(nas) Dan 4:5 ἐνύπνιον εἶδον καὶ εὐλαβήθην καὶ φόβος μοι ἐπέπεσεν (lxx) Dan 4:5 donec collega ingressus est in conspectu meo Daniel, cui nomen Baltassar secundum nomen dei mei, qui habet spiritum deorum sanctorum in semetipso: et somnium coram ipso locutus sum.(vulgate) Daniel 4:5 (4:2) Saw a dreame, which made me afraide, and the thoughtes vpon my bed, and the visions of mine head troubled me.(Geneva) Dan 4:5 sah einen Traum und erschrak, und die Gedanken, die ich auf meinem Bett hatte, und das Gesicht, so ich gesehen hatte, betrübten mich.(dhs) Dan 4:5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts on my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:6 ============ Dan 4:6 So I gave orders to bring into my presence all the wise men of Babylon, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. (nas) Dan 4:6 -- (lxx) Dan 4:6 Baltassar, princeps ariolorum, quoniam ego scio quod spiritum sanctorum deorum habeas in te, et omne sacramentum non est impossibile tibi: visiones somniorum meorum, quas vidi, et solutionem earum narra.(vulgate) Daniel 4:6 (4:3) Therefore made I a decree, that they should bring all the wise men of Babel before mee, that they might declare vnto me the interpretation of the dreame.(Geneva) Dan 4:6 Und ich befahl, daß alle Weisen zu Babel vor mich hereingebracht würden, daß sie mir sagten, was der Traum bedeutet.(dhs) Dan 4:6 Therefore I issued a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:7 ============ Dan 4:7 Then the magicians, the conjurers, the Chaldeans and the diviners came in and I related the dream to them, but they could not make its interpretation known to me. (nas) Dan 4:7 -- (lxx) Dan 4:7 Visio capitis mei in cubili meo: videbam, et ecce arbor in medio terrae, et altitudo ejus nimia.(vulgate) Daniel 4:7 (4:4) So came the inchanters, the astrologians, the Caldeans and the sothsayers, to whom I tolde the dreame, but they could not shew me the interpretation thereof,(Geneva) Dan 4:7 Da brachte man herein die Sternseher, Weisen, Chaldäer und Wahrsager, und ich erzählte den Traum vor ihnen; aber sie konnten mir nicht sagen, was er bedeutete,(dhs) Dan 4:7 Then the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers came in, and I told them the dream; but they did not make known to me its interpretation.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:8 ============ Dan 4:8 But finally Daniel came in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and I related the dream to him, saying, (nas) Dan 4:8 -- (lxx) Dan 4:8 Magna arbor, et fortis, et proceritas ejus contingens caelum: aspectus illius erat usque ad terminos universae terrae.(vulgate) Daniel 4:8 (4:5) Till at the last Daniel came before mee, (whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, which hath the spirite of the holy gods in him) and before him I tolde the dreame, saying,(Geneva) Dan 4:8 bis zuletzt Dan el vor mich kam, welcher Beltsazar heißt nach dem Namen meines Gottes, der den Geist der heiligen Götter hat. Und ich erzählte vor ihm meinen Traum:(dhs) Dan 4:8 But at last Daniel came before me (his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying:(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:9 ============ Dan 4:9 'O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, since I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no mystery baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation. (nas) Dan 4:9 -- (lxx) Dan 4:9 Folia ejus pulcherrima, et fructus ejus nimius: et esca universorum in ea. Subter eam habitabant animalia et bestiae, et in ramis ejus conversabantur volucres caeli: et ex ea vescebatur omnis caro.(vulgate) Daniel 4:9 (4:6) O Belteshazzar, chiefe of the enchanters, because I know, that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell mee the visions of my dreame, that I haue seene and the interpretation thereof.(Geneva) Dan 4:9 Beltsazar, du Oberster unter den Sternsehern, von dem ich weiß, daß du den Geist der heiligen Götter hast und dir nichts verborgen ist, sage, was das Gesicht meines Traumes, das ich gesehen habe, bedeutet.(dhs) Dan 4:9 "Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:10 ============ Dan 4:10 'Now these were the visions in my mind as I lay on my bed: I was looking, and behold, there was a tree in the midst of the earth and its height was great. (nas) Dan 4:10 ἐκάθευδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δένδρον ὑψηλὸν φυόμενον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἡ ὅρασις αὐτοῦ μεγάλη καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἄλλο ὅμοιον αὐτῷ (lxx) Dan 4:10 Videbam in visione capitis mei super stratum meum, et ecce vigil, et sanctus, de caelo descendit.(vulgate) Daniel 4:10 (4:7) Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; beholde, I sawe a tree in the middes of the earth and the height thereof was great:(Geneva) Dan 4:10 Dies aber ist das Gesicht, das ich gesehen habe auf meinem Bette: Siehe, es stand ein Baum mitten im Lande, der war sehr hoch.(dhs) Dan 4:10 "These were the visions of my head while on my bed: "I was looking, and behold, A tree in the midst of the earth, And its height was great.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:11 ============ Dan 4:11 'The tree grew large and became strong And its height reached to the sky, And it was visible to the end of the whole earth. The beasts of the field found shade under it, And the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches, And all living creatures fed themselves from it. (nas) Dan 4:12 οἱ κλάδοι αὐτοῦ τῷ μήκει ὡς σταδίων τριάκοντα καὶ ὑποκάτω αὐτοῦ ἐσκίαζον πάντα τὰ θηρία τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐνόσσευον ὁ καρπὸς αὐτοῦ πολὺς καὶ ἀγαθὸς καὶ ἐχορήγει πᾶσι τοῖς ζῴοις (lxx) Dan 4:12 Verumtamen germen radicum ejus in terra sinite, et alligetur vinculo ferreo et aereo in herbis quae foris sunt, et rore caeli tingatur, et cum feris pars ejus in herba terrae.(vulgate) Daniel 4:12 (4:9) The boughes thereof were faire & the fruite thereof much, and in it was meate for all: it made a shadow vnder it for the beastes of the fielde, and the foules of the heauen dwelt in the boughes thereof, and all flesh fedde of it.(Geneva) Dan 4:12 Seine Äste waren schön und trugen viel Früchte, davon alles zu essen hatte; alle Tiere auf dem Felde fanden Schatten unter ihm, und die Vögel unter dem Himmel saßen auf seinen Ästen, und alles Fleisch nährte sich von ihm.(dhs) Dan 4:12 Its leaves were lovely, Its fruit abundant, And in it was food for all. (nas) Dan 4:13 ἐθεώρουν ἐν τῷ ὕπνῳ μου καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγελος ἀπεστάλη ἐν ἰσχύι ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ (lxx) Dan 4:13 Cor ejus ab humano commutetur, et cor ferae detur ei: et septem tempora mutentur super eum.(vulgate) Daniel 4:13 (4:10) I sawe in the visions of mine head vpon my bed, and beholde, a watchman and an holy one came downe from heauen,(Geneva) Dan 4:13 Und ich sah ein Gesicht auf meinem Bette, und siehe, ein heiliger Wächter fuhr vom Himmel herab;(dhs) Dan 4:13 "I saw in the visions of my head while on my bed, and there was a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:14 ============ Dan 4:14 'He shouted out and spoke as follows: Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Strip off its foliage and scatter its fruit; Let the beasts flee from under it And the birds from its branches. (nas) Dan 4:14 καὶ ἐφώνησε καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ἐκκόψατε αὐτὸ καὶ καταφθείρατε αὐτό προστέτακται γὰρ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὑψίστου ἐκριζῶσαι καὶ ἀχρειῶσαι αὐτό (lxx) Dan 4:14 In sententia vigilum decretum est, et sermo sanctorum, et petitio: donec cognoscant viventes quoniam dominatur Excelsus in regno hominum, et cuicumque voluerit, dabit illud, et humillimum hominem constituet super eum.(vulgate) Daniel 4:14 (4:11) And cried aloude, and said thus, Hew downe the tree, and breake off his branches: shake off his leaues, and scatter his fruite, that the beastes may flee from vnder it, and the foules from his branches.(Geneva) Dan 4:14 der rief überlaut und sprach also: Haut den Baum um und behaut ihm die Äste und streift ihm das Laub ab und zerstreut seine Früchte, daß die Tiere, so unter ihm liegen, weglaufen und die Vögel von seinen Zweigen fliehen.(dhs) Dan 4:14 He cried aloud and said thus: 'Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get out from under it, And the birds from its branches.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:15 ============ Dan 4:15 "Yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, But with a band of iron and bronze around it In the new grass of the field; And let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, And let him share with the beasts in the grass of the earth. (nas) Dan 4:15 καὶ οὕτως εἶπε ῥίζαν μίαν ἄφετε αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ γῇ ὅπως μετὰ τῶν θηρίων τῆς γῆς ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσι χόρτον ὡς βοῦς νέμηται (lxx) Dan 4:15 Hoc somnium vidi ego Nabuchodonosor rex: tu ergo Baltassar interpretationem narra festinus, quia omnes sapientes regni mei non queunt solutionem edicere mihi: tu autem potes, quia spiritus deorum sanctorum in te est.(vulgate) Daniel 4:15 (4:12) Neuerthelesse leaue the stumpe of his rootes in the earth, and with a band of yron and brasse binde it among the grasse of the fielde, and let it be wet with the dewe of heauen, and let his portion be with the beastes among the grasse of the fielde.(Geneva) Dan 4:15 Doch laßt den Stock mit seinen Wurzeln in der Erde bleiben; er aber soll in eisernen und ehernen Ketten auf dem Felde im Grase und unter dem Tau des Himmels liegen und naß werden und soll sich weiden mit den Tieren von den Kräutern der Erde.(dhs) Dan 4:15 Nevertheless leave the stump and roots in the earth, Bound with a band of iron and bronze, In the tender grass of the field. Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, And let him graze with the beasts On the grass of the earth.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:16 ============ Dan 4:16 "Let his mind be changed from that of a man And let a beast's mind be given to him, And let seven periods of time pass over him. (nas) Dan 4:16 καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς δρόσου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ ἀλλοιωθῇ καὶ ἑπτὰ ἔτη βοσκηθῇ σὺν αὐτοῖς (lxx) Dan 4:16 Tunc Daniel, cujus nomen Baltassar, coepit intra semetipsum tacitus cogitare quasi una hora: et cogitationes ejus conturbabant eum. Respondens autem rex, ait: Baltassar, somnium et interpretatio ejus non conturbent te. Respondit Baltassar, et dixit: Domine mi, somnium his, qui te oderunt, et interpretatio ejus hostibus tuis sit.(vulgate) Daniel 4:16 (4:13) Let his heart be changed from mans nature, and let a beasts heart be giuen vnto him, and let seuen times be passed ouer him.(Geneva) Dan 4:16 Und das menschliche Herz soll von ihm genommen und ein viehisches Herz ihm gegeben werden, bis daß sieben Zeiten über ihn um sind.(dhs) Dan 4:16 Let his heart be changed from that of a man, Let him be given the heart of a beast, And let seven times pass over him.(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:17 ============ Dan 4:17 "This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers And the decision is a command of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, And bestows it on whom He wishes And sets over it the lowliest of men."(nas) Dan 4:17 ἕως ἂν γνῷ τὸν κύριον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐξουσίαν ἔχειν πάντων τῶν ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ καὶ τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ὅσα ἂν θέλῃ ποιεῖ ἐν αὐτοῖς Dan 4:17 Arborem, quam vidisti sublimem atque robustam, cujus altitudo pertingit ad caelum, et aspectus illius in omnem terram;(vulgate) Daniel 4:17 (4:14) The sentence is according to the decree of the watchmen, and according to the word of the holy ones: the demaunde was answered, to the intent that liuing men may knowe, that the most High hath power ouer the kingdome of men, and giueth it to whomsoeuer he will, and appointeth ouer it the most abiect among men.(Geneva) Dan 4:17 Solches ist im Rat der Wächter beschlossen und im Gespräch der Heiligen beratschlagt, auf daß die Lebendigen erkennen, daß der Höchste Gewalt hat über der Menschen Königreiche und gibt sie, wem er will, und erhöht die Niedrigen zu denselben.(dhs) Dan 4:17 'This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.'(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:18 ============ Dan 4:18 This is the dream which I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, tell me its interpretation, inasmuch as none of the wise men of my kingdom is able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for a spirit of the holy gods is in you.'(nas) Dan 4:18 καὶ ἀναστὰς τὸ πρωὶ ἐκ τῆς κοίτης μου ἐκάλεσα τὸν Δανιηλ τὸν ἄρχοντα τῶν σοφιστῶν καὶ τὸν ἡγούμενον τῶν κρινόντων τὰ ἐνύπνια καὶ διηγησάμην αὐτῷ τὸ ἐνύπνιον καὶ ὑπέδειξέ μοι πᾶσαν τὴν σύγκρισιν αὐτοῦ (lxx) Dan 4:18 et rami ejus pulcherrimi, et fructus ejus nimius, et esca omnium in ea, subter eam habitantes bestiae agri, et in ramis ejus commorantes aves caeli:(vulgate) Daniel 4:18 (4:15) This is the dreame, that I King Nebuchad-nezzar haue seene: therefore thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof: for all the wisemen of my kingdome are not able to shewe mee the interpretation: but thou art able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.(Geneva) Dan 4:18 Solchen Traum habe ich, König Nebukadnezar, gesehen; du aber Beltsazar, sage mir was er bedeutet. Denn alle Weisen in meinem Königreiche können mir nicht anzeigen, was er bedeute; du aber kannst es wohl, denn der Geist der heiligen Götter ist bei dir.(dhs) Dan 4:18 "This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, declare its interpretation, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for the Spirit of the Holy God is in you."(nkjv) ======= Daniel 4:19 ============ Dan 4:19 "Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him. The king responded and said, 'Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.'Belteshazzar replied, 'My lord, if only the dream applied to those who hate you and its interpretation to your adversaries! (nas) Dan 4:19 μεγάλως δὲ ἐθαύμασεν ὁ Δανιηλ καὶ ὑπόνοια κατέσπευδεν αὐτόν καὶ φοβηθεὶς τρόμου λαβόντος αὐτὸν καὶ ἀλλοιωθείσης τῆς ὁράσεως αὐτοῦ κινήσας τὴν κεφαλὴν ὥραν μίαν ἀποθαυμάσας ἀπεκρίθη μοι φωνῇ πραείᾳ βασιλεῦ τὸ ἐνύπνιον τοῦτο τοῖς μισοῦσί σε καὶ ἡ σύγκρισις αὐτοῦ τοῖς ἐχθροῖς σου ἐπέλθοι (lxx) Dan 4:19 tu es rex, qui magnificatus es, et invaluisti: et magnitudo tua crevit, et pervenit usque ad caelum, et potestas tua in terminos universae terrae.(vulgate) Daniel 4:19 (4:16) Then Daniel (whose name was Belteshazzar) held his peace by the space of one houre, and his thoughts troubled him, & the King spake and said, Belteshazzar, let neither the dreame, nor the interpretation thereof trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and saide, My lord, the dreame be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.(Geneva) Dan 4:19 Da entsetzte sich Dan el, der sonst Beltsazar heißt, bei einer Stunde lang und seine Gedanken betrübten ihn. Aber der König sprach: Beltsazar, laß dich den Traum und seine Deutung nicht betrüben. Beltsazar fing an und sprach: Ach mein Herr, daß der Traum deinen Feinden und seine Deutung deinen Widersachern gälte!(dhs) Dan 4:19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for a time, and his thoughts troubled him. So the king spoke, and said, "Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you."
