cum impii sumpserint principatum, gemet populus.(vulgate) 2 ׃29 בִּרְב֣וֹת צַ֭דִּיקִים יִשְׂמַ֣ח הָעָ֑ם וּבִמְשֹׁ֥ל רָ֝שָׁ֗ע יֵאָ֥נַֽח עָֽם׃ Proverbs Pro 29:2 Wenn der Gerechten viel sind, freut sich das Volk; vir avarus destruet eam.(vulgate) 4 ׃29 מֶ֗לֶךְ בְּ֭מִשְׁפָּט יַעֲמִ֣יד אָ֑רֶץ וְאִ֖ישׁ תְּרוּמ֣וֹת יֶֽהֶרְסֶֽנָּה׃ Proverbs Pro 29:4 Ein König richtet das Land auf durchs Recht; ein geiziger aber verderbt es.(dhs) Pro 29:4 The king establishes the land by justice, But he who receives bribes overthrows it.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:5 ============ Pro 29:5 A man who flatters his neighbor Is spreading a net for his steps.(nas) Pro 29:5 ὃς παρασκευάζεται ἐπὶ πρόσωπον τοῦ ἑαυτοῦ φίλου δίκτυον περιβάλλει αὐτὸ τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ ποσίν (lxx) Pro 29:5 Homo qui blandis fictisque sermonibus loquitur amico suo rete expandit gressibus ejus.(vulgate) 5 ׃29 גֶּ֭בֶר מַחֲלִ֣יק עַל־רֵעֵ֑הוּ רֶ֝֗שֶׁת פּוֹרֵ֥שׂ עַל־פְּעָמָֽיו׃ Proverbs Pro 29:5 Wer mit seinem Nächsten heuchelt, der breitet ein Netz aus für seine Tritte.(dhs) Pro 29:5 A man who flatters his neighbor Spreads a net for his feet.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:6 ============ Pro 29:6 By transgression an evil man is ensnared, But the righteous sings and rejoices.(nas) Pro 29:6 ἁμαρτάνοντι ἀνδρὶ μεγάλη παγίς δίκαιος δὲ ἐν χαρᾷ καὶ ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ ἔσται (lxx) Pro 29:6 Peccantem virum iniquum involvet laqueus, et justus laudabit atque gaudebit.(vulgate) 6 ׃29 בְּפֶ֤שַֽׁע אִ֣ישׁ רָ֣ע מוֹקֵ֑שׁ וְ֝צַדִּ֗יק יָר֥וּן וְשָׂמֵֽחַ׃ Proverbs Pro 29:6 Wenn ein Böser sündigt, verstrickt er sich selbst; impius ignorat scientiam.(vulgate) 7 ׃29 יֹדֵ֣עַ צַ֭דִּיק דִּ֣ין דַּלִּ֑ים רָ֝שָׁ֗ע לֹא־יָבִ֥ין דָּֽעַת׃ Proverbs Pro 29:7 Der Gerechte erkennt die Sache der Armen; der Gottlose achtet keine Vernunft.(dhs) Pro 29:7 The righteous considers the cause of the poor, But the wicked does not understand such knowledge.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:8 ============ Pro 29:8 Scorners set a city aflame, But wise men turn away anger.(nas) Pro 29:8 ἄνδρες λοιμοὶ ἐξέκαυσαν πόλιν σοφοὶ δὲ ἀπέστρεψαν ὀργήν (lxx) Pro 29:8 Homines pestilentes dissipant civitatem; sapientes vero avertunt furorem.(vulgate) 8 ׃29 אַנְשֵׁ֣י לָ֭צוֹן יָפִ֣יחוּ קִרְיָ֑ה וַ֝חֲכָמִ֗ים יָשִׁ֥יבוּ אָֽף׃ Proverbs Pro 29:8 Die Spötter bringen frech eine Stadt in Aufruhr; aber die Weisen stillen den Zorn.(dhs) Pro 29:8 Scoffers set a city aflame, But wise men turn away wrath.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:9 ============ Pro 29:9 When a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, The foolish man either rages or laughs, and there is no rest.(nas) Pro 29:9 ἀνὴρ σοφὸς κρίνει ἔθνη ἀνὴρ δὲ φαῦλος ὀργιζόμενος καταγελᾶται καὶ οὐ καταπτήσσει (lxx) Pro 29:9 Vir sapiens si cum stulto contenderit, sive irascatur, sive rideat, non inveniet requiem.(vulgate) 9 ׃29 אִֽישׁ־חָכָ֗ם נִ֭שְׁפָּט אֶת־אִ֣ישׁ אֱוִ֑יל וְרָגַ֥ז וְ֝שָׂחַ֗ק וְאֵ֣ין נָֽחַת׃ Proverbs Pro 29:9 Wenn ein Weiser mit einem Narren zu rechten kommt, er zürne oder lache, so hat er nicht Ruhe.(dhs) Pro 29:9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:10 ============ Pro 29:10 Men of bloodshed hate the blameless, But the upright are concerned for his life.(nas) Pro 29:10 ἄνδρες αἱμάτων μέτοχοι μισήσουσιν ὅσιον οἱ δὲ εὐθεῖς ἐκζητήσουσιν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Pro 29:10 Viri sanguinum oderunt simplicem; justi autem quærunt animam ejus.(vulgate) 10 ׃29 אַנְשֵׁ֣י דָ֭מִים יִשְׂנְאוּ־תָ֑ם וִֽ֝ישָׁרִ֗ים יְבַקְשׁ֥וּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ Proverbs Pro 29:10 Die Blutgierigen hassen den Frommen; aber die Gerechten suchen sein Heil.(dhs) Pro 29:10 The bloodthirsty hate the blameless, But the upright seek his well-being.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:11 ============ Pro 29:11 A fool always loses his temper, But a wise man holds it back.(nas) Pro 29:11 ὅλον τὸν θυμὸν αὐτοῦ ἐκφέρει ἄφρων σοφὸς δὲ ταμιεύεται κατὰ μέρος (lxx) Pro 29:11 Totum spiritum suum profert stultus; denn ob er sie gleich versteht, nimmt er sich's doch nicht an.(dhs) Pro 29:19 A servant will not be corrected by mere words; For though he understands, he will not respond.(nkjv) ======= Proverbs 29:20 ============ Pro 29:20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.(nas) Pro 29:20 ἐὰν ἴδῃς ἄνδρα ταχὺν ἐν λόγοις γίνωσκε ὅτι ἐλπίδα ἔχει μᾶλλον ἄφρων αὐτοῦ (lxx) Pro 29:20 Vidisti hominem velocem ad loquendum? stultitia magis speranda est quam illius correptio.(vulgate) 20 ׃29 חָזִ֗יתָ אִ֭ישׁ אָ֣ץ בִּדְבָרָ֑יו תִּקְוָ֖ה לִכְסִ֣יל מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ Proverbs Pro 29:20 Siehst du einen, der schnell ist zu reden, da ist am Narren mehr Hoffnung denn an ihm.(dhs) Pro 29:20 Do you see a man hasty in his words?
