(nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:2 ============ Hab 1:2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!(KJV) Habakkuk 1:2 O Lorde, howe long shall I crye, and thou wilt not heare! euen crye out vnto thee for violence, and thou wilt not helpe!(Geneva) Habacuc 1:2 Jusqu'à quand, ô Eternel?... J'ai crié, Et tu n'écoutes pas! J'ai crié vers toi à la violence, Et tu ne secours pas!(FR) 2 ׃1 עַד־אָ֧נָה יְהוָ֛ה שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי וְלֹ֣א תִשְׁמָ֑ע אֶזְעַ֥ק אֵלֶ֛יךָ חָמָ֖ס וְלֹ֥א תוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:2 How long, O Lord, will I call for help, And You will not hear? I cry out to You, "Violence!" Yet You do not save. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:3 ============ Hab 1:3 Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:3 Why doest thou shewe mee iniquitie, and cause me to beholde sorowe? for spoyling, and violence are before me: and there are that rayse vp strife and contention.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:3 Pourquoi me fais-tu voir l'iniquité, Et contemples-tu l'injustice? Pourquoi l'oppression et la violence sont-elles devant moi? Il y a des querelles, et la discorde s'élève.(FR) 3 ׃1 לָ֣מָּה תַרְאֵ֤נִי אָ֙וֶן֙ וְעָמָ֣ל תַּבִּ֔יט וְשֹׁ֥ד וְחָמָ֖ס לְנֶגְדִּ֑י וַיְהִ֧י רִ֦יב וּמָד֖וֹן יִשָּֽׂא׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:3 Why do You make me see iniquity, And cause me to look on wickedness? Yes, destruction and violence are before me; Strife exists and contention arises. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:4 ============ Hab 1:4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:4 Therefore the Lawe is dissolued, and iudgement doeth neuer go forth: for the wicked doeth compasse about the righteous: therefore wrong iudgement proceedeth.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:4 Aussi la loi n'a point de vie, La justice n'a point de force; Car le méchant triomphe du juste, Et l'on rend des jugements iniques.(FR) 4 ׃1 עַל־כֵּן֙ תָּפ֣וּג תּוֹרָ֔ה וְלֹֽא־יֵצֵ֥א לָנֶ֖צַח מִשְׁפָּ֑ט כִּ֤י רָשָׁע֙ מַכְתִּ֣יר אֶת־הַצַּדִּ֔יק עַל־כֵּ֛ן יֵצֵ֥א מִשְׁפָּ֖ט מְעֻקָּֽל׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:4 Therefore the law is ignored And justice is never upheld. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore justice comes out perverted. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:5 ============ Hab 1:5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously: for I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be told you.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:5 Beholde among the heathen, and regarde, and wonder, and maruaile: for I will worke a worke in your dayes: yee will not beleeue it, though it be tolde you.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:5 Jetez les yeux parmi les nations, regardez, Et soyez saisis d'étonnement, d'épouvante! Car je vais faire en vos jours une oeuvre, Que vous ne croiriez pas si on la racontait.(FR) 5 ׃1 רְא֤וּ בַגּוֹיִם֙ וְֽהַבִּ֔יטוּ וְהִֽתַּמְּה֖וּ תְּמָ֑הוּ כִּי־פֹ֙עַל֙ פֹּעֵ֣ל בִּֽימֵיכֶ֔ם לֹ֥א תַאֲמִ֖ינוּ כִּ֥י יְסֻפָּֽר׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:5 "Look among the nations! Observe! Be astonished! Wonder! Because I am doing something in your days-- You would not believe if you were told. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:6 ============ Hab 1:6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not their's.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:6 For lo, I raise vp the Caldeans, that bitter & furious nation, which shall goe vpon the breadth of the lande to possesse the dwelling places, that are not theirs.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:6 Voici, je vais susciter les Chaldéens, Peuple furibond et impétueux, Qui traverse de vastes étendues de pays, Pour s'emparer de demeures qui ne sont pas à lui.(FR) 6 ׃1 כִּֽי־הִנְנִ֤י מֵקִים֙ אֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים הַגּ֖וֹי הַמַּ֣ר וְהַנִּמְהָ֑ר הַֽהוֹלֵךְ֙ לְמֶרְחֲבֵי־אֶ֔רֶץ לָרֶ֖שֶׁת מִשְׁכָּנ֥וֹת לֹּא־לֽוֹ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:6 "For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, That fierce and impetuous people Who march throughout the earth To seize dwelling places which are not theirs. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:7 ============ Hab 1:7 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:7 They are terrible & fearefull: their iudgement & their dignitie shal proceede of theselues.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:7 Il est terrible et formidable; De lui seul viennent son droit et sa grandeur.(FR) 7 ׃1 אָיֹ֥ם וְנוֹרָ֖א ה֑וּא מִמֶּ֕נּוּ מִשְׁפָּט֥וֹ וּשְׂאֵת֖וֹ יֵצֵֽא׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:7 "They are dreaded and feared; Their justice and authority originate with themselves. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:8 ============ Hab 1:8 Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:8 Their horses also are swifter then the leopards, and are more fierce then the wolues in the euening: and their horsemen are many: & their horsemen shall come from farre: they shall flie as the eagle hasting to meate.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:8 Ses chevaux sont plus rapides que les léopards, Plus agiles que les loups du soir, Et ses cavaliers s'avancent avec orgueil; Ses cavaliers arrivent de loin, Ils volent comme l'aigle qui fond sur sa proie.(FR) 8 ׃1 וְקַלּ֨וּ מִנְּמֵרִ֜ים סוּסָ֗יו וְחַדּוּ֙ מִזְּאֵ֣בֵי עֶ֔רֶב וּפָ֖שׁוּ פָּֽרָשָׁ֑יו וּפָֽרָשָׁיו֙ מֵרָח֣וֹק יָבֹ֔אוּ יָעֻ֕פוּ כְּנֶ֖שֶׁר חָ֥שׁ לֶאֱכֽוֹל׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:8 "Their horses are swifter than leopards And keener than wolves in the evening. Their horsemen come galloping, Their horsemen come from afar; They fly like an eagle swooping down to devour. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:9 ============ Hab 1:9 They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:9 They come all to spoyle: before their faces shalbe an Eastwinde, and they shall gather the captiuitie, as the sand.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:9 Tout ce peuple vient pour se livrer au pillage; Ses regards avides se portent en avant, Et il assemble des prisonniers comme du sable.(FR) 9 ׃1 כֻּלֹּה֙ לְחָמָ֣ס יָב֔וֹא מְגַמַּ֥ת פְּנֵיהֶ֖ם קָדִ֑ימָה וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף כַּח֖וֹל שֶֽׁבִי׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:9 "All of them come for violence. Their horde of faces moves forward. They collect captives like sand. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:10 ============ Hab 1:10 And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:10 And they shall mocke the Kings, and the princes shalbe a skorne vnto them: they shall deride euery strong holde: for they shall gather dust, and take it.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:10 Il se moque des rois, Et les princes font l'objet de ses railleries; Il se rit de toutes les forteresses, Il amoncelle de la terre, et il les prend.(FR) 10 ׃1 וְהוּא֙ בַּמְּלָכִ֣ים יִתְקַלָּ֔ס וְרֹזְנִ֖ים מִשְׂחָ֣ק ל֑וֹ ה֚וּא לְכָל־מִבְצָ֣ר יִשְׂחָ֔ק וַיִּצְבֹּ֥ר עָפָ֖ר וַֽיִּלְכְּדָֽהּ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:10 "They mock at kings And rulers are a laughing matter to them. They laugh at every fortress And heap up rubble to capture it. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:11 ============ Hab 1:11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:11 Then shall they take a courage, & transgresse & doe wickedly, imputing this their power vnto their god.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:11 Alors son ardeur redouble, Il poursuit sa marche, et il se rend coupable. Sa force à lui, voilà son dieu!(FR) 11 ׃1 אָ֣ז חָלַ֥ף ר֛וּחַ וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר וְאָשֵׁ֑ם ז֥וּ כֹח֖וֹ לֵאלֹהֽוֹ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:11 "Then they will sweep through like the wind and pass on. But they will be held guilty, They whose strength is their god."(nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:12 ============ Hab 1:12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:12 Art thou not of olde, O Lorde my God, mine holy one? we shall not die: O Lord, thou hast ordeined them for iudgement, and O God, thou hast established them for correction.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:12 N'es-tu pas de toute éternité, Eternel, mon Dieu, mon Saint? Nous ne mourrons pas! O Eternel, tu as établi ce peuple pour exercer tes jugements; O mon rocher, tu l'as suscité pour infliger tes châtiments.(FR) 12 ׃1 הֲל֧וֹא אַתָּ֣ה מִקֶּ֗דֶם יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהַ֛י קְדֹשִׁ֖י לֹ֣א נָמ֑וּת יְהוָה֙ לְמִשְׁפָּ֣ט שַׂמְתּ֔וֹ וְצ֖וּר לְהוֹכִ֥יחַ יְסַדְתּֽוֹ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:12 Are You not from everlasting, O Lord, my God, my Holy One? We will not die. You, O Lord, have appointed them to judge; And You, O Rock, have established them to correct. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:13 ============ Hab 1:13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?(KJV) Habakkuk 1:13 Thou art of pure eyes, and canst not see euill: thou canst not behold wickednesse: wherefore doest thou looke vpon the transgressors, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked deuoureth the man, that is more righteous then he?(Geneva) Habacuc 1:13 Tes yeux sont trop purs pour voir le mal, Et tu ne peux pas regarder l'iniquité. Pourquoi regarderais-tu les perfides, et te tairais-tu, Quand le méchant dévore celui qui est plus juste que lui?(FR) 13 ׃1 טְה֤וֹר עֵינַ֙יִם֙ מֵרְא֣וֹת רָ֔ע וְהַבִּ֥יט אֶל־עָמָ֖ל לֹ֣א תוּכָ֑ל לָ֤מָּה תַבִּיט֙ בּֽוֹגְדִ֔ים תַּחֲרִ֕ישׁ בְּבַלַּ֥ע רָשָׁ֖ע צַדִּ֥יק מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:13 Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You can not look on wickedness with favor. Why do You look with favor On those who deal treacherously? Why are You silent when the wicked swallow up Those more righteous than they? (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:14 ============ Hab 1:14 And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?(KJV) Habakkuk 1:14 And makest men as the fishes of the sea, and as the creeping things, that haue no ruler ouer them.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:14 Traiterais-tu l'homme comme les poissons de la mer, Comme le reptile qui n'a point de maître?(FR) 14 ׃1 וַתַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אָדָ֖ם כִּדְגֵ֣י הַיָּ֑ם כְּרֶ֖מֶשׂ לֹא־מֹשֵׁ֥ל בּֽוֹ׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:14 Why have You made men like the fish of the sea, Like creeping things without a ruler over them? (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:15 ============ Hab 1:15 They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:15 They take vp all with the angle: they catch it in their net, and gather it in their yarne, whereof they reioyce and are glad.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:15 Il les fait tous monter avec l'hameçon, Il les attire dans son filet, Il les assemble dans ses rets: Aussi est-il dans la joie et dans l'allégresse.(FR) 15 ׃1 כֻּלֹּה֙ בְּחַכָּ֣ה הֵֽעֲלָ֔ה יְגֹרֵ֣הוּ בְחֶרְמ֔וֹ וְיַאַסְפֵ֖הוּ בְּמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ עַל־כֵּ֖ן יִשְׂמַ֥ח וְיָגִֽיל׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:15 The Chaldeans bring all of them up with a hook, Drag them away with their net, And gather them together in their fishing net. Therefore they rejoice and are glad. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:16 ============ Hab 1:16 Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.(KJV) Habakkuk 1:16 Therefore they sacrifice vnto their net, and burne incense vnto their yarne, because by them their portion is fat & their meat plenteous.(Geneva) Habacuc 1:16 C'est pourquoi il sacrifie à son filet, Il offre de l'encens à ses rets; Car par eux sa portion est grasse, Et sa nourriture succulente.(FR) 16 ׃1 עַל־כֵּן֙ יְזַבֵּ֣חַ לְחֶרְמ֔וֹ וִֽיקַטֵּ֖ר לְמִכְמַרְתּ֑וֹ כִּ֤י בָהֵ֙מָּה֙ שָׁמֵ֣ן חֶלְק֔וֹ וּמַאֲכָל֖וֹ בְּרִאָֽה׃ Habakkuk Hab 1:16 Therefore they offer a sacrifice to their net And burn incense to their fishing net; Because through these things their catch is large, And their food is plentiful. (nasb) ======= Habakkuk 1:17 ============ Hab 1:17 Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?(kjv) Habakkuk 1:17 Shall they therefore stretch out their net and not spare continually to slay the nations?(Geneva) Habacuc 1:17 Videra-t-il pour cela son filet, Et toujours égorgera-t-il sans pitié les nations?(FR) 17 ׃1 הַ֥עַל כֵּ֖ן יָרִ֣יק חֶרְמ֑וֹ וְתָמִ֛יד לַהֲרֹ֥ג גּוֹיִ֖ם לֹ֥א יַחְמֽוֹל׃ ס Habakkuk Hab 1:17 Will they therefore empty their net And continually slay nations without sparing?
