1 Corinthians 1

1 Cor 1:1 Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
1 Cor 1:2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:
1 Cor 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Cor 1:4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
1 Cor 1:5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge,
1 Cor 1:6 even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you,
1 Cor 1:7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Cor 1:8 who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Cor 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Cor 1:11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you.
1 Cor 1:12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying," I am of Paul," and" I of Apollos," and" I of Cephas," and" I of Christ."
1 Cor 1:13 Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
1 Cor 1:14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
1 Cor 1:15 so that no one would say you were baptized in my name.
1 Cor 1:16 Now I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other.
1 Cor 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void.
1 Cor 1:18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Cor 1:19 For it is written," I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside."
1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
1 Cor 1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
1 Cor 1:22 For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom;
1 Cor 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
1 Cor 1:24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1 Cor 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 Cor 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
1 Cor 1:27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,
1 Cor 1:28 and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,
1 Cor 1:29 so that no man may boast before God.
1 Cor 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
1 Cor 1:31 so that, just as it is written," Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."

1 Cor 1:3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Cor 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 1 Cor 1:4 I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, 1 Cor 1:4 εὐχαριστῶ τῶ θεῶ μου πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τῇ χάριτι τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ δοθείσῃ ὑμῖν ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ,
1 Cor 1:5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 1 Cor 1:5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, 1 Cor 1:5 ὅτι ἐν παντὶ ἐπλουτίσθητε ἐν αὐτῶ, ἐν παντὶ λόγῳ καὶ πάσῃ γνώσει,
1 Cor 1:6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 1 Cor 1:6 even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you, 1 Cor 1:6 καθὼς τὸ μαρτύριον τοῦ χριστοῦ ἐβεβαιώθη ἐν ὑμῖν,
1 Cor 1:7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Cor 1:7 so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Cor 1:7 ὥστε ὑμᾶς μὴ ὑστερεῖσθαι ἐν μηδενὶ χαρίσματι, ἀπεκδεχομένους τὴν ἀποκάλυψιν τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν ἰησοῦ χριστοῦ·
1 Cor 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 1:8 who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor 1:9 God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Cor 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
1 Cor 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 1 Cor 1:11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you.
1 Cor 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 1 Cor 1:12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying," I am of Paul," and" I of Apollos," and" I of Cephas," and" I of Christ." 1 Cor 1:12 λέγω δὲ τοῦτο, ὅτι ἕκαστος ὑμῶν λέγει, ἐγὼ μέν εἰμι παύλου, ἐγὼ δὲ ἀπολλῶ, ἐγὼ δὲ κηφᾶ, ἐγὼ δὲ χριστοῦ.
1 Cor 1:13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor 1:13 Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Cor 1:13 μεμέρισται ὁ χριστός; μὴ παῦλος ἐσταυρώθη ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν, ἢ εἰς τὸ ὄνομα παύλου ἐβαπτίσθητε;
1 Cor 1:14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 1 Cor 1:14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 1 Cor 1:14 εὐχαριστῶ [τῶ θεῶ] ὅτι οὐδένα ὑμῶν ἐβάπτισα εἰ μὴ κρίσπον καὶ γάϊον,
1 Cor 1:15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 1 Cor 1:15 so that no one would say you were baptized in my name.
1 Cor 1:16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 1 Cor 1:16 Now I did baptize also the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any other.
1 Cor 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 1 Cor 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void.
1 Cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Cor 1:18 ὁ λόγος γὰρ ὁ τοῦ σταυροῦ τοῖς μὲν ἀπολλυμένοις μωρία ἐστίν, τοῖς δὲ σῳζομένοις ἡμῖν δύναμις θεοῦ ἐστιν.
1 Cor 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 1 Cor 1:19 For it is written," I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside." 1 Cor 1:19 γέγραπται γάρ, ἀπολῶ τὴν σοφίαν τῶν σοφῶν, καὶ τὴν σύνεσιν τῶν συνετῶν ἀθετήσω.
1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 1 Cor 1:20 ποῦ σοφός; ποῦ γραμματεύς; ποῦ συζητητὴς τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου; οὐχὶ ἐμώρανεν ὁ θεὸς τὴν σοφίαν τοῦ κόσμου;
1 Cor 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1 Cor 1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
1 Cor 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 1 Cor 1:22 For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; 1 Cor 1:22 ἐπειδὴ καὶ ἰουδαῖοι σημεῖα αἰτοῦσιν καὶ ἕλληνες σοφίαν ζητοῦσιν,
1 Cor 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 1 Cor 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 1 Cor 1:23 ἡμεῖς δὲ κηρύσσομεν χριστὸν ἐσταυρωμένον, ἰουδαίοις μὲν σκάνδαλον ἔθνεσιν δὲ μωρίαν,
1 Cor 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 1 Cor 1:24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Cor 1:24 αὐτοῖς δὲ τοῖς κλητοῖς, ἰουδαίοις τε καὶ ἕλλησιν, χριστὸν θεοῦ δύναμιν καὶ θεοῦ σοφίαν·
1 Cor 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Cor 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 Cor 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 1 Cor 1:26 For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; 1 Cor 1:26 βλέπετε γὰρ τὴν κλῆσιν ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοί, ὅτι οὐ πολλοὶ σοφοὶ κατὰ σάρκα, οὐ πολλοὶ δυνατοί, οὐ πολλοὶ εὐγενεῖς·
1 Cor 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1 Cor 1:27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 1 Cor 1:27 ἀλλὰ τὰ μωρὰ τοῦ κόσμου ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεὸς ἵνα καταισχύνῃ τοὺς σοφούς, καὶ τὰ ἀσθενῆ τοῦ κόσμου ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεὸς ἵνα καταισχύνῃ τὰ ἰσχυρά,
1 Cor 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1 Cor 1:28 and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, 1 Cor 1:28 καὶ τὰ ἀγενῆ τοῦ κόσμου καὶ τὰ ἐξουθενημένα ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεός, τὰ μὴ ὄντα, ἵνα τὰ ὄντα καταργήσῃ,
1 Cor 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 1 Cor 1:29 so that no man may boast before God. 1 Cor 1:29 ὅπως μὴ καυχήσηται πᾶσα σὰρξ ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ.
1 Cor 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1 Cor 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, 1 Cor 1:30 ἐξ αὐτοῦ δὲ ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἐν χριστῶ ἰησοῦ, ὃς ἐγενήθη σοφία ἡμῖν ἀπὸ θεοῦ, δικαιοσύνη τε καὶ ἁγιασμὸς καὶ ἀπολύτρωσις,
1 Cor 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Cor 1:31 so that, just as it is written," Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord." 1 Cor 1:31 ἵνα καθὼς γέγραπται, ὁ καυχώμενος ἐν κυρίῳ καυχάσθω.
