(nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:3 ============ Zep 1:3 I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:3 I will destroy man and beast: I wil destroy the foules of the heauen, and the fishes of the sea, and ruines shalbe to the wicked, and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:3 Je détruirai les hommes et les bêtes, Les oiseaux du ciel et les poissons de la mer, Les objets de scandale, et les méchants avec eux; J'exterminerai les hommes de la face de la terre, Dit l'Eternel.(FR) 3 ׃1 אָסֵ֨ף אָדָ֜ם וּבְהֵמָ֗ה אָסֵ֤ף עוֹף־הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וּדְגֵ֣י הַיָּ֔ם וְהַמַּכְשֵׁל֖וֹת אֶת־הָרְשָׁעִ֑ים וְהִכְרַתִּ֣י אֶת־הָאָדָ֗ם מֵעַ֛ל פְּנֵ֥י הָאֲדָמָ֖ה נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:3 "I will remove man and beast; I will remove the birds of the sky And the fish of the sea, And the ruins along with the wicked; And I will cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the Lord. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:4 ============ Zep 1:4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;(KJV) Zephaniah 1:4 I will also stretch out mine hand vpon Iudah, and vpon all the inhabitants of Ierusalem, and I wil cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with ye Priestes,(Geneva) Sophonie 1:4 J'étendrai ma main sur Juda, Et sur tous les habitants de Jérusalem; J'exterminerai de ce lieu les restes de Baal, Le nom de ses ministres et les prêtres avec eux,(FR) 4 ׃1 וְנָטִ֤יתִי יָדִי֙ עַל־יְהוּדָ֔ה וְעַ֖ל כָּל־יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְהִכְרַתִּ֞י מִן־הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ אֶת־שְׁאָ֣ר הַבַּ֔עַל אֶת־שֵׁ֥ם הַכְּמָרִ֖ים עִם־הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:4 "So I will stretch out My hand against Judah And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, And the names of the idolatrous priests along with the priests. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:5 ============ Zep 1:5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;(KJV) Zephaniah 1:5 And them that worship the hoste of heauen vpon the house tops, and them that worship and sweare by the Lord, and sweare by Malcham,(Geneva) Sophonie 1:5 Ceux qui se prosternent sur les toits devant l'armée des cieux, Ceux qui se prosternent en jurant par l'Eternel Et en jurant par leur roi,(FR) 5 ׃1 וְאֶת־הַמִּשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥ים עַל־הַגַּגּ֖וֹת לִצְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְאֶת־הַמִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוִים֙ הַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֣ים לַֽיהוָ֔ה וְהַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֖ים בְּמַלְכָּֽם׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:5 "And those who bow down on the housetops to the host of heaven, And those who bow down and swear to the Lord and yet swear by Milcom, (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:6 ============ Zep 1:6 And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:6 And them that are turned backe from the Lord, and those that haue not sought the Lorde, nor inquired for him.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:6 Ceux qui se sont détournés de l'Eternel, Et ceux qui ne cherchent pas l'Eternel, Qui ne le consultent pas.(FR) 6 ׃1 וְאֶת־הַנְּסוֹגִ֖ים מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַאֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹֽא־בִקְשׁ֥וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א דְרָשֻֽׁהוּ׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:6 And those who have turned back from following the Lord, And those who have not sought the Lord or inquired of Him."(nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:7 ============ Zep 1:7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:7 Be stil at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, and hath sanctified his ghests.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:7 Silence devant le Seigneur, l'Eternel! For the day of the Lord is near, For the Lord has prepared a sacrifice, He has consecrated His guests. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:8 ============ Zep 1:8 And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:8 And it shalbe in the day of the Lords sacrifice, that I will visite the princes and the Kings children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparell.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:8 Au jour du sacrifice de l'Eternel, Je châtierai les princes et les fils du roi, Et tous ceux qui portent des vêtements étrangers.(FR) 8 ׃1 וְהָיָ֗ה בְּיוֹם֙ זֶ֣בַח יְהוָ֔ה וּפָקַדְתִּ֥י עַל־הַשָּׂרִ֖ים וְעַל־בְּנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְעַ֥ל כָּל־הַלֹּבְשִׁ֖ים מַלְבּ֥וּשׁ נָכְרִֽי׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:8 "Then it will come about on the day of the Lord's sacrifice That I will punish the princes, the king's sons And all who clothe themselves with foreign garments. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:9 ============ Zep 1:9 In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:9 In the same day also will I visite all those that dance vpon the threshold so proudly, which fill their masters houses by crueltie and deceite.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:9 En ce jour-là, je châtierai tous ceux qui sautent par-dessus le seuil, Ceux qui remplissent de violence et de fraude la maison de leur maître.(FR) 9 ׃1 וּפָקַדְתִּ֗י עַ֧ל כָּל־הַדּוֹלֵ֛ג עַל־הַמִּפְתָּ֖ן בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא הַֽמְמַלְאִ֛ים בֵּ֥ית אֲדֹנֵיהֶ֖ם חָמָ֥ס וּמִרְמָֽה׃ ס Zephaniah Zep 1:9 "And I will punish on that day all who leap on the temple threshold, Who fill the house of their lord with violence and deceit. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:10 ============ Zep 1:10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:10 And in that day, saith the Lord, there shall be a noise, and cry from the fishgate, and an howling from the second gate, and a great destruction from the hilles.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:10 En ce jour-là, dit l'Eternel, Il y aura des cris à la porte des poissons, Des lamentations dans l'autre quartier de la ville, Et un grand désastre sur les collines.(FR) 10 ׃1 וְהָיָה֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא נְאֻם־יְהוָ֗ה ק֤וֹל צְעָקָה֙ מִשַּׁ֣עַר הַדָּגִ֔ים וִֽילָלָ֖ה מִן־הַמִּשְׁנֶ֑ה וְשֶׁ֥בֶר גָּד֖וֹל מֵהַגְּבָעֽוֹת׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:10 "On that day," declares the Lord, "There will be the sound of a cry from the Fish Gate, A wail from the Second Quarter, And a loud crash from the hills. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:11 ============ Zep 1:11 Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:11 Howle ye inhabitants of the lowe place: for the companie of the marchants is destroyed: all they that beare siluer, are cut off.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:11 Gémissez, habitants de Macthesch! Car tous ceux qui trafiquent sont détruits, Tous les hommes chargés d'argent sont exterminés.(FR) 11 ׃1 הֵילִ֖ילוּ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י הַמַּכְתֵּ֑שׁ כִּ֤י נִדְמָה֙ כָּל־עַ֣ם כְּנַ֔עַן נִכְרְת֖וּ כָּל־נְטִ֥ילֵי כָֽסֶף׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:11 "Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, For all the people of Canaan will be silenced; All who weigh out silver will be cut off. (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:12 ============ Zep 1:12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:12 And at that time will I searche Ierusalem with lightes, and visite the men that are frosen in their dregges, & say in their heartes, The Lord will neither doe good nor doe euill.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:12 En ce temps-là, je fouillerai Jérusalem avec des lampes, Et je châtierai les hommes qui reposent sur leurs lies, Et qui disent dans leur coeur: L'Eternel ne fait ni bien ni mal.(FR) 12 ׃1 וְהָיָה֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא אֲחַפֵּ֥שׂ אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בַּנֵּר֑וֹת וּפָקַדְתִּ֣י עַל־הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים הַקֹּֽפְאִים֙ עַל־שִׁמְרֵיהֶ֔ם הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ בִּלְבָבָ֔ם לֹֽא־יֵיטִ֥יב יְהוָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א יָרֵֽעַ׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:12 "It will come about at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will punish the men Who are stagnant in spirit, Who say in their hearts, 'The Lord will not do good or evil!'(nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:13 ============ Zep 1:13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:13 Therefore their goods shall be spoyled, and their houses waste: they shall also build houses, but not inhabite them, and they shall plant vineyards, but not drinke the wine thereof.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:13 Leurs biens seront au pillage, Et leurs maisons seront dévastées; Ils auront bâti des maisons, qu'ils n'habiteront plus, Ils auront planté des vignes, dont ils ne boiront plus le vin.(FR) 13 ׃1 וְהָיָ֤ה חֵילָם֙ לִמְשִׁסָּ֔ה וּבָתֵּיהֶ֖ם לִשְׁמָמָ֑ה וּבָנ֤וּ בָתִּים֙ וְלֹ֣א יֵשֵׁ֔בוּ וְנָטְע֣וּ כְרָמִ֔ים וְלֹ֥א יִשְׁתּ֖וּ אֶת־יֵינָֽם׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:13 "Moreover, their wealth will become plunder And their houses desolate; Yes, they will build houses but not inhabit them, And plant vineyards but not drink their wine."(nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:14 ============ Zep 1:14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.(KJV) Zephaniah 1:14 The great day of the Lorde is neere: it is neere, and hasteth greatly, euen the voyce of the day of the Lord: the strong man shall cry there bitterly.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:14 Le grand jour de l'Eternel est proche, Il est proche, il arrive en toute hâte; Le jour de l'Eternel fait entendre sa voix, Et le héros pousse des cris amers.(FR) 14 ׃1 קָר֤וֹב יוֹם־יְהוָה֙ הַגָּד֔וֹל קָר֖וֹב וּמַהֵ֣ר מְאֹ֑ד ק֚וֹל י֣וֹם יְהוָ֔ה מַ֥ר צֹרֵ֖חַ שָׁ֥ם גִּבּֽוֹר׃ Zephaniah Zep 1:14 Near is the great day of the Lord, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the Lord! (nasb) ======= Zephaniah 1:18 ============ Zep 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.(kjv) Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their siluer nor their golde shalbe able to deliuer them in ye day of the Lords wrath, but the whole lande shalbe deuoured by the fire of his ielousie: for hee shall make euen a speedie riddance of all them that dwell in the land.(Geneva) Sophonie 1:18 Ni leur argent ni leur or ne pourront les délivrer, Au jour de la fureur de l'Eternel; Par le feu de sa jalousie tout le pays sera consumé; Car il détruira soudain tous les habitants du pays.(FR) 18 ׃1 גַּם־כַּסְפָּ֨ם גַּם־זְהָבָ֜ם לֹֽא־יוּכַ֣ל לְהַצִּילָ֗ם בְּיוֹם֙ עֶבְרַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה וּבְאֵשׁ֙ קִנְאָת֔וֹ תֵּאָכֵ֖ל כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־כָלָ֤ה אַךְ־נִבְהָלָה֙ יַֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה אֵ֥ת כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י הָאָֽרֶץ׃ ס Zephaniah Zep 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold Will be able to deliver them On the day of the Lord's wrath; And all the earth will be devoured In the fire of His jealousy, For He will make a complete end, Indeed a terrifying one, Of all the inhabitants of the earth.
