Projecit, et versa est in colubrum, ita ut fugeret Moyses.(vulgate) Exodus 4:3 Then said he, Cast it on the ground. So he cast it on the grounde, and it was turned into a serpent: and Moses fled from it.(Geneva) Exo 4:3 Er sprach: Wirf ihn vor dir auf die Erde. So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:4 ============ Exo 4:4 But the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail""so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand"(nas) Exo 4:4 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρα καὶ ἐπιλαβοῦ τῆς κέρκου ἐκτείνας οὖν τὴν χεῖρα ἐπελάβετο τῆς κέρκου καὶ ἐγένετο ῥάβδος ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Exo 4:4 Dixitque Dominus: Extende manum tuam, et apprehende caudam ejus. Extendit, et tenuit, versaque est in virgam.(vulgate) Exodus 4:4 Againe the Lorde saide vnto Moses, Put foorth thine hand, and take it by the tayle. Then he put foorth his hande and caught it, and it was turned into a rod in his hand.(Geneva) Exo 4:4 Aber der HERR sprach zu ihm: Strecke deine Hand aus und erhasche sie bei dem Schwanz. So he put his hand into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous like snow.(nas) Exo 4:6 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ κύριος πάλιν εἰσένεγκε τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰς τὸν κόλπον σου καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐκ τοῦ κόλπου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγενήθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ χιών (lxx) Exo 4:6 Dixitque Dominus rursum: Mitte manum tuam in sinum tuum. Quam cum misisset in sinum, protulit leprosam instar nivis.(vulgate) Exodus 4:6 And the Lorde saide furthermore vnto him, Thrust nowe thine hand into thy bosome; he thrust his hand into his bosome, & when he tooke it out againe, behold, his hand was leprous as snowe.(Geneva) Exo 4:6 Und der HERR sprach weiter zu ihm: Stecke deine Hand in deinen Busen. So he put his hand into his bosom again, and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh.(nas) Exo 4:7 καὶ εἶπεν πάλιν εἰσένεγκε τὴν χεῖρά σου εἰς τὸν κόλπον σου καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν τὴν χεῖρα εἰς τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν αὐτὴν ἐκ τοῦ κόλπου αὐτοῦ καὶ πάλιν ἀπεκατέστη εἰς τὴν χρόαν τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Exo 4:7 Retrahe, ait, manum tuam in sinum tuum. Retraxit, et protulit iterum, et erat similis carni reliquæ.(vulgate) Exodus 4:7 Moreouer he said, Put thine hand into thy bosome againe. So he put his hande into his bosome againe, & pluckt it out of his bosome, and behold, it was turned againe as his other flesh.(Geneva) Exo 4:7 Und er sprach: Tue sie wieder in deinen Busen. Und er tat sie wieder in seinen Busen und zog sie heraus; siehe, da ward sie wieder wie sein anderes Fleisch.(dhs) Exo 4:7 And He said, "Put your hand in your bosom again." So he put his hand in his bosom again, and drew it out of his bosom, and behold, it was restored like his other flesh.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:8 ============ Exo 4:8 "If they will not believe you or heed the witness of the first sign, they may believe the witness of the last sign.(nas) Exo 4:8 ἐὰν δὲ μὴ πιστεύσωσίν σοι μηδὲ εἰσακούσωσιν τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ σημείου τοῦ πρώτου πιστεύσουσίν σοι τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ σημείου τοῦ ἐσχάτου (lxx) Exo 4:8 Si non crediderint, inquit, tibi, neque audierint sermonem signi prioris, credent verbo signi sequentis.(vulgate) Exodus 4:8 So shall it be, if they wil not beleeue thee, neither obey the voyce of ye first signe, yet shall they beleeue for the voyce of the seconde signe.(Geneva) Exo 4:8 Wenn sie dir nun nicht werden glauben noch deine Stimme hören bei dem einen Zeichen, so werden sie doch glauben deine Stimme bei dem andern Zeichen.(dhs) Exo 4:8 "Then it will be, if they do not believe you, nor heed the message of the first sign, that they may believe the message of the latter sign.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:9 ============ Exo 4:9 But if they will not believe even these two signs or heed what you say, then you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground; and the water which you take from the Nile will become blood on the dry ground."(nas) Exo 4:9 καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν μὴ πιστεύσωσίν σοι τοῖς δυσὶ σημείοις τούτοις μηδὲ εἰσακούσωσιν τῆς φωνῆς σου λήμψῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ἐκχεεῖς ἐπὶ τὸ ξηρόν καὶ ἔσται τὸ ὕδωρ ὃ ἐὰν λάβῃς ἀπὸ τοῦ ποταμοῦ αἷμα ἐπὶ τοῦ ξηροῦ (lxx) Exo 4:9 Quod si nec duobus quidem his signis crediderint, neque audierint vocem tuam: sume aquam fluminis, et effunde eam super aridam, et quidquid hauseris de fluvio, vertetur in sanguinem.~(vulgate) Exodus 4:9 But if they will not yet beleeue these two signes, neither obey vnto thy voyce, then shalt thou take of the water of the riuer, and powre it vpon the drie lande: so the water which thou shalt take out of the riuer, shalbe turned to blood vpon the drie land.(Geneva) Exo 4:9 Wenn sie aber diesen zwei Zeichen nicht glauben werden noch deine Stimme hören, so nimm Wasser aus dem Strom und gieß es auf das trockene Land, so wird das Wasser, das du aus dem Strom genommen hast, Blut werden auf dem trockenen Lande.(dhs) Exo 4:9 And it shall be, if they do not believe even these two signs, or listen to your voice, that you shall take water from the river and pour it on the dry land. And the water which you take from the river will become blood on the dry land."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:10 ============ Exo 4:10 Then Moses said to the Lord, "Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."(nas) Exo 4:10 εἶπεν δὲ Μωυσῆς πρὸς κύριον δέομαι κύριε οὐχ ἱκανός εἰμι πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς οὐδὲ πρὸ τῆς τρίτης ἡμέρας οὐδὲ ἀφ᾽ οὗ ἤρξω λαλεῖν τῷ θεράποντί σου ἰσχνόφωνος καὶ βραδύγλωσσος ἐγώ εἰμι (lxx) Exo 4:10 Ait Moyses: Obsecro, Domine, non sum eloquens ab heri et nudiustertius: et ex quo locutus es ad servum tuum, impeditioris et tardioris linguæ sum.(vulgate) Exodus 4:10 But Moses said vnto the Lorde, Oh my Lorde, I am not eloquent, neither at any time haue bene, nor yet since thou hast spoken vnto thy seruant: but I am slowe of speach & slowe of tongue.(Geneva) Exo 4:10 Mose aber sprach zu dem HERRN: Ach mein HERR, ich bin je und je nicht wohl beredt gewesen, auch nicht seit der Zeit, da du mit deinem Knecht geredet hast; denn ich habe eine schwere Sprache und eine schwere Zunge.(dhs) Exo 4:10 Then Moses said to the Lord, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:11 ============ Exo 4:11 The Lord said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?(nas) Exo 4:11 εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν τίς ἔδωκεν στόμα ἀνθρώπῳ καὶ τίς ἐποίησεν δύσκωφον καὶ κωφόν βλέποντα καὶ τυφλόν οὐκ ἐγὼ ὁ θεός (lxx) Exo 4:11 Dixit Dominus ad eum: Quis fecit os hominis? aut quis fabricatus est mutum et surdum, videntem et cæcum? nonne ego?(vulgate) Exodus 4:11 Then the Lorde said vnto him, Who hath giuen the mouth to man? or who hath made the domme, or the deafe, or him that seeth, or the blinde? haue not I the Lorde?(Geneva) Exo 4:11 Der HERR sprach zu ihm: Wer hat dem Menschen den Mund geschaffen? Oder wer hat den Stummen oder Tauben oder Sehenden oder Blinden gemacht? Habe ich's nicht getan, der HERR?(dhs) Exo 4:11 So the Lord said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:12 ============ Exo 4:12 Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say."(nas) Exo 4:12 καὶ νῦν πορεύου καὶ ἐγὼ ἀνοίξω τὸ στόμα σου καὶ συμβιβάσω σε ὃ μέλλεις λαλῆσαι (lxx) Exo 4:12 Perge, igitur, et ego ero in ore tuo: doceboque te quid loquaris.(vulgate) Exodus 4:12 Therefore goe nowe, and I will be with thy mouth, and will teach thee what thou shalt say.(Geneva) Exo 4:12 So geh nun hin: Ich will mit deinem Munde sein und dich lehren, was du sagen sollst.(dhs) Exo 4:12 Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:13 ============ Exo 4:13 But he said, "Please, Lord, now send the message by whomever You will." (nas) Exo 4:13 καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς δέομαι κύριε προχείρισαι δυνάμενον ἄλλον ὃν ἀποστελεῖς (lxx) Exo 4:13 At ille: Obsecro, inquit, Domine, mitte quem missurus es.(vulgate) Exodus 4:13 But he saide, Oh my Lorde, sende, I pray thee, by the hande of him, whome thou shouldest sende.(Geneva) Exo 4:13 Mose sprach aber: Mein HERR, sende, welchen du senden willst.(dhs) Exo 4:13 But he said, "O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:14 ============ Exo 4:14 Then the anger of the Lord burned against Moses, and He said, "Is there not your brother Aaron the Levite? I know that he speaks fluently. And moreover, behold, he is coming out to meet you; when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.(nas) Exo 4:14 καὶ θυμωθεὶς ὀργῇ κύριος ἐπὶ Μωυσῆν εἶπεν οὐκ ἰδοὺ Ααρων ὁ ἀδελφός σου ὁ Λευίτης ἐπίσταμαι ὅτι λαλῶν λαλήσει αὐτός σοι καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἐξελεύσεται εἰς συνάντησίν σοι καὶ ἰδών σε χαρήσεται ἐν ἑαυτῷ (lxx) Exo 4:14 Iratus Dominus in Moysen, ait: Aaron frater tuus Levites, scio quod eloquens sit: ecce ipse egreditur in occursum tuum, vidensque te lætabitur corde.(vulgate) Exodus 4:14 Then the Lorde was verie angrie with Moses, and said, Doe not I know Aaron thy brother the Leuite, that he himselfe shall speake? for loe, he commeth also foorth to meete thee, and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.(Geneva) Exo 4:14 Da ward der HERR sehr zornig über Mose und sprach: Weiß ich denn nicht, daß dein Bruder Aaron aus dem Stamm Levi beredt ist? und siehe, er wird herausgehen dir entgegen; und wenn er dich sieht, wir er sich von Herzen freuen.(dhs) Exo 4:14 So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:15 ============ Exo 4:15 You are to speak to him and put the words in his mouth; and I, even I, will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will teach you what you are to do.(nas) Exo 4:15 καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ δώσεις τὰ ῥήματά μου εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐγὼ ἀνοίξω τὸ στόμα σου καὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ καὶ συμβιβάσω ὑμᾶς ἃ ποιήσετε (lxx) Exo 4:15 Loquere ad eum, et pone verba mea in ore ejus: et ego ero in ore tuo, et in ore illius, et ostendam vobis quid agere debeatis.(vulgate) Exodus 4:15 Therefore thou shalt speake vnto him, and put the wordes in his mouth, and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye ought to doe.(Geneva) Exo 4:15 Du sollst zu ihm reden und die Worte in seinen Mund legen. Und ich will mit deinem und seinem Munde sein und euch lehren, was ihr tun sollt.(dhs) Exo 4:15 Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:16 ============ Exo 4:16 Moreover, he shall speak for you to the people; and he will be as a mouth for you and you will be as God to him.(nas) Exo 4:16 καὶ αὐτός σοι προσλαλήσει πρὸς τὸν λαόν καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται σου στόμα σὺ δὲ αὐτῷ ἔσῃ τὰ πρὸς τὸν θεόν (lxx) Exo 4:16 Ipse loquetur pro te ad populum, et erit os tuum: tu autem eris ei in his quæ ad Deum pertinent.(vulgate) Exodus 4:16 And he shall be thy spokesman vnto the people: and he shall be, euen he shall be as thy mouth, and thou shalt be to him as God.(Geneva) Exo 4:16 Und er soll für dich zum Volk reden; er soll dein Mund sein, und du sollst sein Gott sein.(dhs) Exo 4:16 So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God.(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:17 ============ Exo 4:17 You shall take in your hand this staff, with which you shall perform the signs."(nas) Exo 4:17 καὶ τὴν ῥάβδον ταύτην τὴν στραφεῖσαν εἰς ὄφιν λήμψῃ ἐν τῇ χειρί σου ἐν ᾗ ποιήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ τὰ σημεῖα (lxx) Exo 4:17 Virgam quoque hanc sume in manu tua, in qua facturus es signa.(vulgate) Exodus 4:17 Moreouer thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do miracles.(Geneva) Exo 4:17 Und diesen Stab nimm in deine Hand, mit dem du die Zeichen tun sollst.(dhs) Exo 4:17 And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:18 ============ Exo 4:18 Then Moses departed and returned to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, "Please, let me go, that I may return to my brethren who are in Egypt, and see if they are still alive." And Jethro said to Moses, "Go in peace."(nas) Exo 4:18 ἐπορεύθη δὲ Μωυσῆς καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν πρὸς Ιοθορ τὸν γαμβρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ λέγει πορεύσομαι καὶ ἀποστρέψω πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφούς μου τοὺς ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ὄψομαι εἰ ἔτι ζῶσιν καὶ εἶπεν Ιοθορ Μωυσῇ βάδιζε ὑγιαίνων (lxx) Exo 4:18 Abiit Moyses, et reversus est ad Jethro socerum suum, dixitque ei: Vadam et revertar ad fratres meos in Ægyptum, ut videam si adhuc vivant. Cui ait Jethro: Vade in pace.~(vulgate) Exodus 4:18 Therefore Moses went and returned to Iethro his father in lawe, & said vnto him, I pray thee, let me goe, and returne to my brethren, which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet aliue. Then Iethro said to Moses, Go in peace.(Geneva) Exo 4:18 Mose ging hin und kam wieder zu Jethro, seinem Schwiegervater, und sprach zu ihm: Laß mich doch gehen, daß ich wieder zu meinen Brüdern komme, die in Ägypten sind, und sehe, ob sie noch leben. Jethro sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin mit Frieden.(dhs) Exo 4:18 So Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, "Please let me go and return to my brethren who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive." And Jethro said to Moses, "Go in peace."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:19 ============ Exo 4:19 Now the Lord said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who were seeking your life are dead."(nas) Exo 4:19 μετὰ δὲ τὰς ἡμέρας τὰς πολλὰς ἐκείνας ἐτελεύτησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἐν Μαδιαμ βάδιζε ἄπελθε εἰς Αἴγυπτον τεθνήκασιν γὰρ πάντες οἱ ζητοῦντές σου τὴν ψυχήν (lxx) Exo 4:19 Dixit ergo Dominus ad Moysen in Madian: Vade, et revertere in Ægyptum, mortui sunt enim omnes qui quærebant animam tuam.(vulgate) Exodus 4:19 (For the Lord had said vnto Moses in Midian, Goe, returne to Egypt: for they are all dead which went about to kill thee)(Geneva) Exo 4:19 Auch sprach der HERR zu ihm in Midian: Gehe hin und ziehe wieder nach Ägypten; denn die Leute sind tot, die nach deinem Leben standen.(dhs) Exo 4:19 And the Lord said to Moses in Midian, "Go, return to Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead."(nkjv) ======= Exodus 4:20 ============ Exo 4:20 So Moses took his wife and his sons and mounted them on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt. At that time she said, "You are a bridegroom of blood--because of the circumcision.(nas) Exo 4:26 καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ διότι εἶπεν ἔστη τὸ αἷμα τῆς περιτομῆς τοῦ παιδίου μου (lxx) Exo 4:26 Et dimisit eum postquam dixerat: Sponsus sanguinum ob circumcisionem.(vulgate) Exodus 4:26 So he departed from him. Then she saide, O bloodie husbande (because of the circumcision)(Geneva) Exo 4:26 Da ließ er von ihm ab. Sie sprach aber Blutbräutigam um der Beschneidung willen.(dhs) Exo 4:26 So He let him go. Qui perrexit obviam ei in montem Dei, et osculatus est eum.(vulgate) Exodus 4:27 Then the Lorde saide vnto Aaron, Goe meete Moses in the wildernesse; he went and mette him in the Mount of God, and kissed him.(Geneva) Exo 4:27 Und der HERR sprach zu Aaron: Gehe hin Mose entgegen in die Wüste. (nas) Exo 4:31 καὶ ἐπίστευσεν ὁ λαὸς καὶ ἐχάρη ὅτι ἐπεσκέψατο ὁ θεὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ ὅτι εἶδεν αὐτῶν τὴν θλῖψιν κύψας δὲ ὁ λαὸς προσεκύνησεν (lxx) Exo 4:31 et credidit populus. Audieruntque quod visitasset Dominus filios Israël, et respexisset afflictionem illorum: et proni adoraverunt.(vulgate) Exodus 4:31 And the people beleeued, and when they heard that the Lorde had visited the children of Israel, and had looked vpon their tribulation, they bowed downe, and worshipped.(Geneva) Exo 4:31 Und das Volk glaubte.
