Today's Date: ======= Haggai 1:1 ============ Hag 1:1 In the second year of Darius the king, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the Lord came by the prophet Haggai to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,(nas) Hag 1:1 ἐν τῷ δευτέρῳ ἔτει ἐπὶ Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ ἕκτῳ μιᾷ τοῦ μηνὸς ἐγένετο λόγος κύριου ἐν χειρὶ Αγγαιου τοῦ προφήτου λέγων εἰπὸν δὴ πρὸς Ζοροβαβελ τὸν τοῦ Σαλαθιηλ ἐκ φυλῆς Ιουδα καὶ πρὸς Ἰησοῦν τὸν τοῦ Ιωσεδεκ τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν λέγων (lxx) Hag 1:1 In anno secundo Darii regis, in mense sexto, in die una mensis, factum est verbum Domini in manu Aggæi prophetæ, ad Zorobabel, filium Salathiel, ducem Juda, et ad Jesum, filium Josedec, sacerdotem magnum, dicens:(vulgate) 1 ׃1 בִּשְׁנַ֤ת שְׁתַּ֙יִם֙ לְדָרְיָ֣וֶשׁ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ בַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ הָיָ֨ה דְבַר־יְהוָ֜ה בְּיַד־חַגַּ֣י הַנָּבִ֗יא אֶל־זְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל בֶּן־שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ פַּחַ֣ת יְהוּדָ֔ה וְאֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֧עַ בֶּן־יְהוֹצָדָ֛ק הַכֹּהֵ֥ן הַגָּד֖וֹל לֵאמֹֽר׃ Haggai Hag 1:1 Im zweiten Jahr des Königs Darius, im sechsten Monat, am ersten Tage des Monats, geschah des HERRN Wort durch den Propheten Haggai zu Serubabel, dem Sohn Sealthiels, dem Fürsten Juda's, und zu Josua, dem Sohn Jozadaks, dem Hohenpriester, und sprach:(dhs) Hag 1:1 In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:2 ============ Hag 1:2 "Thus says the Lord of hosts, 'This people says, "The time has not come, even the time for the house of the Lord to be rebuilt."'"(nas) Hag 1:2 τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ λέγων ὁ λαὸς οὗτος λέγουσιν οὐχ ἥκει ὁ καιρὸς τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι τὸν οἶκον κυρίου (lxx) Hag 1:2 Hæc ait Dominus exercituum, dicens: Populus iste dicit: Nondum venit tempus domus Domini ædificandæ.(vulgate) 2 ׃1 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת לֵאמֹ֑ר הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ אָֽמְר֔וּ לֹ֥א עֶת־בֹּ֛א עֶת־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה לְהִבָּנֽוֹת׃ פ Haggai Hag 1:2 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Dies Volk spricht: Die Zeit ist noch nicht da, daß man des HERRN Haus baue.(dhs) Hag 1:2 "Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying: 'This people says, "The time has not come, the time that the Lord's house should be built." ' "(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:3 ============ Hag 1:3 Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying,(nas) Hag 1:3 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου ἐν χειρὶ Αγγαιου τοῦ προφήτου λέγων (lxx) Hag 1:3 Et factum est verbum Domini in manu Aggæi prophetæ, dicens:(vulgate) 3 ׃1 וַֽיְהִי֙ דְּבַר־יְהוָ֔ה בְּיַד־חַגַּ֥י הַנָּבִ֖יא לֵאמֹֽר׃ Haggai Hag 1:3 Und des HERRN Wort geschah durch den Propheten Haggai:(dhs) Hag 1:3 Then the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying,(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:4 ============ Hag 1:4 "Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses while this house lies desolate?"(nas) Hag 1:4 εἰ καιρὸς ὑμῖν μέν ἐστιν τοῦ οἰκεῖν ἐν οἴκοις ὑμῶν κοιλοστάθμοις ὁ δὲ οἶκος οὗτος ἐξηρήμωται (lxx) Hag 1:4 [Numquid tempus vobis est ut habitetis in domibus laqueatis, et domus ista deserta?(vulgate) 4 ׃1 הַעֵ֤ת לָכֶם֙ אַתֶּ֔ם לָשֶׁ֖בֶת בְּבָתֵּיכֶ֣ם סְפוּנִ֑ים וְהַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּ֖ה חָרֵֽב׃ Haggai Hag 1:4 Aber eure Zeit ist da, daß ihr in getäfelten Häusern wohnt, und dies Haus muß wüst stehen?(dhs) Hag 1:4 "Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?"(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:5 ============ Hag 1:5 Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, "Consider your ways!(nas) Hag 1:5 καὶ νῦν τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ τάξατε δὴ τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν εἰς τὰς ὁδοὺς ὑμῶν (lxx) Hag 1:5 Et nunc hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Ponite corda vestra super vias vestras.(vulgate) 5 ׃1 וְעַתָּ֕ה כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת שִׂ֥ימוּ לְבַבְכֶ֖ם עַל־דַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃ Haggai Hag 1:5 Nun, so spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Schauet, wie es euch geht!(dhs) Hag 1:5 Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: "Consider your ways!(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:6 ============ Hag 1:6 You have sown much, but harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns, earns wages to put into a purse with holes."(nas) Hag 1:6 ἐσπείρατε πολλὰ καὶ εἰσηνέγκατε ὀλίγα ἐφάγετε καὶ οὐκ εἰς πλησμονήν ἐπίετε καὶ οὐκ εἰς μέθην περιεβάλεσθε καὶ οὐκ ἐθερμάνθητε ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ ὁ τοὺς μισθοὺς συνάγων συνήγαγεν εἰς δεσμὸν τετρυπημένον (lxx) Hag 1:6 Seminastis multum, et intulistis parum; comedistis, et non estis satiati; bibistis, et non estis inebriati; operuistis vos, et non estis calefacti; et qui mercedes congregavit, misit eas in sacculum pertusum.(vulgate) 6 ׃1 זְרַעְתֶּ֨ם הַרְבֵּ֜ה וְהָבֵ֣א מְעָ֗ט אָכ֤וֹל וְאֵין־לְשָׂבְעָה֙ שָׁת֣וֹ וְאֵין־לְשָׁכְרָ֔ה לָב֖וֹשׁ וְאֵין־לְחֹ֣ם ל֑וֹ וְהַ֨מִּשְׂתַּכֵּ֔ר מִשְׂתַּכֵּ֖ר אֶל־צְר֥וֹר נָקֽוּב׃ פ Haggai Hag 1:6 Ihr säet viel, und bringet wenig ein; ihr esset, und werdet doch nicht satt; ihr trinket, und werdet doch nicht trunken; ihr kleidet euch, und könnt euch doch nicht erwärmen; und wer Geld verdient, der legt's in einen löchrigen Beutel.(dhs) Hag 1:6 "You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes."(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:7 ============ Hag 1:7 Thus says the Lord of hosts, "Consider your ways!(nas) Hag 1:7 τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ θέσθε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν εἰς τὰς ὁδοὺς ὑμῶν (lxx) Hag 1:7 Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Ponite corda vestra super vias vestras;(vulgate) 7 ׃1 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת שִׂ֥ימוּ לְבַבְכֶ֖ם עַל־דַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃ Haggai Hag 1:7 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Schauet, wie es euch geht!(dhs) Hag 1:7 Thus says the Lord of hosts: "Consider your ways!(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:8 ============ Hag 1:8 Go up to the mountains, bring wood and rebuild the temple, that I may be pleased with it and be glorified," says the Lord.(nas) Hag 1:8 ἀνάβητε ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος καὶ κόψατε ξύλα καὶ οἰκοδομήσατε τὸν οἶκον καὶ εὐδοκήσω ἐν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι εἶπεν κύριος (lxx) Hag 1:8 ascendite in montem, portate ligna, et ædificate domum: et acceptabilis mihi erit, et glorificabor, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) 8 ׃1 עֲל֥וּ הָהָ֛ר וַהֲבֵאתֶ֥ם עֵ֖ץ וּבְנ֣וּ הַבָּ֑יִת וְאֶרְצֶה־בּ֥וֹ *ואכבד **וְאֶכָּבְדָ֖ה אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ Haggai Hag 1:8 Gehet hin auf das Gebirge und holet Holz und bauet das Haus; das soll mir angenehm sein, und ich will meine Ehre erzeigen, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Hag 1:8 Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified," says the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:9 ============ Hag 1:9 "You look for much, but behold, it comes to little; when you bring it home, I blow it away. Why?" declares the Lord of hosts," Because of My house which lies desolate, while each of you runs to his own house.(nas) Hag 1:9 ἐπεβλέψατε εἰς πολλά καὶ ἐγένετο ὀλίγα καὶ εἰσηνέχθη εἰς τὸν οἶκον καὶ ἐξεφύσησα αὐτά διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ὁ οἶκός μού ἐστιν ἔρημος ὑμεῖς δὲ διώκετε ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hag 1:9 Respexistis ad amplius, et ecce factum est minus; et intulistis in domum, et exsufflavi illud: quam ob causam? dicit Dominus exercituum: quia domus mea deserta est, et vos festinatis unusquisque in domum suam.(vulgate) 9 ׃1 פָּנֹ֤ה אֶל־הַרְבֵּה֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה לִמְעָ֔ט וַהֲבֵאתֶ֥ם הַבַּ֖יִת וְנָפַ֣חְתִּי ב֑וֹ יַ֣עַן מֶ֗ה נְאֻם֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת יַ֗עַן בֵּיתִי֙ אֲשֶׁר־ה֣וּא חָרֵ֔ב וְאַתֶּ֥ם רָצִ֖ים אִ֥ישׁ לְבֵיתֽוֹ׃ Haggai Hag 1:9 Denn ihr wartet wohl auf viel, und siehe, es wird wenig; und ob ihr's schon heimbringt, so zerstäube ich's doch. Warum das? spricht der HERR Zebaoth. Darum daß mein Haus so wüst steht und ein jeglicher eilt auf sein Haus.(dhs) Hag 1:9 "You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?" says the Lord of hosts. "Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:10 ============ Hag 1:10 Therefore, because of you the sky has withheld its dew and the earth has withheld its produce.(nas) Hag 1:10 διὰ τοῦτο ἀνέξει ὁ οὐρανὸς ἀπὸ δρόσου καὶ ἡ γῆ ὑποστελεῖται τὰ ἐκφόρια αὐτῆς (lxx) Hag 1:10 Propter hoc super vos prohibiti sunt cæli ne darent rorem, et terra prohibita est ne daret germen suum:(vulgate) 10 ׃1 עַל־כֵּ֣ן עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם כָּלְא֥וּ שָ[c]מַ֖יִם מִטָּ֑ל וְהָאָ֖רֶץ כָּלְאָ֥ה יְבוּלָֽהּ׃ Haggai Hag 1:10 Darum hat der Himmel über euch den Tau verhalten und das Erdreich sein Gewächs.(dhs) Hag 1:10 Therefore the heavens above you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit.(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:11 ============ Hag 1:11 I called for a drought on the land, on the mountains, on the grain, on the new wine, on the oil, on what the ground produces, on men, on cattle, and on all the labor of your hands."(nas) Hag 1:11 καὶ ἐπάξω ῥομφαίαν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν σῖτον καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶνον καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ἔλαιον καὶ ὅσα ἐκφέρει ἡ γῆ καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς πόνους τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν (lxx) Hag 1:11 et vocavi siccitatem super terram, et super montes, et super triticum, et super vinum, et super oleum, et quæcumque profert humus, et super homines, et super jumenta, et super omnem laborem manuum.](vulgate) 11 ׃1 וָאֶקְרָ֨א חֹ֜רֶב עַל־הָאָ֣רֶץ וְעַל־הֶהָרִ֗ים וְעַל־הַדָּגָן֙ וְעַל־הַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ וְעַל־הַיִּצְהָ֔ר וְעַ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר תּוֹצִ֖יא הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְעַל־הָֽאָדָם֙ וְעַל־הַבְּהֵמָ֔ה וְעַ֖ל כָּל־יְגִ֥יעַ כַּפָּֽיִם׃ ס Haggai Hag 1:11 Und ich habe die Dürre gerufen über Land und Berge, über Korn, Most, Öl und über alles, was aus der Erde kommt, auch über Leute und Vieh und über alle Arbeit der Hände.(dhs) Hag 1:11 For I called for a drought on the land and the mountains, on the grain and the new wine and the oil, on whatever the ground brings forth, on men and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands."(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:12 ============ Hag 1:12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him. And the people showed reverence for the Lord.(nas) Hag 1:12 καὶ ἤκουσεν Ζοροβαβελ ὁ τοῦ Σαλαθιηλ ἐκ φυλῆς Ιουδα καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ιωσεδεκ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας καὶ πάντες οἱ κατάλοιποι τοῦ λαοῦ τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν λόγων Αγγαιου τοῦ προφήτου καθότι ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτὸν κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτῶν πρὸς αὐτούς καὶ ἐφοβήθη ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου (lxx) Hag 1:12 Et audivit Zorobabel, filius Salathiel, et Jesus, filius Josedec, sacerdos magnus, et omnes reliquiæ populi, vocem Domini Dei sui, et verba Aggæi prophetæ, sicut misit eum Dominus Deus eorum ad eos, et timuit populus a facie Domini.(vulgate) 12 ׃1 וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע זְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל ׀ בֶּֽן־שַׁלְתִּיאֵ֡ל וִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בֶּן־יְהוֹצָדָק֩ הַכֹּהֵ֨ן הַגָּד֜וֹל וְכֹ֣ל ׀ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית הָעָ֗ם בְּקוֹל֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֔ם וְעַל־דִּבְרֵי֙ חַגַּ֣י הַנָּבִ֔יא כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר שְׁלָח֖וֹ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּֽירְא֥וּ הָעָ֖ם מִפְּנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ Haggai Hag 1:12 Da gehorchte Serubabel, der Sohn Sealthiels, und Josua, der Sohn Jozadaks, der Hohepriester, und alle übrigen des Volkes solcher Stimme des HERRN, ihres Gottes, und den Worten des Propheten Haggai, wie ihn der HERR, ihr Gott, gesandt hatte; und das Volk fürchtete sich vor dem HERRN.(dhs) Hag 1:12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the Lord.(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:13 ============ Hag 1:13 Then Haggai, the messenger of the Lord, spoke by the commission of the Lord to the people saying, "'I am with you,' declares the Lord."(nas) Hag 1:13 καὶ εἶπεν Αγγαιος ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου τῷ λαῷ ἐγώ εἰμι μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν λέγει κύριος (lxx) Hag 1:13 Et dixit Aggæus, nuntius Domini de nuntiis Domini, populo dicens: Ego vobiscum sum, dicit Dominus.(vulgate) 13 ׃1 וַ֠יֹּאמֶר חַגַּ֞י מַלְאַ֧ךְ יְהוָ֛ה בְּמַלְאֲכ֥וּת יְהוָ֖ה לָעָ֣ם לֵאמֹ֑ר אֲנִ֥י אִתְּכֶ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Haggai Hag 1:13 Da sprach Haggai, der Engel des HERRN, der die Botschaft des HERRN hatte an das Volk: Ich bin mit euch, spricht der HERR.(dhs) Hag 1:13 Then Haggai, the Lord's messenger, spoke the Lord's message to the people, saying, "I am with you, says the Lord."(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:14 ============ Hag 1:14 So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,(nas) Hag 1:14 καὶ ἐξήγειρεν κύριος τὸ πνεῦμα Ζοροβαβελ τοῦ Σαλαθιηλ ἐκ φυλῆς Ιουδα καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Ιωσεδεκ τοῦ ἱερέως τοῦ μεγάλου καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα τῶν καταλοίπων παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ εἰσῆλθον καὶ ἐποίουν ἔργα ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου παντοκράτορος θεοῦ αὐτῶν (lxx) Hag 1:14 Et suscitavit Dominus spiritum Zorobabel, filii Salathiel, ducis Juda, et spiritum Jesu, filii Josedec, sacerdotis magni, et spiritum reliquorum de omni populo: et ingressi sunt, et faciebant opus in domo Domini exercituum, Dei sui.(vulgate) 14 ׃1 וַיָּ֣עַר יְהוָ֡ה אֶת־רוּחַ֩ זְרֻבָּבֶ֨ל בֶּן־שַׁלְתִּיאֵ֜ל פַּחַ֣ת יְהוּדָ֗ה וְאֶת־ר֙וּחַ֙ יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ בֶּן־יְהוֹצָדָק֙ הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּד֔וֹל וְֽאֶת־ר֔וּחַ כֹּ֖ל שְׁאֵרִ֣ית הָעָ֑ם וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ וַיַּעֲשׂ֣וּ מְלָאכָ֔ה בְּבֵית־יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ פ Haggai Hag 1:14 Und der HERR erweckte den Geist Serubabels, des Sohnes Sealthiels, des Fürsten Juda's, und den Geist Josuas, des Sohnes Jozadaks, des Hohenpriesters, und den Geist des ganzen übrigen Volkes, daß sie kamen und arbeiteten am Hause des HERRN Zebaoth, ihres Gottes,(dhs) Hag 1:14 So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,(nkjv) ======= Haggai 1:15 ============ Hag 1:15 on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month in the second year of Darius the king.(nas) Hag 1:15 τῇ τετράδι καὶ εἰκάδι τοῦ μηνὸς τοῦ ἕκτου τῷ δευτέρῳ ἔτει ἐπὶ Δαρείου τοῦ βασιλέως (lxx) Hag 1:15 In die vigesima et quarta mensis, in sexto mense, in anno secundo Darii regis.~(vulgate) 15 ׃1 בְּי֨וֹם עֶשְׂרִ֧ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֛ה לַחֹ֖דֶשׁ בַּשִּׁשִּׁ֑י בִּשְׁנַ֥ת שְׁתַּ֖יִם לְדָרְיָ֥וֶשׁ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ Haggai Hag 1:15 am vierundzwanzigsten Tage des sechsten Monats, im zweiten Jahr des Königs Darius.(dhs) Hag 1:15 on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of King Darius.(nkjv) ======= Haggai 2:1 ============ top of the page
