Today's Date: ======= Revelation 4:1 ============ Rev 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."(nas) Rev 4:1 μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ θύρα ἠνεῳγμένη ἐν τῶ οὐρανῶ, καὶ ἡ φωνὴ ἡ πρώτη ἣν ἤκουσα ὡς σάλπιγγος λαλούσης μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ λέγων, ἀνάβα ὧδε, καὶ δείξω σοι ἃ δεῖ γενέσθαι μετὰ ταῦτα. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:2 ============ Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne.(nas) Rev 4:2 εὐθέως ἐγενόμην ἐν πνεύματι· καὶ ἰδοὺ θρόνος ἔκειτο ἐν τῶ οὐρανῶ, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον καθήμενος, (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:2 Et statim fui in spiritu: et ecce sedes posita erat in cælo, et supra sedem sedens.(vulgate) וַתָּנַח עָלַי הָרוּחַ כְּרָגַע וְהִנֵּה כִסֵּא נִצָּב בַּשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶחָד ישֵׁב עַל־הַכִּסֵּא׃ ב Revelation Rev 4:2 Und alsobald war ich im Geist. Und siehe, ein Stuhl war gesetzt im Himmel, und auf dem Stuhl saß einer;(dhs) Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:3 ============ Rev 4:3 And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.(nas) Rev 4:3 καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ὅμοιος ὁράσει λίθῳ ἰάσπιδι καὶ σαρδίῳ, καὶ ἶρις κυκλόθεν τοῦ θρόνου ὅμοιος ὁράσει σμαραγδίνῳ. (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:3 Et qui sedebat similis erat aspectui lapidis jaspidis, et sardinis: et iris erat in circuitu sedis similis visioni smaragdinæ.(vulgate) וְהַיּשֵׁב הַהוּא כְּמַרְאֵה אֶבֶן יָשְׁפֶה כְּאֶבֶן אֹדֶם וְקֶשֶׁת סָבִיב לַכִּסֵּא כְּעֵין בָּרָקֶת׃ ג Revelation Rev 4:3 und der dasaß, war gleich anzusehen wie der Stein Jaspis und Sarder; und ein Regenbogen war um den Stuhl, gleich anzusehen wie ein Smaragd.(dhs) Rev 4:3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:4 ============ Rev 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads.(nas) Rev 4:4 καὶ κυκλόθεν τοῦ θρόνου θρόνους εἴκοσι τέσσαρες, καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς θρόνους εἴκοσι τέσσαρας πρεσβυτέρους καθημένους περιβεβλημένους ἐν ἱματίοις λευκοῖς, καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν στεφάνους χρυσοῦς. (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:4 Et in circuitu sedis sedilia viginti quatuor: et super thronos viginti quatuor seniores sedentes, circumamicti vestimentis albis, et in capitibus eorum coronæ aureæ.(vulgate) וְעֶשְׂרִים וְאַרְבָּעָה כִסְאוֹת עֹמְדִים אֶל־הַכִּסֵּא מִסָּבִיב וְעַל־הַכִּסְאוֹת רָאִיתִי עֶשְׂרִים וְאַרְבָּעָה זְקֵנִים ישְׁבִים מְלֻבָּשִׁים בְּגָדִים לְבָנִים וְעַטְרוֹת זָהָב בְּרָאשֵׁיהֶם׃ ד Revelation Rev 4:4 Und um den Stuhl waren vierundzwanzig Stühle, und auf den Stühlen saßen vierundzwanzig Älteste, mit weißen Kleidern angetan, und hatten auf ihren Häuptern goldene Kronen.(dhs) Rev 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads.(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:5 ============ Rev 4:5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God;(nas) Rev 4:5 καὶ ἐκ τοῦ θρόνου ἐκπορεύονται ἀστραπαὶ καὶ φωναὶ καὶ βρονταί· καὶ ἑπτὰ λαμπάδες πυρὸς καιόμεναι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου, ἅ εἰσιν τὰ ἑπτὰ πνεύματα τοῦ θεοῦ, (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:5 Et de throno procedebant fulgura, et voces, et tonitrua: et septem lampades ardentes ante thronum, qui sunt septem spiritus Dei.(vulgate) וּמִתּוֹךְ הַכִּסֵּא יֹצֵא בָרָק רַעַם וְרַעַשׁ וְשִׁבְעָה לַפִּידִים בֹּעֲרִים לִפְנֵי הַכִּסֵּא אֲשֶׁר־הֵם שִׁבְעָה רוּחוֹת הָאֳלֹהִים׃ ה Revelation Rev 4:5 Und von dem Stuhl gingen aus Blitze, Donner und Stimmen; und sieben Fackeln mit Feuer brannten vor dem Stuhl, welches sind die sieben Geister Gottes.(dhs) Rev 4:5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:6 ============ Rev 4:6 and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.(nas) Rev 4:6 καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου ὡς θάλασσα ὑαλίνη ὁμοία κρυστάλλῳ. καὶ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου τέσσαρα ζῶα γέμοντα ὀφθαλμῶν ἔμπροσθεν καὶ ὄπισθεν· (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:6 Et in conspectu sedis tamquam mare vitreum simile crystallo: et in medio sedis, et in circuitu sedis quatuor animalia plena oculis ante et retro.(vulgate) וְלִפְנֵי הַכִּסֵּא יַם זְכוֹכִית כְּעֵין הַקָּרַח וּבְתוֹךְ הַכִּסֵּא וְסָבִיב לוֹ אַרְבַּע חַיּוֹת מְלֵאוֹת עֵינַיִם מִפָּנִים וּמֵאָחוֹר׃ ו Revelation Rev 4:6 Und vor dem Stuhl war ein gläsernes Meer gleich dem Kristall, und mitten am Stuhl und um den Stuhl vier Tiere, voll Augen vorn und hinten.(dhs) Rev 4:6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back.(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:7 ============ Rev 4:7 The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle.(nas) Rev 4:7 καὶ τὸ ζῶον τὸ πρῶτον ὅμοιον λέοντι, καὶ τὸ δεύτερον ζῶον ὅμοιον μόσχῳ, καὶ τὸ τρίτον ζῶον ἔχων τὸ πρόσωπον ὡς ἀνθρώπου, καὶ τὸ τέταρτον ζῶον ὅμοιον ἀετῶ πετομένῳ. (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:7 Et animal primum simile leoni, et secundum animal simile vitulo, et tertium animal habens faciem quasi hominis, et quartum animal simile aquilæ volanti.(vulgate) דְּמוּת הַחַיָּה הָרִאשׁוֹנָה כְּאַרְיֵה וְהַחַיָּה הַשֵּׁנִית כְּעֵגֶל וְהַחַיָּה הַשְּׁלִישִׁית פָּנִים לָהּ כִּפְנֵי אָדָם וּדְמוּת הַחַיָּה הָרְבִיעִית כְּנֶשֶׁר מְעוֹפֵף׃ ז Revelation Rev 4:7 Und das erste Tier war gleich einem Löwen, und das andere Tier war gleich einem Kalbe, das dritte hatte ein Antlitz wie ein Mensch, und das vierte Tier war gleich einem fliegenden Adler.(dhs) Rev 4:7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:8 ============ Rev 4:8 And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME."(nas) Rev 4:8 καὶ τὰ τέσσαρα ζῶα, ἓν καθ᾽ ἓν αὐτῶν ἔχων ἀνὰ πτέρυγας ἕξ, κυκλόθεν καὶ ἔσωθεν γέμουσιν ὀφθαλμῶν· καὶ ἀνάπαυσιν οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς λέγοντες, ἅγιος ἅγιος ἅγιος κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὁ παντοκράτωρ, ὁ ἦν καὶ ὁ ὢν καὶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος. (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:8 Et quatuor animalia, singula eorum habebant alas senas: et in circuitu, et intus plena sunt oculis: et requiem non habebant die ac nocte, dicentia: Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus omnipotens, qui erat, et qui est, et qui venturus est.(vulgate) וְאַרְבַּע הַחַיּוֹת שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם לְאֶחָת וְהֵן מְלֵאוֹת עֵינַיִם מִסָּבִיב וּמִלִּפְנִים וְהַשְׁקֵט אֵין לָהֵן יוֹמָם לָיְלָה כִּי קֹרְאוֹת קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ יְהוָֹה אֱלֹהֵי צְבָאוֹת אֲשֶׁר הוּא הָיָה הוֶֹה וְעָתִיד לָבֹא׃ ח Revelation Rev 4:8 Und ein jegliches der vier Tiere hatte sechs Flügel, und sie waren außenherum und inwendig voll Augen und hatten keine Ruhe Tag und Nacht und sprachen: Heilig, heilig, heilig ist Gott der HERR, der Allmächtige, der da war und der da ist und der da kommt!(dhs) Rev 4:8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!"(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:9 ============ Rev 4:9 And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever,(nas) Rev 4:9 καὶ ὅταν δώσουσιν τὰ ζῶα δόξαν καὶ τιμὴν καὶ εὐχαριστίαν τῶ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τῶ θρόνῳ, τῶ ζῶντι εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων, (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:9 Et cum darent illa animalia gloriam, et honorem, et benedictionem sedenti super thronum, viventi in sæcula sæculorum,(vulgate) וּלְעֵת הַחַיּוֹת נֹתְנוֹת הוֹד וְהָדָר וְשֶׁבַח לַיּשֵׁב עַל־הַכִּסֵּא אֲשֶׁר־הוּא חַי עַד־עוֹלְמֵי עוֹלָמִים׃ ט Revelation Rev 4:9 Und da die Tiere gaben Preis und Ehre und Dank dem, der da auf dem Stuhl saß, der da lebt von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit,(dhs) Rev 4:9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:10 ============ Rev 4:10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying,(nas) Rev 4:10 πεσοῦνται οἱ εἴκοσι τέσσαρες πρεσβύτεροι ἐνώπιον τοῦ καθημένου ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ προσκυνήσουσιν τῶ ζῶντι εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων, καὶ βαλοῦσιν τοὺς στεφάνους αὐτῶν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου λέγοντες, (Nestle-Aland) Rev 4:10 procidebant viginti quatuor seniores ante sedentem in throno, et adorabant viventem in sæcula sæculorum, et mittebant coronas suas ante thronum, dicentes:(vulgate) כֵּן יִפְּלוּ הָעֶשְׂרִים וְאַרְבָּעָה הַזְּקֵנִים עַל־פְּנֵיהֶם וּמִשְׁתַּחֲוִים לִפְנֵי הַיּשֵׁב עַל־הַכִּסֵּא אֲשֶׁר הוּא חַי עַד־עוֹלְמֵי עוֹלָמִים וְאֶת־עַטְרוֹתֵיהֶם יָנִיפוּ יוֹרִידוּ אַרְצָה לִפְנֵי הַכִּסֵּא לֵאמֹר׃ י Revelation Rev 4:10 fielen die vierundzwanzig Ältesten nieder vor dem, der auf dem Stuhl saß, und beteten an den, der da lebt von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit, und warfen ihre Kronen vor den Stuhl und sprachen:(dhs) Rev 4:10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:(nkjv) ======= Revelation 4:11 ============ Rev 4:11 "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."(nas) Rev 4:11 ἄξιος εἶ, ὁ κύριος καὶ ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν, λαβεῖν τὴν δόξαν καὶ τὴν τιμὴν καὶ τὴν δύναμιν, ὅτι σὺ ἔκτισας τὰ πάντα, καὶ διὰ τὸ θέλημά σου ἦσαν καὶ ἐκτίσθησαν.
