And the kingdom was undisturbed under him.(nas) 2Ch 14:5 καὶ ἀπέστησεν ἀπὸ πασῶν τῶν πόλεων Ιουδα τὰ θυσιαστήρια καὶ τὰ εἴδωλα καὶ εἰρήνευσεν (lxx) 2Ch 14:5 et abstulit de cunctis urbibus Juda aras et fana, et regnavit in pace.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:5 And he tooke away out of all the cities of Iudah the hie places, and the images: therefore the kingdome was quiet before him.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:5 Und er tat weg aus allen Städten Juda's die Höhen und die Sonnensäulen; denn das Königreich war still vor ihm.(dhs) 2Ch 14:5 He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah, and the kingdom was quiet under him.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:6 ============ 2Ch 14:6 He built fortified cities in Judah, since the land was undisturbed, and there was no one at war with him during those years, because the Lord had given him rest.(nas) 2Ch 14:6 πόλεις τειχήρεις ἐν γῇ Ιουδα ὅτι εἰρήνευσεν ἡ γῆ καὶ οὐκ ἦν αὐτῷ πόλεμος ἐν τοῖς ἔτεσιν τούτοις ὅτι κατέπαυσεν αὐτῷ κύριος (lxx) 2Ch 14:6 Ædificavit quoque urbes munitas in Juda, quia quietus erat, et nulla temporibus ejus bella surrexerant, pacem Domino largiente.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:6 He built also strong cities in Iudah, because the lande was in rest, and he had no warre in those yeeres: for the Lord had giuen him rest.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:6 Und er baute feste Städte in Juda, weil das Land still und kein Streit wider ihn war in denselben Jahren; denn der HERR gab ihm Ruhe.(dhs) 2Ch 14:6 And he built fortified cities in Judah, for the land had rest; he had no war in those years, because the Lord had given him rest.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:7 ============ 2Ch 14:7 For he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the Lord our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.(nas) 2Ch 14:7 καὶ εἶπεν τῷ Ιουδα οἰκοδομήσωμεν τὰς πόλεις ταύτας καὶ ποιήσωμεν τείχη καὶ πύργους καὶ πύλας καὶ μοχλοὺς ἐν ᾧ τῆς γῆς κυριεύσομεν ὅτι καθὼς ἐξεζητήσαμεν κύριον θεὸν ἡμῶν ἐξεζήτησεν ἡμᾶς καὶ κατέπαυσεν ἡμᾶς κυκλόθεν καὶ εὐόδωσεν ἡμῖν (lxx) 2Ch 14:7 Dixit autem Judæ: Ædificemus civitates istas, et vallemus muris, et roboremus turribus, et portis, et seris, donec a bellis quieta sunt omnia, eo quod quæsierimus Dominum Deum patrum nostrorum, et dederit nobis pacem per gyrum. Ædificaverunt igitur, et nullum in exstruendo impedimentum fuit.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:7 Therefore he saide to Iudah, Let vs builde these cities and make walles about, and towers, gates, and barres, whiles the lande is before vs: because we haue sought the Lorde our God, we haue sought him, and he hath giuen vs rest on euery side: so they built and prospered.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:7 Und er sprach zu Juda: Laßt uns diese Städte bauen und Mauern darumher führen und Türme, Türen und Riegel, weil das Land noch offen vor uns ist; denn wir haben den HERRN, unsern Gott, gesucht, und er hat uns Ruhe gegeben umher. Also bauten sie, und es ging glücklich vonstatten.(dhs) 2Ch 14:7 Therefore he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the Lord our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:8 ============ 2Ch 14:8 Now Asa had an army of 300,000 from Judah, bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, bearing shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.(nas) 2Ch 14:8 καὶ ἐγένετο τῷ Ασα δύναμις ὁπλοφόρων αἰρόντων θυρεοὺς καὶ δόρατα ἐν γῇ Ιουδα τριακόσιαι χιλιάδες καὶ ἐν γῇ Βενιαμιν πελτασταὶ καὶ τοξόται διακόσιαι καὶ πεντήκοντα χιλιάδες πάντες οὗτοι πολεμισταὶ δυνάμεως (lxx) 2Ch 14:8 Habuit autem Asa in exercitu suo portantium scuta et hastas de Juda trecenta millia, de Benjamin vero scutariorum et sagittariorum ducenta octoginta millia: omnes isti viri fortissimi.~(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:8 And Asa had an armie of Iudah that bare shieldes and speares, three hundreth thousande, and of Beniamin that bare shieldes and drewe bowes, two hundreth and foure score thousande: all these were valiant men.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:8 Und Asa hatte eine Heereskraft, die Schild und Spieß trugen, aus Juda dreihunderttausend und aus Benjamin, die Schilde trugen und mit dem Bogen schießen konnten zweihundertachtzigtausend; und diese waren starke Helden.(dhs) 2Ch 14:8 And Asa had an army of three hundred thousand from Judah who carried shields and spears, and from Benjamin two hundred and eighty thousand men who carried shields and drew bows; all these were mighty men of valor.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:9 ============ 2Ch 14:9 Now Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots, and he came to Mareshah.(nas) 2Ch 14:9 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς Ζαρε ὁ Αἰθίοψ ἐν δυνάμει ἐν χιλίαις χιλιάσιν καὶ ἅρμασιν τριακοσίοις καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως Μαρισα (lxx) 2Ch 14:9 Egressus est autem contra eos Zara Æthiops cum exercitu suo, decies centena millia, et curribus trecentis: et venit usque Maresa.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:9 And there came out against them Zerah of Ethiopia with an hoste of ten hundreth thousande, and three hundreth charets, and came vnto Mareshah.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:9 Es zog aber wider sie aus Serah, der Mohr, mit einer Heereskraft tausendmaltausend, dazu dreihundert Wagen, und sie kamen bis gen Maresa.(dhs) 2Ch 14:9 Then Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:10 ============ 2Ch 14:10 So Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up in battle formation in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.(nas) 2Ch 14:10 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Ασα εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ καὶ παρετάξατο πόλεμον ἐν τῇ φάραγγι κατὰ βορρᾶν Μαρισης (lxx) 2Ch 14:10 Porro Asa perrexit obviam ei, et instruxit aciem ad bellum in valle Sephata, quæ est juxta Maresa:(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:10 Then Asa went out before him, and they set the battell in aray in the valley of Zephathah beside Mareshah.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:10 Und Asa zog aus ihnen entgegen; und sie rüsteten sich zum Streit im Tal Zephatha bei Maresa.(dhs) 2Ch 14:10 So Asa went out against him, and they set the troops in battle array in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:11 ============ 2Ch 14:11 Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, "Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; let not man prevail against You."(nas) 2Ch 14:11 καὶ ἐβόησεν Ασα πρὸς κύριον θεὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν κύριε οὐκ ἀδυνατεῖ παρὰ σοὶ σῴζειν ἐν πολλοῖς καὶ ἐν ὀλίγοις κατίσχυσον ἡμᾶς κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ὅτι ἐπὶ σοὶ πεποίθαμεν καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί σου ἤλθαμεν ἐπὶ τὸ πλῆθος τὸ πολὺ τοῦτο κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν μὴ κατισχυσάτω πρὸς σὲ ἄνθρωπος (lxx) 2Ch 14:11 et invocavit Dominum Deum, et ait: Domine, non est apud te ulla distantia, utrum in paucis auxilieris, an in pluribus. Adjuva nos, Domine Deus noster: in te enim, et in tuo nomine habentes fiduciam, venimus contra hanc multitudinem. Domine, Deus noster tu es: non prævaleat contra te homo.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:11 And Asa cryed vnto the Lorde his God, and saide, Lord, it is nothing with thee to helpe with many, or with no power: helpe vs, O Lorde our God: for we rest on thee, and in thy Name are we come against this multitude: O Lorde, thou art our God, let not man preuaile against thee.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:11 Und Asa rief an den HERRN, seinen Gott, und sprach: HERR, es ist bei dir kein Unterschied, zu helfen unter vielen oder da keine Kraft ist. Hilf uns, HERR, unser Gott; denn wir verlassen uns auf dich, und in deinem Namen sind wir gekommen wider diese Menge. HERR, unser Gott, wider dich vermag kein Mensch etwas.(dhs) 2Ch 14:11 And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, "Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!"(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:12 ============ 2Ch 14:12 So the Lord routed the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.(nas) 2Ch 14:12 καὶ ἐπάταξεν κύριος τοὺς Αἰθίοπας ἐναντίον Ιουδα καὶ ἔφυγον οἱ Αἰθίοπες (lxx) 2Ch 14:12 Exterruit itaque Dominus Æthiopes coram Asa et Juda: fugeruntque Æthiopes.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa and before Iudah, and the Ethiopians fled.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:12 Und der HERR schlug die Mohren vor Asa und vor Juda, daß sie flohen.(dhs) 2Ch 14:12 So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:13 ============ 2Ch 14:13 Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar; and so many Ethiopians fell that they could not recover, for they were shattered before the Lord and before His army. And they carried away very much plunder.(nas) 2Ch 14:13 καὶ κατεδίωξεν Ασα καὶ ὁ λαὸς αὐτοῦ ἕως Γεδωρ καὶ ἔπεσον Αἰθίοπες ὥστε μὴ εἶναι ἐν αὐτοῖς περιποίησιν ὅτι συνετρίβησαν ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἐναντίον τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐσκύλευσαν σκῦλα πολλά (lxx) 2Ch 14:13 Et persecutus est eos Asa, et populus qui cum eo erat, usque Gerara: et ruerunt Æthiopes usque ad internecionem, quia Domino cædente contriti sunt, et exercitu illius præliante. Tulerunt ergo spolia multa,(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:13 And Asa and the people that was with him, pursued them vnto Gerar; the Ethiopians hoste was ouerthrowen, so that there was no life in them: for they were destroyed before the Lorde and before his hoste: and they caryed away a mightie great spoyle.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:13 Und Asa samt dem Volk, das bei ihm war, jagte ihnen nach bis gen Gerar. Und die Mohren fielen, daß ihrer keiner lebendig blieb; sondern sie wurden geschlagen vor dem HERRN und vor seinem Heerlager. Und sie trugen sehr viel Raub davon.(dhs) 2Ch 14:13 And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So the Ethiopians were overthrown, and they could not recover, for they were broken before the Lord and His army. And they carried away very much spoil.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:14 ============ 2Ch 14:14 They destroyed all the cities around Gerar, for the dread of the Lord had fallen on them; and they despoiled all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.(nas) 2Ch 14:14 καὶ ἐξέκοψαν τὰς κώμας αὐτῶν κύκλῳ Γεδωρ ὅτι ἐγενήθη ἔκστασις κυρίου ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς καὶ ἐσκύλευσαν πάσας τὰς πόλεις αὐτῶν ὅτι πολλὰ σκῦλα ἐγενήθη αὐτοῖς (lxx) 2Ch 14:14 et percusserunt civitates omnes per circuitum Geraræ: grandis quippe cunctos terror invaserat: et diripuerunt urbes, et multam prædam asportaverunt.(vulgate) 2 Chronicles 14:14 And they smote all the cities rounde about Gerar: for the feare of the Lorde came vpon them, and they spoyled all the cities, for there was exceeding much spoyle in them.(Geneva) 2Ch 14:14 Und er schlug alle Städte um Gerar her; denn die Furcht des HERRN kam über sie. Und sie beraubten alle Städte; denn es war viel Raub darin.(dhs) 2Ch 14:14 Then they defeated all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of the Lord came upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for there was exceedingly much spoil in them.(nkjv) ======= 2 Chronicles 14:15 ============ 2Ch 14:15 They also struck down those who owned livestock, and they carried away large numbers of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.
