Today's Date: ======= Acts 3:1 ============ Act 3:1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer.(nas) Act 3:1 πέτρος δὲ καὶ ἰωάννης ἀνέβαινον εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἐπὶ τὴν ὥραν τῆς προσευχῆς τὴν ἐνάτην. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:1 Petrus autem et Joannes ascendebant in templum ad horam orationis nonam.(vulgate) וּפֶטְרוֹס וְיוֹחָנָן עָלוּ אֶל־בֵּית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ לְעֵת הַתְּפִילָּה בַּשָּׁעָה הַתְּשִׁיעִית׃ א Acts Act 3:1 Petrus aber und Johannes gingen miteinander hinauf in den Tempel um die neunte Stunde, da man pflegt zu beten.(dhs) Act 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:2 ============ Act 3:2 And a man who had been lame from his mother's womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms of those who were entering the temple.(nas) Act 3:2 καί τις ἀνὴρ χωλὸς ἐκ κοιλίας μητρὸς αὐτοῦ ὑπάρχων ἐβαστάζετο, ὃν ἐτίθουν καθ᾽ ἡμέραν πρὸς τὴν θύραν τοῦ ἱεροῦ τὴν λεγομένην ὡραίαν τοῦ αἰτεῖν ἐλεημοσύνην παρὰ τῶν εἰσπορευομένων εἰς τὸ ἱερόν· (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:2 Et quidam vir, qui erat claudus ex utero matris suæ, bajulabatur: quem ponebant quotidie ad portam templi, quæ dicitur Speciosa, ut peteret eleemosynam ab introëuntibus in templum.(vulgate) וְאִישׁ פִּסֵּחַ מִבֶּטֶן אִמּוֹ הוּבָא שָׁמָּה אֲשֶׁר הוֹשִׁיבֻהוּ יוֹם יוֹם לִפְנֵי שַׁעַר הַהֵיכָל הַנִּקְרָא שַׁעַר הַתִּפְאֶרֶת לְבַקֵּשׁ נְדָבוֹת מִיַּד בָּאֵי הַהֵיכָל׃ ב Acts Act 3:2 Und es war ein Mann, lahm von Mutterleibe, der ließ sich tragen; und sie setzten ihn täglich vor des Tempels Tür, die da heißt "die schöne", daß er bettelte das Almosen von denen, die in den Tempel gingen.(dhs) Act 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:3 ============ Act 3:3 When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms.(nas) Act 3:3 ὃς ἰδὼν πέτρον καὶ ἰωάννην μέλλοντας εἰσιέναι εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν ἠρώτα ἐλεημοσύνην λαβεῖν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:3 Is cum vidisset Petrum et Joannem incipientes introire in templum, rogabat ut eleemosynam acciperet.(vulgate) וּבִרְאֹתוֹ אֶת־פֶּטְרוֹס וְאֵת־יוֹחָנָן בָּאִים אֶל־הַהֵיכָל וַיְבַקֵּשׁ מִיָּדָם נְדָבָה׃ ג Acts Act 3:3 Da er nun sah Petrus und Johannes, daß sie wollten zum Tempel hineingehen, bat er um ein Almosen.(dhs) Act 3:3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:4 ============ Act 3:4 But Peter, along with John, fixed his gaze on him and said, "Look at us!"(nas) Act 3:4 ἀτενίσας δὲ πέτρος εἰς αὐτὸν σὺν τῶ ἰωάννῃ εἶπεν, βλέψον εἰς ἡμᾶς. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:4 Intuens autem in eum Petrus cum Joanne, dixit: Respice in nos.(vulgate) וַיָּשֶׂם פֶּטְרוֹס אֶת־עֵינָיו עָלָיו וְכֵן גַּם־יוֹחָנָן וַיֹּאמַר הַבִּיטָה אֵלֵינוּ׃ ד Acts Act 3:4 Petrus aber sah ihn an mit Johannes und sprach: Sieh uns an!(dhs) Act 3:4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us."(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:5 ============ Act 3:5 And he began to give them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.(nas) Act 3:5 ὁ δὲ ἐπεῖχεν αὐτοῖς προσδοκῶν τι παρ᾽ αὐτῶν λαβεῖν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:5 At ille intendebat in eos, sperans se aliquid accepturum ab eis.(vulgate) וַיִּפֶן אֲלֵיהֶם בְּתֹחַלְתּוֹ כִּי יַשִּׂיג מִיָּדָם מְאוּמָה׃ ה Acts Act 3:5 Und er sah sie an, wartete, daß er etwas von ihnen empfinge.(dhs) Act 3:5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:6 ============ Act 3:6 But Peter said, "I do not possess silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene--walk!"(nas) Act 3:6 εἶπεν δὲ πέτρος, ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον οὐχ ὑπάρχει μοι, ὃ δὲ ἔχω τοῦτό σοι δίδωμι· ἐν τῶ ὀνόματι ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ τοῦ ναζωραίου [ἔγειρε καὶ] περιπάτει. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:6 Petrus autem dixit: Argentum et aurum non est mihi: quod autem habeo, hoc tibi do: in nomine Jesu Christi Nazareni surge, et ambula.(vulgate) וַיֹּאמֶר פֶּטְרוֹס כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב אֵין־לִי אֲבָל אֵת אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדִי אֶתֶּן־לָךְ בְּשֵׁם־יֵשׁוּעַ הַמָּשִׁיחַ הַנָּצְרִי קוּם וְהִתְהַלֵּךְ׃ ו Acts Act 3:6 Petrus aber sprach: Gold und Silber habe ich nicht; was ich aber habe, das gebe ich dir: Im Namen Jesu Christi von Nazareth stehe auf und wandle!(dhs) Act 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:7 ============ Act 3:7 And seizing him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.(nas) Act 3:7 καὶ πιάσας αὐτὸν τῆς δεξιᾶς χειρὸς ἤγειρεν αὐτόν· παραχρῆμα δὲ ἐστερεώθησαν αἱ βάσεις αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ σφυδρά, (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:7 Et apprehensa manu ejus dextera, allevavit eum, et protinus consolidatæ sunt bases ejus et plantæ.(vulgate) וַיֶּאֱחֹז בְּיַד יְמִינוֹ וַיְקִימֵהוּ וּפִתְאֹם הִתְחַזְּקוּ רַגְלָיו וְקַרְסֻלָּיו׃ ז Acts Act 3:7 Und griff ihn bei der rechten Hand und richtete ihn auf. Alsobald standen seine Schenkel und Knöchel fest;(dhs) Act 3:7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:8 ============ Act 3:8 With a leap he stood upright and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.(nas) Act 3:8 καὶ ἐξαλλόμενος ἔστη καὶ περιεπάτει, καὶ εἰσῆλθεν σὺν αὐτοῖς εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν περιπατῶν καὶ ἁλλόμενος καὶ αἰνῶν τὸν θεόν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:8 Et exiliens stetit, et ambulabat: et intravit cum illis in templum ambulans, et exiliens, et laudans Deum.(vulgate) וַיְדַלֵּג מִתַּחְתָּיו וַיַּעֲמֹד וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ וַיָּבֹא עִמָּהֶם אֵל־הַהֵיכָל הוֹלֵךְ וּמְדַלֵּג וּמְשִׁבֵּחַ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים׃ ח Acts Act 3:8 sprang auf, konnte gehen und stehen und ging mit ihnen in den Tempel, wandelte und sprang und lobte Gott.(dhs) Act 3:8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:9 ============ Act 3:9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God;(nas) Act 3:9 καὶ εἶδεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς αὐτὸν περιπατοῦντα καὶ αἰνοῦντα τὸν θεόν, (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:9 Et vidit omnis populus eum ambulantem et laudantem Deum.(vulgate) וַיִּרְאֵהוּ כָל־הָעָם מִתְהַלֵּךְ וּמְשַׁבֵּחַ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים׃ ט Acts Act 3:9 Und es sah ihn alles Volk wandeln und Gott loben.(dhs) Act 3:9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:10 ============ Act 3:10 and they were taking note of him as being the one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple to beg alms, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.(nas) Act 3:10 ἐπεγίνωσκον δὲ αὐτὸν ὅτι αὐτὸς ἦν ὁ πρὸς τὴν ἐλεημοσύνην καθήμενος ἐπὶ τῇ ὡραίᾳ πύλῃ τοῦ ἱεροῦ, καὶ ἐπλήσθησαν θάμβους καὶ ἐκστάσεως ἐπὶ τῶ συμβεβηκότι αὐτῶ. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:10 Cognoscebant autem illum, quod ipse erat qui ad eleemosynam sedebat ad Speciosam portam templi: et impleti sunt stupore et extasi in eo quod contigerat illi.(vulgate) וַיַּכִּירוּ אֹתוֹ כִּי הוּא זֶה הַיּשֵׁב לִפְנֵי הַהֵיכָל לִפְנֵי שַׁעַר הַתִּפְאֶרֶת לְבַקֵּשׁ נְדָבוֹת וַיִּמָּלְאוּ תִמָּהוֹן וּפַלָּצוּת עַל־אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשָׂה לּוֹ׃ י Acts Act 3:10 Sie kannten ihn auch, daß er's war, der um Almosen gesessen hatte vor der schönen Tür des Tempels; und sie wurden voll Wunderns und Entsetzens über das, was ihm widerfahren war.(dhs) Act 3:10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:11 ============ Act 3:11 While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the so-called portico of Solomon, full of amazement.(nas) Act 3:11 κρατοῦντος δὲ αὐτοῦ τὸν πέτρον καὶ τὸν ἰωάννην συνέδραμεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τῇ στοᾷ τῇ καλουμένῃ σολομῶντος ἔκθαμβοι. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:11 Cum teneret autem Petrum et Joannem, cucurrit omnis populus ad eos ad porticum quæ appellatur Salomonis, stupentes.~(vulgate) וְהוּא כִי דָבַק אַחֲרֵי פֶטְרוֹס וְיוֹחָנָן וְכָל־הָעָם רָצוּ אֲלֵיהֶם אֶל־הָאוּלָם הַנִּקְרָא אוּלָם שְׁלֹמֹה וַיָּשֹׁמּוּ עַד־מְאֹד׃ יא Acts Act 3:11 Als aber dieser Lahme, der nun gesund war, sich zu Petrus und Johannes hielt, lief alles Volk zu ihnen in die Halle, die da heißt Salomos, und wunderten sich.(dhs) Act 3:11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon's, greatly amazed.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:12 ============ Act 3:12 But when Peter saw this, he replied to the people, "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why do you gaze at us, as if by our own power or piety we had made him walk?(nas) Act 3:12 ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ πέτρος ἀπεκρίνατο πρὸς τὸν λαόν, ἄνδρες ἰσραηλῖται, τί θαυμάζετε ἐπὶ τούτῳ, ἢ ἡμῖν τί ἀτενίζετε ὡς ἰδίᾳ δυνάμει ἢ εὐσεβείᾳ πεποιηκόσιν τοῦ περιπατεῖν αὐτόν; (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:12 Videns autem Petrus, respondit ad populum: Viri Israëlitæ, quid miramini in hoc, aut nos quid intuemini, quasi nostra virtute aut potestate fecerimus hunc ambulare?(vulgate) וַיַּרְא פֶּטְרוֹס וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הָעָם אַנְשֵׁי יִשְׂרָאֵל לָמָּה תִשְׁתּוֹמְמוּ עַל־זֹאת וְלָמָּה תַבִּיטוּ אֵלֵינוּ כְּאִלּוּ הוּא מִתְהַלֵּךְ בְּכֹחֵנוּ אוֹ בְצִדְקָתֵנוּ׃ יב Acts Act 3:12 Als Petrus das sah, antwortete er dem Volk: Ihr Männer von Israel, was wundert ihr euch darüber, oder was sehet ihr auf uns, als hätten wir diesen wandeln gemacht durch unsere eigene Kraft oder Verdienst?(dhs) Act 3:12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:13 ============ Act 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, the one whom you delivered and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.(nas) Act 3:13 ὁ θεὸς ἀβραὰμ καὶ [ὁ θεὸς] ἰσαὰκ καὶ [ὁ θεὸς] ἰακώβ, ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν, ἐδόξασεν τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ ἰησοῦν, ὃν ὑμεῖς μὲν παρεδώκατε καὶ ἠρνήσασθε κατὰ πρόσωπον πιλάτου, κρίναντος ἐκείνου ἀπολύειν· (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:13 Deus Abraham, et Deus Isaac, et Deus Jacob, Deus patrum nostrorum glorificavit filium suum Jesum, quem vos quidem tradidistis, et negastis ante faciem Pilati, judicante illo dimitti.(vulgate) אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיַעֲקֹב אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ הִגְדִּיל כְּבוֹד יֵשׁוּעַ עַבְדּוֹ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם הִסְגַּרְתֶּם אֹתוֹ וְכִחַשְׁתֶּם בּוֹ לִפְנֵי פִילָטוֹס כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁפַט לְשַׁלְּחוֹ לַחָפְשִׁי׃ יג Acts Act 3:13 Der Gott Abrahams und Isaaks und Jakobs, der Gott unserer Väter, hat seinen Knecht Jesus verklärt, welchen ihr überantwortet und verleugnet habt vor Pilatus, da der urteilte, ihn loszulassen.(dhs) Act 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:14 ============ Act 3:14 But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,(nas) Act 3:14 ὑμεῖς δὲ τὸν ἅγιον καὶ δίκαιον ἠρνήσασθε, καὶ ᾐτήσασθε ἄνδρα φονέα χαρισθῆναι ὑμῖν, (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:14 Vos autem sanctum et justum negastis, et petistis virum homicidam donari vobis:(vulgate) וְאַתֶּם כִּחַשְׁתֶּם בַּקָּדוֹשׁ וּבַצַדִּיק וּשְׁאֶלְתֶּם כִּי־יֻחַן לָכֶם אִישׁ רֹצֵחַ׃ יד Acts Act 3:14 Ihr aber verleugnetet den Heiligen und Gerechten und batet, daß man euch den Mörder schenkte;(dhs) Act 3:14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:15 ============ Act 3:15 but put to death the Prince of life, the one whom God raised from the dead, a fact to which we are witnesses.(nas) Act 3:15 τὸν δὲ ἀρχηγὸν τῆς ζωῆς ἀπεκτείνατε, ὃν ὁ θεὸς ἤγειρεν ἐκ νεκρῶν, οὖ ἡμεῖς μάρτυρές ἐσμεν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:15 auctorem vero vitæ interfecistis, quem Deus suscitavit a mortuis, cujus nos testes sumus.(vulgate) וְאֶת־שַׂר הַחַיִּים הֲרַגְתֶּם אֲשֶׁר אֱלֹהִים הֵקִים אֹתוֹ מִן־הַמֵּתִים וַאֲנַחְנוּ עֵדָיו׃ טו Acts Act 3:15 aber den Fürsten des Lebens habt ihr getötet. Den hat Gott auferweckt von den Toten; des sind wir Zeugen.(dhs) Act 3:15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:16 ============ Act 3:16 And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.(nas) Act 3:16 καὶ ἐπὶ τῇ πίστει τοῦ ὀνόματος αὐτοῦ τοῦτον ὃν θεωρεῖτε καὶ οἴδατε ἐστερέωσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἡ πίστις ἡ δι᾽ αὐτοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτῶ τὴν ὁλοκληρίαν ταύτην ἀπέναντι πάντων ὑμῶν. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:16 Et in fide nominis ejus, hunc quem vos vidistis et nostis, confirmavit nomen ejus: et fides, quæ per eum est, dedit integram sanitatem istam in conspectu omnium vestrum.(vulgate) וּבֶאֱמוּנָתֵנוּ בִשְׁמוֹ שְׁמוֹ נָתַן כֹּחַ לָאִישׁ הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם רֹאִים וּמַכִּירִים כִּי עַל־יָדוֹ נָתְנָה־לּוֹ אֱמוּנָתֵנוּ מַרְפֵּא לְעַצְמוֹתָיו לְעֵינֵי כֻלְּכֶם׃ טז Acts Act 3:16 Und durch den Glauben an seinen Namen hat diesen, den ihr sehet und kennet, sein Name stark gemacht; und der Glaube durch ihn hat diesem gegeben diese Gesundheit vor euren Augen.(dhs) Act 3:16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:17 ============ Act 3:17 "And now, brethren, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers did also.(nas) Act 3:17 καὶ νῦν, ἀδελφοί, οἶδα ὅτι κατὰ ἄγνοιαν ἐπράξατε, ὥσπερ καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες ὑμῶν· (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:17 Et nunc, fratres, scio quia per ignorantiam fecistis, sicut et principes vestri.(vulgate) וְעַתָּה אֶחָי יָדַעְתִּי כִּי בִּבְלִי־דַעַת עֲשִׂיתֶם גַּם־אַתֶּם גַּם־שָׂרֵיכֶם׃ יז Acts Act 3:17 Nun, liebe Brüder, ich weiß, daß ihr's durch Unwissenheit getan habt wie auch eure Obersten.(dhs) Act 3:17 Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:18 ============ Act 3:18 But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.(nas) Act 3:18 ὁ δὲ θεὸς ἃ προκατήγγειλεν διὰ στόματος πάντων τῶν προφητῶν παθεῖν τὸν χριστὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπλήρωσεν οὕτως. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:23 Erit autem: omnis anima quæ non audierit prophetam illum, exterminabitur de plebe.(vulgate) וְהָיָה כָּל־הַנֶּפֶשׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־תִשְׁמַע אֶל־הַנָּבִיא הַהוּא וְנִכְרְתָה מֵעַמֶּיהָ׃ כג Acts Act 3:23 Und es wird geschehen, welche Seele denselben Propheten nicht hören wird, die soll vertilgt werden aus dem Volk."(dhs) Act 3:23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.'(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:24 ============ Act 3:24 And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and his successors onward, also announced these days.(nas) Act 3:24 καὶ πάντες δὲ οἱ προφῆται ἀπὸ σαμουὴλ καὶ τῶν καθεξῆς ὅσοι ἐλάλησαν καὶ κατήγγειλαν τὰς ἡμέρας ταύτας. (Nestle-Aland) Act 3:24 Et omnes prophetæ, a Samuel et deinceps, qui locuti sunt, annuntiaverunt dies istos.(vulgate) וְגַם כָּל־הַנְּבִיאִים מִשְּׁמוּאֵל וְהַבָּאִים אַחֲרָיו אֲשֶׁר נִבָּאוּ כֻּלָּם הִגִּידוּ דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים הָאֵלֶּה׃ כד Acts Act 3:24 Und alle Propheten von Samuel an und hernach, wieviel ihrer geredet haben, die haben von diesen Tagen verkündigt.(dhs) Act 3:24 Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days.(nkjv) ======= Acts 3:25 ============ Act 3:25 It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.'(nas) Act 3:25 ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν προφητῶν καὶ τῆς διαθήκης ἧς διέθετο ὁ θεὸς πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας ὑμῶν, λέγων πρὸς ἀβραάμ, καὶ ἐν τῶ σπέρματί σου [ἐν]ευλογηθήσονται πᾶσαι αἱ πατριαὶ τῆς γῆς.
