O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years, In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.(nas) Hab 3:2 κύριε εἰσακήκοα τὴν ἀκοήν σου καὶ ἐφοβήθην κατενόησα τὰ ἔργα σου καὶ ἐξέστην ἐν μέσῳ δύο ζῴων γνωσθήσῃ ἐν τῷ ἐγγίζειν τὰ ἔτη ἐπιγνωσθήσῃ ἐν τῷ παρεῖναι τὸν καιρὸν ἀναδειχθήσῃ ἐν τῷ ταραχθῆναι τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐν ὀργῇ ἐλέους μνησθήσῃ (lxx) Hab 3:2 [Domine, audivi auditionem tuam, et timui. Domine, opus tuum, in medio annorum vivifica illud; in medio annorum notum facies: cum iratus fueris, misericordiæ recordaberis.(vulgate) 2 ׃3 יְהוָ֗ה שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי שִׁמְעֲךָ֮ יָרֵאתִי֒ יְהוָ֗ה פָּֽעָלְךָ֙ בְּקֶ֤רֶב שָׁנִים֙ חַיֵּ֔יהוּ בְּקֶ֥רֶב שָׁנִ֖ים תּוֹדִ֑יעַ בְּרֹ֖גֶז רַחֵ֥ם תִּזְכּֽוֹר׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:2 HERR, ich habe dein Gerücht gehört, daß ich mich entsetze. HERR, mache dein Werk lebendig mitten in den Jahren und laß es kund werden mitten in den Jahren. Wenn Trübsal da ist, so denke der Barmherzigkeit.(dhs) Hab 3:2 O Lord, I have heard your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! His splendor covers the heavens, And the earth is full of His praise.(nas) Hab 3:3 ὁ θεὸς ἐκ Θαιμαν ἥξει καὶ ὁ ἅγιος ἐξ ὄρους κατασκίου δασέος διάψαλμα ἐκάλυψεν οὐρανοὺς ἡ ἀρετὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ αἰνέσεως αὐτοῦ πλήρης ἡ γῆ (lxx) Hab 3:3 Deus ab austro veniet, et Sanctus de monte Pharan: operuit cælos gloria ejus, et laudis ejus plena est terra.(vulgate) 3 ׃3 אֱל֙וֹהַ֙ מִתֵּימָ֣ן יָב֔וֹא וְקָד֥וֹשׁ מֵֽהַר־פָּארָ֖ן סֶ֑לָה כִּסָּ֤ה שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ הוֹד֔וֹ וּתְהִלָּת֖וֹ מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָֽרֶץ׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:3 Gott kam vom Mittag und der Heilige vom Gebirge Pharan. Selah His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of His praise.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:4 ============ Hab 3:4 His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And there is the hiding of His power.(nas) Hab 3:4 καὶ φέγγος αὐτοῦ ὡς φῶς ἔσται κέρατα ἐν χερσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθετο ἀγάπησιν κραταιὰν ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hab 3:4 Splendor ejus ut lux erit, cornua in manibus ejus: ibi abscondita est fortitudo ejus.(vulgate) 4 ׃3 וְנֹ֙גַהּ֙ כָּא֣וֹר תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה קַרְנַ֥יִם מִיָּד֖וֹ ל֑וֹ וְשָׁ֖ם חֶבְי֥וֹן עֻזֹּֽה׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:4 Sein Glanz war wie ein Licht; Strahlen gingen von seinen Händen; darin war verborgen seine Macht.(dhs) Hab 3:4 His brightness was like the light; He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:5 ============ Hab 3:5 Before Him goes pestilence, And plague comes after Him.(nas) Hab 3:5 πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ πορεύσεται λόγος καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ἐν πεδίλοις οἱ πόδες αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hab 3:5 Ante faciem ejus ibit mors, et egredietur diabolus ante pedes ejus.(vulgate) 5 ׃3 לְפָנָ֖יו יֵ֣לֶךְ דָּ֑בֶר וְיֵצֵ֥א רֶ֖שֶׁף לְרַגְלָֽיו׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:5 Vor ihm her ging Pestilenz, und Plage ging aus, wo er hin trat.(dhs) Hab 3:5 Before Him went pestilence, And fever followed at His feet.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:6 ============ Hab 3:6 He stood and surveyed the earth; He looked and startled the nations. Yes, the perpetual mountains were shattered, The ancient hills collapsed. His ways are everlasting.(nas) Hab 3:6 ἔστη καὶ ἐσαλεύθη ἡ γῆ ἐπέβλεψεν καὶ διετάκη ἔθνη διεθρύβη τὰ ὄρη βίᾳ ἐτάκησαν βουνοὶ αἰώνιοι (lxx) Hab 3:6 Stetit, et mensus est terram; aspexit, et dissolvit gentes, et contriti sunt montes sæculi: incurvati sunt colles mundi ab itineribus æternitatis ejus.(vulgate) 6 ׃3 עָמַ֣ד ׀ וַיְמֹ֣דֶד אֶ֗רֶץ רָאָה֙ וַיַּתֵּ֣ר גּוֹיִ֔ם וַיִּתְפֹּֽצְצוּ֙ הַרְרֵי־עַ֔ד שַׁח֖וּ גִּבְע֣וֹת עוֹלָ֑ם הֲלִיכ֥וֹת עוֹלָ֖ם לֽוֹ׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:6 Er stand und maß die Erde, er schaute und machte beben die Heiden, daß zerschmettert wurden die Berge, die von alters her sind, und sich bücken mußten die ewigen Hügel, da er wie vor alters einherzog.(dhs) Hab 3:6 He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:7 ============ Hab 3:7 I saw the tents of Cushan under distress, The tent curtains of the land of Midian were trembling.(nas) Hab 3:7 πορείας αἰωνίας αὐτοῦ ἀντὶ κόπων εἶδον σκηνώματα Αἰθιόπων πτοηθήσονται καὶ αἱ σκηναὶ γῆς Μαδιαμ (lxx) Hab 3:7 Pro iniquitate vidi tentoria Æthiopiæ; turbabuntur pelles terræ Madian.(vulgate) 7 ׃3 תַּ֣חַת אָ֔וֶן רָאִ֖יתִי אָהֳלֵ֣י כוּשָׁ֑ן יִרְגְּז֕וּן יְרִיע֖וֹת אֶ֥רֶץ מִדְיָֽן׃ ס Habakkuk Hab 3:7 Ich sah der Mohren Hütten in Not und der Midianiter Gezelte betrübt.(dhs) Hab 3:7 I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; The curtains of the land of Midian trembled.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:8 ============ Hab 3:8 Did the Lord rage against the rivers, Or was Your anger against the rivers, Or was Your wrath against the sea, That You rode on Your horses, On Your chariots of salvation?(nas) Hab 3:8 μὴ ἐν ποταμοῖς ὠργίσθης κύριε ἢ ἐν ποταμοῖς ὁ θυμός σου ἢ ἐν θαλάσσῃ τὸ ὅρμημά σου ὅτι ἐπιβήσῃ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἵππους σου καὶ ἡ ἱππασία σου σωτηρία (lxx) Hab 3:8 Numquid in fluminibus iratus es, Domine? aut in fluminibus furor tuus? vel in mari indignatio tua? Qui ascendes super equos tuos, et quadrigæ tuæ salvatio.(vulgate) 8 ׃3 הֲבִנְהָרִים֙ חָרָ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אִ֤ם בַּנְּהָרִים֙ אַפֶּ֔ךָ אִם־בַּיָּ֖ם עֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ כִּ֤י תִרְכַּב֙ עַל־סוּסֶ֔יךָ מַרְכְּבֹתֶ֖יךָ יְשׁוּעָֽה׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:8 Warst du nicht zornig, HERR, in der Flut und dein Grimm in den Wassern und dein Zorn im Meer, da du auf deinen Rossen rittest und deine Wagen den Sieg behielten?(dhs) Hab 3:8 O Lord, were You displeased with the rivers, Was Your anger against the rivers, Was Your wrath against the sea, That You rode on Your horses, Your chariots of salvation?(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:9 ============ Hab 3:9 Your bow was made bare, The rods of chastisement were sworn. You cleaved the earth with rivers.(nas) Hab 3:9 ἐντείνων ἐντενεῖς τὸ τόξον σου ἐπὶ τὰ σκῆπτρα λέγει κύριος διάψαλμα ποταμῶν ῥαγήσεται γῆ (lxx) Hab 3:9 Suscitans suscitabis arcum tuum, juramenta tribubus quæ locutus es; fluvios scindes terræ.(vulgate) 9 ׃3 עֶרְיָ֤ה תֵעוֹר֙ קַשְׁתֶּ֔ךָ שְׁבֻע֥וֹת מַטּ֖וֹת אֹ֣מֶר סֶ֑לָה נְהָר֖וֹת תְּבַקַּע־אָֽרֶץ׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:9 Du zogst den Bogen hervor, wie du geschworen hattest den Stämmen (sela!), und verteiltest die Ströme ins Land.(dhs) Hab 3:9 Your bow was made quite ready; Oaths were sworn over Your arrows. Selah You divided the earth with rivers.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:10 ============ Hab 3:10 The mountains saw You and quaked; The downpour of waters swept by. The deep uttered forth its voice, It lifted high its hands.(nas) Hab 3:10 ὄψονταί σε καὶ ὠδινήσουσιν λαοί σκορπίζων ὕδατα πορείας αὐτοῦ ἔδωκεν ἡ ἄβυσσος φωνὴν αὐτῆς ὕψος φαντασίας αὐτῆς (lxx) Hab 3:10 Viderunt te, et doluerunt montes; gurges aquarum transiit: dedit abyssus vocem suam; altitudo manus suas levavit.(vulgate) 10 ׃3 רָא֤וּךָ יָחִ֙ילוּ֙ הָרִ֔ים זֶ֥רֶם מַ֖יִם עָבָ֑ר נָתַ֤ן תְּהוֹם֙ קוֹל֔וֹ ר֖וֹם יָדֵ֥יהוּ נָשָֽׂא׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:10 Die Berge sahen dich, und ihnen ward bange; der Wasserstrom fuhr dahin, die Tiefe ließ sich hören, die Höhe hob die Hände auf.(dhs) Hab 3:10 The mountains saw You and trembled; The overflowing of the water passed by. The deep uttered its voice, And lifted its hands on high.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:11 ============ Hab 3:11 Sun and moon stood in their places; They went away at the light of Your arrows, At the radiance of Your gleaming spear.(nas) Hab 3:11 ἐπήρθη ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἡ σελήνη ἔστη ἐν τῇ τάξει αὐτῆς εἰς φῶς βολίδες σου πορεύσονται εἰς φέγγος ἀστραπῆς ὅπλων σου (lxx) Hab 3:11 Sol et luna steterunt in habitaculo suo: in luce sagittarum tuarum ibunt, in splendore fulgurantis hastæ tuæ.(vulgate) 11 ׃3 שֶׁ֥מֶשׁ יָרֵ֖חַ עָ֣מַד זְבֻ֑לָה לְא֤וֹר חִצֶּ֙יךָ֙ יְהַלֵּ֔כוּ לְנֹ֖גַהּ בְּרַ֥ק חֲנִיתֶֽךָ׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:11 Sonne und Mond standen still. Deine Pfeile fuhren mit Glänzen dahin und dein Speere mit Leuchten des Blitzes.(dhs) Hab 3:11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of Your glittering spear.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:12 ============ Hab 3:12 In indignation You marched through the earth; In anger You trampled the nations.(nas) Hab 3:12 ἐν ἀπειλῇ ὀλιγώσεις γῆν καὶ ἐν θυμῷ κατάξεις ἔθνη (lxx) Hab 3:12 In fremitu conculcabis terram; in furore obstupefacies gentes.(vulgate) 12 ׃3 בְּזַ֖עַם תִּצְעַד־אָ֑רֶץ בְּאַ֖ף תָּד֥וּשׁ גּוֹיִֽם׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:12 Du zertratest das Land im Zorn und zerdroschest die Heiden im Grimm.(dhs) Hab 3:12 You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:13 ============ Hab 3:13 You went forth for the salvation of Your people, For the salvation of Your anointed. You struck the head of the house of the evil To lay him open from thigh to neck. Selah.(nas) Hab 3:13 ἐξῆλθες εἰς σωτηρίαν λαοῦ σου τοῦ σῶσαι τοὺς χριστούς σου ἔβαλες εἰς κεφαλὰς ἀνόμων θάνατον ἐξήγειρας δεσμοὺς ἕως τραχήλου διάψαλμα (lxx) Hab 3:13 Egressus es in salutem populi tui, in salutem cum christo tuo: percussisti caput de domo impii, denudasti fundamentum ejus usque ad collum.(vulgate) 13 ׃3 יָצָ֙אתָ֙ לְיֵ֣שַׁע עַמֶּ֔ךָ לְיֵ֖שַׁע אֶת־מְשִׁיחֶ֑ךָ מָחַ֤צְתָּ רֹּאשׁ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית רָשָׁ֔ע עָר֛וֹת יְס֥וֹד עַד־צַוָּ֖אר סֶֽלָה׃ פ Habakkuk Hab 3:13 Du zogst aus, deinem Volk zu helfen, zu helfen deinem Gesalbten; du zerschmettertest das Haupt im Hause des Gottlosen und entblößtest die Grundfeste bis an den Hals. They stormed in to scatter us; Their exultation was like those Who devour the oppressed in secret.(nas) Hab 3:14 διέκοψας ἐν ἐκστάσει κεφαλὰς δυναστῶν σεισθήσονται ἐν αὐτῇ διανοίξουσιν χαλινοὺς αὐτῶν ὡς ἔσθων πτωχὸς λάθρᾳ (lxx) Hab 3:14 Maledixisti sceptris ejus, capiti bellatorum ejus, venientibus ut turbo ad dispergendum me: exsultatio eorum, sicut ejus qui devorat pauperem in abscondito.(vulgate) 14 ׃3 נָקַ֤בְתָּ בְמַטָּיו֙ רֹ֣אשׁ *פרזו **פְּרָזָ֔יו יִסְעֲר֖וּ לַהֲפִיצֵ֑נִי עֲלִ֣יצֻתָ֔ם כְּמוֹ־לֶאֱכֹ֥ל עָנִ֖י בַּמִּסְתָּֽר׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:14 Du durchbohrtest mit seinen Speeren das Haupt seiner Scharen, die wie ein Wetter kamen, mich zu zerstreuen, und freuten sich, als fräßen sie die Elenden im Verborgenen.(dhs) Hab 3:14 You thrust through with his own arrows The head of his villages. They came out like a whirlwind to scatter me; Their rejoicing was like feasting on the poor in secret.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:15 ============ Hab 3:15 You trampled on the sea with Your horses, On the surge of many waters.(nas) Hab 3:15 καὶ ἐπεβίβασας εἰς θάλασσαν τοὺς ἵππους σου ταράσσοντας ὕδωρ πολύ (lxx) Hab 3:15 Viam fecisti in mari equis tuis, in luto aquarum multarum.(vulgate) 15 ׃3 דָּרַ֥כְתָּ בַיָּ֖ם סוּסֶ֑יךָ חֹ֖מֶר מַ֥יִם רַבִּֽים׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:15 Deine Rosse gingen im Meer, im Schlamm großer Wasser.(dhs) Hab 3:15 You walked through the sea with Your horses, Through the heap of great waters.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:16 ============ Hab 3:16 I heard and my inward parts trembled, At the sound my lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, And in my place I tremble. Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, For the people to arise who will invade us.(nas) Hab 3:16 ἐφυλαξάμην καὶ ἐπτοήθη ἡ κοιλία μου ἀπὸ φωνῆς προσευχῆς χειλέων μου καὶ εἰσῆλθεν τρόμος εἰς τὰ ὀστᾶ μου καὶ ὑποκάτωθέν μου ἐταράχθη ἡ ἕξις μου ἀναπαύσομαι ἐν ἡμέρᾳ θλίψεως τοῦ ἀναβῆναι εἰς λαὸν παροικίας μου (lxx) Hab 3:16 Audivi, et conturbatus est venter meus; a voce contremuerunt labia mea. Ingrediatur putredo in ossibus meis, et subter me scateat: ut requiescam in die tribulationis, ut ascendam ad populum accinctum nostrum.(vulgate) 16 ׃3 שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי ׀ וַתִּרְגַּ֣ז בִּטְנִ֗י לְקוֹל֙ צָלֲל֣וּ שְׂפָתַ֔י יָב֥וֹא רָקָ֛ב בַּעֲצָמַ֖י וְתַחְתַּ֣י אֶרְגָּ֑ז אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנ֙וּחַ֙ לְי֣וֹם צָרָ֔ה לַעֲל֖וֹת לְעַ֥ם יְגוּדֶֽנּוּ׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:16 Weil ich solches hörte, bebt mein Leib, meine Lippen zittern von dem Geschrei; Eiter geht in meine Gebeine, und meine Kniee beben, dieweil ich ruhig harren muß bis auf die Zeit der Trübsal, da wir hinaufziehen zum Volk, das uns bestreitet.(dhs) Hab 3:16 When I heard, my body trembled; My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness entered my bones; And I trembled in myself, That I might rest in the day of trouble. When he comes up to the people, He will invade them with his troops.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:17 ============ Hab 3:17 Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls,(nas) Hab 3:17 διότι συκῆ οὐ καρποφορήσει καὶ οὐκ ἔσται γενήματα ἐν ταῖς ἀμπέλοις ψεύσεται ἔργον ἐλαίας καὶ τὰ πεδία οὐ ποιήσει βρῶσιν ἐξέλιπον ἀπὸ βρώσεως πρόβατα καὶ οὐχ ὑπάρχουσιν βόες ἐπὶ φάτναις (lxx) Hab 3:17 Ficus enim non florebit, et non erit germen in vineis; mentietur opus olivæ, et arva non afferent cibum: abscindetur de ovili pecus, et non erit armentum in præsepibus.(vulgate) 17 ׃3 כִּֽי־תְאֵנָ֣ה לֹֽא־תִפְרָ֗ח וְאֵ֤ין יְבוּל֙ בַּגְּפָנִ֔ים כִּחֵשׁ֙ מַעֲשֵׂה־זַ֔יִת וּשְׁדֵמ֖וֹת לֹא־עָ֣שָׂה אֹ֑כֶל גָּזַ֤ר מִמִּכְלָה֙ צֹ֔אן וְאֵ֥ין בָּקָ֖ר בָּרְפָתִֽים׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:17 Denn der Feigenbaum wird nicht grünen, und wird kein Gewächs sein an den Weinstöcken; die Arbeit am Ölbaum ist vergeblich, und die Äcker bringen keine Nahrung; und Schafe werden aus den Hürden gerissen, und werden keine Rinder in den Ställen sein.(dhs) Hab 3:17 Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls--(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:18 ============ Hab 3:18 Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.(nas) Hab 3:18 ἐγὼ δὲ ἐν τῷ κυρίῳ ἀγαλλιάσομαι χαρήσομαι ἐπὶ τῷ θεῷ τῷ σωτῆρί μου (lxx) Hab 3:18 Ego autem in Domino gaudebo; et exsultabo in Deo Jesu meo.(vulgate) 18 ׃3 וַאֲנִ֖י בַּיהוָ֣ה אֶעְל֑וֹזָה אָגִ֖ילָה בֵּאלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׁעִֽי׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:18 Aber ich will mich freuen des HERRN und fröhlich sein in Gott, meinem Heil.(dhs) Hab 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.(nkjv) ======= Habakkuk 3:19 ============ Hab 3:19 The Lord God is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments.(nas) Hab 3:19 κύριος ὁ θεὸς δύναμίς μου καὶ τάξει τοὺς πόδας μου εἰς συντέλειαν ἐπὶ τὰ ὑψηλὰ ἐπιβιβᾷ με τοῦ νικῆσαι ἐν τῇ ᾠδῇ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hab 3:19 Deus Dominus fortitudo mea, et ponet pedes meos quasi cervorum: et super excelsa mea deducet me victor in psalmis canentem.](vulgate) 19 ׃3 יְהוִ֤הּ אֲדֹנָי֙ חֵילִ֔י וַיָּ֤שֶׂם רַגְלַי֙ כָּֽאַיָּל֔וֹת וְעַ֥ל בָּמוֹתַ֖י יַדְרִכֵ֑נִי לַמְנַצֵּ֖חַ בִּנְגִינוֹתָֽי׃ Habakkuk Hab 3:19 Denn der HERR ist meine Kraft und wird meine Füße machen wie Hirschfüße und wird mich auf meine Höhen führen.
