Visio qua erudivit eum mater sua.(vulgate) 1 ׃31 דִּ֭בְרֵי לְמוּאֵ֣ל מֶ֑לֶךְ מַ֝שָּׂ֗א אֲֽשֶׁר־יִסְּרַ֥תּוּ אִמּֽוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:1 Dies sind die Worte des Königs Lamuel, die Lehre, die ihn seine Mutter lehrte.(dhs) Pro 31:1 The words of King Lemuel, the utterance which his mother taught him:(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:2 ============ Pro 31:2 What, O my son? And what, O son of my womb? And what, O son of my vows?(nas) Pro 31:2 τί τέκνον τηρήσεις τί ῥήσεις θεοῦ πρωτογενές σοὶ λέγω υἱέ τί τέκνον ἐμῆς κοιλίας τί τέκνον ἐμῶν εὐχῶν (lxx) Pro 31:2 [Quid, dilecte mi? quid, dilecte uteri mei? quid, dilecte votorum meorum?(vulgate) 2 ׃31 מַה־בְּ֭רִי וּמַֽה־בַּר־בִּטְנִ֑י וּ֝מֶה בַּר־נְדָרָֽי׃ Proverbs Pro 31:2 Ach mein Auserwählter, ach du Sohn meines Leibes, ach mein gewünschter Sohn,(dhs) Pro 31:2 What, my son? And what, son of my womb? And what, son of my vows?(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:3 ============ Pro 31:3 Do not give your strength to women, Or your ways to that which destroys kings.(nas) Pro 31:3 μὴ δῷς γυναιξὶ σὸν πλοῦτον καὶ τὸν σὸν νοῦν καὶ βίον εἰς ὑστεροβουλίαν (lxx) Pro 31:3 Ne dederis mulieribus substantiam tuam, et divitias tuas ad delendos reges.(vulgate) 3 ׃31 אַל־תִּתֵּ֣ן לַנָּשִׁ֣ים חֵילֶ֑ךָ וּ֝דְרָכֶ֗יךָ לַֽמְח֥וֹת מְלָכִֽין׃ Proverbs Pro 31:3 laß nicht den Weibern deine Kraft und gehe die Wege nicht, darin sich die Könige verderben!(dhs) Pro 31:3 Do not give your strength to women, Nor your ways to that which destroys kings.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:4 ============ Pro 31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, It is not for kings to drink wine, Or for rulers to desire strong drink,(nas) Pro 31:4 μετὰ βουλῆς πάντα ποίει μετὰ βουλῆς οἰνοπότει οἱ δυνάσται θυμώδεις εἰσίν οἶνον δὲ μὴ πινέτωσαν (lxx) Pro 31:4 Noli regibus, o Lamuel, noli regibus dare vinum, quia nullum secretum est ubi regnat ebrietas;(vulgate) 4 ׃31 אַ֤ל לַֽמְלָכִ֨ים ׀ לְֽמוֹאֵ֗ל אַ֣ל לַֽמְלָכִ֣ים שְׁתוֹ־יָ֑יִן וּ֝לְרוֹזְנִ֗ים *או **אֵ֣י שֵׁכָֽר׃ Proverbs Pro 31:4 O, nicht den Königen, Lamuel, nicht den Königen ziemt es, Wein zu trinken, noch den Fürsten starkes Getränk!(dhs) Pro 31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, It is not for kings to drink wine, Nor for princes intoxicating drink;(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:5 ============ Pro 31:5 For they will drink and forget what is decreed, And pervert the rights of all the afflicted.(nas) Pro 31:5 ἵνα μὴ πιόντες ἐπιλάθωνται τῆς σοφίας καὶ ὀρθὰ κρῖναι οὐ μὴ δύνωνται τοὺς ἀσθενεῖς (lxx) Pro 31:5 et ne forte bibant, et obliviscantur judiciorum, et mutent causam filiorum pauperis.(vulgate) 5 ׃31 פֶּן־יִ֭שְׁתֶּה וְיִשְׁכַּ֣ח מְחֻקָּ֑ק וִֽ֝ישַׁנֶּה דִּ֣ין כָּל־בְּנֵי־עֹֽנִי׃ Proverbs Pro 31:5 Sie möchten trinken und der Rechte vergessen und verändern die Sache aller elenden Leute.(dhs) Pro 31:5 Lest they drink and forget the law, And pervert the justice of all the afflicted.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:6 ============ Pro 31:6 Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to him whose life is bitter.(nas) Pro 31:6 δίδοτε μέθην τοῖς ἐν λύπαις καὶ οἶνον πίνειν τοῖς ἐν ὀδύναις (lxx) Pro 31:6 Date siceram mœrentibus, et vinum his qui amaro sunt animo.(vulgate) 6 ׃31 תְּנוּ־שֵׁכָֽר לְאוֹבֵ֑ד וְ֝יַיִן לְמָ֣רֵי נָֽפֶשׁ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:6 Gebt starkes Getränk denen, die am Umkommen sind, und den Wein den betrübten Seelen,(dhs) Pro 31:6 Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to those who are bitter of heart.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:7 ============ Pro 31:7 Let him drink and forget his poverty And remember his trouble no more.(nas) Pro 31:7 ἵνα ἐπιλάθωνται τῆς πενίας καὶ τῶν πόνων μὴ μνησθῶσιν ἔτι (lxx) Pro 31:7 Bibant, et obliviscantur egestatis suæ, et doloris sui non recordentur amplius.(vulgate) 7 ׃31 יִ֭שְׁתֶּה וְיִשְׁכַּ֣ח רִישׁ֑וֹ וַ֝עֲמָל֗וֹ לֹ֣א יִזְכָּר־עֽוֹד׃ Proverbs Pro 31:7 daß sie trinken und ihres Elends vergessen und ihres Unglücks nicht mehr gedenken.(dhs) Pro 31:7 Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:8 ============ Pro 31:8 Open your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate.(nas) Pro 31:8 ἄνοιγε σὸν στόμα λόγῳ θεοῦ καὶ κρῖνε πάντας ὑγιῶς (lxx) Pro 31:8 Aperi os tuum muto, et causis omnium filiorum qui pertranseunt.(vulgate) 8 ׃31 פְּתַח־פִּ֥יךָ לְאִלֵּ֑ם אֶל־דִּ֝֗ין כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י חֲלֽוֹף׃ Proverbs Pro 31:8 Tue deinen Mund auf für die Stummen und für die Sache aller, die verlassen sind.(dhs) Pro 31:8 Open your mouth for the speechless, In the cause of all who are appointed to die.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:9 ============ Pro 31:9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.(nas) Pro 31:9 ἄνοιγε σὸν στόμα καὶ κρῖνε δικαίως διάκρινε δὲ πένητα καὶ ἀσθενῆ (lxx) Pro 31:9 Aperi os tuum, decerne quod justum est, et judica inopem et pauperem.]~(vulgate) 9 ׃31 פְּתַח־פִּ֥יךָ שְׁפָט־צֶ֑דֶק וְ֝דִ֗ין עָנִ֥י וְאֶבְיֽוֹן׃ פ Proverbs Pro 31:9 Tue deinen Mund auf und richte recht und räche den Elenden und Armen.(dhs) Pro 31:9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, And plead the cause of the poor and needy.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:10 ============ Pro 31:10 An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.(nas) Pro 31:10 γυναῖκα ἀνδρείαν τίς εὑρήσει τιμιωτέρα δέ ἐστιν λίθων πολυτελῶν ἡ τοιαύτη (lxx) Pro 31:10 [Mulierem fortem quis inveniet? procul et de ultimis finibus pretium ejus.(vulgate) 10 ׃31 אֵֽשֶׁת־חַ֭יִל מִ֣י יִמְצָ֑א וְרָחֹ֖ק מִפְּנִינִ֣ים מִכְרָֽהּ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:10 Wem ein tugendsam Weib beschert ist, die ist viel edler denn die köstlichsten Perlen.(dhs) Pro 31:10 Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:11 ============ Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.(nas) Pro 31:11 θαρσεῖ ἐπ᾽ αὐτῇ ἡ καρδία τοῦ ἀνδρὸς αὐτῆς ἡ τοιαύτη καλῶν σκύλων οὐκ ἀπορήσει (lxx) Pro 31:11 Confidit in ea cor viri sui, et spoliis non indigebit.(vulgate) 11 ׃31 בָּ֣טַח בָּ֭הּ לֵ֣ב בַּעְלָ֑הּ וְ֝שָׁלָ֗ל לֹ֣א יֶחְסָֽר׃ Proverbs Pro 31:11 Ihres Mannes Herz darf sich auf sie verlassen, und Nahrung wird ihm nicht mangeln.(dhs) Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:12 ============ Pro 31:12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.(nas) Pro 31:12 ἐνεργεῖ γὰρ τῷ ἀνδρὶ ἀγαθὰ πάντα τὸν βίον (lxx) Pro 31:12 Reddet ei bonum, et non malum, omnibus diebus vitæ suæ.(vulgate) 12 ׃31 גְּמָלַ֣תְהוּ ט֣וֹב וְלֹא־רָ֑ע כֹּ֝֗ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּֽיה׃ Proverbs Pro 31:12 Sie tut ihm Liebes und kein Leides ihr Leben lang.(dhs) Pro 31:12 She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:13 ============ Pro 31:13 She looks for wool and flax And works with her hands in delight.(nas) Pro 31:13 μηρυομένη ἔρια καὶ λίνον ἐποίησεν εὔχρηστον ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῆς (lxx) Pro 31:13 Quæsivit lanam et linum, et operata est consilia manuum suarum.(vulgate) 13 ׃31 דָּ֭רְשָׁה צֶ֣מֶר וּפִשְׁתִּ֑ים וַ֝תַּ֗עַשׂ בְּחֵ֣פֶץ כַּפֶּֽיהָ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:13 Sie geht mit Wolle und Flachs um und arbeitet gern mit ihren Händen.(dhs) Pro 31:13 She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:14 ============ Pro 31:14 She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.(nas) Pro 31:14 ἐγένετο ὡσεὶ ναῦς ἐμπορευομένη μακρόθεν συνάγει δὲ αὕτη τὸν βίον (lxx) Pro 31:14 Facta est quasi navis institoris, de longe portans panem suum.(vulgate) 14 ׃31 הָ֭יְתָה כָּאֳנִיּ֣וֹת סוֹחֵ֑ר מִ֝מֶּרְחָ֗ק תָּבִ֥יא לַחְמָֽהּ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:14 Sie ist wie ein Kaufmannsschiff, das seine Nahrung von ferne bringt.(dhs) Pro 31:14 She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:15 ============ Pro 31:15 She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens.(nas) Pro 31:15 καὶ ἀνίσταται ἐκ νυκτῶν καὶ ἔδωκεν βρώματα τῷ οἴκῳ καὶ ἔργα ταῖς θεραπαίναις (lxx) Pro 31:15 Et de nocte surrexit, deditque prædam domesticis suis, et cibaria ancillis suis.(vulgate) 15 ׃31 וַתָּ֤קָם ׀ בְּע֬וֹד לַ֗יְלָה וַתִּתֵּ֣ן טֶ֣רֶף לְבֵיתָ֑הּ וְ֝חֹ֗ק לְנַעֲרֹתֶֽיהָ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:15 Sie steht vor Tages auf und gibt Speise ihrem Hause und Essen ihren Dirnen.(dhs) Pro 31:15 She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:16 ============ Pro 31:16 She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.(nas) Pro 31:16 θεωρήσασα γεώργιον ἐπρίατο ἀπὸ δὲ καρπῶν χειρῶν αὐτῆς κατεφύτευσεν κτῆμα (lxx) Pro 31:16 Consideravit agrum, et emit eum; de fructu manuum suarum plantavit vineam.(vulgate) 16 ׃31 זָמְמָ֣ה שָׂ֭דֶה וַתִּקָּחֵ֑הוּ מִפְּרִ֥י כַ֝פֶּ֗יהָ *נטע **נָ֣טְעָה כָּֽרֶם׃ Proverbs Pro 31:16 Sie denkt nach einem Acker und kauft ihn und pflanzt einen Weinberg von den Früchten ihrer Hände.(dhs) Pro 31:16 She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:17 ============ Pro 31:17 She girds herself with strength And makes her arms strong.(nas) Pro 31:17 ἀναζωσαμένη ἰσχυρῶς τὴν ὀσφὺν αὐτῆς ἤρεισεν τοὺς βραχίονας αὐτῆς εἰς ἔργον (lxx) Pro 31:17 Accinxit fortitudine lumbos suos, et roboravit brachium suum.(vulgate) 17 ׃31 חָֽגְרָ֣ה בְע֣וֹז מָתְנֶ֑יהָ וַ֝תְּאַמֵּ֗ץ זְרֹעוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:17 Sie gürtet ihre Lenden mit Kraft und stärkt ihre Arme.(dhs) Pro 31:17 She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:18 ============ Pro 31:18 She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.(nas) Pro 31:18 ἐγεύσατο ὅτι καλόν ἐστιν τὸ ἐργάζεσθαι καὶ οὐκ ἀποσβέννυται ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ὁ λύχνος αὐτῆς (lxx) Pro 31:18 Gustavit, et vidit quia bona est negotiatio ejus; non extinguetur in nocte lucerna ejus.(vulgate) 18 ׃31 טָ֭עֲמָה כִּי־ט֣וֹב סַחְרָ֑הּ לֹֽא־יִכְבֶּ֖ה *בליל **בַלַּ֣יְלָה נֵרָֽהּ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:18 Sie merkt, wie ihr Handel Frommen bringt; ihre Leuchte verlischt des Nachts nicht.(dhs) Pro 31:18 She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:19 ============ Pro 31:19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle.(nas) Pro 31:19 τοὺς πήχεις αὐτῆς ἐκτείνει ἐπὶ τὰ συμφέροντα τὰς δὲ χεῖρας αὐτῆς ἐρείδει εἰς ἄτρακτον (lxx) Pro 31:19 Manum suam misit ad fortia, et digiti ejus apprehenderunt fusum.(vulgate) 19 ׃31 יָ֭דֶיהָ שִׁלְּחָ֣ה בַכִּישׁ֑וֹר וְ֝כַפֶּ֗יהָ תָּ֣מְכוּ פָֽלֶךְ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:19 Sie streckt ihre Hand nach dem Rocken, und ihre Finger fassen die Spindel.(dhs) Pro 31:19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:20 ============ Pro 31:20 She extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy.(nas) Pro 31:20 χεῖρας δὲ αὐτῆς διήνοιξεν πένητι καρπὸν δὲ ἐξέτεινεν πτωχῷ (lxx) Pro 31:20 Manum suam aperuit inopi, et palmas suas extendit ad pauperem.(vulgate) 20 ׃31 כַּ֭פָּהּ פָּרְשָׂ֣ה לֶעָנִ֑י וְ֝יָדֶ֗יהָ שִׁלְּחָ֥ה לָֽאֶבְיֽוֹן׃ Proverbs Pro 31:20 Sie breitet ihre Hände aus zu dem Armen und reicht ihre Hand dem Dürftigen.(dhs) Pro 31:20 She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:21 ============ Pro 31:21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet.(nas) Pro 31:21 οὐ φροντίζει τῶν ἐν οἴκῳ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς ὅταν που χρονίζῃ πάντες γὰρ οἱ παρ᾽ αὐτῆς ἐνδιδύσκονται (lxx) Pro 31:21 Non timebit domui suæ a frigoribus nivis; omnes enim domestici ejus vestiti sunt duplicibus.(vulgate) 21 ׃31 לֹא־תִירָ֣א לְבֵיתָ֣הּ מִשָּׁ֑לֶג כִּ֥י כָל־בֵּ֝יתָ֗הּ לָבֻ֥שׁ שָׁנִֽים׃ Proverbs Pro 31:21 Sie fürchtet für ihr Haus nicht den Schnee; denn ihr ganzes Haus hat zwiefache Kleider.(dhs) Pro 31:21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:22 ============ Pro 31:22 She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.(nas) Pro 31:22 δισσὰς χλαίνας ἐποίησεν τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς ἐκ δὲ βύσσου καὶ πορφύρας ἑαυτῇ ἐνδύματα (lxx) Pro 31:22 Stragulatam vestem fecit sibi; byssus et purpura indumentum ejus.(vulgate) 22 ׃31 מַרְבַדִּ֥ים עָֽשְׂתָה־לָּ֑הּ שֵׁ֖שׁ וְאַרְגָּמָ֣ן לְבוּשָֽׁהּ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:22 Sie macht sich selbst Decken; feine Leinwand und Purpur ist ihr Kleid.(dhs) Pro 31:22 She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:23 ============ Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.(nas) Pro 31:23 περίβλεπτος δὲ γίνεται ἐν πύλαις ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς ἡνίκα ἂν καθίσῃ ἐν συνεδρίῳ μετὰ τῶν γερόντων κατοίκων τῆς γῆς (lxx) Pro 31:23 Nobilis in portis vir ejus, quando sederit cum senatoribus terræ.(vulgate) 23 ׃31 נוֹדָ֣ע בַּשְּׁעָרִ֣ים בַּעְלָ֑הּ בְּ֝שִׁבְתּ֗וֹ עִם־זִקְנֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:23 Ihr Mann ist bekannt in den Toren, wenn er sitzt bei den Ältesten des Landes.(dhs) Pro 31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:24 ============ Pro 31:24 She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen.(nas) Pro 31:24 σινδόνας ἐποίησεν καὶ ἀπέδοτο περιζώματα δὲ τοῖς Χαναναίοις (lxx) Pro 31:24 Sindonem fecit, et vendidit, et cingulum tradidit Chananæo.(vulgate) 24 ׃31 סָדִ֣ין עָ֭שְׂתָה וַתִּמְכֹּ֑ר וַ֝חֲג֗וֹר נָתְנָ֥ה לַֽכְּנַעֲנִֽי׃ Proverbs Pro 31:24 Sie macht einen Rock und verkauft ihn; einen Gürtel gibt sie dem Krämer.(dhs) Pro 31:24 She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:25 ============ Pro 31:25 Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.(nas) Pro 31:25 στόμα αὐτῆς διήνοιξεν προσεχόντως καὶ ἐννόμως καὶ τάξιν ἐστείλατο τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτῆς (lxx) Pro 31:25 Fortitudo et decor indumentum ejus, et ridebit in die novissimo.(vulgate) 25 ׃31 עֹז־וְהָדָ֥ר לְבוּשָׁ֑הּ וַ֝תִּשְׂחַ֗ק לְי֣וֹם אַחֲרֽוֹן׃ Proverbs Pro 31:25 Kraft und Schöne sind ihr Gewand, und sie lacht des kommenden Tages.(dhs) Pro 31:25 Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:26 ============ Pro 31:26 She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.(nas) Pro 31:26 ἰσχὺν καὶ εὐπρέπειαν ἐνεδύσατο καὶ εὐφράνθη ἐν ἡμέραις ἐσχάταις (lxx) Pro 31:26 Os suum aperuit sapientiæ, et lex clementiæ in lingua ejus.(vulgate) 26 ׃31 פִּ֭יהָ פָּתְחָ֣ה בְחָכְמָ֑ה וְתֽ[m]וֹרַת חֶ֝֗סֶד עַל־לְשׁוֹנָֽהּ׃ Proverbs Pro 31:26 Sie tut ihren Mund auf mit Weisheit, und auf ihrer Zunge ist holdselige Lehre.(dhs) Pro 31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:27 ============ Pro 31:27 She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.(nas) Pro 31:27 στεγναὶ διατριβαὶ οἴκων αὐτῆς σῖτα δὲ ὀκνηρὰ οὐκ ἔφαγεν (lxx) Pro 31:27 Consideravit semitas domus suæ, et panem otiosa non comedit.(vulgate) 27 ׃31 צ֭וֹפִיָּה הֲלִיכ֣וֹת בֵּיתָ֑הּ וְלֶ֥חֶם עַ֝צְל֗וּת לֹ֣א תֹאכֵֽל׃ Proverbs Pro 31:27 Sie schaut, wie es in ihrem Hause zugeht, und ißt ihr Brot nicht mit Faulheit.(dhs) Pro 31:27 She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 31:28 ============ Pro 31:28 Her children rise up and bless her;
