Today's Date: ======= Ezekiel 1:1 ============ Eze 1:1 Now it came about in the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was by the river Chebar among the exiles, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.(nas) Eze 1:1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ τριακοστῷ ἔτει ἐν τῷ τετάρτῳ μηνὶ πέμπτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς καὶ ἐγὼ ἤμην ἐν μέσῳ τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ Χοβαρ καὶ ἠνοίχθησαν οἱ οὐρανοί καὶ εἶδον ὁράσεις θεοῦ (lxx) Eze 1:1 Et factum est in trigesimo anno, in quarto, in quinta mensis, cum essem in medio captivorum juxta fluvium Chobar, aperti sunt cæli, et vidi visiones Dei.(vulgate) 1 ׃1 וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בִּשְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֗ה בָּֽרְבִיעִי֙ בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ וַאֲנִ֥י בְתֽוֹךְ־הַגּוֹלָ֖ה עַל־נְהַר־כְּבָ֑ר נִפְתְּחוּ֙ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וָאֶרְאֶ֖ה מַרְא֥וֹת אֱלֹהִֽים׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:1 Im dreißigsten Jahr, am fünften Tage des vierten Monats, da ich war unter den Gefangenen am Wasser Chebar, tat sich der Himmel auf, und Gott zeigte mir Gesichte.(dhs) Eze 1:1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:2 ============ Eze 1:2 ( On the fifth of the month in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin's exile,(nas) Eze 1:2 πέμπτῃ τοῦ μηνός τοῦτο τὸ ἔτος τὸ πέμπτον τῆς αἰχμαλωσίας τοῦ βασιλέως Ιωακιμ (lxx) Eze 1:2 In quinta mensis, ipse est annus quintus transmigrationis regis Joachim,(vulgate) 2 ׃1 בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ הִ֚יא הַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַחֲמִישִׁ֔ית לְגָל֖וּת הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ יוֹיָכִֽין׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:2 Derselbe fünfte Tag des Monats war eben im fünften Jahr, nachdem Jojachin, der König Juda's, war gefangen weggeführt.(dhs) Eze 1:2 On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin's captivity,(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:3 ============ Eze 1:3 the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and there the hand of the Lord came upon him. )(nas) Eze 1:3 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιεζεκιηλ υἱὸν Βουζι τὸν ἱερέα ἐν γῇ Χαλδαίων ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ Χοβαρ καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ χεὶρ κυρίου (lxx) Eze 1:3 factum est verbum Domini ad Ezechielem filium Buzi sacerdotem, in terra Chaldæorum, secus flumen Chobar: et facta est super eum ibi manus Domini.(vulgate) 3 ׃1 הָיֹ֣ה הָיָ֣ה דְבַר־יְ֠הוָה אֶל־יְחֶזְקֵ֨אל בֶּן־בּוּזִ֧י הַכֹּהֵ֛ן בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים עַל־נְהַר־כְּבָ֑ר וַתְּהִ֥י עָלָ֛יו שָׁ֖ם יַד־יְהוָֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:3 Da geschah das Wort des HERRN zu Hesekiel, dem Sohn Busis, dem Priester, im Lande der Chaldäer, am Wasser Chebar; daselbst kam die Hand des HERRN über ihn.(dhs) Eze 1:3 the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:4 ============ Eze 1:4 As I looked, behold, a storm wind was coming from the north, a great cloud with fire flashing forth continually and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like glowing metal in the midst of the fire.(nas) Eze 1:4 καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ πνεῦμα ἐξαῖρον ἤρχετο ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ νεφέλη μεγάλη ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ φέγγος κύκλῳ αὐτοῦ καὶ πῦρ ἐξαστράπτον καὶ ἐν τῷ μέσῳ αὐτοῦ ὡς ὅρασις ἠλέκτρου ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ πυρὸς καὶ φέγγος ἐν αὐτῷ (lxx) Eze 1:4 Et vidi, et ecce ventus turbinis veniebat ab aquilone, et nubes magna, et ignis involvens, et splendor in circuitu ejus: et de medio ejus, quasi species electri, id est, de medio ignis:(vulgate) 4 ׃1 וָאֵ֡רֶא וְהִנֵּה֩ ר֨וּחַ סְעָרָ֜ה בָּאָ֣ה מִן־הַצָּפ֗וֹן עָנָ֤ן גָּדוֹל֙ וְאֵ֣שׁ מִתְלַקַּ֔חַת וְנֹ֥גַֽהּ ל֖וֹ סָבִ֑יב וּמִ֨תּוֹכָ֔הּ כְּעֵ֥ין הַחַשְׁמַ֖ל מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:4 Und ich sah, und siehe, es kam ein ungestümer Wind von Mitternacht her mit einer großen Wolke voll Feuer, das allenthalben umher glänzte; und mitten in dem Feuer war es lichthell.(dhs) Eze 1:4 Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:5 ============ Eze 1:5 Within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form.(nas) Eze 1:5 καὶ ἐν τῷ μέσῳ ὡς ὁμοίωμα τεσσάρων ζῴων καὶ αὕτη ἡ ὅρασις αὐτῶν ὁμοίωμα ἀνθρώπου ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῖς (lxx) Eze 1:5 et in medio ejus similitudo quatuor animalium. Et hic aspectus eorum, similitudo hominis in eis.(vulgate) 5 ׃1 וּמִ֨תּוֹכָ֔הּ דְּמ֖וּת אַרְבַּ֣ע חַיּ֑וֹת וְזֶה֙ מַרְאֵֽיהֶ֔ן דְּמ֥וּת אָדָ֖ם לָהֵֽנָּה׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:5 Und darin war es gestaltet wie vier Tiere, und dieselben waren anzusehen wie Menschen.(dhs) Eze 1:5 Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:6 ============ Eze 1:6 Each of them had four faces and four wings.(nas) Eze 1:6 καὶ τέσσαρα πρόσωπα τῷ ἑνί καὶ τέσσαρες πτέρυγες τῷ ἑνί (lxx) Eze 1:6 Quatuor facies uni, et quatuor pennæ uni.(vulgate) 6 ׃1 וְאַרְבָּעָ֥ה פָנִ֖ים לְאֶחָ֑ת וְאַרְבַּ֥ע כְּנָפַ֖יִם לְאַחַ֥ת לָהֶֽם׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:6 Und ein jegliches hatte vier Angesichter und vier Flügel.(dhs) Eze 1:6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:7 ============ Eze 1:7 Their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf's hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze.(nas) Eze 1:7 καὶ τὰ σκέλη αὐτῶν ὀρθά καὶ πτερωτοὶ οἱ πόδες αὐτῶν καὶ σπινθῆρες ὡς ἐξαστράπτων χαλκός καὶ ἐλαφραὶ αἱ πτέρυγες αὐτῶν (lxx) Eze 1:7 Pedes eorum, pedes recti, et planta pedis eorum quasi planta pedis vituli: et scintillæ quasi aspectus æris candentis.(vulgate) 7 ׃1 וְרַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם רֶ֣גֶל יְשָׁרָ֑ה וְכַ֣ף רַגְלֵיהֶ֗ם כְּכַף֙ רֶ֣גֶל עֵ֔גֶל וְנֹ֣צְצִ֔ים כְּעֵ֖ין נְחֹ֥שֶׁת קָלָֽל׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:7 Und ihre Beine standen gerade, und ihre Füße waren gleich wie Rinderfüße und glänzten wie helles glattes Erz.(dhs) Eze 1:7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves' feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:8 ============ Eze 1:8 Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them,(nas) Eze 1:8 καὶ χεὶρ ἀνθρώπου ὑποκάτωθεν τῶν πτερύγων αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τὰ τέσσαρα μέρη αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν τῶν τεσσάρων (lxx) Eze 1:8 Et manus hominis sub pennis eorum, in quatuor partibus: et facies et pennas per quatuor partes habebant.(vulgate) 8 ׃1 *וידו **וִידֵ֣י אָדָ֗ם מִתַּ֙חַת֙ כַּנְפֵיהֶ֔ם עַ֖ל אַרְבַּ֣עַת רִבְעֵיהֶ֑ם וּפְנֵיהֶ֥ם וְכַנְפֵיהֶ֖ם לְאַרְבַּעְתָּֽם׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:8 Und sie hatten Menschenhände unter ihren Flügeln an ihren vier Seiten; denn sie hatten alle vier ihre Angesichter und ihre Flügel.(dhs) Eze 1:8 The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:9 ============ Eze 1:9 their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward.(nas) Eze 1:9 οὐκ ἐπεστρέφοντο ἐν τῷ βαδίζειν αὐτά ἕκαστον κατέναντι τοῦ προσώπου αὐτῶν ἐπορεύοντο (lxx) Eze 1:9 Junctæque erant pennæ eorum alterius ad alterum: non revertebantur cum incederent, sed unumquodque ante faciem suam gradiebatur.(vulgate) 9 ׃1 חֹֽבְרֹ֛ת אִשָּׁ֥ה אֶל־אֲחוֹתָ֖הּ כַּנְפֵיהֶ֑ם לֹא־יִסַּ֣בּוּ בְלֶכְתָּ֔ן אִ֛ישׁ אֶל־עֵ֥בֶר פָּנָ֖יו יֵלֵֽכוּ׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:9 Und je einer der Flügel rührte an den andern; und wenn sie gingen, mußten sie nicht herumlenken, sondern wo sie hin gingen, gingen sie stracks vor sich.(dhs) Eze 1:9 Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:10 ============ Eze 1:10 As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle.(nas) Eze 1:10 καὶ ὁμοίωσις τῶν προσώπων αὐτῶν πρόσωπον ἀνθρώπου καὶ πρόσωπον λέοντος ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν καὶ πρόσωπον μόσχου ἐξ ἀριστερῶν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν καὶ πρόσωπον ἀετοῦ τοῖς τέσσαρσιν (lxx) Eze 1:10 Similitudo autem vultus eorum, facies hominis et facies leonis a dextris ipsorum quatuor, facies autem bovis a sinistris ipsorum quatuor, et facies aquilæ desuper ipsorum quatuor.(vulgate) 10 ׃1 וּדְמ֣וּת פְּנֵיהֶם֮ פְּנֵ֣י אָדָם֒ וּפְנֵ֨י אַרְיֵ֤ה אֶל־הַיָּמִין֙ לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֔ם וּפְנֵי־שׁ֥וֹר מֵֽהַשְּׂמֹ֖אול לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֑ן וּפְנֵי־נֶ֖שֶׁר לְאַרְבַּעְתָּֽן׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:10 Ihre Angesichter waren vorn gleich einem Menschen, und zur rechten Seite gleich einem Löwen bei allen vieren, und zur linken Seite gleich einem Ochsen bei allen vieren, und hinten gleich einem Adler bei allen vieren.(dhs) Eze 1:10 As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:11 ============ Eze 1:11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies.(nas) Eze 1:11 καὶ αἱ πτέρυγες αὐτῶν ἐκτεταμέναι ἄνωθεν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν ἑκατέρῳ δύο συνεζευγμέναι πρὸς ἀλλήλας καὶ δύο ἐπεκάλυπτον ἐπάνω τοῦ σώματος αὐτῶν (lxx) Eze 1:11 Facies eorum et pennæ eorum extentæ desuper: duæ pennæ singulorum jungebantur, et duæ tegebant corpora eorum.~(vulgate) 11 ׃1 וּפְנֵיהֶ֕ם וְכַנְפֵיהֶ֥ם פְּרֻד֖וֹת מִלְמָ֑עְלָה לְאִ֗ישׁ שְׁ֚תַּיִם חֹבְר֣וֹת אִ֔ישׁ וּשְׁתַּ֣יִם מְכַסּ֔וֹת אֵ֖ת גְּוִיֹתֵיהֶֽנָה׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:11 Und ihre Angesichter und Flügel waren obenher zerteilt, daß je zwei Flügel zusammenschlugen, und mit zwei Flügeln bedeckten sie ihren Leib.(dhs) Eze 1:11 Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:12 ============ Eze 1:12 And each went straight forward; wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go, without turning as they went.(nas) Eze 1:12 καὶ ἑκάτερον κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἐπορεύετο οὗ ἂν ἦν τὸ πνεῦμα πορευόμενον ἐπορεύοντο καὶ οὐκ ἐπέστρεφον (lxx) Eze 1:12 Et unumquodque eorum coram facie sua ambulabat: ubi erat impetus spiritus, illuc gradiebantur, nec revertebantur cum ambularent.(vulgate) 12 ׃1 וְאִ֛ישׁ אֶל־עֵ֥בֶר פָּנָ֖יו יֵלֵ֑כוּ אֶ֣ל אֲשֶׁר֩ יִֽהְיֶה־שָׁ֨מָּה הָר֤וּחַ לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ יֵלֵ֔כוּ לֹ֥א יִסַּ֖בּוּ בְּלֶכְתָּֽן׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:12 Wo sie hin gingen, da gingen sie stracks vor sich, sie gingen aber, wo der sie hin trieb, und mußten nicht herumlenken, wenn sie gingen.(dhs) Eze 1:12 And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:13 ============ Eze 1:13 In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches darting back and forth among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire.(nas) Eze 1:13 καὶ ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ζῴων ὅρασις ὡς ἀνθράκων πυρὸς καιομένων ὡς ὄψις λαμπάδων συστρεφομένων ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ζῴων καὶ φέγγος τοῦ πυρός καὶ ἐκ τοῦ πυρὸς ἐξεπορεύετο ἀστραπή (lxx) Eze 1:13 Et similitudo animalium, aspectus eorum quasi carbonum ignis ardentium, et quasi aspectus lampadarum: hæc erat visio discurrens in medio animalium, splendor ignis, et de igne fulgur egrediens.(vulgate) 13 ׃1 וּדְמ֨וּת הַחַיּ֜וֹת מַרְאֵיהֶ֣ם כְּגַחֲלֵי־אֵ֗שׁ בֹּֽעֲרוֹת֙ כְּמַרְאֵ֣ה הַלַּפִּדִ֔ים הִ֕יא מִתְהַלֶּ֖כֶת בֵּ֣ין הַחַיּ֑וֹת וְנֹ֣גַהּ לָאֵ֔שׁ וּמִן־הָאֵ֖שׁ יוֹצֵ֥א בָרָֽק׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:13 Und die Tiere waren anzusehen wie feurige Kohlen, die da brennen, und wie Fackeln; und das Feuer fuhr hin zwischen den Tieren und gab einen Glanz von sich, und aus dem Feuer gingen Blitze.(dhs) Eze 1:13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:14 ============ Eze 1:14 And the living beings ran to and fro like bolts of lightning.(nas) Eze 1:14 - - (lxx) Eze 1:14 Et animalia ibant et revertebantur, in similitudinem fulguris coruscantis.(vulgate) 14 ׃1 וְהַחַיּ֖וֹת רָצ֣וֹא וָשׁ֑וֹב כְּמַרְאֵ֖ה הַבָּזָֽק׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:14 Die Tiere aber liefen hin und her wie der Blitz.(dhs) Eze 1:14 And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:15 ============ Eze 1:15 Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them.(nas) Eze 1:15 καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ τροχὸς εἷς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐχόμενος τῶν ζῴων τοῖς τέσσαρσιν (lxx) Eze 1:15 Cumque aspicerem animalia, apparuit rota una super terram juxta animalia, habens quatuor facies.(vulgate) 15 ׃1 וָאֵ֖רֶא הַחַיּ֑וֹת וְהִנֵּה֩ אוֹפַ֨ן אֶחָ֥ד בָּאָ֛רֶץ אֵ֥צֶל הַחַיּ֖וֹת לְאַרְבַּ֥עַת פָּנָֽיו׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:15 Als ich die Tiere so sah, siehe, da stand ein Rad auf der Erde bei den vier Tieren und war anzusehen wie vier Räder.(dhs) Eze 1:15 Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:16 ============ Eze 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another.(nas) Eze 1:16 καὶ τὸ εἶδος τῶν τροχῶν ὡς εἶδος θαρσις καὶ ὁμοίωμα ἓν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν καὶ τὸ ἔργον αὐτῶν ἦν καθὼς ἂν εἴη τροχὸς ἐν τροχῷ (lxx) Eze 1:16 Et aspectus rotarum et opus earum quasi visio maris: et una similitudo ipsarum quatuor: et aspectus earum et opera quasi sit rota in medio rotæ.(vulgate) 16 ׃1 מַרְאֵ֨ה הָאוֹפַנִּ֤ים וּמַעֲשֵׂיהֶם֙ כְּעֵ֣ין תַּרְשִׁ֔ישׁ וּדְמ֥וּת אֶחָ֖ד לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֑ן וּמַרְאֵיהֶם֙ וּמַ֣עֲשֵׂיהֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר יִהְיֶ֥ה הָאוֹפַ֖ן בְּת֥וֹךְ הָאוֹפָֽן׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:16 Und die Räder waren wie Türkis und waren alle vier eins wie das andere, und sie waren anzusehen, als wäre ein Rad im andern.(dhs) Eze 1:16 The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:17 ============ Eze 1:17 Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions without turning as they moved.(nas) Eze 1:17 ἐπὶ τὰ τέσσαρα μέρη αὐτῶν ἐπορεύοντο οὐκ ἐπέστρεφον ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι αὐτὰ (lxx) Eze 1:17 Per quatuor partes earum euntes ibant, et non revertebantur cum ambularent.(vulgate) 17 ׃1 עַל־אַרְבַּ֥עַת רִבְעֵיהֶ֖ן בְּלֶכְתָּ֣ם יֵלֵ֑כוּ לֹ֥א יִסַּ֖בּוּ בְּלֶכְתָּֽן׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:17 Wenn sie gehen wollten, konnten sie nach allen ihren vier Seiten gehen und sie mußten nicht herumlenken, wenn sie gingen.(dhs) Eze 1:17 When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:18 ============ Eze 1:18 As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about.(nas) Eze 1:18 οὐδ᾽ οἱ νῶτοι αὐτῶν καὶ ὕψος ἦν αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶδον αὐτά καὶ οἱ νῶτοι αὐτῶν πλήρεις ὀφθαλμῶν κυκλόθεν τοῖς τέσσαρσιν (lxx) Eze 1:18 Statura quoque erat rotis, et altitudo, et horribilis aspectus: et totum corpus oculis plenum in circuitu ipsarum quatuor.(vulgate) 18 ׃1 וְגַ֨בֵּיהֶ֔ן וְגֹ֥בַהּ לָהֶ֖ם וְיִרְאָ֣ה לָהֶ֑ם וְגַבֹּתָ֗ם מְלֵאֹ֥ת עֵינַ֛יִם סָבִ֖יב לְאַרְבַּעְתָּֽן׃ Ezekiel Eze 1:18 Ihre Felgen und Höhe waren schrecklich; und ihre Felgen waren voller Augen um und um an allen vier Rädern.(dhs) Eze 1:18 As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:19 ============ Eze 1:19 Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. Von seinen Lenden überwärts und unterwärts sah ich's wie Feuer glänzen um und um.(dhs) Eze 1:27 Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.(nkjv) ======= Ezekiel 1:28 ============ Eze 1:28 As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.(nas) Eze 1:28 ὡς ὅρασις τόξου ὅταν ᾖ ἐν τῇ νεφέλῃ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ὑετοῦ οὕτως ἡ στάσις τοῦ φέγγους κυκλόθεν αὕτη ἡ ὅρασις ὁμοιώματος δόξης κυρίου καὶ εἶδον καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου καὶ ἤκουσα φωνὴν λαλοῦντος (lxx) Eze 1:28 velut aspectum arcus cum fuerit in nube in die pluviæ. Hic erat aspectus splendoris per gyrum.(vulgate) 28 ׃1 כְּמַרְאֵ֣ה הַקֶּ֡שֶׁת אֲשֶׁר֩ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה בֶעָנָ֜ן בְּי֣וֹם הַגֶּ֗שֶׁם כֵּ֣ן מַרְאֵ֤ה הַנֹּ֙גַהּ֙ סָבִ֔יב ה֕וּא מַרְאֵ֖ה דְּמ֣וּת כְּבוֹד־יְהוָ֑ה וָֽאֶרְאֶה֙ וָאֶפֹּ֣ל עַל־פָּנַ֔י וָאֶשְׁמַ֖ע ק֥וֹל מְדַבֵּֽר׃ ס Ezekiel Eze 1:28 Gleichwie der Regenbogen sieht in den Wolken, wenn es geregnet hat, also glänzte es um und um. Dies war das Ansehen der Herrlichkeit des HERRN.
