Today's Date: ======= Jonah 3:1 ============ Jon 3:1 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, (nas) Jon 3:1 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιωναν ἐκ δευτέρου λέγων (lxx) Jon 3:1 Et factum est verbum Domini ad Jonam secundo, dicens:(vulgate) Jonah 3:1 And the worde of the Lorde came vnto Ionah the seconde time, saying,(Geneva) Jon 3:1 Und es geschah das Wort des HERRN zum andernmal zu Jona und sprach:(dhs) Jon 3:1 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying,(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:2 ============ Jon 3:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and proclaim to it the proclamation which I am going to tell you."(nas) Jon 3:2 ἀνάστηθι καὶ πορεύθητι εἰς Νινευη τὴν πόλιν τὴν μεγάλην καὶ κήρυξον ἐν αὐτῇ κατὰ τὸ κήρυγμα τὸ ἔμπροσθεν ὃ ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα πρὸς σέ (lxx) Jon 3:2 Surge, et vade in Niniven, civitatem magnam, et prædica in ea prædicationem quam ego loquor ad te.(vulgate) Jonah 3:2 Arise, goe vnto Nineueh that great citie, & preach vnto it the preaching, which I bid thee.(Geneva) Jon 3:2 Mache dich auf, gehe in die große Stadt Ninive und predige ihr die Predigt, die ich dir sage!(dhs) Jon 3:2 "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you."(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:3 ============ Jon 3:3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three days' walk. (nas) Jon 3:3 καὶ ἀνέστη Ιωνας καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς Νινευη καθὼς ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἡ δὲ Νινευη ἦν πόλις μεγάλη τῷ θεῷ ὡσεὶ πορείας ὁδοῦ ἡμερῶν τριῶν (lxx) Jon 3:3 Et surrexit Jonas, et abiit in Niniven juxta verbum Domini: et Ninive erat civitas magna, itinere trium dierum.(vulgate) Jonah 3:3 So Ionah arose & went to Nineueh according to ye word of the Lord: now Nineueh was a great & excellent citie of three dayes iourney.(Geneva) Jon 3:3 Da machte sich Jona auf und ging hin gen Ninive, wie der HERR gesagt hatte. Ninive aber war eine große Stadt vor Gott, drei Tagereisen groß.(dhs) Jon 3:3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:4 ============ Jon 3:4 Then Jonah began to go through the city one day's walk; and he cried out and said, "Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown."(nas) Jon 3:4 καὶ ἤρξατο Ιωνας τοῦ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν πόλιν ὡσεὶ πορείαν ἡμέρας μιᾶς καὶ ἐκήρυξεν καὶ εἶπεν ἔτι τρεῖς ἡμέραι καὶ Νινευη καταστραφήσεται (lxx) Jon 3:4 Et cœpit Jonas introire in civitatem itinere diei unius: et clamavit, et dixit: Adhuc quadraginta dies, et Ninive subvertetur.(vulgate) Jonah 3:4 And Ionah began to enter into the citie a dayes iourney, and he cryed, and said, Yet fourtie dayes, and Nineueh shalbe ouerthrowen.(Geneva) Jon 3:4 Und da Jona anfing hineinzugehen eine Tagereise in die Stadt, predigte er und sprach: Es sind noch vierzig Tage, so wird Ninive untergehen.(dhs) Jon 3:4 And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:5 ============ Jon 3:5 Then the people of Nineveh believed in God; and they called a fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest to the least of them. (nas) Jon 3:5 καὶ ἐνεπίστευσαν οἱ ἄνδρες Νινευη τῷ θεῷ καὶ ἐκήρυξαν νηστείαν καὶ ἐνεδύσαντο σάκκους ἀπὸ μεγάλου αὐτῶν ἕως μικροῦ αὐτῶν (lxx) Jon 3:5 Et crediderunt viri Ninivitæ in Deum, et prædicaverunt jejunium, et vestiti sunt saccis, a majore usque ad minorem.(vulgate) Jonah 3:5 So the people of Nineueh beleeued God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth from ye greatest of the euen to the least of them.(Geneva) Jon 3:5 Da glaubten die Leute zu Ninive an Gott und ließen predigen, man sollte fasten, und zogen Säcke an, beide, groß und klein.(dhs) Jon 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:6 ============ Jon 3:6 When the word reached the king of Nineveh, he arose from his throne, laid aside his robe from him, covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes. (nas) Jon 3:6 καὶ ἤγγισεν ὁ λόγος πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα τῆς Νινευη καὶ ἐξανέστη ἀπὸ τοῦ θρόνου αὐτοῦ καὶ περιείλατο τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ ἀφ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ καὶ περιεβάλετο σάκκον καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ σποδοῦ (lxx) Jon 3:6 Et pervenit verbum ad regem Ninive: et surrexit de solio suo, et abjecit vestimentum suum a se, et indutus est sacco, et sedit in cinere.(vulgate) Jonah 3:6 For worde came vnto the King of Nineueh, and he rose from his throne, and he layed his robe from him, and couered him with sackecloth, and sate in ashes.(Geneva) Jon 3:6 Und da das vor den König zu Ninive kam, stand er auf von seinem Thron und legte seinen Purpur ab und hüllte einen Sack um sich und setzte sich in die Asche(dhs) Jon 3:6 Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:7 ============ Jon 3:7 He issued a proclamation and it said, "In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let man, beast, herd, or flock taste a thing. Do not let them eat or drink water. (nas) Jon 3:7 καὶ ἐκηρύχθη καὶ ἐρρέθη ἐν τῇ Νινευη παρὰ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ παρὰ τῶν μεγιστάνων αὐτοῦ λέγων οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ οἱ βόες καὶ τὰ πρόβατα μὴ γευσάσθωσαν μηδὲν μηδὲ νεμέσθωσαν μηδὲ ὕδωρ πιέτωσαν (lxx) Jon 3:7 Et clamavit, et dixit in Ninive ex ore regis et principum ejus, dicens: Homines, et jumenta, et boves, et pecora non gustent quidquam: nec pascantur, et aquam non bibant.(vulgate) Jonah 3:7 And he proclaimed & said through Nineueh, (by the counsell of ye king & his nobles) saying, Let neither ma, nor beast, bullock nor sheep taste any thing, neither feed nor drinke water.(Geneva) Jon 3:7 und ließ ausrufen und sagen zu Ninive nach Befehl des Königs und seiner Gewaltigen also: Es sollen weder Mensch noch Vieh, weder Ochsen noch Schafe Nahrung nehmen, und man soll sie nicht weiden noch sie Wasser trinken lassen;(dhs) Jon 3:7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:8 ============ Jon 3:8 But both man and beast must be covered with sackcloth; and let men call on God earnestly that each may turn from his wicked way and from the violence which is in his hands. (nas) Jon 3:8 καὶ περιεβάλοντο σάκκους οἱ ἄνθρωποι καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ ἀνεβόησαν πρὸς τὸν θεὸν ἐκτενῶς καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ἀδικίας τῆς ἐν χερσὶν αὐτῶν λέγοντες (lxx) Jon 3:8 Et operiantur saccis homines et jumenta, et clament ad Dominum in fortitudine: et convertatur vir a via sua mala, et ab iniquitate quæ est in manibus eorum.(vulgate) Jonah 3:8 But let man and beast put on sackecloth, and crie mightily vnto God: yea, let euery man turne from his euill way, and from the wickednesse that is in their handes.(Geneva) Jon 3:8 und sollen Säcke um sich hüllen, beide, Menschen und Vieh, und zu Gott rufen heftig; und ein jeglicher bekehre sich von seinem bösen Wege und vom Frevel seiner Hände.(dhs) Jon 3:8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:9 ============ Jon 3:9 Who knows, God may turn and relent and withdraw His burning anger so that we will not perish."(nas) Jon 3:9 τίς οἶδεν εἰ μετανοήσει ὁ θεὸς καὶ ἀποστρέψει ἐξ ὀργῆς θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀπολώμεθα (lxx) Jon 3:9 Quis scit si convertatur et ignoscat Deus, et revertatur a furore iræ suæ, et non peribimus?(vulgate) Jonah 3:9 Who can tell if God will turne, and repent and turne away from his fierce wrath, that we perish not?(Geneva) Jon 3:9 Wer weiß? Es möchte Gott wiederum gereuen und er sich wenden von seinem grimmigen Zorn, daß wir nicht verderben.(dhs) Jon 3:9 Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?(nkjv) ======= Jonah 3:10 ============ Jon 3:10 When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it. (nas) Jon 3:10 καὶ εἶδεν ὁ θεὸς τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν ὅτι ἀπέστρεψαν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁδῶν αὐτῶν τῶν πονηρῶν καὶ μετενόησεν ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τῇ κακίᾳ ᾗ ἐλάλησεν τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτοῖς καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησεν (lxx) Jon 3:10 Et vidit Deus opera eorum, quia conversi sunt de via sua mala: et misertus est Deus super malitiam quam locutus fuerat ut faceret eis, et non fecit.(vulgate) Jonah 3:10 And God sawe their workes that they turned from their euill wayes: and God repented of the euill that he had said that he woulde doe vnto them, and he did it not.(Geneva) Jon 3:10 Da aber Gott sah ihre Werke, daß sie sich bekehrten von ihrem bösen Wege, reute ihn des Übels, das er geredet hatte ihnen zu tun, und tat's nicht.(dhs) Jon 3:10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.(nkjv) ======= Jonah 4:1 ============ Jon 4:1 But it greatly displeased Jonah and he became angry. (nas) Jon 4:1 καὶ ἐλυπήθη Ιωνας λύπην μεγάλην καὶ συνεχύθη (lxx) Jon 4:1 Et afflictus est Jonas afflictione magna, et iratus est:(vulgate) Jonah 4:1 Therefore it displeased Ionah exceedingly, and he was angry.(Geneva) Jon 4:1 Das verdroß Jona gar sehr, und er ward zornig(dhs) Jon 4:1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry.(nkjv) |
