Those who have seen him will say, 'Where is he?'(nasb) ======= Job 20:8 ============ Job 20:8 He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.(KJV) Job 20:8 He shal flee away as a dreame, and they shal not finde him, and shall passe away as a vision of the night,(Geneva) Job 20:8 Il s'envolera comme un songe, et on ne le trouvera plus; Il disparaîtra comme une vision nocturne;(FR) 8 ׃20 כַּחֲל֣וֹם יָ֭עוּף וְלֹ֣א יִמְצָא֑וּהוּ וְ֝יֻדַּ֗ד כְּחֶזְי֥וֹן לָֽיְלָה׃ Job Job 20:8 "He flies away like a dream, and they cannot find him; Even like a vision of the night he is chased away.(nasb) ======= Job 20:9 ============ Job 20:9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; but keep it still within his mouth:(KJV) Job 20:13 And fauoured it, and would not forsake it, but kept it close in his mouth,(Geneva) Job 20:13 Il le savourait sans l'abandonner, Il le retenait au milieu de son palais;(FR) 13 ׃20 יַחְמֹ֣ל עָ֭לֶיהָ וְלֹ֣א יַֽעַזְבֶ֑נָּה וְ֝יִמְנָעֶ֗נָּה בְּת֣וֹךְ חִכּֽוֹ׃ Job Job 20:13 Though he desires it and will not let it go, But holds it in his mouth, (nasb) ======= Job 20:14 ============ Job 20:14 Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.(KJV) Job 20:14 Then his meat in his bowels was turned: the gall of Aspes was in the middes of him.(Geneva) Job 20:14 Mais sa nourriture se transformera dans ses entrailles, Elle deviendra dans son corps un venin d'aspic.(FR) 14 ׃20 לַ֭חְמוֹ בְּמֵעָ֣יו נֶהְפָּ֑ךְ מְרוֹרַ֖ת פְּתָנִ֣ים בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ Job Job 20:14 Yet his food in his stomach is changed To the venom of cobras within him.(nasb) ======= Job 20:15 ============ Job 20:15 He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.(KJV) Job 20:15 He hath deuoured substance, and hee shall vomit it: for God shall drawe it out of his bellie.(Geneva) Job 20:15 Il a englouti des richesses, il les vomira; Dieu les chassera de son ventre.(FR) 15 ׃20 חַ֣יִל בָּ֭לַע וַיְקִאֶ֑נּוּ מִ֝בִּטְנ֗וֹ יוֹרִשֶׁ֥נּוּ אֵֽל׃ Job Job 20:15 "He swallows riches, But will vomit them up; God will expel them from his belly.(nasb) ======= Job 20:16 ============ Job 20:16 He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.(KJV) Job 20:16 He shall sucke the gall of Aspes, and the vipers tongue shall slay him.(Geneva) Job 20:16 Il a sucé du venin d'aspic, La langue de la vipère le tuera.(FR) 16 ׃20 רֹאשׁ־פְּתָנִ֥ים יִינָ֑ק תַּֽ֝הַרְגֵ֗הוּ לְשׁ֣וֹן אֶפְעֶֽה׃ Job Job 20:16 "He sucks the poison of cobras; The viper's tongue slays him.(nasb) ======= Job 20:17 ============ Job 20:17 He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.(KJV) Job 20:17 He shall not see the riuers, nor the floods and streames of honie and butter.(Geneva) Job 20:17 Il ne reposera plus ses regards sur les ruisseaux, Sur les torrents, sur les fleuves de miel et de lait.(FR) 17 ׃20 אַל־יֵ֥רֶא בִפְלַגּ֑וֹת נַהֲרֵ֥י נַ֝חֲלֵ֗י דְּבַ֣שׁ וְחֶמְאָֽה׃ Job Job 20:17 "He does not look at the streams, The rivers flowing with honey and curds.(nasb) ======= Job 20:18 ============ Job 20:18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.(KJV) Job 20:18 He shal restore the labour, and shall deuoure no more: euen according to the substance shalbe his exchange, & he shal enioy it no more.(Geneva) Job 20:18 Il rendra ce qu'il a gagné, et n'en profitera plus; Il restituera tout ce qu'il a pris, et n'en jouira plus.(FR) 18 ׃20 מֵשִׁ֣יב יָ֭גָע וְלֹ֣א יִבְלָ֑ע כְּחֵ֥יל תְּ֝מוּרָת֗וֹ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲלֹֽס׃ Job Job 20:18 "He returns what he has attained And cannot swallow it; As to the riches of his trading, He cannot even enjoy them.(nasb) ======= Job 20:19 ============ Job 20:19 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;(KJV) Job 20:19 For he hath vndone many: he hath forsaken the poore, and hath spoyled houses which he builded not.(Geneva) Job 20:19 Car il a opprimé, délaissé les pauvres, Il a ruiné des maisons et ne les a pas rétablies.(FR) 19 ׃20 כִּֽי־רִ֭צַּץ עָזַ֣ב דַּלִּ֑ים בַּ֥יִת גָּ֝זַ֗ל וְלֹ֣א יִבֶנֵֽהוּ׃ Job Job 20:19 "For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor; He has seized a house which he has not built.(nasb) ======= Job 20:20 ============ Job 20:20 Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.(KJV) Job 20:20 Surely he shall feele no quietnes in his bodie, neither shall he reserue of that which he desired.(Geneva) Job 20:20 Son avidité n'a point connu de bornes; Mais il ne sauvera pas ce qu'il avait de plus cher.(FR) 20 ׃20 כִּ֤י ׀ לֹא־יָדַ֣ע שָׁלֵ֣ו בְּבִטְנ֑וֹ בַּ֝חֲמוּד֗וֹ לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּֽט׃ Job Job 20:20 "Because he knew no quiet within him, He does not retain anything he desires.(nasb) ======= Job 20:21 ============ Job 20:21 There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.(KJV) Job 20:21 There shall none of his meate bee left: therefore none shal hope for his goods.(Geneva) Job 20:21 Rien n'échappait à sa voracité; Mais son bien-être ne durera pas.(FR) 21 ׃20 אֵין־שָׂרִ֥יד לְאָכְל֑וֹ עַל־כֵּ֝֗ן לֹא־יָחִ֥יל טוּבֽוֹ׃ Job Job 20:21 "Nothing remains for him to devour, Therefore his prosperity does not endure.(nasb) ======= Job 20:22 ============ Job 20:22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.(KJV) Job 20:22 When he shalbe filled with his abundance, he shalbe in paine, and the hand of all the wicked shall assaile him.(Geneva) Job 20:22 Au milieu de l'abondance il sera dans la détresse;
