusalem versammelt hatten vor Sisak, und sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Ihr habt mich verlassen; darum habe ich euch auch verlassen in Sisaks Hand.(dhs) 2Ch 12:5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, who were gathered together in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, "Thus says the Lord: 'You have forsaken Me, and therefore I also have left you in the hand of Shishak.' "(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:6 ============ 2Ch 12:6 So the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, "The Lord is righteous."(nas) 2Ch 12:6 καὶ ᾐσχύνθησαν οἱ ἄρχοντες Ισραηλ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ εἶπαν δίκαιος ὁ κύριος (lxx) 2Ch 12:6 Consternatique principes Israël et rex, dixerunt: Justus est Dominus.(vulgate) 6 ׃12 וַיִּכָּנְע֥וּ שָׂרֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְהַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ צַדִּ֥יק ׀ יְהוָֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:6 Da demütigten sich die Obersten in Israel mit dem König und sprachen: Der HERR ist gerecht.(dhs) 2Ch 12:6 So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, "The Lord is righteous."(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:7 ============ 2Ch 12:7 When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, "They have humbled themselves so I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some measure of deliverance, and My wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by means of Shishak.(nas) 2Ch 12:7 καὶ ἐν τῷ ἰδεῖν κύριον ὅτι ἐνετράπησαν καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Σαμαιαν λέγων ἐνετράπησαν οὐ καταφθερῶ αὐτούς καὶ δώσω αὐτοὺς ὡς μικρὸν εἰς σωτηρίαν καὶ οὐ μὴ στάξῃ ὁ θυμός μου ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (lxx) 2Ch 12:7 Cumque vidisset Dominus quod humiliati essent, factus est sermo Domini ad Semeiam, dicens: Quia humiliati sunt, non disperdam eos, daboque eis pauxillum auxilii, et non stillabit furor meus super Jerusalem per manum Sesac.(vulgate) 7 ׃12 וּבִרְא֤וֹת יְהוָה֙ כִּ֣י נִכְנָ֔עוּ הָיָה֩ דְבַר־יְהוָ֨ה אֶל־שְׁמַֽעְיָ֧ה ׀ לֵאמֹ֛ר נִכְנְע֖וּ לֹ֣א אַשְׁחִיתֵ֑ם וְנָתַתִּ֨י לָהֶ֤ם כִּמְעַט֙ לִפְלֵיטָ֔ה וְלֹא־תִתַּ֧ךְ חֲמָתִ֛י בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בְּיַד־שִׁישָֽׁק׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:7 Als aber der HERR sah, daß sie sich demütigten, kam das Wort des HERRN zu Semaja und sprach: Sie haben sich gedemütigt; darum will ich sie nicht verderben, sondern ich will ihnen ein wenig Errettung geben, daß mein Grimm nicht triefe auf Jerusalem durch Sisak.(dhs) 2Ch 12:7 Now when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, "They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance. My wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:8 ============ 2Ch 12:8 But they will become his slaves so that they may learn the difference between My service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries."(nas) 2Ch 12:8 ὅτι ἔσονται εἰς παῖδας καὶ γνώσονται τὴν δουλείαν μου καὶ τὴν δουλείαν τῆς βασιλείας τῆς γῆς (lxx) 2Ch 12:8 Verumtamen servient ei, ut sciant distantiam servitutis meæ, et servitutis regni terrarum.(vulgate) 8 ׃12 כִּ֥י יִהְיוּ־ל֖וֹ לַעֲבָדִ֑ים וְיֵדְעוּ֙ עֲב֣וֹדָתִ֔י וַעֲבוֹדַ֖ת מַמְלְכ֥וֹת הָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ ס Chronicles2 2Ch 12:8 Doch sollen sie ihm untertan sein, daß sie innewerden, was es sei, mir dienen und den Königreichen in den Landen dienen.(dhs) 2Ch 12:8 Nevertheless they will be his servants, that they may distinguish My service from the service of the kingdoms of the nations."(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:9 ============ 2Ch 12:9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king's palace. He took everything; he even took the golden shields which Solomon had made.(nas) 2Ch 12:9 καὶ ἀνέβη Σουσακιμ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς θησαυροὺς τοὺς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ τοὺς θησαυροὺς τοὺς ἐν οἴκῳ τοῦ βασιλέως τὰ πάντα ἔλαβεν καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς θυρεοὺς τοὺς χρυσοῦς οὓς ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων (lxx) 2Ch 12:9 Recessit itaque Sesac rex Ægypti ab Jerusalem, sublatis thesauris domus Domini et domus regis: omniaque secum tulit, et clypeos aureos quos fecerat Salomon:(vulgate) 9 ׃12 וַיַּ֨עַל שִׁישַׁ֥ק מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם֮ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִַם֒ וַיִּקַּ֞ח אֶת־אֹצְר֣וֹת בֵּית־יְהוָ֗ה וְאֶת־אֹֽצְרוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֶת־הַכֹּ֖ל לָקָ֑ח וַיִּקַּח֙ אֶת־מָגִנֵּ֣י הַזָּהָ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:9 Also zog Sisak, der König in Ägypten, herauf gen Jerusalem und nahm die Schätze im Hause des HERRN und die Schätze im Hause des Königs und nahm alles weg und nahm auch die goldenen Schilde, die Salomo machen ließ.(dhs) 2Ch 12:9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king's house; he took everything. He also carried away the gold shields which Solomon had made.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:10 ============ 2Ch 12:10 Then King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place and committed them to the care of the commanders of the guard who guarded the door of the king's house.(nas) 2Ch 12:10 καὶ ἐποίησεν Ροβοαμ θυρεοὺς χαλκοῦς ἀντ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ κατέστησεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν Σουσακιμ ἄρχοντας παρατρεχόντων τοὺς φυλάσσοντας τὸν πυλῶνα τοῦ βασιλέως (lxx) 2Ch 12:10 pro quibus fecit rex æneos, et tradidit illos principibus scutariorum, qui custodiebant vestibulum palatii.(vulgate) 10 ׃12 וַיַּ֨עַשׂ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ רְחַבְעָם֙ תַּחְתֵּיהֶ֔ם מָגִנֵּ֖י נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וְהִפְקִ֗יד עַל־יַד֙ שָׂרֵ֣י הָרָצִ֔ים הַשֹּׁ֣מְרִ֔ים פֶּ֖תַח בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:10 An deren Statt ließ der König Rehabeam eherne Schilde machen und befahl sie den Obersten der Trabanten, die an der Tür des Königshauses hüteten.(dhs) 2Ch 12:10 Then King Rehoboam made bronze shields in their place, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who guarded the doorway of the king's house.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:11 ============ 2Ch 12:11 As often as the king entered the house of the Lord, the guards came and carried them and then brought them back into the guards' room.(nas) 2Ch 12:11 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἰσελθεῖν τὸν βασιλέα εἰς οἶκον κυρίου εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ φυλάσσοντες καὶ οἱ παρατρέχοντες καὶ οἱ ἐπιστρέφοντες εἰς ἀπάντησιν τῶν παρατρεχόντων (lxx) 2Ch 12:11 Cumque introiret rex domum Domini, veniebant scutarii et tollebant eos, iterumque referebant eos ad armamentarium suum.(vulgate) 11 ׃12 וַיְהִ֛י מִדֵּי־ב֥וֹא הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה בָּ֤אוּ הָרָצִים֙ וּנְשָׂא֔וּם וֶהֱשִׁב֖וּם אֶל־תָּ֥א הָרָצִֽים׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:11 Und so oft der König in des HERRN Haus ging, kamen die Trabanten und trugen sie und brachten sie wieder in der Trabanten Kammer.(dhs) 2Ch 12:11 And whenever the king entered the house of the Lord, the guard would go and bring them out; then they would take them back into the guardroom.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:12 ============ 2Ch 12:12 And when he humbled himself, the anger of the Lord turned away from him, so as not to destroy him completely; and also conditions were good in Judah.(nas) 2Ch 12:12 καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐντραπῆναι αὐτὸν ἀπεστράφη ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ὀργὴ κυρίου καὶ οὐκ εἰς καταφθορὰν εἰς τέλος καὶ γὰρ ἐν Ιουδα ἦσαν λόγοι ἀγαθοί (lxx) 2Ch 12:12 Verumtamen quia humiliati sunt, aversa est ab eis ira Domini, nec deleti sunt penitus: siquidem et in Juda inventa sunt opera bona.(vulgate) 12 ׃12 וּבְהִכָּֽנְע֗וֹ שָׁ֤ב מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ אַף־יְהוָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א לְהַשְׁחִ֖ית לְכָלָ֑ה וְגַם֙ בִּֽיהוּדָ֔ה הָיָ֖ה דְּבָרִ֥ים טוֹבִֽים׃ ס Chronicles2 2Ch 12:12 Und weil er sich demütigte, wandte sich des HERRN Zorn von ihm, daß nicht alles verderbt ward. Denn es war in Juda noch etwas Gutes.(dhs) 2Ch 12:12 When he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, so as not to destroy him completely; and things also went well in Judah.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:13 ============ 2Ch 12:13 So King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Now Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen from all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. And his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.(nas) 2Ch 12:13 καὶ κατίσχυσεν Ροβοαμ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν καὶ τεσσαράκοντα καὶ ἑνὸς ἐτῶν Ροβοαμ ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν καὶ ἑπτακαίδεκα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν τῇ πόλει ᾗ ἐξελέξατο κύριος ἐπονομάσαι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ ἐκ πασῶν φυλῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Νοομμα ἡ Αμμανῖτις (lxx) 2Ch 12:13 Confortatus est ergo rex Roboam in Jerusalem, atque regnavit: quadraginta autem et unius anni erat cum regnare cœpisset, et decem et septem annis regnavit in Jerusalem, urbe quam elegit Dominus ut confirmaret nomen suum ibi, de cunctis tribubus Israël: nomen autem matris ejus Naama Ammanitis.(vulgate) 13 ׃12 וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֞ק הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ רְחַבְעָ֛ם בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וַיִּמְלֹ֑ךְ כִּ֣י בֶן־אַרְבָּעִ֣ים וְאַחַ֣ת שָׁנָה֩ רְחַבְעָ֨ם בְּמָלְכ֜וֹ וּֽשֲׁבַ֨ע עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה שָׁנָ֣ה ׀ מָלַ֣ךְ בִּֽירוּשָׁלִַ֗ם הָ֠עִיר אֲשֶׁר־בָּחַ֨ר יְהוָ֜ה לָשׂ֨וּם אֶת־שְׁמ֥וֹ שָׁם֙ מִכֹּל֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ נַעֲמָ֖ה הָֽעַמֹּנִֽית׃ Chronicles2 2Ch 12:13 Also ward Rehabeam, der König, bekräftigt in Jerusalem und regierte. Einundvierzig Jahre alt war Rehabeam da er König ward, und regierte siebzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem in der Stadt, die der HERR erwählt hatte aus allen Stämmen Israels, daß er seinen Namen dahin stellte. Seine Mutter hieß Naema, eine Ammonitin.(dhs) 2Ch 12:13 Thus Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned. Now Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king; and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. His mother's name was Naamah, an Ammonitess.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:14 ============ 2Ch 12:14 He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek the Lord.(nas) 2Ch 12:14 καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρόν ὅτι οὐ κατεύθυνεν τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον (lxx) 2Ch 12:14 Fecit autem malum, et non præparavit cor suum ut quæreret Dominum.~(vulgate) 14 ׃12 וַיַּ֖עַשׂ הָרָ֑ע כִּ֣י לֹ֤א הֵכִין֙ לִבּ֔וֹ לִדְר֖וֹשׁ אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃ ס Chronicles2 2Ch 12:14 Und er handelte übel und schickte sein Herz nicht, daß er den HERRN suchte.(dhs) 2Ch 12:14 And he did evil, because he did not prepare his heart to seek the Lord.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 12:15 ============ 2Ch 12:15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, from first to last, are they not written in the records of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, according to genealogical enrollment?
