And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden'?"(nasb) Gen 3:1 ὁ δὲ ὄφις ἦν φρονιμώτατος πάντων τῶν θηρίων τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὧν ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεός καὶ εἶπεν ὁ ὄφις τῇ γυναικί τί ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ θεός οὐ μὴ φάγητε ἀπὸ παντὸς ξύλου τοῦ ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ (lxx) Gen 3:1 Sed et serpens erat callidior cunctis animantibus terræ quæ fecerat Dominus Deus. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:2 ============ Gen 3:2 The woman said to the serpent, "From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat;(nasb) Gen 3:2 καὶ εἶπεν ἡ γυνὴ τῷ ὄφει ἀπὸ καρποῦ ξύλου τοῦ παραδείσου φαγόμεθα (lxx) Gen 3:2 Cui respondit mulier: De fructu lignorum, quæ sunt in paradiso, vescimur:(vulgate) Gen 3:2 Da sprach das Weib zu der Schlange: Wir essen von den Früchten der Bäume im Garten;(dhs) Gen 3:2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:3 ============ Gen 3:3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.'"(nasb) Gen 3:3 ἀπὸ δὲ καρποῦ τοῦ ξύλου ὅ ἐστιν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ παραδείσου εἶπεν ὁ θεός οὐ φάγεσθε ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ μὴ ἅψησθε αὐτοῦ ἵνα μὴ ἀποθάνητε (lxx) Gen 3:3 de fructu vero ligni quod est in medio paradisi, præcepit nobis Deus ne comederemus, et ne tangeremus illud, ne forte moriamur.(vulgate) Gen 3:3 aber von den Früchten des Baumes mitten im Garten hat Gott gesagt: Eßt nicht davon, rührt's auch nicht an, daß ihr nicht sterbt.(dhs) Gen 3:3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' "(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:4 ============ Gen 3:4 The serpent said to the woman, "You surely will not die!(nasb) Gen 3:4 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ ὄφις τῇ γυναικί οὐ θανάτῳ ἀποθανεῖσθε (lxx) Gen 3:4 Dixit autem serpens ad mulierem: Nequaquam morte moriemini.(vulgate) Gen 3:4 Da sprach die Schlange zum Weibe: Ihr werdet mitnichten des Todes sterben;(dhs) Gen 3:4 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:5 ============ Gen 3:5 For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."(nasb) Gen 3:5 ᾔδει γὰρ ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐν ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ φάγητε ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ διανοιχθήσονται ὑμῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί καὶ ἔσεσθε ὡς θεοὶ γινώσκοντες καλὸν καὶ πονηρόν (lxx) Gen 3:5 Scit enim Deus quod in quocumque die comederitis ex eo, aperientur oculi vestri, et eritis sicut dii, scientes bonum et malum.(vulgate) Gen 3:5 sondern Gott weiß, daß, welches Tages ihr davon eßt, so werden eure Augen aufgetan, und werdet sein wie Gott und wissen, was gut und böse ist.(dhs) Gen 3:5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:6 ============ Gen 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.(nasb) Gen 3:6 καὶ εἶδεν ἡ γυνὴ ὅτι καλὸν τὸ ξύλον εἰς βρῶσιν καὶ ὅτι ἀρεστὸν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ἰδεῖν καὶ ὡραῖόν ἐστιν τοῦ κατανοῆσαι καὶ λαβοῦσα τοῦ καρποῦ αὐτοῦ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἔδωκεν καὶ τῷ ἀνδρὶ αὐτῆς μετ᾽ αὐτῆς καὶ ἔφαγον (lxx) Gen 3:6 Vidit igitur mulier quod bonum esset lignum ad vescendum, et pulchrum oculis, aspectuque delectabile: et tulit de fructu illius, et comedit: deditque viro suo, qui comedit.(vulgate) Gen 3:6 Und das Weib schaute an, daß von dem Baum gut zu essen wäre und daß er lieblich anzusehen und ein lustiger Baum wäre, weil er klug machte; und sie nahm von der Frucht und aß und gab ihrem Mann auch davon, und er aß.(dhs) Gen 3:6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:7 ============ Gen 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.(nasb) Gen 3:7 καὶ διηνοίχθησαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ τῶν δύο καὶ ἔγνωσαν ὅτι γυμνοὶ ἦσαν καὶ ἔρραψαν φύλλα συκῆς καὶ ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοῖς περιζώματα (lxx) Gen 3:7 Et aperti sunt oculi amborum; cumque cognovissent se esse nudos, consuerunt folia ficus, et fecerunt sibi perizomata.(vulgate) Gen 3:7 Da wurden ihrer beiden Augen aufgetan, und sie wurden gewahr, daß sie nackt waren, und flochten Feigenblätter zusammen und machten sich Schürze.(dhs) Gen 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:8 ============ Gen 3:8 They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.(nasb) Gen 3:8 καὶ ἤκουσαν τὴν φωνὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ περιπατοῦντος ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ τὸ δειλινόν καὶ ἐκρύβησαν ὅ τε Αδαμ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ ξύλου τοῦ παραδείσου (lxx) Gen 3:8 Et cum audissent vocem Domini Dei deambulantis in paradiso ad auram post meridiem, abscondit se Adam et uxor ejus a facie Domini Dei in medio ligni paradisi.(vulgate) Gen 3:8 Und sie hörten die Stimme Gottes des HERRN, der im Garten ging, da der Tag kühl geworden war. Und Adam versteckte sich mit seinem Weibe vor dem Angesicht Gottes des HERRN unter die Bäume im Garten.(dhs) Gen 3:8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:9 ============ Gen 3:9 Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"(nasb) Gen 3:9 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τὸν Αδαμ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Αδαμ ποῦ εἶ (lxx) Gen 3:9 Vocavitque Dominus Deus Adam, et dixit ei: Ubi es?(vulgate) Gen 3:9 Und Gott der HERR rief Adam und sprach zu ihm: Wo bist du?(dhs) Gen 3:9 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:10 ============ Gen 3:10 He said, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself."(nasb) Gen 3:10 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τὴν φωνήν σου ἤκουσα περιπατοῦντος ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ καὶ ἐφοβήθην ὅτι γυμνός εἰμι καὶ ἐκρύβην (lxx) Gen 3:10 Qui ait: Vocem tuam audivi in paradiso, et timui, eo quod nudus essem, et abscondi me.(vulgate) Gen 3:10 Und er sprach: Ich hörte deine Stimme im Garten und fürchtete mich; denn ich bin nackt, darum versteckte ich mich.(dhs) Gen 3:10 So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:11 ============ Gen 3:11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?"(nasb) Gen 3:11 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τίς ἀνήγγειλέν σοι ὅτι γυμνὸς εἶ μὴ ἀπὸ τοῦ ξύλου οὗ ἐνετειλάμην σοι τούτου μόνου μὴ φαγεῖν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἔφαγες (lxx) Gen 3:11 Cui dixit: Quis enim indicavit tibi quod nudus esses, nisi quod ex ligno de quo præceperam tibi ne comederes, comedisti?(vulgate) Gen 3:11 Und er sprach: Wer hat dir's gesagt, daß du nackt bist? Hast du nicht gegessen von dem Baum, davon ich dir gebot, du solltest nicht davon essen?(dhs) Gen 3:11 And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:12 ============ Gen 3:12 The man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate."(nasb) Gen 3:12 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Αδαμ ἡ γυνή ἣν ἔδωκας μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ αὕτη μοι ἔδωκεν ἀπὸ τοῦ ξύλου καὶ ἔφαγον (lxx) Gen 3:12 Dixitque Adam: Mulier, quam dedisti mihi sociam, dedit mihi de ligno, et comedi.(vulgate) Gen 3:12 Da sprach Adam: Das Weib, das du mir zugesellt hast, gab mir von von dem Baum, und ich aß.(dhs) Gen 3:12 Then the man said, "The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:13 ============ Gen 3:13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."(nasb) Gen 3:13 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῇ γυναικί τί τοῦτο ἐποίησας καὶ εἶπεν ἡ γυνή ὁ ὄφις ἠπάτησέν με καὶ ἔφαγον (lxx) Gen 3:13 Et dixit Dominus Deus ad mulierem: Quare hoc fecisti? Quæ respondit: Serpens decepit me, et comedi.~(vulgate) Gen 3:13 Da sprach Gott der HERR zum Weibe: Warum hast du das getan? Das Weib sprach: Die Schlange betrog mich also, daß ich aß.(dhs) Gen 3:13 And the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:14 ============ Gen 3:14 The Lord God said to the serpent," Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life;(nasb) Gen 3:14 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῷ ὄφει ὅτι ἐποίησας τοῦτο ἐπικατάρατος σὺ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν θηρίων τῆς γῆς ἐπὶ τῷ στήθει σου καὶ τῇ κοιλίᾳ πορεύσῃ καὶ γῆν φάγῃ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου (lxx) Gen 3:14 Et ait Dominus Deus ad serpentem: [Quia fecisti hoc, maledictus es inter omnia animantia, et bestias terræ: super pectus tuum gradieris, et terram comedes cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ.(vulgate) Gen 3:14 Da sprach Gott der HERR zu der Schlange: Weil du solches getan hast, seist du verflucht vor allem Vieh und vor allen Tieren auf dem Felde. Auf deinem Bauche sollst du gehen und Erde essen dein Leben lang.(dhs) Gen 3:14 So the Lord God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:15 ============ Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."(nasb) Gen 3:15 καὶ ἔχθραν θήσω ἀνὰ μέσον σου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γυναικὸς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σπέρματός σου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῆς αὐτός σου τηρήσει κεφαλήν καὶ σὺ τηρήσεις αὐτοῦ πτέρναν (lxx) Gen 3:15 Inimicitias ponam inter te et mulierem, et semen tuum et semen illius: ipsa conteret caput tuum, et tu insidiaberis calcaneo ejus.](vulgate) Gen 3:15 Und ich will Feindschaft setzen zwischen dir und dem Weibe und zwischen deinem Samen und ihrem Samen. Derselbe soll dir den Kopf zertreten, und du wirst ihn in die Ferse stechen.(dhs) Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:16 ============ Gen 3:16 To the woman He said, "I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you will bring forth children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he will rule over you."(nasb) Gen 3:16 καὶ τῇ γυναικὶ εἶπεν πληθύνων πληθυνῶ τὰς λύπας σου καὶ τὸν στεναγμόν σου ἐν λύπαις τέξῃ τέκνα καὶ πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα σου ἡ ἀποστροφή σου καὶ αὐτός σου κυριεύσει (lxx) Gen 3:16 Mulieri quoque dixit: Multiplicabo ærumnas tuas, et conceptus tuos: in dolore paries filios, et sub viri potestate eris, et ipse dominabitur tui.(vulgate) Gen 3:16 Und zum Weibe sprach er: Ich will dir viel Schmerzen schaffen, wenn du schwanger wirst; du sollst mit Schmerzen Kinder gebären; und dein Verlangen soll nach deinem Manne sein, und er soll dein Herr sein.(dhs) Gen 3:16 To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:17 ============ Gen 3:17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat from it'; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life.(nasb) Gen 3:17 τῷ δὲ Αδαμ εἶπεν ὅτι ἤκουσας τῆς φωνῆς τῆς γυναικός σου καὶ ἔφαγες ἀπὸ τοῦ ξύλου οὗ ἐνετειλάμην σοι τούτου μόνου μὴ φαγεῖν ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἐπικατάρατος ἡ γῆ ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις σου ἐν λύπαις φάγῃ αὐτὴν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου (lxx) Gen 3:17 Adæ vero dixit: Quia audisti vocem uxoris tuæ, et comedisti de ligno, ex quo præceperam tibi ne comederes, maledicta terra in opere tuo: in laboribus comedes ex ea cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ.(vulgate) Gen 3:17 Und zu Adam sprach er: Dieweil du hast gehorcht der Stimme deines Weibes und hast gegessen von dem Baum, davon ich dir gebot und sprach: Du sollst nicht davon essen, verflucht sei der Acker um deinetwillen, mit Kummer sollst du dich darauf nähren dein Leben lang.(dhs) Gen 3:17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': "Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:18 ============ Gen 3:18 "Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field;(nasb) Gen 3:18 ἀκάνθας καὶ τριβόλους ἀνατελεῖ σοι καὶ φάγῃ τὸν χόρτον τοῦ ἀγροῦ (lxx) Gen 3:18 Spinas et tribulos germinabit tibi, et comedes herbam terræ.(vulgate) Gen 3:18 Dornen und Disteln soll er dir tragen, und sollst das Kraut auf dem Felde essen.(dhs) Gen 3:18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:19 ============ Gen 3:19 By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return."(nasb) Gen 3:19 ἐν ἱδρῶτι τοῦ προσώπου σου φάγῃ τὸν ἄρτον σου ἕως τοῦ ἀποστρέψαι σε εἰς τὴν γῆν ἐξ ἧς ἐλήμφθης ὅτι γῆ εἶ καὶ εἰς γῆν ἀπελεύσῃ (lxx) Gen 3:19 In sudore vultus tui vesceris pane, donec revertaris in terram de qua sumptus es: quia pulvis es et in pulverem reverteris.(vulgate) Gen 3:19 Im Schweiße deines Angesichts sollst du dein Brot essen, bis daß du wieder zu Erde werdest, davon du genommen bist. Denn du bist Erde und sollst zu Erde werden.(dhs) Gen 3:19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:20 ============ Gen 3:20 Now the man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living.(nasb) Gen 3:20 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Αδαμ τὸ ὄνομα τῆς γυναικὸς αὐτοῦ Ζωή ὅτι αὕτη μήτηρ πάντων τῶν ζώντων (lxx) Gen 3:20 Et vocavit Adam nomen uxoris suæ, Heva: eo quod mater esset cunctorum viventium.(vulgate) Gen 3:20 Und Adam hieß sein Weib Eva, darum daß sie eine Mutter ist aller Lebendigen.(dhs) Gen 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:21 ============ Gen 3:21 The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.(nasb) Gen 3:21 καὶ ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῷ Αδαμ καὶ τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ χιτῶνας δερματίνους καὶ ἐνέδυσεν αὐτούς (lxx) Gen 3:21 Fecit quoque Dominus Deus Adæ et uxori ejus tunicas pelliceas, et induit eos:(vulgate) Gen 3:21 Und Gott der HERR machte Adam und seinem Weibe Röcke von Fellen und kleidete sie.(dhs) Gen 3:21 Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 3:22 ============ Gen 3:22 Then the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever""(nasb) Gen 3:22 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός ἰδοὺ Αδαμ γέγονεν ὡς εἷς ἐξ ἡμῶν τοῦ γινώσκειν καλὸν καὶ πονηρόν καὶ νῦν μήποτε ἐκτείνῃ τὴν χεῖρα καὶ λάβῃ τοῦ ξύλου τῆς ζωῆς καὶ φάγῃ καὶ ζήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα (lxx) Gen 3:22 et ait: Ecce Adam quasi unus ex nobis factus est, sciens bonum et malum: nunc ergo ne forte mittat manum suam, et sumat etiam de ligno vitæ, et comedat, et vivat in æternum.(vulgate) Gen 3:22 Und Gott der HERR sprach: Siehe, Adam ist geworden wie unsereiner und weiß, was gut und böse ist. Nun aber, daß er nicht ausstrecke seine Hand und breche auch von dem Baum des Lebens und esse und lebe ewiglich!(dhs) Gen 3:22 Then the Lord God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil.
