(nas) Isa 16:2 ἔσῃ γὰρ ὡς πετεινοῦ ἀνιπταμένου νεοσσὸς ἀφῃρημένος θύγατερ Μωαβ ἔπειτα δέ Αρνων (lxx) Isa 16:2 Et erit: sicut avis fugiens, et pulli de nido avolantes, sic erunt filiæ Moab in transcensu Arnon.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:2 For it shall be as a birde that flieth, and a nest forsaken: the daughters of Moab shall be at the foordes of Arnon.(Geneva) Isa 16:2 Aber wie ein Vogel dahinfliegt, der aus dem Nest getrieben wird, so werden sein die Töchter Moabs in den Furten des Arnon.(dhs) Isa 16:2 For it shall be as a wandering bird thrown out of the nest; So shall be the daughters of Moab at the fords of the Arnon.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:3 ============ Isa 16:3 "Give us advice, make a decision; Cast your shadow like night at high noon; Hide the outcasts, do not betray the fugitive. (nas) Isa 16:3 πλείονα βουλεύου ποιεῖτε σκέπην πένθους αὐτῇ διὰ παντός ἐν μεσημβρινῇ σκοτίᾳ φεύγουσιν ἐξέστησαν μὴ ἀπαχθῇς (lxx) Isa 16:3 Ini consilium, coge concilium; pone quasi noctem umbram tuam in meridie; absconde fugientes, et vagos ne prodas.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:3 Gather a cousel, execute iudgement: make thy shadowe as the night in the midday: hide them that are chased out: bewray not him that is fled.(Geneva) Isa 16:3 "Sammelt Rat, haltet Gericht, mache deinen Schatten des Mittags wie die Nacht; verbirg die Verjagten, und melde die Flüchtlinge nicht!(dhs) Isa 16:3 "Take counsel, execute judgment; Make your shadow like the night in the middle of the day; Hide the outcasts, Do not betray him who escapes.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:4 ============ Isa 16:4 "Let the outcasts of Moab stay with you; Be a hiding place to them from the destroyer." For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased, Oppressors have completely disappeared from the land. (nas) Isa 16:4 παροικήσουσίν σοι οἱ φυγάδες Μωαβ ἔσονται σκέπη ὑμῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου διώκοντος ὅτι ἤρθη ἡ συμμαχία σου καὶ ὁ ἄρχων ἀπώλετο ὁ καταπατῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς (lxx) Isa 16:4 Habitabunt apud te profugi mei; Moab, esto latibulum eorum a facie vastatoris: finitus est enim pulvis, consummatus est miser, defecit qui conculcabat terram.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:4 Let my banished dwell with thee: Moab be thou their couert from the face of the destroyer: for the extortioner shall ende: the destroyer shalbe consumed, and the oppressour shall cease out of the land.(Geneva) Isa 16:4 Laß meine Verjagten bei dir herbergen; sei du für Moab ein Schirm vor dem Verstörer, so wird der Dränger ein Ende haben, der Verstörer aufhören und der Untertreter ablassen im Lande."(dhs) Isa 16:4 Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Moab; Be a shelter to them from the face of the spoiler. For the extortioner is at an end, Devastation ceases, The oppressors are consumed out of the land.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:5 ============ Isa 16:5 A throne will even be established in lovingkindness, And a judge will sit on it in faithfulness in the tent of David; Moreover, he will seek justice And be prompt in righteousness. (nas) Isa 16:5 καὶ διορθωθήσεται μετ᾽ ἐλέους θρόνος καὶ καθίεται ἐπ᾽ αὐτοῦ μετὰ ἀληθείας ἐν σκηνῇ Δαυιδ κρίνων καὶ ἐκζητῶν κρίμα καὶ σπεύδων δικαιοσύνην (lxx) Isa 16:5 Et præparabitur in misericordia solium, et sedebit super illud in veritate in tabernaculo David, judicans et quærens judicium, et velociter reddens quod justum est.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:5 And in mercy shall the throne be prepared, and hee shall sit vpon it in stedfastnesse, in the tabernacle of Dauid, iudging, and seeking iudgement, and hasting iustice.(Geneva) Isa 16:5 Es wird aber ein Stuhl bereitet werden aus Gnaden, daß einer darauf sitze in der Wahrheit, in der Hütte Davids, und richte und trachte nach Recht und fördere Gerechtigkeit.(dhs) Isa 16:5 In mercy the throne will be established; And One will sit on it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, Judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness."(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:6 ============ Isa 16:6 We have heard of the pride of Moab, an excessive pride; Even of his arrogance, pride, and fury; His idle boasts are false. (nas) Isa 16:6 ἠκούσαμεν τὴν ὕβριν Μωαβ ὑβριστὴς σφόδρα τὴν ὑπερηφανίαν ἐξῆρας οὐχ οὕτως ἡ μαντεία σου (lxx) Isa 16:6 Audivimus superbiam Moab: superbus est valde; superbia ejus, et arrogantia ejus, et indignatio ejus plus quam fortitudo ejus.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:6 We haue heard of the pride of Moab, (he is very proud) euen his pride, and his arrogancie, and his indignation, but his lies shall not be so.(Geneva) Isa 16:6 Wir hören aber von dem Hochmut Moabs, daß er gar groß ist, daß auch ihr Hochmut, Stolz und Zorn größer ist denn ihre Macht.(dhs) Isa 16:6 We have heard of the pride of Moab-- He is very proud-- Of his haughtiness and his pride and his wrath; But his lies shall not be so.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:7 ============ Isa 16:7 Therefore Moab will wail; everyone of Moab will wail. You will moan for the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth As those who are utterly stricken. (nas) Isa 16:7 οὐχ οὕτως ὀλολύξει Μωαβ ἐν γὰρ τῇ Μωαβίτιδι πάντες ὀλολύξουσιν τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν Δεσεθ μελετήσεις καὶ οὐκ ἐντραπήσῃ (lxx) Isa 16:7 Idcirco ululabit Moab ad Moab; universus ululabit: his qui lætantur super muros cocti lateris, loquimini plagas suas.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:7 Therefore shall Moab howle vnto Moab: euery one shal howle: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shal ye mourne, yet they shalbe striken.(Geneva) Isa 16:7 Darum wird ein Moabiter über den andern heulen; allesamt werden sie Heulen. Über die Grundfesten der Stadt Kir-Hareseth werden sie seufzen, ganz zerschlagen.(dhs) Isa 16:7 Therefore Moab shall wail for Moab; Everyone shall wail. For the foundations of Kir Hareseth you shall mourn; Surely they are stricken.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:8 ============ Isa 16:8 For the fields of Heshbon have withered, the vines of Sibmah as well; The lords of the nations have trampled down its choice clusters Which reached as far as Jazer and wandered to the deserts; Its tendrils spread themselves out and passed over the sea. (nas) Isa 16:8 τὰ πεδία Εσεβων πενθήσει ἄμπελος Σεβαμα καταπίνοντες τὰ ἔθνη καταπατήσατε τὰς ἀμπέλους αὐτῆς ἕως Ιαζηρ οὐ μὴ συνάψητε πλανήθητε τὴν ἔρημον οἱ ἀπεσταλμένοι ἐγκατελείφθησαν διέβησαν γὰρ τὴν ἔρημον (lxx) Isa 16:8 Quoniam suburbana Hesebon deserta sunt, et vineam Sabama domini gentium exciderunt: flagella ejus usque ad Jazer pervenerunt, erraverunt in deserto; propagines ejus relictæ sunt, transierunt mare.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:8 For ye vineyards of Heshbon are cut downe, and the vine of Sibmah: the lordes of the heathen haue broken the principal vines thereof: they are come vnto Iaazer: they wandred in the wildernesse: her goodly branches stretched out them selues, and went ouer the sea.(Geneva) Isa 16:8 Denn Hesbon ist ein wüstes Feld geworden; der Weinstock zu Sibma ist verderbt; die Herren unter den Heiden haben seine edlen Reben zerschlagen, die da reichten bis gen Jaser und sich zogen in die Wüste; ihre Schößlinge sind zerstreut und über das Meer geführt.(dhs) Isa 16:8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, And the vine of Sibmah; The lords of the nations have broken down its choice plants, Which have reached to Jazer And wandered through the wilderness. Her branches are stretched out, They are gone over the sea.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:9 ============ Isa 16:9 Therefore I will weep bitterly for Jazer, for the vine of Sibmah; I will drench you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh; For the shouting over your summer fruits and your harvest has fallen away. (nas) Isa 16:9 διὰ τοῦτο κλαύσομαι ὡς τὸν κλαυθμὸν Ιαζηρ ἄμπελον Σεβαμα τὰ δένδρα σου κατέβαλεν Εσεβων καὶ Ελεαλη ὅτι ἐπὶ τῷ θερισμῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ τρυγήτῳ σου καταπατήσω καὶ πάντα πεσοῦνται (lxx) Isa 16:9 Super hoc plorabo in fletu Jazer vineam Sabama; inebriabo de lacrima mea, Hesebon et Eleale, quoniam super vindemiam tuam et super messem tuam vox calcantium irruit.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:9 Therefore will I weepe with the weeping of Iaazer, & of the vine of Sibmah, O Heshbon: and Elealeh, I will make thee drunke with my teares, because vpon thy sommer fruits, and vpon thy haruest a showting is fallen.(Geneva) Isa 16:9 Darum weine ich um Jaser und um den Weinstock zu Sibma und vergieße viel Tränen um Hesbon und Eleale. Denn es ist ein Gesang in deinen Sommer und in deine Ernte gefallen,(dhs) Isa 16:9 Therefore I will bewail the vine of Sibmah, With the weeping of Jazer; I will drench you with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh; For battle cries have fallen Over your summer fruits and your harvest.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:10 ============ Isa 16:10 Gladness and joy are taken away from the fruitful field; In the vineyards also there will be no cries of joy or jubilant shouting, No treader treads out wine in the presses, For I have made the shouting to cease. (nas) Isa 16:10 καὶ ἀρθήσεται εὐφροσύνη καὶ ἀγαλλίαμα ἐκ τῶν ἀμπελώνων σου καὶ ἐν τοῖς ἀμπελῶσίν σου οὐ μὴ εὐφρανθήσονται καὶ οὐ μὴ πατήσουσιν οἶνον εἰς τὰ ὑπολήνια πέπαυται γάρ (lxx) Isa 16:10 Et auferetur lætitia et exsultatio de Carmelo, et in vineis non exsultabit neque jubilabit. Vinum in torculari non calcabit qui calcare consueverat; vocem calcantium abstuli.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:10 And gladnes is taken away, and ioy out of the plentifull fielde: and in the vineyardes shall be no singing nor shouting for ioy: the treader shall not tread wine in the wine presses: I haue caused the reioycing to cease.(Geneva) Isa 16:10 daß Freude und Wonne im Felde aufhört, und in den Weinbergen jauchzt noch ruft man nicht. Man keltert keinen Wein in den Keltern; ich habe dem Gesang ein Ende gemacht.(dhs) Isa 16:10 Gladness is taken away, And joy from the plentiful field; In the vineyards there will be no singing, Nor will there be shouting; No treaders will tread out wine in the presses; I have made their shouting cease.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:11 ============ Isa 16:11 Therefore my heart intones like a harp for Moab And my inward feelings for Kir-hareseth. (nas) Isa 16:11 διὰ τοῦτο ἡ κοιλία μου ἐπὶ Μωαβ ὡς κιθάρα ἠχήσει καὶ τὰ ἐντός μου ὡσεὶ τεῖχος ὃ ἐνεκαίνισας (lxx) Isa 16:11 Super hoc venter meus ad Moab quasi cithara sonabit, et viscera mea ad murum cocti lateris.(vulgate) Isaiah 16:11 Wherefore, my bowels shall sounde like an harpe for Moab, and mine inwarde partes for Ker-haresh.(Geneva) Isa 16:11 Darum rauscht mein Herz über Moab wie eine Harfe und mein Inwendiges über Kir-Heres.(dhs) Isa 16:11 Therefore my heart shall resound like a harp for Moab, And my inner being for Kir Heres.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:12 ============ Isa 16:12 So it will come about when Moab presents himself, When he wearies himself upon his high place And comes to his sanctuary to pray, That he will not prevail. (nas) Isa 16:12 καὶ ἔσται εἰς τὸ ἐντραπῆναί σε ὅτι ἐκοπίασεν Μωαβ ἐπὶ τοῖς βωμοῖς καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτῆς ὥστε προσεύξασθαι καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνηται ἐξελέσθαι αὐτόν (lxx) Isa 16:12 Et erit: cum apparuerit quod laboravit Moab super excelsis suis, ingredietur ad sancta sua ut obsecret, et non valebit.](vulgate) Isaiah 16:12 And when it shall appeare that Moab shall be wearie of his hie places, then shall hee come to his temple to praie, but he shall not preuaile.(Geneva) Isa 16:12 Alsdann wird's offenbar werden, wie Moab müde ist bei den Altären und wie er zu seinem Heiligtum gegangen sei, zu beten, und doch nichts ausgerichtet habe.(dhs) Isa 16:12 And it shall come to pass, When it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, That he will come to his sanctuary to pray; But he will not prevail.(nkjv) ======= Isaiah 16:13 ============ Isa 16:13 This is the word which the Lord spoke earlier concerning Moab. [Ecce Damascus desinet esse civitas, et erit sicut acervus lapidum in ruina.(vulgate) Isaiah 17:1 The burden of Damascus.
