Like an eagle the enemy comes against the house of the Lord, Because they have transgressed My covenant And rebelled against My law. (nas) Hos 8:1 εἰς κόλπον αὐτῶν ὡς γῆ ὡς ἀετὸς ἐπ᾽ οἶκον κυρίου ἀνθ᾽ ὧν παρέβησαν τὴν διαθήκην μου καὶ κατὰ τοῦ νόμου μου ἠσέβησαν (lxx) Hos 8:1 [In gutture tuo sit tuba quasi aquila super domum Domini, pro eo quod transgressi sunt fœdus meum, et legem meam prævaricati sunt.(vulgate) Hosea 8:1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth: he shall come as an egle against the House of the Lord, because they haue transgressed my couenant, & trespassed against my Lawe.(Geneva) Hos 8:1 Rufe laut wie eine Posaune: Er kommt über das Haus des HERRN wie ein Adler, darum daß sie meinen Bund übertreten und von meinem Gesetz abtrünnig werden.(dhs) Hos 8:1 "Set the trumpet to your mouth! (nas) Hos 8:3 ὅτι Ισραηλ ἀπεστρέψατο ἀγαθά ἐχθρὸν κατεδίωξαν (lxx) Hos 8:3 Projecit Israël bonum: inimicus persequetur eum.(vulgate) Hosea 8:3 Israel hath cast off ye thing that is good: the enemie shall pursue him.(Geneva) Hos 8:3 Israel verwirft das Gute; darum muß sie der Feind verfolgen.(dhs) Hos 8:3 Israel has rejected the good; The enemy will pursue him.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:4 ============ Hos 8:4 They have set up kings, but not by Me; They have appointed princes, but I did not know it. With their silver and gold they have made idols for themselves, That they might be cut off. (nas) Hos 8:4 ἑαυτοῖς ἐβασίλευσαν καὶ οὐ δι᾽ ἐμοῦ ἦρξαν καὶ οὐκ ἐγνώρισάν μοι τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ χρυσίον αὐτῶν ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοῖς εἴδωλα ὅπως ἐξολεθρευθῶσιν (lxx) Hos 8:4 Ipsi regnaverunt, et non ex me; principes exstiterunt, et non cognovi: argentum suum et aurum suum fecerunt sibi idola, ut interirent.(vulgate) Hosea 8:4 They haue set vp a King, but not by me: they haue made princes, and I knew it not: of their siluer and their gold haue they made them idoles: therefore shall they be destroyed.(Geneva) Hos 8:4 Sie machen Könige, aber ohne mich; sie setzen Fürsten, und ich darf es nicht wissen. From their silver and gold They made idols for themselves-- That they might be cut off.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:5 ============ Hos 8:5 He has rejected your calf, O Samaria, saying, "My anger burns against them!" How long will they be incapable of innocence? (nas) Hos 8:5 ἀπότριψαι τὸν μόσχον σου Σαμάρεια παρωξύνθη ὁ θυμός μου ἐπ᾽ αὐτούς ἕως τίνος οὐ μὴ δύνωνται καθαρισθῆναι (lxx) Hos 8:5 Projectus est vitulus tuus, Samaria; iratus est furor meus in eos. Usquequo non poterunt emundari?(vulgate) Hosea 8:5 Thy calfe, O Samaria, hath cast thee off: mine anger is kindled against them: howe long will they be without innocencie!(Geneva) Hos 8:5 Dein Kalb, Samaria, verwirft er; mein Zorn ist über sie ergrimmt. Es kann nicht lange anstehen, sie müssen gestraft werden.(dhs) Hos 8:5 Your calf is rejected, O Samaria! My anger is aroused against them-- How long until they attain to innocence?(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:6 ============ Hos 8:6 For from Israel is even this! A craftsman made it, so it is not God; Surely the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces. (nas) Hos 8:6 ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ αὐτὸ τέκτων ἐποίησεν καὶ οὐ θεός ἐστιν διότι πλανῶν ἦν ὁ μόσχος σου Σαμάρεια (lxx) Hos 8:6 Quia ex Israël et ipse est: artifex fecit illum, et non est deus; quoniam in aranearum telas erit vitulus Samariæ.(vulgate) Hosea 8:6 For it came euen from Israel: the workeman made it, therefore it is not God: but the calfe of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.(Geneva) Hos 8:6 Denn das Kalb ist aus Israel hergekommen, und ein Werkmann hat's gemacht, und es kann ja kein Gott sein; darum soll das Kalb Samarias zerpulvert werden.(dhs) Hos 8:6 For from Israel is even this: A workman made it, and it is not God; But the calf of Samaria shall be broken to pieces.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:7 ============ Hos 8:7 For they sow the wind And they reap the whirlwind. The standing grain has no heads; It yields no grain. Should it yield, strangers would swallow it up. (nas) Hos 8:7 ὅτι ἀνεμόφθορα ἔσπειραν καὶ ἡ καταστροφὴ αὐτῶν ἐκδέξεται αὐτά δράγμα οὐκ ἔχον ἰσχὺν τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἄλευρον ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ποιήσῃ ἀλλότριοι καταφάγονται αὐτό (lxx) Hos 8:7 Quia ventum seminabunt, et turbinem metent: culmus stans non est in eo; germen non faciet farinam: quod etsi fecerit, alieni comedent eam.(vulgate) Hosea 8:7 For they haue sowne the winde, and they shall reape the whirlewind: it hath no stalke: the budde shall bring foorth no meale: if so be it bring forth, the strangers shall deuoure it.(Geneva) Hos 8:7 Denn sie säen Wind und werden Ungewitter einernten; ihre Saat soll nicht aufkommen und ihr Gewächs kein Mehl geben; und ob's geben würde, sollen's doch Fremde fressen.(dhs) Hos 8:7 "They sow the wind, And reap the whirlwind. The stalk has no bud; It shall never produce meal. If it should produce, Aliens would swallow it up.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:8 ============ Hos 8:8 Israel is swallowed up; They are now among the nations Like a vessel in which no one delights. (nas) Hos 8:8 κατεπόθη Ισραηλ νῦν ἐγένετο ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ὡς σκεῦος ἄχρηστον (lxx) Hos 8:8 Devoratus est Israël; nunc factus est in nationibus quasi vas immundum.(vulgate) Hosea 8:8 Israel is deuoured, now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessell wherein is no pleasure.(Geneva) Hos 8:8 Israel wird aufgefressen; die Heiden gehen mit ihnen um wie mit einem unwerten Gefäß,(dhs) Hos 8:8 Israel is swallowed up; Now they are among the Gentiles Like a vessel in which is no pleasure.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:9 ============ Hos 8:9 For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a wild donkey all alone; Ephraim has hired lovers. (nas) Hos 8:9 ὅτι αὐτοὶ ἀνέβησαν εἰς Ἀσσυρίους ἀνέθαλεν καθ᾽ ἑαυτὸν Εφραιμ δῶρα ἠγάπησαν (lxx) Hos 8:9 Quia ipsi ascenderunt ad Assur, onager solitarius sibi; Ephraim munera dederunt amatoribus.(vulgate) Hosea 8:9 For they are gone vp to Asshur: they are as a wilde asse alone by himselfe: Ephraim hath hired louers.(Geneva) Hos 8:9 darum daß sie hinauf zum Assur laufen wie ein Wild in der Irre. Ephraim schenkt den Buhlern und gibt den Heiden Tribut.(dhs) Hos 8:9 For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a wild donkey alone by itself; Ephraim has hired lovers.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:10 ============ Hos 8:10 Even though they hire allies among the nations, Now I will gather them up; And they will begin to diminish Because of the burden of the king of princes. (nas) Hos 8:10 διὰ τοῦτο παραδοθήσονται ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν νῦν εἰσδέξομαι αὐτούς καὶ κοπάσουσιν μικρὸν τοῦ χρίειν βασιλέα καὶ ἄρχοντας (lxx) Hos 8:10 Sed et cum mercede conduxerint nationes, nunc congregabo eos, et quiescent paulisper ab onere regis et principum.(vulgate) Hosea 8:10 Yet though they haue hired among the nations, nowe will I gather them, and they shall sorowe a litle, for the burden of the King and the princes.(Geneva) Hos 8:10 Dieselben Heiden will ich nun über sie sammeln; sie sollen der Last des Königs der Fürsten bald müde werden.(dhs) Hos 8:10 Yes, though they have hired among the nations, Now I will gather them; And they shall sorrow a little, Because of the burden of the king of princes.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:11 ============ Hos 8:11 Since Ephraim has multiplied altars for sin, They have become altars of sinning for him. (nas) Hos 8:11 ὅτι ἐπλήθυνεν Εφραιμ θυσιαστήρια εἰς ἁμαρτίας ἐγένοντο αὐτῷ θυσιαστήρια ἠγαπημένα (lxx) Hos 8:11 Quia multiplicavit Ephraim altaria ad peccandum; factæ sunt ei aræ in delictum.(vulgate) Hosea 8:11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sinne, his altars shalbe to sinne.(Geneva) Hos 8:11 Denn Ephraim hat der Altäre viel gemacht zu sündigen; so sollen auch die Altäre ihm zur Sünde geraten.(dhs) Hos 8:11 "Because Ephraim has made many altars for sin, They have become for him altars for sinning.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:12 ============ Hos 8:12 Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My law, They are regarded as a strange thing. (nas) Hos 8:12 καταγράψω αὐτῷ πλῆθος καὶ τὰ νόμιμα αὐτοῦ εἰς ἀλλότρια ἐλογίσθησαν θυσιαστήρια τὰ ἠγαπημένα (lxx) Hos 8:12 Scribam ei multiplices leges meas, quæ velut alienæ computatæ sunt.(vulgate) Hosea 8:12 I haue written to them the great things of my Lawe: but they were counted as a strange thing.(Geneva) Hos 8:12 Wenn ich ihm gleich viel tausend Gebote meines Gesetzes schreibe, so wird's geachtet wie eine Fremde Lehre.(dhs) Hos 8:12 I have written for him the great things of My law, But they were considered a strange thing.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:13 ============ Hos 8:13 As for My sacrificial gifts, They sacrifice the flesh and eat it, But the Lord has taken no delight in them. Now He will remember their iniquity, And punish them for their sins; They will return to Egypt. (nas) Hos 8:13 διότι ἐὰν θύσωσιν θυσίαν καὶ φάγωσιν κρέα κύριος οὐ προσδέξεται αὐτά νῦν μνησθήσεται τὰς ἀδικίας αὐτῶν καὶ ἐκδικήσει τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν αὐτοὶ εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἀπέστρεψαν καὶ ἐν Ἀσσυρίοις ἀκάθαρτα φάγονται (lxx) Hos 8:13 Hostias offerent, immolabunt carnes et comedent, et Dominus non suscipiet eas: nunc recordabitur iniquitatis eorum, et visitabit peccata eorum: ipsi in Ægyptum convertentur.(vulgate) Hosea 8:13 They sacrifice flesh for ye sacrifices of mine offerings, and eate it: but the Lorde accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes: they shall returne to Egypt.(Geneva) Hos 8:13 Ob sie schon viel opfern und Fleisch herbringen und essen's, so hat doch der HERR kein Gefallen an ihnen; sondern er will ihrer Missetat gedenken und ihre Sünden heimsuchen; sie sollen wieder nach Ägypten kommen!(dhs) Hos 8:13 For the sacrifices of My offerings they sacrifice flesh and eat it, But the Lord does not accept them. They shall return to Egypt.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 8:14 ============ Hos 8:14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; And Judah has multiplied fortified cities, But I will send a fire on its cities that it may consume its palatial dwellings. (nas) Hos 8:14 καὶ ἐπελάθετο Ισραηλ τοῦ ποιήσαντος αὐτὸν καὶ ᾠκοδόμησαν τεμένη καὶ Ιουδας ἐπλήθυνεν πόλεις τετειχισμένας καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ εἰς τὰς πόλεις αὐτοῦ καὶ καταφάγεται τὰ θεμέλια αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 8:14 Et oblitus est Israël factoris sui, et ædificavit delubra; et Judas multiplicavit urbes munitas; et mittam ignem in civitates ejus, et devorabit ædes illius.](vulgate) Hosea 8:14 For Israel hath forgotten his maker, and buildeth Temples, & Iudah hath increased strong cities: but I will sende a fire vpon his cities, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.(Geneva) Hos 8:14 Israel vergißt seines Schöpfers und baut Paläste; so macht Juda viel feste Städte; aber ich will Feuer in seine Städte schicken, welches soll seine Häuser verzehren.(dhs) Hos 8:14 "For Israel has forgotten his Maker, And has built temples; Judah also has multiplied fortified cities; But I will send fire upon his cities, And it shall devour his palaces."(nkjv) ======= Hosea 9:1 ============ Hos 9:1 Do not rejoice, O Israel, with exultation like the nations!
