(nas) Isa 17:1 τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ κατὰ Δαμασκοῦ ἰδοὺ Δαμασκὸς ἀρθήσεται ἀπὸ πόλεων καὶ ἔσται εἰς πτῶσιν (lxx) Isa 17:1 Onus Damasci. [Ecce Damascus desinet esse civitas, et erit sicut acervus lapidum in ruina.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus. (nas) Isa 17:3 καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσται ὀχυρὰ τοῦ καταφυγεῖν Εφραιμ καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσται βασιλεία ἐν Δαμασκῷ καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν τῶν Σύρων ἀπολεῖται οὐ γὰρ σὺ βελτίων εἶ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ τῆς δόξης αὐτῶν τάδε λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ (lxx) Isa 17:3 Et cessabit adjutorium ab Ephraim, et regnum a Damasco; et reliquiæ Syriæ sicut gloria filiorum Israël erunt, dicit Dominus exercituum.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:3 The munition also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdome from Damascus, and the remnant of Aram shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, sayeth the Lord of hostes.(Geneva) Isa 17:3 Und es wird aus sein mit der Feste Ephraims; und das Königreich zu Damaskus und das übrige Syrien wird sein wie die Herrlichkeit der Kinder Israel, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.(dhs) Isa 17:3 The fortress also will cease from Ephraim, The kingdom from Damascus, And the remnant of Syria; They will be as the glory of the children of Israel," Says the Lord of hosts.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:4 ============ Isa 17:4 Now in that day the glory of Jacob will fade, And the fatness of his flesh will become lean. (nas) Isa 17:4 ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔκλειψις τῆς δόξης Ιακωβ καὶ τὰ πίονα τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ σεισθήσεται (lxx) Isa 17:4 Et erit in die illa: attenuabitur gloria Jacob, et pinguedo carnis ejus marcescet.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:4 And in that day the glorie of Iaakob shall be impouerished, and the fatnes of his flesh shalbe made leane.(Geneva) Isa 17:4 Zu der Zeit wird die Herrlichkeit Jakobs dünn sein, und sein fetter Leib wird mager sein.(dhs) Isa 17:4 "In that day it shall come to pass That the glory of Jacob will wane, And the fatness of his flesh grow lean.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:5 ============ Isa 17:5 It will be even like the reaper gathering the standing grain, As his arm harvests the ears, Or it will be like one gleaning ears of grain In the valley of Rephaim. (nas) Isa 17:5 καὶ ἔσται ὃν τρόπον ἐάν τις συναγάγῃ ἀμητὸν ἑστηκότα καὶ σπέρμα σταχύων ἐν τῷ βραχίονι αὐτοῦ ἀμήσῃ καὶ ἔσται ὃν τρόπον ἐάν τις συναγάγῃ στάχυν ἐν φάραγγι στερεᾷ (lxx) Isa 17:5 Et erit sicut congregans in messe quod restiterit, et brachium ejus spicas leget; et erit sicut quærens spicas in valle Raphaim.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:5 And it shalbe as when the haruest man gathereth the corne, and reapeth the eares with his arme, and he shall be as he that gathereth the eares in the valley of Rephaim.(Geneva) Isa 17:5 Denn sie wird sein, als wenn einer Getreide einsammelte in der Ernte, und als wenn einer mit seinem Arm die Ähren einerntete, und als wenn einer Ähren läse im Tal Rephaim(dhs) Isa 17:5 It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain, And reaps the heads with his arm; It shall be as he who gathers heads of grain In the Valley of Rephaim.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:6 ============ Isa 17:6 Yet gleanings will be left in it like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives on the topmost bough, Four or five on the branches of a fruitful tree, Declares the Lord, the God of Israel. (nas) Isa 17:6 καὶ καταλειφθῇ ἐν αὐτῇ καλάμη ἢ ὡς ῥῶγες ἐλαίας δύο ἢ τρεῖς ἐπ᾽ ἄκρου μετεώρου ἢ τέσσαρες ἢ πέντε ἐπὶ τῶν κλάδων αὐτῶν καταλειφθῇ τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ (lxx) Isa 17:6 Et relinquetur in eo sicut racemus et sicut excussio oleæ duarum vel trium olivarum in summitate rami, sive quatuor aut quinque in cacuminibus ejus fructus ejus, dicit Dominus Deus Israël.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:6 Yet a gathering of grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an oliue tree, two or three beries are in the top of the vpmost boughes, & foure or fiue in the hie branches of the fruite thereof, sayeth the Lord God of Israel.(Geneva) Isa 17:6 und die Nachernte darin bliebe; als wenn man einen Ölbaum schüttelte, daß zwei oder drei Beeren blieben oben in dem Wipfel, oder als wenn vier oder fünf Früchte an den Zweigen hangen, spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels.(dhs) Isa 17:6 Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it, Like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough, Four or five in its most fruitful branches," Says the Lord God of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:7 ============ Isa 17:7 In that day man will have regard for his Maker And his eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel. (nas) Isa 17:7 τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ πεποιθὼς ἔσται ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ τῷ ποιήσαντι αὐτόν οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν ἅγιον τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐμβλέψονται (lxx) Isa 17:7 In die illa inclinabitur homo ad factorem suum, et oculi ejus ad Sanctum Israël respicient;(vulgate) Isaiah 17:7 At that day shal a man looke to his maker, and his eyes shall looke to the holy one of Israel.(Geneva) Isa 17:7 Zu der Zeit wird sich der Mensch halten zu dem, der ihn gemacht hat, und seine Augen werden auf den Heiligen in Israel schauen,(dhs) Isa 17:7 In that day a man will look to his Maker, And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:8 ============ Isa 17:8 He will not have regard for the altars, the work of his hands, Nor will he look to that which his fingers have made, Even the Asherim and incense stands. (nas) Isa 17:8 καὶ οὐ μὴ πεποιθότες ὦσιν ἐπὶ τοῖς βωμοῖς οὐδὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν ἃ ἐποίησαν οἱ δάκτυλοι αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται τὰ δένδρα αὐτῶν οὐδὲ τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτῶν (lxx) Isa 17:8 et non inclinabitur ad altaria quæ fecerunt manus ejus; et quæ operati sunt digiti ejus non respiciet lucos et delubra.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:8 And hee shall not looke to the altars, the workes of his owne hands, neither shall he looke to those thinges, which his owne fingers haue made, as groues and images.(Geneva) Isa 17:8 und wird sich nicht halten zu den Altären, die seine Hände gemacht haben, und nicht schauen auf das, was seine Finger gemacht haben, weder auf Ascherabilder noch Sonnensäulen.(dhs) Isa 17:8 He will not look to the altars, The work of his hands; He will not respect what his fingers have made, Nor the wooden images nor the incense altars.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:9 ============ Isa 17:9 In that day their strong cities will be like forsaken places in the forest, Or like branches which they abandoned before the sons of Israel; And the land will be a desolation. (nas) Isa 17:9 τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις σου ἐγκαταλελειμμέναι ὃν τρόπον ἐγκατέλιπον οἱ Αμορραῖοι καὶ οἱ Ευαῖοι ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἔσονται ἔρημοι (lxx) Isa 17:9 In die illa erunt civitates fortitudinis ejus derelictæ sicut aratra, et segetes quæ derelictæ sunt a facie filiorum Israël; et eris deserta.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:9 In that day shall the cities of their strength be as the forsaking of boughes & branches, which they did forsake, because of the children of Israel, and there shall be desolation.(Geneva) Isa 17:9 Zu der Zeit werden die Städte ihrer Stärke sein wie verlassene Burgen im Wald und auf der Höhe, so verlassen wurden vor den Kindern Israel, und werden wüst sein.(dhs) Isa 17:9 In that day his strong cities will be as a forsaken bough And an uppermost branch, Which they left because of the children of Israel; And there will be desolation.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:10 ============ Isa 17:10 For you have forgotten the God of your salvation And have not remembered the rock of your refuge. Therefore you plant delightful plants And set them with vine slips of a strange god. (nas) Isa 17:10 διότι κατέλιπες τὸν θεὸν τὸν σωτῆρά σου καὶ κυρίου τοῦ βοηθοῦ σου οὐκ ἐμνήσθης διὰ τοῦτο φυτεύσεις φύτευμα ἄπιστον καὶ σπέρμα ἄπιστον (lxx) Isa 17:10 Quia oblitus es Dei salvatoris tui, et fortis adjutoris tui non es recordata: propterea plantabis plantationem fidelem, et germen alienum seminabis;(vulgate) Isaiah 17:10 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy saluation, and hast not remembred the God of thy strength, therefore shalt thou set pleasant plantes, and shalt graffe strange vine branches:(Geneva) Isa 17:10 Denn du hast vergessen des Gottes deines Heils und nicht gedacht an den Felsen deiner Stärke. Darum setzest du lustige Pflanzen und legest ausländische Reben.(dhs) Isa 17:10 Because you have forgotten the God of your salvation, And have not been mindful of the Rock of your stronghold, Therefore you will plant pleasant plants And set out foreign seedlings;(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:11 ============ Isa 17:11 In the day that you plant it you carefully fence it in, And in the morning you bring your seed to blossom; But the harvest will be a heap In a day of sickliness and incurable pain. (nas) Isa 17:11 τῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἂν φυτεύσῃς πλανηθήσῃ τὸ δὲ πρωί ἐὰν σπείρῃς ἀνθήσει εἰς ἀμητὸν ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ κληρώσῃ καὶ ὡς πατὴρ ἀνθρώπου κληρώσῃ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου (lxx) Isa 17:11 in die plantationis tuæ labrusca, et mane semen tuum florebit; ablata est messis in die hæreditatis, et dolebit graviter.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:11 In the day shalt thou make thy plant to growe, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seede to florish: but the haruest shall be gone in the day of possession, and there shalbe desperate sorrowe.(Geneva) Isa 17:11 Zur Zeit des Pflanzens wirst du sein wohl warten, daß der Same zeitig wachse; aber in der Ernte, wenn du die Garben sollst erben, wirst du dafür Schmerzen eines Betrübten haben.(dhs) Isa 17:11 In the day you will make your plant to grow, And in the morning you will make your seed to flourish; But the harvest will be a heap of ruins In the day of grief and desperate sorrow.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 17:12 ============ Isa 17:12 Alas, the uproar of many peoples Who roar like the roaring of the seas, And the rumbling of nations Who rush on like the rumbling of mighty waters! (nas) Isa 17:12 οὐαὶ πλῆθος ἐθνῶν πολλῶν ὡς θάλασσα κυμαίνουσα οὕτως ταραχθήσεσθε καὶ νῶτος ἐθνῶν πολλῶν ὡς ὕδωρ ἠχήσει (lxx) Isa 17:12 Væ multitudini populorum multorum, ut multitudo maris sonantis; et tumultus turbarum, sicut sonitus aquarum multarum.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:12 Ah, the multitude of many people, they shall make a sounde like the noyse of the sea: for the noyse of the people shall make a sounde like the noyse of mightie waters.(Geneva) Isa 17:12 O weh der Menge so großen Volks! (nas) Isa 17:13 ὡς ὕδωρ πολὺ ἔθνη πολλά ὡς ὕδατος πολλοῦ βίᾳ καταφερομένου καὶ ἀποσκορακιεῖ αὐτὸν καὶ πόρρω αὐτὸν διώξεται ὡς χνοῦν ἀχύρου λικμώντων ἀπέναντι ἀνέμου καὶ ὡς κονιορτὸν τροχοῦ καταιγὶς φέρουσα (lxx) Isa 17:13 Sonabunt populi sicut sonitus aquarum inundantium, et increpabit eum, et fugiet procul; et rapietur sicut pulvis montium a facie venti, et sicut turbo coram tempestate.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:13 The people shall make a sounde like the noise of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee farre off, and shalbe chased as the chaffe of the mountaines before the winde, and as a rolling thing before the whirlewinde.(Geneva) Isa 17:13 Ja, wie große Wasser wüten, so werden die Leute wüten. Hæc est pars eorum qui vastaverunt nos, et sors diripientium nos.](vulgate) Isaiah 17:14 And loe, in the euening there is trouble: but afore the morning it is gone.
