Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud and is about to come to Egypt; The idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, And the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them. (nas) Isa 19:1 ὅρασις Αἰγύπτου ἰδοὺ κύριος κάθηται ἐπὶ νεφέλης κούφης καὶ ἥξει εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ σεισθήσεται τὰ χειροποίητα Αἰγύπτου ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ἡττηθήσεται ἐν αὐτοῖς (lxx) Isa 19:1 Onus Ægypti. [Ecce Dominus ascendet super nubem levem, et ingredietur Ægyptum, et commovebuntur simulacra Ægypti a facie ejus, et cor Ægypti tabescet in medio ejus,(vulgate) Isaiah 19:1 The burden of Egypt. (nas) Isa 19:2 καὶ ἐπεγερθήσονται Αἰγύπτιοι ἐπ᾽ Αἰγυπτίους καὶ πολεμήσει ἄνθρωπος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἄνθρωπος τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ πόλις ἐπὶ πόλιν καὶ νομὸς ἐπὶ νομόν (lxx) Isa 19:2 et concurrere faciam Ægyptios adversus Ægyptios; et pugnabit vir contra fratrem suum, et vir contra amicum suum, civitas adversus civitatem, regnum adversus regnum.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: so euery one shall fight against his brother, and euery one against his neighbour, citie against citie, and kingdome against kingdome.(Geneva) Isa 19:2 Und ich will die Ägypter aneinander hetzen, daß ein Bruder gegen den andern, ein Freund gegen den andern, eine Stadt gegen die andere, ein Reich gegen das andere streiten wird.(dhs) Isa 19:2 "I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:3 ============ Isa 19:3 "Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; And I will confound their strategy, So that they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead And to mediums and spiritists. (nas) Isa 19:3 καὶ ταραχθήσεται τὸ πνεῦμα τῶν Αἰγυπτίων ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ τὴν βουλὴν αὐτῶν διασκεδάσω καὶ ἐπερωτήσουσιν τοὺς θεοὺς αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ ἀγάλματα αὐτῶν καὶ τοὺς ἐκ τῆς γῆς φωνοῦντας καὶ τοὺς ἐγγαστριμύθους (lxx) Isa 19:3 Et dirumpetur spiritus Ægypti in visceribus ejus, et consilium ejus præcipitabo; et interrogabunt simulacra sua, et divinos suos, et pythones, et ariolos.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:3 And the spirite of Egypt shall faile in the middes of her, and I will destroy their counsell, and they shall seeke at the idoles, and at the sorcerers, and at them that haue spirits of diuination, and at the southsayers.(Geneva) Isa 19:3 Und der Mut soll den Ägyptern in ihrem Herzen vergehen, und ich will ihre Anschläge zunichte machen. Da werden sie dann fragen ihre Götzen und Pfaffen und Wahrsager und Zeichendeuter.(dhs) Isa 19:3 The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:4 ============ Isa 19:4 "Moreover, I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel master, And a mighty king will rule over them," declares the Lord God of hosts. (nas) Isa 19:4 καὶ παραδώσω Αἴγυπτον εἰς χεῖρας ἀνθρώπων κυρίων σκληρῶν καὶ βασιλεῖς σκληροὶ κυριεύσουσιν αὐτῶν τάδε λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ (lxx) Isa 19:4 Et tradam Ægyptum in manu dominorum crudelium, et rex fortis dominabitur eorum, ait Dominus Deus exercituum.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:4 And I will deliuer the Egyptians into the hand of the cruell Lordes, & a mightie King shall rule ouer them, sayth the Lord God of hostes.(Geneva) Isa 19:4 Aber ich will die Ägypter übergeben in die Hände grausamer Herren, und ein harter König soll über sie herrschen, spricht der Herrscher, der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Isa 19:4 And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them," Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:5 ============ Isa 19:5 The waters from the sea will dry up, And the river will be parched and dry. (nas) Isa 19:5 καὶ πίονται οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ὕδωρ τὸ παρὰ θάλασσαν ὁ δὲ ποταμὸς ἐκλείψει καὶ ξηρανθήσεται (lxx) Isa 19:5 Et arescet aqua de mari, et fluvius desolabitur atque siccabitur.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:5 Then the waters of the sea shall faile, and the riuers shall be dryed vp, and wasted.(Geneva) Isa 19:5 Und das Wasser in den Seen wird vertrocknen; dazu der Strom wird versiegen und verschwinden.(dhs) Isa 19:5 The waters will fail from the sea, And the river will be wasted and dried up.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:6 ============ Isa 19:6 The canals will emit a stench, The streams of Egypt will thin out and dry up; The reeds and rushes will rot away. (nas) Isa 19:6 καὶ ἐκλείψουσιν οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ αἱ διώρυγες τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ ξηρανθήσεται πᾶσα συναγωγὴ ὕδατος καὶ ἐν παντὶ ἕλει καλάμου καὶ παπύρου (lxx) Isa 19:6 Et deficient flumina, attenuabuntur et siccabuntur rivi aggerum, calamus et juncus marcescet.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:6 And the riuers shall goe farre away: the riuers of defence shalbe emptied and dryed vp: the reedes and flagges shall be cut downe.(Geneva) Isa 19:6 Und die Wasser werden verlaufen, daß die Flüsse Ägyptens werden gering und trocken werden, daß Rohr und Schilf verwelken,(dhs) Isa 19:6 The rivers will turn foul; The brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up; The reeds and rushes will wither.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:7 ============ Isa 19:7 The bulrushes by the Nile, by the edge of the Nile And all the sown fields by the Nile Will become dry, be driven away, and be no more. (nas) Isa 19:7 καὶ τὸ ἄχι τὸ χλωρὸν πᾶν τὸ κύκλῳ τοῦ ποταμοῦ καὶ πᾶν τὸ σπειρόμενον διὰ τοῦ ποταμοῦ ξηρανθήσεται ἀνεμόφθορον (lxx) Isa 19:7 Nudabitur alveus rivi a fonte suo, et omnis sementis irrigua siccabitur, arescet, et non erit.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:7 The grasse in the riuer, and at the head of the riuers, and all that groweth by the riuer, shall wither, and be driuen away, and be no more.(Geneva) Isa 19:7 und das Gras an den Wassern wird verstieben, und alle Saat am Wasser wird verdorren und zunichte werden.(dhs) Isa 19:7 The papyrus reeds by the River, by the mouth of the River, And everything sown by the River, Will wither, be driven away, and be no more.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:8 ============ Isa 19:8 And the fishermen will lament, And all those who cast a line into the Nile will mourn, And those who spread nets on the waters will pine away. (nas) Isa 19:8 καὶ στενάξουσιν οἱ ἁλεεῖς καὶ στενάξουσιν πάντες οἱ βάλλοντες ἄγκιστρον εἰς τὸν ποταμόν καὶ οἱ βάλλοντες σαγήνας καὶ οἱ ἀμφιβολεῖς πενθήσουσιν (lxx) Isa 19:8 Et mœrebunt piscatores, et lugebunt omnes mittentes in flumen hamum; et expandentes rete super faciem aquarum emarcescent.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:8 The fishers also shall mourne, and all they that cast angle into the riuer, shall lament, and they that spread their nette vpon the waters, shall be weakened.(Geneva) Isa 19:8 Und die Fischer werden trauern; und alle die, so Angeln ins Wasser werfen, werden klagen; und die, so Netze auswerfen aufs Wasser, werden betrübt sein.(dhs) Isa 19:8 The fishermen also will mourn; All those will lament who cast hooks into the River, And they will languish who spread nets on the waters.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:9 ============ Isa 19:9 Moreover, the manufacturers of linen made from combed flax And the weavers of white cloth will be utterly dejected. (nas) Isa 19:9 καὶ αἰσχύνη λήμψεται τοὺς ἐργαζομένους τὸ λίνον τὸ σχιστὸν καὶ τοὺς ἐργαζομένους τὴν βύσσον (lxx) Isa 19:9 Confundentur qui operabantur linum, pectentes et texentes subtilia.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:9 Moreouer, they that worke in flaxe of diuers sortes, shall be confounded, and they that weaue nettes.(Geneva) Isa 19:9 Es werden mit Schanden bestehen, die da gute Garne wirken und Netze stricken.(dhs) Isa 19:9 Moreover those who work in fine flax And those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:10 ============ Isa 19:10 And the pillars of Egypt will be crushed; All the hired laborers will be grieved in soul. (nas) Isa 19:10 καὶ ἔσονται οἱ διαζόμενοι αὐτὰ ἐν ὀδύνῃ καὶ πάντες οἱ τὸν ζῦθον ποιοῦντες λυπηθήσονται καὶ τὰς ψυχὰς πονέσουσιν (lxx) Isa 19:10 Et erunt irrigua ejus flaccentia: omnes qui faciebant lacunas ad capiendos pisces.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:10 For their nettes shalbe broken, and all they, that make pondes, shalbe heauie in heart.(Geneva) Isa 19:10 Und des Landes Pfeiler werden zerschlagen; und alle, die um Lohn arbeiten, werden bekümmert sein.(dhs) Isa 19:10 And its foundations will be broken. All who make wages will be troubled of soul.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:11 ============ Isa 19:11 The princes of Zoan are mere fools; The advice of Pharaoh's wisest advisers has become stupid. How can you men say to Pharaoh, "I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings"? (nas) Isa 19:11 καὶ μωροὶ ἔσονται οἱ ἄρχοντες Τάνεως οἱ σοφοὶ σύμβουλοι τοῦ βασιλέως ἡ βουλὴ αὐτῶν μωρανθήσεται πῶς ἐρεῖτε τῷ βασιλεῖ υἱοὶ συνετῶν ἡμεῖς υἱοὶ βασιλέων τῶν ἐξ ἀρχῆς (lxx) Isa 19:11 Stulti principes Taneos, sapientes consiliarii Pharaonis dederunt consilium insipiens. Quomodo dicetis Pharaoni: Filius sapientium ego, filius regum antiquorum?(vulgate) Isaiah 19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fooles: the counsell of the wise counselers of Pharaoh is become foolish: how say ye vnto Pharaoh, I am the sonne of the wise? I am the sonne of the ancient Kings?(Geneva) Isa 19:11 Die Fürsten zu Zoan sind Toren; die weisen Räte Pharaos sind im Rat zu Narren geworden. Was sagt ihr doch zu Pharao: Ich bin der Weisen Kind und komme von alten Königen her?(dhs) Isa 19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools; Pharaoh's wise counselors give foolish counsel. Please let them tell you, And let them understand what the Lord of hosts Has purposed against Egypt. (nas) Isa 19:12 ποῦ εἰσιν νῦν οἱ σοφοί σου καὶ ἀναγγειλάτωσάν σοι καὶ εἰπάτωσαν τί βεβούλευται κύριος σαβαωθ ἐπ᾽ Αἴγυπτον (lxx) Isa 19:12 Ubi nunc sunt sapientes tui? annuntient tibi, et indicent quid cogitaverit Dominus exercituum super Ægyptum.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:12 Where are nowe thy wise men, that they may tell thee, or may knowe what the Lorde of hostes hath determined against Egypt?(Geneva) Isa 19:12 Wo sind denn nun deine Weisen? Laß sie dir's verkündigen und anzeigen, was der HERR Zebaoth über Ägypten beschlossen hat.(dhs) Isa 19:12 Where are they? Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now, And let them know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:13 ============ Isa 19:13 The princes of Zoan have acted foolishly, The princes of Memphis are deluded; Those who are the cornerstone of her tribes Have led Egypt astray. (nas) Isa 19:13 ἐξέλιπον οἱ ἄρχοντες Τάνεως καὶ ὑψώθησαν οἱ ἄρχοντες Μέμφεως καὶ πλανήσουσιν Αἴγυπτον κατὰ φυλάς (lxx) Isa 19:13 Stulti facti sunt principes Taneos, emarcuerunt principes Mempheos; deceperunt Ægyptum, angulum populorum ejus.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:13 The princes of Zoan are become fooles: the princes of Noph are deceiued, they haue deceiued Egypt, euen the corners of the tribes thereof.(Geneva) Isa 19:13 Aber die Fürsten zu Zoan sind zu Narren geworden, die Fürsten zu Noph sind betrogen; es verführen Ägypten die Ecksteine seiner Geschlechter.(dhs) Isa 19:13 The princes of Zoan have become fools; The princes of Noph are deceived; They have also deluded Egypt, Those who are the mainstay of its tribes.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:14 ============ Isa 19:14 The Lord has mixed within her a spirit of distortion; They have led Egypt astray in all that it does, As a drunken man staggers in his vomit. (nas) Isa 19:16 τῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσονται οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι ὡς γυναῖκες ἐν φόβῳ καὶ ἐν τρόμῳ ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς χειρὸς κυρίου σαβαωθ ἣν αὐτὸς ἐπιβαλεῖ αὐτοῖς (lxx) Isa 19:16 In die illa erit Ægyptus quasi mulieres; et stupebunt, et timebunt a facie commotionis manus Domini exercituum, quam ipse movebit super eam.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:16 In that day shall Egypt be like vnto women: for it shall be afraide and feare because of the moouing of the hand of the Lorde of hostes, which he shaketh ouer it.(Geneva) Isa 19:16 Zu der Zeit wird Ägypten sein wie Weiber und sich fürchten und erschrecken, wenn der HERR Zebaoth die Hand über sie schwingen wird.(dhs) Isa 19:16 In that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He waves over it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:17 ============ Isa 19:17 The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt; everyone to whom it is mentioned will be in dread of it, because of the purpose of the Lord of hosts which He is purposing against them. (nas) Isa 19:17 καὶ ἔσται ἡ χώρα τῶν Ιουδαίων τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις εἰς φόβητρον πᾶς ὃς ἐὰν ὀνομάσῃ αὐτὴν αὐτοῖς φοβηθήσονται διὰ τὴν βουλήν ἣν βεβούλευται κύριος ἐπ᾽ αὐτήν (lxx) Isa 19:17 Et erit terra Juda Ægypto in pavorem; omnis qui illius fuerit recordatus pavebit a facie consilii Domini exercituum, quod ipse cogitavit super eam.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:17 And the land of Iudah shall be a feare vnto Egypt: euery one that maketh mention of it, shalbe afraid thereat, because of ye counsell of the Lord of hostes, which he hath determined vpon it.(Geneva) Isa 19:17 Und Ägypten wird sich fürchten vor dem Lande Juda, daß, wer desselben gedenkt, wird davor erschrecken über den Rat des HERRN Zebaoth, den er über sie beschlossen hat.(dhs) Isa 19:17 And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts which He has determined against it.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:18 ============ Isa 19:18 In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Canaan and swearing allegiance to the Lord of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction. (nas) Isa 19:18 τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσονται πέντε πόλεις ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ λαλοῦσαι τῇ γλώσσῃ τῇ Χανανίτιδι καὶ ὀμνύουσαι τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου πόλισ-ασεδεκ κληθήσεται ἡ μία πόλις (lxx) Isa 19:18 In die illa erunt quinque civitates in terra Ægypti loquentes lingua Chanaan, et jurantes per Dominum exercituum: Civitas solis vocabitur una.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:18 In that day shall fiue cities in the lande of Egypt speake the language of Canaan, and shall sweare by the Lord of hostes. one shall be called the citie of destruction.(Geneva) Isa 19:18 Zu der Zeit werden fünf Städte in Ägyptenland reden nach der Sprache Kanaans und schwören bei dem HERRN Zebaoth. Eine wird heißen Ir-Heres.(dhs) Isa 19:18 In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by the Lord of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:19 ============ Isa 19:19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord near its border. (nas) Isa 19:19 τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσται θυσιαστήριον τῷ κυρίῳ ἐν χώρᾳ Αἰγυπτίων καὶ στήλη πρὸς τὸ ὅριον αὐτῆς τῷ κυρίῳ (lxx) Isa 19:19 In die illa erit altare Domini in medio terræ Ægypti, et titulus Domini juxta terminum ejus.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:19 In that day shall the altar of the Lorde be in the middes of the land of Egypt, and a pillar by the border thereof vnto the Lord.(Geneva) Isa 19:19 Zu derselben Zeit wird des HERRN Altar mitten in Ägyptenland sein und ein Malstein des HERRN an den Grenzen,(dhs) Isa 19:19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:20 ============ Isa 19:20 It will become a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them. (nas) Isa 19:20 καὶ ἔσται εἰς σημεῖον εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα κυρίῳ ἐν χώρᾳ Αἰγύπτου ὅτι κεκράξονται πρὸς κύριον διὰ τοὺς θλίβοντας αὐτούς καὶ ἀποστελεῖ αὐτοῖς κύριος ἄνθρωπον ὃς σώσει αὐτούς κρίνων σώσει αὐτούς (lxx) Isa 19:20 Erit in signum et in testimonium Domino exercituum in terra Ægypti; clamabunt enim ad Dominum a facie tribulationis, et mittet eis salvatorem et propugnatorem qui liberet eos.(vulgate) Isaiah 19:20 And it shall be for a signe and for a witnes vnto the Lord of hostes in the land of Egypt: for they shall crie vnto the Lorde, because of the oppressers, and he shall send them a Sauiour and a great man, and shall deliuer them.(Geneva) Isa 19:20 welcher wird ein Zeichen und Zeugnis sein dem HERR Zebaoth in Ägyptenland. Denn sie werden zum HERRN schreien vor den Drängern, so wird er ihnen senden einen Heiland und Meister, der sie errette.(dhs) Isa 19:20 And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 19:21 ============ Isa 19:21 Thus the Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day. They will even worship with sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.
