[Quidnam quoque tibi est, quia ascendisti et tu omnis in tecta?(vulgate) Isaiah 22:1 The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee nowe that thou art wholy gone vp vnto the house toppes?(Geneva) Isa 22:1 Dies ist die Last über das Schautal: Was ist denn euch, daß ihr alle so auf die Dächer lauft?(dhs) Isa 22:1 The burden against the Valley of Vision. What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops,(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:2 ============ Isa 22:2 You who were full of noise, You boisterous town, you exultant city; Your slain were not slain with the sword, Nor did they die in battle. (nas) Isa 22:2 μάταια ἐνεπλήσθη ἡ πόλις βοώντων οἱ τραυματίαι σου οὐ τραυματίαι μαχαίρας οὐδὲ οἱ νεκροί σου νεκροὶ πολέμου (lxx) Isa 22:2 Clamoris plena, urbs frequens, civitas exsultans; interfecti tui, non interfecti gladio, nec mortui in bello.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:2 Thou that art full of noise, a citie full of brute, a ioyous citie: thy slaine men shall not bee slaine with sworde, nor die in battell.(Geneva) Isa 22:2 Du warst voll Getönes, eine Stadt voll Volks, eine fröhliche Stadt. Deine Erschlagenen sind nicht mit dem Schwert erschlagen und nicht im Streit gestorben;(dhs) Isa 22:2 You who are full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city? Your slain men are not slain with the sword, Nor dead in battle.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:3 ============ Isa 22:3 All your rulers have fled together, And have been captured without the bow; All of you who were found were taken captive together, Though they had fled far away. (nas) Isa 22:3 πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντές σου πεφεύγασιν καὶ οἱ ἁλόντες σκληρῶς δεδεμένοι εἰσίν καὶ οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἐν σοὶ πόρρω πεφεύγασιν (lxx) Isa 22:3 Cuncti principes tui fugerunt simul dureque ligati sunt; omnes qui inventi sunt vincti sunt pariter; procul fugerunt.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:3 All thy princes shal flee together from the bowe: they shalbe bound: all that shall be found in thee, shall be bound together, which haue fled from farre.(Geneva) Isa 22:3 alle deine Hauptleute sind vor dem Bogen gewichen und gefangen; alle, die man in dir gefunden hat, sind gefangen und fern geflohen.(dhs) Isa 22:3 All your rulers have fled together; They are captured by the archers. All who are found in you are bound together; They have fled from afar.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:4 ============ Isa 22:4 Therefore I say, "Turn your eyes away from me, Let me weep bitterly, Do not try to comfort me concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people."(nas) Isa 22:4 διὰ τοῦτο εἶπα ἄφετέ με πικρῶς κλαύσομαι μὴ κατισχύσητε παρακαλεῖν με ἐπὶ τὸ σύντριμμα τῆς θυγατρὸς τοῦ γένους μου (lxx) Isa 22:4 Propterea dixi: Recedite a me: amare flebo; nolite incumbere ut consolemini me super vastitate filiæ populi mei;(vulgate) Isaiah 22:4 Therefore said I, Turne away from me: I wil weepe bitterly: labour not to comfort mee for the destruction of the daughter of my people.(Geneva) Isa 22:4 Darum sage ich: Hebt euch von mir, laßt mich bitterlich weinen; müht euch nicht, mich zu trösten über die Verstörung der Tochter meines Volks!(dhs) Isa 22:4 Therefore I said, "Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; Do not labor to comfort me Because of the plundering of the daughter of my people."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:5 ============ Isa 22:5 For the Lord God of hosts has a day of panic, subjugation and confusion In the valley of vision, A breaking down of walls And a crying to the mountain. (nas) Isa 22:5 ὅτι ἡμέρα ταραχῆς καὶ ἀπωλείας καὶ καταπατήματος καὶ πλάνησις παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ἐν φάραγγι Σιων πλανῶνται ἀπὸ μικροῦ ἕως μεγάλου πλανῶνται ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη (lxx) Isa 22:5 dies enim interfectionis, et conculcationis, et fletuum, Domino Deo exercituum, in valle Visionis, scrutans murum, et magnificus super montem.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:5 For it is a day of trouble, and of ruine, and of perplexitie by the Lorde God of hostes in the valley of vision, breaking downe the citie: and a crying vnto the mountaines.(Geneva) Isa 22:5 Denn es ist ein Tag des Getümmels und der Zertretung und Verwirrung vom HERRN HERRN Zebaoth im Schautal um des Untergrabens willen der Mauer und des Geschreies am Berge.(dhs) Isa 22:5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision-- Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:6 ============ Isa 22:6 Elam took up the quiver With the chariots, infantry and horsemen; And Kir uncovered the shield. (nas) Isa 22:6 οἱ δὲ Αιλαμῖται ἔλαβον φαρέτρας ἀναβάται ἄνθρωποι ἐφ᾽ ἵπποις καὶ συναγωγὴ παρατάξεως (lxx) Isa 22:6 Et Ælam sumpsit pharetram, currum hominis equitis, et parietem nudavit clypeus.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:6 And Elam bare the quiuer in a mans charet with horsemen, and Kir vncouered the shield.(Geneva) Isa 22:6 Denn Elam fährt daher mit Köcher, Wagen, Leuten und Reitern, und Kir glänzt daher mit Schilden.(dhs) Isa 22:6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:7 ============ Isa 22:7 Then your choicest valleys were full of chariots, And the horsemen took up fixed positions at the gate. (nas) Isa 22:7 καὶ ἔσονται αἱ ἐκλεκταὶ φάραγγές σου πλησθήσονται ἁρμάτων οἱ δὲ ἱππεῖς ἐμφράξουσι τὰς πύλας σου (lxx) Isa 22:7 Et erunt electæ valles tuæ plenæ quadrigarum, et equites ponent sedes suas in porta.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:7 And thy chiefe valleis were full of charets, and the horsemen set themselues in aray against the gate.(Geneva) Isa 22:7 Und es wird geschehen, daß deine auserwählten Täler werden voll Wagen sein, und Reiter werden sich lagern vor die Tore.(dhs) Isa 22:7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots, And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:8 ============ Isa 22:8 And He removed the defense of Judah. In that day you depended on the weapons of the house of the forest, (nas) Isa 22:8 καὶ ἀνακαλύψουσιν τὰς πύλας Ιουδα καὶ ἐμβλέψονται τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ εἰς τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς οἴκους τῆς πόλεως (lxx) Isa 22:8 Et revelabitur operimentum Judæ, et videbis in die illa armamentarium domus saltus.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:8 And hee discouered the couering of Iudah: and thou didest looke in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.(Geneva) Isa 22:8 Da wird der Vorhang Juda's aufgedeckt werden, daß man schauen wird zu der Zeit nach Rüstungen im Hause des Waldes.(dhs) Isa 22:8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:9 ============ Isa 22:9 And you saw that the breaches In the wall of the city of David were many; And you collected the waters of the lower pool. (nas) Isa 22:9 καὶ ἀνακαλύψουσιν τὰ κρυπτὰ τῶν οἴκων τῆς ἄκρας Δαυιδ καὶ εἴδοσαν ὅτι πλείους εἰσὶν καὶ ὅτι ἀπέστρεψαν τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς ἀρχαίας κολυμβήθρας εἰς τὴν πόλιν (lxx) Isa 22:9 Et scissuras civitatis David videbitis, quia multiplicatæ sunt; et congregastis aquas piscinæ inferioris,(vulgate) Isaiah 22:9 And ye haue seene the breaches of the citie of Dauid: for they were many, and ye gathered the waters of the lower poole.(Geneva) Isa 22:9 Und ihr werdet die Risse an der Stadt Davids viel sehen und werdet das Wasser des untern Teiches sammeln;(dhs) Isa 22:9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:10 ============ Isa 22:10 Then you counted the houses of Jerusalem And tore down houses to fortify the wall. (nas) Isa 22:10 καὶ ὅτι καθείλοσαν τοὺς οἴκους Ιερουσαλημ εἰς ὀχύρωμα τοῦ τείχους τῇ πόλει (lxx) Isa 22:10 et domos Jerusalem numerastis, et destruxistis domos ad muniendum murum.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:10 And yee nombred the houses of Ierusalem, and the houses haue yee broken downe to fortifie the wall,(Geneva) Isa 22:10 ihr werdet auch die Häuser zu Jerusalem zählen; ja, ihr werdet die Häuser abbrechen, die Mauer zu befestigen,(dhs) Isa 22:10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:11 ============ Isa 22:11 And you made a reservoir between the two walls For the waters of the old pool. But you did not depend on Him who made it, Nor did you take into consideration Him who planned it long ago. (nas) Isa 22:11 καὶ ἐποιήσατε ἑαυτοῖς ὕδωρ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν δύο τειχέων ἐσώτερον τῆς κολυμβήθρας τῆς ἀρχαίας καὶ οὐκ ἐνεβλέψατε εἰς τὸν ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς ποιήσαντα αὐτὴν καὶ τὸν κτίσαντα αὐτὴν οὐκ εἴδετε (lxx) Isa 22:11 Et lacum fecistis inter duos muros ad aquam piscinæ veteris; et non suspexistis ad eum qui fecerat eam, et operatorem ejus de longe non vidistis.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:11 And haue also made a ditche betweene the two walles, for the waters of the olde poole, and haue not looked vnto the maker thereof, neither had respect vnto him that formed it of olde.(Geneva) Isa 22:11 und werdet einen Graben machen zwischen beiden Mauern vom Wasser des alten Teiches. Doch sehet ihr nicht auf den, der solches tut, und schauet nicht auf den, der solches schafft von ferneher.(dhs) Isa 22:11 You also made a reservoir between the two walls For the water of the old pool. But you did not look to its Maker, Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:12 ============ Isa 22:12 Therefore in that day the Lord God of hosts called you to weeping, to wailing, To shaving the head and to wearing sackcloth. (nas) Isa 22:12 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν κύριος σαβαωθ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ κλαυθμὸν καὶ κοπετὸν καὶ ξύρησιν καὶ ζῶσιν σάκκων (lxx) Isa 22:12 Et vocabit Dominus Deus exercituum in die illa ad fletum, et ad planctum, ad calvitium, et ad cingulum sacci;(vulgate) Isaiah 22:12 And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call vnto weeping and mourning, and to baldnes and girding with sackecloth.(Geneva) Isa 22:12 Darum wird der HERR HERR Zebaoth zu der Zeit rufen lassen, daß man weine und klage und sich das Haar abschere und Säcke anziehe.(dhs) Isa 22:12 And in that day the Lord God of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning, For baldness and for girding with sackcloth.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:13 ============ Isa 22:13 Instead, there is gaiety and gladness, Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, Eating of meat and drinking of wine: "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die."(nas) Isa 22:13 αὐτοὶ δὲ ἐποιήσαντο εὐφροσύνην καὶ ἀγαλλίαμα σφάζοντες μόσχους καὶ θύοντες πρόβατα ὥστε φαγεῖν κρέα καὶ πιεῖν οἶνον λέγοντες φάγωμεν καὶ πίωμεν αὔριον γὰρ ἀποθνῄσκομεν (lxx) Isa 22:13 et ecce gaudium et lætitia, occidere vitulos et jugulare arietes, comedere carnes, et bibere vinum: comedamus et bibamus, cras enim moriemur.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:13 And beholde, ioy and gladnes, slaying oxen and killing sheepe, eating flesh, & drinking wine, eating and drinking: for to morowe we shall die.(Geneva) Isa 22:13 Wiewohl jetzt, siehe, ist's eitel Freude und Wonne, Ochsen würgen, Schafe schlachten, Fleisch essen, Wein trinken und ihr sprecht: "Laßt uns essen und trinken, wir sterben doch morgen!"(dhs) Isa 22:13 But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine: "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!"(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:14 ============ Isa 22:14 But the Lord of hosts revealed Himself to me, "Surely this iniquity shall not be forgiven you Until you die," says the Lord God of hosts. (nas) Isa 22:14 καὶ ἀνακεκαλυμμένα ταῦτά ἐστιν ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν κυρίου σαβαωθ ὅτι οὐκ ἀφεθήσεται ὑμῖν αὕτη ἡ ἁμαρτία ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνητε (lxx) Isa 22:14 Et revelata est in auribus meis vox Domini exercituum: Si dimittetur iniquitas hæc vobis donec moriamini, dicit Dominus Deus exercituum.]~(vulgate) Isaiah 22:14 And it was declared in ye eares of the Lorde of hostes. Surely this iniquitie shall not be purged from you, til ye die, saith the Lord God of hostes.(Geneva) Isa 22:14 Aber meinen Ohren ist es vom HERRN Zebaoth offenbart: Was gilt's, ob euch diese Missetat soll vergeben werden, bis ihr sterbet? spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Isa 22:14 Then it was revealed in my hearing by the Lord of hosts, "Surely for this iniquity there will be no atonement for you, Even to your death," says the Lord God of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:15 ============ Isa 22:15 Thus says the Lord God of hosts, "Come, go to this steward, To Shebna, who is in charge of the royal household, (nas) Isa 22:15 τάδε λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ πορεύου εἰς τὸ παστοφόριον πρὸς Σομναν τὸν ταμίαν καὶ εἰπὸν αὐτῷ (lxx) Isa 22:15 [Hæc dicit Dominus Deus exercituum: Vade, ingredere ad eum qui habitat in tabernaculo, ad Sobnam, præpositum templi, et dices ad eum:(vulgate) Isaiah 22:15 Thus sayeth the Lord God of hostes, Goe, get thee to that treasurer, to Shebna, the steward of the house, and say,(Geneva) Isa 22:15 So spricht der HERR HERR Zebaoth: Gehe hinein zum Schatzmeister Sebna, dem Hofmeister, und sprich zu ihm:(dhs) Isa 22:15 Thus says the Lord God of hosts: "Go, proceed to this steward, To Shebna, who is over the house, and say:(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:16 ============ Isa 22:16 'What right do you have here, And whom do you have here, That you have hewn a tomb for yourself here, You who hew a tomb on the height, You who carve a resting place for yourself in the rock? (nas) Isa 22:16 τί σὺ ὧδε καὶ τί σοί ἐστιν ὧδε ὅτι ἐλατόμησας σεαυτῷ ὧδε μνημεῖον καὶ ἐποίησας σεαυτῷ ἐν ὑψηλῷ μνημεῖον καὶ ἔγραψας σεαυτῷ ἐν πέτρᾳ σκηνήν (lxx) Isa 22:16 Quid tu hic, aut quasi quis hic? quia excidisti tibi hic sepulchrum, excidisti in excelso memoriale diligenter, in petra tabernaculum tibi.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:16 What haste thou to doe here? and whome hast thou here? that thou shouldest here hewe thee out a sepulchre, as he that heweth out his sepulchre in an hie place, or that graueth an habitation for him selfe in a rocke?(Geneva) Isa 22:16 Was hast du hier? wem gehörst du an, daß du dir ein Grab hier hauen lässest, als der sein Grab in der Höhe hauen läßt und als der seine Wohnung in den Felsen machen läßt?(dhs) Isa 22:16 'What have you here, and whom have you here, That you have hewn a sepulcher here, As he who hews himself a sepulcher on high, Who carves a tomb for himself in a rock?(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:17 ============ Isa 22:17 'Behold, the Lord is about to hurl you headlong, O man. And He is about to grasp you firmly(nas) Isa 22:17 ἰδοὺ δὴ κύριος σαβαωθ ἐκβαλεῖ καὶ ἐκτρίψει ἄνδρα καὶ ἀφελεῖ τὴν στολήν σου (lxx) Isa 22:17 Ecce Dominus asportari te faciet, sicut asportatur gallus gallinaceus; et quasi amictum, sic sublevabit te.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:17 Beholde, the Lord wil carie thee away with a great captiuitie, and will surely couer thee.(Geneva) Isa 22:17 Siehe, der HERR wird dich wegwerfen, wie ein Starker einen wegwirft, und wird dich greifen(dhs) Isa 22:17 Indeed, the Lord will throw you away violently, O mighty man, And will surely seize you.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:18 ============ Isa 22:18 And roll you tightly like a ball, To be cast into a vast country; There you will die And there your splendid chariots will be, You shame of your master's house.'(nas) Isa 22:18 καὶ τὸν στέφανόν σου τὸν ἔνδοξον καὶ ῥίψει σε εἰς χώραν μεγάλην καὶ ἀμέτρητον καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀποθανῇ καὶ θήσει τὸ ἅρμα σου τὸ καλὸν εἰς ἀτιμίαν καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ἄρχοντός σου εἰς καταπάτημα (lxx) Isa 22:18 Coronas coronabit te tribulatione; quasi pilam mittet te in terram latam et spatiosam; ibi morieris, et ibi erit currus gloriæ tuæ, ignominia domus domini tui.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:18 He wil surely rolle and turne thee like a bal in a large countrey: there shalt thou die, and there the charets of thy glory shalbe the shame of thy lordes house.(Geneva) Isa 22:18 und dich umtreiben wie eine Kugel auf weitem Lande. Daselbst wirst du sterben, daselbst werden deine köstlichen Wagen bleiben, du Schmach des Hauses deines Herrn!(dhs) Isa 22:18 He will surely turn violently and toss you like a ball Into a large country; There you shall die, and there your glorious chariots Shall be the shame of your master's house.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:19 ============ Isa 22:19 "I will depose you from your office, And I will pull you down from your station. (nas) Isa 22:19 καὶ ἀφαιρεθήσῃ ἐκ τῆς οἰκονομίας σου καὶ ἐκ τῆς στάσεώς σου (lxx) Isa 22:19 Et expellam te de statione tua, et de ministerio tuo deponam te.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:19 And I wil driue thee from thy station, and out of thy dwelling will he destroy thee.(Geneva) Isa 22:19 Und ich will dich von deinem Stande stürzen, und von deinem Amt will ich dich setzen.(dhs) Isa 22:19 So I will drive you out of your office, And from your position he will pull you down.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:20 ============ Isa 22:20 "Then it will come about in that day, That I will summon My servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, (nas) Isa 22:20 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καλέσω τὸν παῖδά μου Ελιακιμ τὸν τοῦ Χελκιου (lxx) Isa 22:20 Et erit in die illa: vocabo servum meum Eliacim, filium Helciæ,(vulgate) Isaiah 22:20 And in that day will I call my seruant Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah,(Geneva) Isa 22:20 Und zu der Zeit will ich rufen meinen Knecht Eljakim, den Sohn Hilkias,(dhs) Isa 22:20 'Then it shall be in that day, That I will call My servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:21 ============ Isa 22:21 And I will clothe him with your tunic And tie your sash securely about him. I will entrust him with your authority, And he will become a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. (nas) Isa 22:21 καὶ ἐνδύσω αὐτὸν τὴν στολήν σου καὶ τὸν στέφανόν σου δώσω αὐτῷ καὶ τὸ κράτος καὶ τὴν οἰκονομίαν σου δώσω εἰς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔσται ὡς πατὴρ τοῖς ἐνοικοῦσιν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τοῖς ἐνοικοῦσιν ἐν Ιουδα (lxx) Isa 22:21 et induam illum tunica tua, et cingulo tuo confortabo eum, et potestatem tuam dabo in manu ejus; et erit quasi pater habitantibus Jerusalem et domui Juda.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:21 And with thy garments will I clothe him, and with thy girdle will I strengthen him: thy power also will I commit into his hande, and hee shalbe a father of the inhabitats of Ierusalem, and of the house of Iudah.(Geneva) Isa 22:21 und will ihm deinen Rock anziehen und ihn mit deinem Gürtel gürten und deine Gewalt in seine Hand geben, daß er Vater sei derer, die zu Jerusalem wohnen und des Hauses Juda.(dhs) Isa 22:21 I will clothe him with your robe And strengthen him with your belt; I will commit your responsibility into his hand. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem And to the house of Judah.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:22 ============ Isa 22:22 "Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, When he opens no one will shut, When he shuts no one will open. (nas) Isa 22:22 καὶ δώσω τὴν δόξαν Δαυιδ αὐτῷ καὶ ἄρξει καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ἀντιλέγων (lxx) Isa 22:22 Et dabo clavem domus David super humerum ejus; et aperiet, et non erit qui claudat; et claudet, et non erit qui aperiat.(vulgate) Isaiah 22:22 And the key of the house of Dauid will I lay vpon his shoulder: so hee shall open, and no ma shal shut: & he shal shut, & no man shal open.(Geneva) Isa 22:22 Und ich will die Schlüssel zum Hause Davids auf seine Schulter legen, daß er auftue und niemand zuschließe, daß er zuschließe und niemand auftue.(dhs) Isa 22:22 The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; So he shall open, and no one shall shut; And he shall shut, and no one shall open.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 22:23 ============ Isa 22:23 "I will drive him like a peg in a firm place, And he will become a throne of glory to his father's house.
