The more his fruit, The more altars he made; The richer his land, The better he made the sacred pillars. (nas) Hos 10:1 ἄμπελος εὐκληματοῦσα Ισραηλ ὁ καρπὸς αὐτῆς εὐθηνῶν κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν καρπῶν αὐτοῦ ἐπλήθυνεν τὰ θυσιαστήρια κατὰ τὰ ἀγαθὰ τῆς γῆς αὐτοῦ ᾠκοδόμησεν στήλας (lxx) Hos 10:1 [Vitis frondosa Israël, fructus adæquatus est ei: secundum multitudinem fructus sui multiplicavit altaria, juxta ubertatem terræ suæ exuberavit simulacris.(vulgate) Hosea 10:1 Israel is a emptie vine, yet hath it brought foorth fruite vnto it selfe, and according to the multitude of the fruite thereof he hath increased the altars: according to the goodnesse of their lande they haue made faire images.(Geneva) Hos 10:1 Israel ist ein ausgebreiteter Weinstock, der seine Frucht trägt. According to the multitude of his fruit He has increased the altars; According to the bounty of his land They have embellished his sacred pillars.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:2 ============ Hos 10:2 Their heart is faithless; Now they must bear their guilt. The Lord will break down their altars And destroy their sacred pillars. (nas) Hos 10:2 ἐμέρισαν καρδίας αὐτῶν νῦν ἀφανισθήσονται αὐτὸς κατασκάψει τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτῶν ταλαιπωρήσουσιν αἱ στῆλαι αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 10:2 Divisum est cor eorum, nunc interibunt; ipse confringet simulacra eorum, depopulabitur aras eorum.(vulgate) Hosea 10:2 Their heart is deuided: nowe shall they be founde faultie: he shall breake downe their altars: he shall destroy their images.(Geneva) Hos 10:2 Ihr Herz ist zertrennt; nun wird sie ihre Schuld finden. Ihre Altäre sollen zerbrochen und ihre Bildsäulen sollen zerstört werden.(dhs) Hos 10:2 Their heart is divided; Now they are held guilty. He will break down their altars; He will ruin their sacred pillars.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:3 ============ Hos 10:3 Surely now they will say, "We have no king, For we do not revere the Lord. As for the king, what can he do for us?"(nas) Hos 10:3 διότι νῦν ἐροῦσιν οὐκ ἔστιν βασιλεὺς ἡμῖν ὅτι οὐκ ἐφοβήθημεν τὸν κύριον ὁ δὲ βασιλεὺς τί ποιήσει ἡμῖν (lxx) Hos 10:3 Quia nunc dicent: Non est rex nobis, non enim timemus Dominum; et rex quid faciet nobis?(vulgate) Hosea 10:3 For now they shal say, We haue no King because we feared not the Lord: and what should a King doe to vs?(Geneva) Hos 10:3 Alsdann müssen sie sagen: Wir haben keinen König, denn wir fürchteten den HERRN nicht; was kann uns der König nun helfen?(dhs) Hos 10:3 For now they say, "We have no king, Because we did not fear the Lord. And as for a king, what would he do for us?"(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:4 ============ Hos 10:4 They speak mere words, With worthless oaths they make covenants; And judgment sprouts like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field. (nas) Hos 10:4 λαλῶν ῥήματα προφάσεις ψευδεῖς διαθήσεται διαθήκην ἀνατελεῖ ὡς ἄγρωστις κρίμα ἐπὶ χέρσον ἀγροῦ (lxx) Hos 10:4 Loquimini verba visionis inutilis, et ferietis fœdus; et germinabit quasi amaritudo judicium super sulcos agri.(vulgate) Hosea 10:4 They haue spoken woordes, swearing falsly in making a couenant: thus iudgement groweth as wormewoode in the furrowes of the fielde.(Geneva) Hos 10:4 Sie reden und schwören vergeblich und machen einen Bund, und solcher Rat grünt auf allen Furchen im Felde wie giftiges Kraut.(dhs) Hos 10:4 They have spoken words, Swearing falsely in making a covenant. Thus judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:5 ============ Hos 10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria will fear For the calf of Beth-aven. Indeed, its people will mourn for it, And its idolatrous priests will cry out over it, Over its glory, since it has departed from it. (nas) Hos 10:5 τῷ μόσχῳ τοῦ οἴκου Ων παροικήσουσιν οἱ κατοικοῦντες Σαμάρειαν ὅτι ἐπένθησεν ὁ λαὸς αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν καὶ καθὼς παρεπίκραναν αὐτόν ἐπιχαροῦνται ἐπὶ τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦ ὅτι μετῳκίσθη ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 10:5 Vaccas Bethaven coluerunt habitatores Samariæ; quia luxit super eum populus ejus, et æditui ejus super eum exsultaverunt in gloria ejus, quia migravit ab eo.(vulgate) Hosea 10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria shal feare because of the calfe of Beth-auen: for the people thereof shall mourne ouer it, and the Chemarims thereof, that reioyced on it for the glorie thereof, because it is departed from it.(Geneva) Hos 10:5 Die Einwohner zu Samaria sorgen um das Kalb zu Beth-Aven; denn sein Volk trauert darum, und seine Götzenpfaffen zittern seiner Herrlichkeit halben; denn sie wird von ihnen weggeführt.(dhs) Hos 10:5 The inhabitants of Samaria fear Because of the calf of Beth Aven. For its people mourn for it, And its priests shriek for it-- Because its glory has departed from it.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:6 ============ Hos 10:6 The thing itself will be carried to Assyria As tribute to King Jareb; Ephraim will be seized with shame And Israel will be ashamed of its own counsel. (nas) Hos 10:6 καὶ αὐτὸν εἰς Ἀσσυρίους δήσαντες ἀπήνεγκαν ξένια τῷ βασιλεῖ Ιαριμ ἐν δόματι Εφραιμ δέξεται καὶ αἰσχυνθήσεται Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ βουλῇ αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 10:6 Siquidem et ipse in Assur delatus est, munus regi ultori. Confusio Ephraim capiet, et confundetur Israël in voluntate sua.(vulgate) Hosea 10:6 It shall bee also brought to Asshur, for a present vnto King Iareb: Ephraim shall receiue shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his owne counsell.(Geneva) Hos 10:6 Ja, das Kalb wird nach Assyrien gebracht zum Geschenke dem König Jareb. (nas) Hos 10:7 ἀπέρριψεν Σαμάρεια βασιλέα αὐτῆς ὡς φρύγανον ἐπὶ προσώπου ὕδατος (lxx) Hos 10:7 Transire fecit Samaria regem suum quasi spumam super faciem aquæ.(vulgate) Hosea 10:7 Of Samaria, the King thereof is destroyed as the some vpon the water.(Geneva) Hos 10:7 Denn der König zu Samaria ist dahin wie ein Schaum auf dem Wasser.(dhs) Hos 10:7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off Like a twig on the water.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:8 ============ Hos 10:8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, will be destroyed; Thorn and thistle will grow on their altars; Then they will say to the mountains, "Cover us!" And to the hills, "Fall on us!"(nas) Hos 10:8 καὶ ἐξαρθήσονται βωμοὶ Ων ἁμαρτήματα τοῦ Ισραηλ ἄκανθαι καὶ τρίβολοι ἀναβήσονται ἐπὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτῶν καὶ ἐροῦσιν τοῖς ὄρεσιν καλύψατε ἡμᾶς καὶ τοῖς βουνοῖς πέσατε ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς (lxx) Hos 10:8 Et disperdentur excelsa idoli, peccatum Israël; lappa et tribulus ascendet super aras eorum: et dicent montibus: Operite nos, et collibus: Cadite super nos.(vulgate) Hosea 10:8 The hie places also of Auen shall be destroied, euen the sinne of Israel: the thorne and the thistle shall growe vpon their altars, and they shal say to the mountaines, Couer vs, and to the hils, Fall vpon vs.(Geneva) Hos 10:8 Die Höhen zu Aven sind vertilgt, durch die sich Israel versündigte; Disteln und Dornen wachsen auf ihren Altären. Und sie werden sagen: Ihr Berge bedeckt uns! und: Ihr Hügel, fallt über uns!(dhs) Hos 10:8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, Shall be destroyed. Will not the battle against the sons of iniquity overtake them in Gibeah? (nas) Hos 10:9 ἀφ᾽ οὗ οἱ βουνοί ἥμαρτεν Ισραηλ ἐκεῖ ἔστησαν οὐ μὴ καταλάβῃ αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ βουνῷ πόλεμος ἐπὶ τὰ τέκνα ἀδικίας (lxx) Hos 10:9 Ex diebus Gabaa peccavit Israël; ibi steterunt. Non comprehendet eos in Gabaa prælium super filios iniquitatis.(vulgate) Hosea 10:9 O Israel, thou hast sinned from the daies of Gibeah: there they stoode: the battell in Gibeah against the children of iniquitie did not touch them.(Geneva) Hos 10:9 Israel, du hast seit der Zeit Gibeas gesündigt; dabei sind sie auch geblieben. Aber es soll sie ein Streit, nicht gleich dem zu Gibea, ergreifen, so wider die bösen Leute geschah;(dhs) Hos 10:9 "O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah; There they stood. The battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity Did not overtake them.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:10 ============ Hos 10:10 When it is My desire, I will chastise them; And the peoples will be gathered against them When they are bound for their double guilt. (nas) Hos 10:10 ἦλθεν παιδεῦσαι αὐτούς καὶ συναχθήσονται ἐπ᾽ αὐτοὺς λαοὶ ἐν τῷ παιδεύεσθαι αὐτοὺς ἐν ταῖς δυσὶν ἀδικίαις αὐτῶν (lxx) Hos 10:10 Juxta desiderium meum corripiam eos: congregabuntur super eos populi, cum corripientur propter duas iniquitates suas.(vulgate) Hosea 10:10 It is my desire that I should chastice them, and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall gather themselues in their two furrowes.(Geneva) Hos 10:10 sondern ich will sie züchtigen nach meinem Wunsch, daß alle Völker sollen über sie versammelt kommen, wenn ich sie werde strafen um ihre zwei Sünden.(dhs) Hos 10:10 When it is My desire, I will chasten them. Peoples shall be gathered against them When I bind them for their two transgressions.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:11 ============ Hos 10:11 Ephraim is a trained heifer that loves to thresh, But I will come over her fair neck with a yoke; I will harness Ephraim, Judah will plow, Jacob will harrow for himself. (nas) Hos 10:11 Εφραιμ δάμαλις δεδιδαγμένη ἀγαπᾶν νεῖκος ἐγὼ δὲ ἐπελεύσομαι ἐπὶ τὸ κάλλιστον τοῦ τραχήλου αὐτῆς ἐπιβιβῶ Εφραιμ καὶ παρασιωπήσομαι Ιουδαν ἐνισχύσει αὐτῷ Ιακωβ (lxx) Hos 10:11 Ephraim vitula docta diligere trituram, et ego transivi super pulchritudinem colli ejus: ascendam super Ephraim, arabit Judas; confringet sibi sulcos Jacob.(vulgate) Hosea 10:11 And Ephraim is as an heifer vsed to delite in threshing: but I will passe by her faire necke: I will make Ephraim to ride: Iudah shall plowe, and Iaakob shall breake his cloddes.(Geneva) Hos 10:11 Ephraim ist ein Kalb, gewöhnt, daß man es gern drischt. (nas) Hos 10:12 σπείρατε ἑαυτοῖς εἰς δικαιοσύνην τρυγήσατε εἰς καρπὸν ζωῆς φωτίσατε ἑαυτοῖς φῶς γνώσεως ἐκζητήσατε τὸν κύριον ἕως τοῦ ἐλθεῖν γενήματα δικαιοσύνης ὑμῖν (lxx) Hos 10:12 Seminate vobis in justitia, et metite in ore misericordiæ. Innovate vobis novale; tempus autem requirendi Dominum, cum venerit qui docebit vos justitiam.(vulgate) Hosea 10:12 Sowe to your selues in righteousnes: reape after the measure of mercy: breake vp your fallowe grounde: for it is time to seeke the Lorde, till he come and raine righteousnesse vpon you.(Geneva) Hos 10:12 Darum säet euch Gerechtigkeit und erntet Liebe; pflüget ein Neues, weil es Zeit ist, den HERRN zu suchen, bis daß er komme und lasse regnen über euch Gerechtigkeit.(dhs) Hos 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:13 ============ Hos 10:13 You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, You have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors, (nas) Hos 10:13 ἵνα τί παρεσιωπήσατε ἀσέβειαν καὶ τὰς ἀδικίας αὐτῆς ἐτρυγήσατε ἐφάγετε καρπὸν ψευδῆ ὅτι ἤλπισας ἐν τοῖς ἅρμασίν σου ἐν πλήθει δυνάμεώς σου (lxx) Hos 10:13 Arastis impietatem, iniquitatem messuistis: comedistis frugem mendacii, quia confisus es in viis tuis, in multitudine fortium tuorum.(vulgate) Hosea 10:13 But you haue plowed wickednesse: ye haue reaped iniquitie: you haue eaten the fruite of lies: because thou didest trust in thine owne waies, and in the multitude of thy strong men,(Geneva) Hos 10:13 Denn ihr pflüget Böses und erntet Übeltat und esset Lügenfrüchte.(dhs) Hos 10:13 You have plowed wickedness; You have reaped iniquity. (nas) Hos 10:14 καὶ ἐξαναστήσεται ἀπώλεια ἐν τῷ λαῷ σου καὶ πάντα τὰ περιτετειχισμένα σου οἰχήσεται ὡς ἄρχων Σαλαμαν ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου Ιεροβααλ ἐν ἡμέραις πολέμου μητέρα ἐπὶ τέκνοις ἠδάφισαν (lxx) Hos 10:14 Consurget tumultus in populo tuo; et omnes munitiones tuæ vastabuntur, sicut vastatus est Salmana a domo ejus qui judicavit Baal in die prælii, matre super filios allisa.(vulgate) Hosea 10:14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy people, and all thy munitions shall be destroyed, as Shalman destroyed Beth-arbell in the daie of battell: the mother with the children was dashed in pieces.(Geneva) Hos 10:14 Weil du dich denn verläßt auf dein Wesen und auf die Menge deiner Helden, so soll sich ein Getümmel erheben in deinem Volk, daß alle deine Festen verstört werden, gleichwie Salman verstörte das Haus Arbeels zur Zeit des Streits, da die Mutter samt den Kindern zu Trümmern ging.(dhs) Hos 10:14 Therefore tumult shall arise among your people, And all your fortresses shall be plundered As Shalman plundered Beth Arbel in the day of battle-- A mother dashed in pieces upon her children.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 10:15 ============ Hos 10:15 Thus it will be done to you at Bethel because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel will be completely cut off. (nas) Hos 10:15 οὕτως ποιήσω ὑμῖν οἶκος τοῦ Ισραηλ ἀπὸ προσώπου κακιῶν ὑμῶν ὄρθρου ἀπερρίφησαν ἀπερρίφη βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ (lxx) Hos 10:15 Sic fecit vobis Bethel, a facie malitiæ nequitiarum vestrarum.](vulgate) Hosea 10:15 So shall Beth-el doe vnto you, because of your malicious wickednes: in a morning shall the King of Israel be destroied.(Geneva) Hos 10:15 Ebenso soll's euch zu Beth-El auch gehen um eurer großen Bosheit willen, daß der König Israels frühmorgens untergehe.(dhs) Hos 10:15 Thus it shall be done to you, O Bethel, Because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel Shall be cut off utterly.(nkjv) ======= Hosea 11:1 ============ Hos 11:1 When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son. (nas) Hos 11:1 διότι νήπιος Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγὼ ἠγάπησα αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου μετεκάλεσα τὰ τέκνα αὐτοῦ (lxx) Hos 11:1 [Sicut mane transiit, pertransiit rex Israël.
