(nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:3 ============ Eze 31:3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:3 Beholde, Asshur was like a cedar in Lebanon with faire branches, & with thicke shadowing boughes, and shot vp very hye, and his toppe was among the thicke boughes.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:3 Voici, l'Assyrie était un cèdre du Liban; Ses branches étaient belles, Son feuillage était touffu, sa tige élevée, Et sa cime s'élançait au milieu d'épais rameaux.(FR) 3 ׃31 הִנֵּ֨ה אַשּׁ֜וּר אֶ֣רֶז בַּלְּבָנ֗וֹן יְפֵ֥ה עָנָ֛ף וְחֹ֥רֶשׁ מֵצַ֖ל וּגְבַ֣הּ קוֹמָ֑ה וּבֵ֣ין עֲבֹתִ֔ים הָיְתָ֖ה צַמַּרְתּֽוֹ׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:3 'Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon With beautiful branches and forest shade, And very high, And its top was among the clouds. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:4 ============ Eze 31:4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:4 The waters nourished him, and the deepe exalted him on hie with her riuers running round about his plants, and sent out her litle riuers vnto all the trees of the fielde.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:4 Les eaux l'avaient fait croître, L'abîme l'avait fait pousser en hauteur; Des fleuves coulaient autour du lieu où il était planté, Et envoyaient leurs canaux à tous les arbres des champs.(FR) 4 ׃31 מַ֣יִם גִּדְּל֔וּהוּ תְּה֖וֹם רֹֽמְמָ֑תְהוּ אֶת־נַהֲרֹתֶ֗יהָ הֹלֵךְ֙ סְבִיב֣וֹת מַטָּעָ֔הּ וְאֶת־תְּעָלֹתֶ֣יהָ שִׁלְחָ֔ה אֶ֖ל כָּל־עֲצֵ֥י הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:4 'The waters made it grow, the deep made it high. With its rivers it continually extended all around its planting place, And sent out its channels to all the trees of the field. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:5 ============ Eze 31:5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:5 Therefore his height was exalted aboue all the trees of the fielde, and his boughes were multiplied, and his branches were long, because of the multitude of the waters, which the deepe sent out.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:5 C'est pourquoi sa tige s'élevait au-dessus de tous les arbres des champs, Ses branches avaient multiplié, ses rameaux s'étendaient, Par l'abondance des eaux qui l'avaient fait pousser.(FR) 5 ׃31 עַל־כֵּן֙ גָּבְהָ֣א קֹמָת֔וֹ מִכֹּ֖ל עֲצֵ֣י הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה וַתִּרְבֶּ֨ינָה סַֽרְעַפֹּתָ֜יו וַתֶּאֱרַ֧כְנָה *פארתו **פֹארֹתָ֛יו מִמַּ֥יִם רַבִּ֖ים בְּשַׁלְּחֽוֹ׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:5 'Therefore its height was loftier than all the trees of the field And its boughs became many and its branches long Because of many waters as it spread them out. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:6 ============ Eze 31:6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:6 All the foules of the heauen made their nestes in his boughes, and vnder his branches did all the beastes of the fielde bring foorth their yong, and vnder his shadowe dwelt all mightie nations.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:6 Tous les oiseaux du ciel nichaient dans ses branches, Toutes les bêtes des champs faisaient leurs petits sous ses rameaux, Et de nombreuses nations habitaient toutes à son ombre.(FR) 6 ׃31 בִּסְעַפֹּתָ֤יו קִֽנְנוּ֙ כָּל־ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְתַ֤חַת פֹּֽארֹתָיו֙ יָֽלְד֔וּ כֹּ֖ל חַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה וּבְצִלּוֹ֙ יֵֽשְׁב֔וּ כֹּ֖ל גּוֹיִ֥ם רַבִּֽים׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:6 'All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs, And under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, And all great nations lived under its shade. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:8 ============ Eze 31:8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:8 The cedars in the garden of God coulde not hide him: no firre tree was like his branches, and the chessenut trees were not like his boughes: all the trees in the garden of God were not like vnto him in his beautie.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:8 Les cèdres du jardin de Dieu ne le surpassaient point, Les cyprès n'égalaient point ses branches, Et les platanes n'étaient point comme ses rameaux; Aucun arbre du jardin de Dieu ne lui était comparable en beauté.(FR) 8 ׃31 אֲרָזִ֣ים לֹֽא־עֲמָמֻהוּ֮ בְּגַן־אֱלֹהִים֒ בְּרוֹשִׁ֗ים לֹ֤א דָמוּ֙ אֶל־סְעַפֹּתָ֔יו וְעַרְמֹנִ֥ים לֹֽא־הָי֖וּ כְּפֹֽארֹתָ֑יו כָּל־עֵץ֙ בְּגַן־אֱלֹהִ֔ים לֹא־דָמָ֥ה אֵלָ֖יו בְּיָפְיֽוֹ׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:8 'The cedars in God's garden could not match it; The cypresses could not compare with its boughs, And the plane trees could not match its branches. No tree in God's garden could compare with it in its beauty. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:9 ============ Eze 31:9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:9 I made him faire by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, enuied him.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:9 Je l'avais embelli par la multitude de ses branches, Et tous les arbres d'Eden, dans le jardin de Dieu, lui portaient envie.(FR) 9 ׃31 יָפֶ֣ה עֲשִׂיתִ֔יו בְּרֹ֖ב דָּֽלִיּוֹתָ֑יו וַיְקַנְאֻ֙הוּ֙ כָּל־עֲצֵי־עֵ֔דֶן אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּגַ֥ן הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ ס Ezekiel Eze 31:9 'I made it beautiful with the multitude of its branches, And all the trees of Eden, which were in the garden of God, were jealous of it. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:10 ============ Eze 31:10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;(KJV) Ezekiel 31:10 Therefore thus sayeth the Lorde God, Because he is lift vp on high, and hath shot vp his toppe among the thicke boughes, and his heart is lift vp in his height,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:10 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Parce qu'il avait une tige élevée, Parce qu'il lançait sa cime au milieu d'épais rameaux, Et que son coeur était fier de sa hauteur,(FR) 10 ׃31 לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֕עַן אֲשֶׁ֥ר גָּבַ֖הְתָּ בְּקוֹמָ֑ה וַיִּתֵּ֤ן צַמַּרְתּוֹ֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ין עֲבוֹתִ֔ים וְרָ֥ם לְבָב֖וֹ בְּגָבְהֽוֹ׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:10 'Therefore thus says the Lord God, "Because it is high in stature and has set its top among the clouds, and its heart is haughty in its loftiness, (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:11 ============ Eze 31:11 I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:11 I haue therefore deliuered him into the handes of the mightiest among the heathen: he shall handle him, for I haue cast him away for his wickednesse.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:11 Je l'ai livré entre les mains du héros des nations, Qui le traitera selon sa méchanceté; je l'ai chassé.(FR) 11 ׃31 וְאֶ֨תְּנֵ֔הוּ בְּיַ֖ד אֵ֣יל גּוֹיִ֑ם עָשׂ֤וֹ יַֽעֲשֶׂה֙ ל֔וֹ כְּרִשְׁע֖וֹ גֵּרַשְׁתִּֽהוּ׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:11 therefore I will give it into the hand of a despot of the nations; he will thoroughly deal with it. According to its wickedness I have driven it away. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:12 ============ Eze 31:12 And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:12 And the strangers haue destroyed him, euen the terrible nations, and they haue left him vpon the mountaines, and in all the valleis his branches are fallen, and his boughes are broken by all the riuers of the land: and all the people of the earth are departed from his shadowe, and haue forsaken him.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:12 Des étrangers, les plus violents des peuples, l'ont abattu et rejeté; Ses branches sont tombées dans les montagnes et dans toutes les vallées. Ses rameaux se sont brisés dans tous les ravins du pays; Et tous les peuples de la terre se sont retirés de son ombre, Et l'ont abandonné.(FR) 12 ׃31 וַיִּכְרְתֻ֧הוּ זָרִ֛ים עָרִיצֵ֥י גוֹיִ֖ם וַֽיִּטְּשֻׁ֑הוּ אֶל־הֶ֠הָרִים וּבְכָל־גֵּ֨אָי֜וֹת נָפְל֣וּ דָלִיּוֹתָ֗יו וַתִּשָּׁבַ֤רְנָה פֹֽארֹתָיו֙ בְּכֹל֙ אֲפִיקֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ וַיֵּרְד֧וּ מִצִּלּ֛וֹ כָּל־עַמֵּ֥י הָאָ֖רֶץ וַֽיִּטְּשֻֽׁהוּ׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:12 Alien tyrants of the nations have cut it down and left it; on the mountains and in all the valleys its branches have fallen and its boughs have been broken in all the ravines of the land. And all the peoples of the earth have gone down from its shade and left it. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:13 ============ Eze 31:13 Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:(KJV) Ezekiel 31:13 Vpon his ruine shall all the foules of the heauen remaine, and all the beastes of the fielde shall be vpon his branches,(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:13 Sur ses débris sont venus se poser tous les oiseaux du ciel, Et toutes les bêtes des champs ont fait leur gîte parmi ses rameaux,(FR) 13 ׃31 עַל־מַפַּלְתּ֥וֹ יִשְׁכְּנ֖וּ כָּל־ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְאֶל־פֹּארֹתָ֣יו הָי֔וּ כֹּ֖ל חַיַּ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:13 On its ruin all the birds of the heavens will dwell, and all the beasts of the field will be on its fallen branches(nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:14 ============ Eze 31:14 To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:14 So that none of all the trees by the waters shalbe exalted by their height, neither shall shoote vp their toppe among the thicke boughes, neither shall their leaues stand vp in their height, which drinke so much water: for they are all deliuered vnto death in the nether partes of the earth in the middes of the children of men among them that goe downe to the pit.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:14 Afin que tous les arbres près des eaux n'élèvent plus leur tige, Et qu'ils ne lancent plus leur cime au milieu d'épais rameaux, Afin que tous les chênes arrosés d'eau ne gardent plus leur hauteur; Car tous sont livrés à la mort, aux profondeurs de la terre, Parmi les enfants des hommes, Avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.(FR) 14 ׃31 לְמַ֡עַן אֲשֶׁר֩ לֹא־יִגְבְּה֨וּ בְקוֹמָתָ֜ם כָּל־עֲצֵי־מַ֗יִם וְלֹֽא־יִתְּנ֤וּ אֶת־צַמַּרְתָּם֙ אֶל־בֵּ֣ין עֲבֹתִ֔ים וְלֹֽא־יַעַמְד֧וּ אֵלֵיהֶ֛ם בְּגָבְהָ֖ם כָּל־שֹׁ֣תֵי מָ֑יִם כִּֽי־כֻלָּם֩ נִתְּנ֨וּ לַמָּ֜וֶת אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ תַּחְתִּ֗ית בְּת֛וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י אָדָ֖ם אֶל־י֥וֹרְדֵי בֽוֹר׃ ס Ezekiel Eze 31:14 so that all the trees by the waters may not be exalted in their stature, nor set their top among the clouds, nor their well-watered mighty ones stand erect in their height. For they have all been given over to death, to the earth beneath, among the sons of men, with those who go down to the pit."(nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:15 ============ Eze 31:15 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:15 Thus saith the Lord God, In the day when he went downe to hell, I caused them to mourne, and I couered the deepe for him, and I did restreine the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: I caused Lebanon to mourne for him, and all the trees of the fielde fainted.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:15 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Le jour où il est descendu dans le séjour des morts, J'ai répandu le deuil, j'ai couvert l'abîme à cause de lui, Et j'en ai retenu les fleuves; Les grandes eaux ont été arrêtées; J'ai rendu le Liban triste à cause de lui, Et tous les arbres des champs ont été desséchés.(FR) 15 ׃31 כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה בְּי֨וֹם רִדְתּ֤וֹ שְׁא֙וֹלָה֙ הֶאֱבַ֜לְתִּי כִּסֵּ֤תִי עָלָיו֙ אֶת־תְּה֔וֹם וָֽאֶמְנַע֙ נַהֲרוֹתֶ֔יהָ וַיִּכָּלְא֖וּ מַ֣יִם רַבִּ֑ים וָאַקְדִּ֤ר עָלָיו֙ לְבָנ֔וֹן וְכָל־עֲצֵ֥י הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה עָלָ֥יו עֻלְפֶּֽה׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:15 'Thus says the Lord God, "On the day when it went down to Sheol I caused lamentations; I closed the deep over it and held back its rivers. And its many waters were stopped up, and I made Lebanon mourn for it, and all the trees of the field wilted away on account of it. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:16 ============ Eze 31:16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him downe to hell with them that descend into the pit, & all the excellent trees of Eden, and the best of Lebanon: euen all that are nourished with waters, shall be comforted in the nether partes of the earth.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:16 Par le bruit de sa chute j'ai fait trembler les nations, Quand je l'ai précipité dans le séjour des morts, Avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse; Tous les arbres d'Eden ont été consolés dans les profondeurs de la terre, Les plus beaux et les meilleurs du Liban, Tous arrosés par les eaux.(FR) 16 ׃31 מִקּ֤וֹל מַפַּלְתּוֹ֙ הִרְעַ֣שְׁתִּי גוֹיִ֔ם בְּהוֹרִדִ֥י אֹת֛וֹ שְׁא֖וֹלָה אֶת־י֣וֹרְדֵי ב֑וֹר וַיִּנָּ֨חֲמ֜וּ בְּאֶ֤רֶץ תַּחְתִּית֙ כָּל־עֲצֵי־עֵ֔דֶן מִבְחַ֥ר וְטוֹב־לְבָנ֖וֹן כָּל־שֹׁ֥תֵי מָֽיִם׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:16 I made the nations quake at the sound of its fall when I made it go down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all the well-watered trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, were comforted in the earth beneath. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:17 ============ Eze 31:17 They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.(KJV) Ezekiel 31:17 They also went downe to hell with him vnto them that be slaine with the sworde, and his arme, and they that dwelt vnder his shadowe in the middes of the heathen.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:17 Eux aussi sont descendus avec lui dans le séjour des morts, Vers ceux qui ont péri par l'épée; Ils étaient son bras et ils habitaient à son ombre parmi les nations.(FR) 17 ׃31 גַּם־הֵ֗ם אִתּ֛וֹ יָרְד֥וּ שְׁא֖וֹלָה אֶל־חַלְלֵי־חָ֑רֶב וּזְרֹע֛וֹ יָשְׁב֥וּ בְצִלּ֖וֹ בְּת֥וֹךְ גּוֹיִֽם׃ Ezekiel Eze 31:17 They also went down with it to Sheol to those who were slain by the sword; and those who were its strength lived under its shade among the nations. (nasb) ======= Ezekiel 31:18 ============ Eze 31:18 To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.(kjv) Ezekiel 31:18 To whom art thou thus like in glorie and in greatnesse among the trees of Eden? yet thou shalt be cast downe with the trees of Eden vnto the nether partes of the earth: thou shalt sleepe in the middes of the vncircumcised, with them that be slaine by the sworde: this is Pharaoh and all his multitude, sayth the Lord God.(Geneva) Ézéchiel 31:18 A qui ressembles-tu ainsi en gloire et en grandeur Parmi les arbres d'Eden? Tu seras précipité avec les arbres d'Eden Dans les profondeurs de la terre, Tu seras couché au milieu des incirconcis, Avec ceux qui ont péri par l'épée. Voilà Pharaon et toute sa multitude! Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.(FR) 18 ׃31 אֶל־מִ֨י דָמִ֥יתָ כָּ֛כָה בְּכָב֥וֹד וּבְגֹ֖דֶל בַּעֲצֵי־עֵ֑דֶן וְהוּרַדְתָּ֨ אֶת־עֲצֵי־עֵ֜דֶן אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ תַּחְתִּ֗ית בְּת֨וֹךְ עֲרֵלִ֤ים תִּשְׁכַּב֙ אֶת־חַלְלֵי־חֶ֔רֶב ה֤וּא פַרְעֹה֙ וְכָל־הֲמוֹנֹ֔ה נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃ ס Ezekiel Eze 31:18 "To which among the trees of Eden are you thus equal in glory and greatness? Yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth beneath; you will lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who were slain by the sword. So is Pharaoh and all his hordes!"' declares the Lord God."
