Today's Date: ======= Genesis 31:1 ============ Gen 31:1 Now Jacob heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, "Jacob has taken away all that was our father's, and from what belonged to our father he has made all this wealth."(nasb) Gen 31:1 ἤκουσεν δὲ Ιακωβ τὰ ῥήματα τῶν υἱῶν Λαβαν λεγόντων εἴληφεν Ιακωβ πάντα τὰ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ ἐκ τῶν τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν πεποίηκεν πᾶσαν τὴν δόξαν ταύτην (lxx) Gen 31:1 Postquam autem audivit verba filiorum Laban dicentium: Tulit Jacob omnia quæ fuerunt patris nostri, et de illius facultate ditatus, factus est inclytus:(vulgate) Gen 31:1 Und es kamen vor ihn die Reden der Kinder Labans, daß sie sprachen: Jakob hat alles Gut unsers Vaters an sich gebracht, und von unsers Vaters Gut hat er solchen Reichtum zuwege gebracht.(dhs) Gen 31:1 Now Jacob heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, "Jacob has taken away all that was our father's, and from what was our father's he has acquired all this wealth."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:2 ============ Gen 31:2 Jacob saw the attitude of Laban, and behold, it was not friendly toward him as formerly.(nasb) Gen 31:2 καὶ εἶδεν Ιακωβ τὸ πρόσωπον τοῦ Λαβαν καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἦν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὡς ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην ἡμέραν (lxx) Gen 31:2 animadvertit quoque faciem Laban, quod non esset erga se sicut heri et nudiustertius,(vulgate) Gen 31:2 Und Jakob sah an das Angesicht Labans; und siehe, es war nicht gegen ihn wie gestern und ehegestern.(dhs) Gen 31:2 And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and indeed it was not favorable toward him as before.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:3 ============ Gen 31:3 Then the Lord said to Jacob, "Return to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and I will be with you."(nasb) Gen 31:3 εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Ιακωβ ἀποστρέφου εἰς τὴν γῆν τοῦ πατρός σου καὶ εἰς τὴν γενεάν σου καὶ ἔσομαι μετὰ σοῦ (lxx) Gen 31:3 maxime dicente sibi Domino: Revertere in terram patrum tuorum, et ad generationem tuam, eroque tecum.(vulgate) Gen 31:3 Und der HERR sprach zu Jakob: Ziehe wieder in deiner Väter Land und zu deiner Freundschaft; ich will mit dir sein.(dhs) Gen 31:3 Then the Lord said to Jacob, "Return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:4 ============ Gen 31:4 So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to his flock in the field,(nasb) Gen 31:4 ἀποστείλας δὲ Ιακωβ ἐκάλεσεν Ραχηλ καὶ Λειαν εἰς τὸ πεδίον οὗ τὰ ποίμνια (lxx) Gen 31:4 Misit, et vocavit Rachel et Liam in agrum, ubi pascebat greges,(vulgate) Gen 31:4 Da sandte Jakob hin und ließ rufen Rahel und Lea aufs Feld zu seiner Herde(dhs) Gen 31:4 So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flock,(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:5 ============ Gen 31:5 and said to them, "I see your father's attitude, that it is not friendly toward me as formerly, but the God of my father has been with me.(nasb) Gen 31:5 καὶ εἶπεν αὐταῖς ὁρῶ ἐγὼ τὸ πρόσωπον τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν πρὸς ἐμοῦ ὡς ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτην ἡμέραν ὁ δὲ θεὸς τοῦ πατρός μου ἦν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ (lxx) Gen 31:5 dixitque eis: Video faciem patris vestri quod non sit erga me sicut heri et nudiustertius: Deus autem patris mei fuit mecum.(vulgate) Gen 31:5 und sprach zu ihnen: Ich sehe eures Vaters Angesicht, daß es nicht gegen mich ist wie gestern und ehegestern; aber der Gott meines Vaters ist mit mir gewesen.(dhs) Gen 31:5 and said to them, "I see your father's countenance, that it is not favorable toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:6 ============ Gen 31:6 You know that I have served your father with all my strength.(nasb) Gen 31:6 καὶ αὐταὶ δὲ οἴδατε ὅτι ἐν πάσῃ τῇ ἰσχύι μου δεδούλευκα τῷ πατρὶ ὑμῶν (lxx) Gen 31:6 Et ipsæ nostis quod totis viribus meis servierim patri vestro.(vulgate) Gen 31:6 Und ihr wißt, daß ich aus allen meinen Kräften eurem Vater gedient habe.(dhs) Gen 31:6 And you know that with all my might I have served your father.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:7 ============ Gen 31:7 Yet your father has cheated me and changed my wages ten times; however, God did not allow him to hurt me.(nasb) Gen 31:7 ὁ δὲ πατὴρ ὑμῶν παρεκρούσατό με καὶ ἤλλαξεν τὸν μισθόν μου τῶν δέκα ἀμνῶν καὶ οὐκ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ὁ θεὸς κακοποιῆσαί με (lxx) Gen 31:7 Sed et pater vester circumvenit me et mutavit mercedem meam decem vicibus: et tamen non dimisit eum Deus ut noceret mihi.(vulgate) Gen 31:7 Und er hat mich getäuscht und nun zehnmal meinen Lohn verändert; aber Gott hat ihm nicht gestattet, daß er mir Schaden täte.(dhs) Gen 31:7 Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:8 ============ Gen 31:8 If he spoke thus, 'The speckled shall be your wages,' then all the flock brought forth speckled; and if he spoke thus, 'The striped shall be your wages,' then all the flock brought forth striped.(nasb) Gen 31:8 ἐὰν οὕτως εἴπῃ τὰ ποικίλα ἔσται σου μισθός καὶ τέξεται πάντα τὰ πρόβατα ποικίλα ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃ τὰ λευκὰ ἔσται σου μισθός καὶ τέξεται πάντα τὰ πρόβατα λευκά (lxx) Gen 31:8 Si quando dixit: Variæ erunt mercedes tuæ: pariebant omnes oves varios fœtus; quando vero e contrario, ait: Alba quæque accipies pro mercede: omnes greges alba pepererunt.(vulgate) Gen 31:8 Wenn er sprach: Die Bunten sollen dein Lohn sein, so trug die ganze Herde Bunte. Wenn er aber sprach: Die Sprenkligen sollen dein Lohn sein, so trug die ganze Herde Sprenklinge.(dhs) Gen 31:8 If he said thus: 'The speckled shall be your wages,' then all the flocks bore speckled. And if he said thus: 'The streaked shall be your wages,' then all the flocks bore streaked.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:9 ============ Gen 31:9 Thus God has taken away your father's livestock and given them to me.(nasb) Gen 31:9 καὶ ἀφείλατο ὁ θεὸς πάντα τὰ κτήνη τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν καὶ ἔδωκέν μοι αὐτά (lxx) Gen 31:9 Tulitque Deus substantiam patris vestri, et dedit mihi.(vulgate) Gen 31:9 Also hat Gott die Güter eures Vaters ihm entwandt und mir gegeben.(dhs) Gen 31:9 So God has taken away the livestock of your father and given them to me.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:10 ============ Gen 31:10 And it came about at the time when the flock were mating that I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream, and behold, the male goats which were mating were striped, speckled, and mottled.(nasb) Gen 31:10 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἐνεκίσσων τὰ πρόβατα καὶ εἶδον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς αὐτὰ ἐν τῷ ὕπνῳ καὶ ἰδοὺ οἱ τράγοι καὶ οἱ κριοὶ ἀναβαίνοντες ἦσαν ἐπὶ τὰ πρόβατα καὶ τὰς αἶγας διάλευκοι καὶ ποικίλοι καὶ σποδοειδεῖς ῥαντοί (lxx) Gen 31:10 Postquam enim conceptus ovium tempus advenerat, levavi oculos meos, et vidi in somnis ascendentes mares super feminas, varios et maculosos, et diversorum colorum.(vulgate) Gen 31:10 Denn wenn die Zeit des Laufs kam, hob ich meine Augen auf und sah im Traum, und siehe, die Böcke, die auf die Herde sprangen, waren sprenklig, gefleckt und bunt.(dhs) Gen 31:10 And it happened, at the time when the flocks conceived, that I lifted my eyes and saw in a dream, and behold, the rams which leaped upon the flocks were streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:11 ============ Gen 31:11 Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, 'Jacob,' and I said, 'Here I am.'(nasb) Gen 31:11 καὶ εἶπέν μοι ὁ ἄγγελος τοῦ θεοῦ καθ᾽ ὕπνον Ιακωβ ἐγὼ δὲ εἶπα τί ἐστιν (lxx) Gen 31:11 Dixitque angelus Dei ad me in somnis: Jacob? Et ego respondi: Adsum.(vulgate) Gen 31:11 Und der Engel Gottes sprach zu mir im Traum: Jakob! Und ich antwortete: Hier bin ich.(dhs) Gen 31:11 Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, 'Jacob.' And I said, 'Here I am.'(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:12 ============ Gen 31:12 He said, 'Lift up now your eyes and see that all the male goats which are mating are striped, speckled, and mottled; for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you.(nasb) Gen 31:12 καὶ εἶπεν ἀνάβλεψον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἰδὲ τοὺς τράγους καὶ τοὺς κριοὺς ἀναβαίνοντας ἐπὶ τὰ πρόβατα καὶ τὰς αἶγας διαλεύκους καὶ ποικίλους καὶ σποδοειδεῖς ῥαντούς ἑώρακα γὰρ ὅσα σοι Λαβαν ποιεῖ (lxx) Gen 31:12 Qui ait: Leva oculos tuos, et vide universos masculos ascendentes super feminas, varios, maculosos, atque respersos. Vidi enim omnia quæ fecit tibi Laban.(vulgate) Gen 31:12 Er aber sprach: Hebe deine Augen, und siehe, alle Böcke, die auf die Herde springen, sind sprenklig, gefleckt und bunt; denn ich habe alles gesehen, was dir Laban tut.(dhs) Gen 31:12 And He said, 'Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the flocks are streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted; for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:13 ============ Gen 31:13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar, where you made a vow to Me; now arise, leave this land, and return to the land of your birth.'"(nasb) Gen 31:13 ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεὸς ὁ ὀφθείς σοι ἐν τόπῳ θεοῦ οὗ ἤλειψάς μοι ἐκεῖ στήλην καὶ ηὔξω μοι ἐκεῖ εὐχήν νῦν οὖν ἀνάστηθι καὶ ἔξελθε ἐκ τῆς γῆς ταύτης καὶ ἄπελθε εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς γενέσεώς σου καὶ ἔσομαι μετὰ σοῦ (lxx) Gen 31:13 Ego sum Deus Bethel, ubi unxisti lapidem, et votum vovisti mihi. Nunc ergo surge, et egredere de terra hac, revertens in terram nativitatis tuæ.(vulgate) Gen 31:13 Ich bin der Gott zu Beth-El, da du den Stein gesalbt hast und mir daselbst ein Gelübde getan. Nun mache dich auf und zieh aus diesem Land und zieh wieder in das Land deiner Freundschaft.(dhs) Gen 31:13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and where you made a vow to Me. Now arise, get out of this land, and return to the land of your family.' "(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:14 ============ Gen 31:14 Rachel and Leah said to him, "Do we still have any portion or inheritance in our father's house?(nasb) Gen 31:14 καὶ ἀποκριθεῖσα Ραχηλ καὶ Λεια εἶπαν αὐτῷ μὴ ἔστιν ἡμῖν ἔτι μερὶς ἢ κληρονομία ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν (lxx) Gen 31:14 Responderuntque Rachel et Lia: Numquid habemus residui quidquam in facultatibus et hæreditate domus patris nostri?(vulgate) Gen 31:14 Da antworteten Rahel und Lea und sprachen zu ihm: Wir haben doch kein Teil noch Erbe mehr in unsers Vaters Hause.(dhs) Gen 31:14 Then Rachel and Leah answered and said to him, "Is there still any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:15 ============ Gen 31:15 Are we not reckoned by him as foreigners? For he has sold us, and has also entirely consumed our purchase price.(nasb) Gen 31:15 οὐχ ὡς αἱ ἀλλότριαι λελογίσμεθα αὐτῷ πέπρακεν γὰρ ἡμᾶς καὶ κατέφαγεν καταβρώσει τὸ ἀργύριον ἡμῶν (lxx) Gen 31:15 nonne quasi alienas reputavit nos, et vendidit, comeditque pretium nostrum?(vulgate) Gen 31:15 Hat er uns doch gehalten wie die Fremden; denn er hat uns verkauft und unsern Lohn verzehrt;(dhs) Gen 31:15 Are we not considered strangers by him? For he has sold us, and also completely consumed our money.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:16 ============ Gen 31:16 Surely all the wealth which God has taken away from our father belongs to us and our children; now then, do whatever God has said to you."(nasb) Gen 31:16 πάντα τὸν πλοῦτον καὶ τὴν δόξαν ἣν ἀφείλατο ὁ θεὸς τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν ἡμῖν ἔσται καὶ τοῖς τέκνοις ἡμῶν νῦν οὖν ὅσα εἴρηκέν σοι ὁ θεός ποίει (lxx) Gen 31:16 Sed Deus tulit opes patris nostri, et eas tradidit nobis, ac filiis nostris: unde omnia quæ præcepit tibi Deus, fac.(vulgate) Gen 31:16 darum hat Gott unserm Vater entwandt seinen Reichtum zu uns und unsern Kindern. Alles nun, was Gott dir gesagt hat, das tue.(dhs) Gen 31:16 For all these riches which God has taken from our father are really ours and our children's; now then, whatever God has said to you, do it."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:17 ============ Gen 31:17 Then Jacob arose and put his children and his wives upon camels;(nasb) Gen 31:17 ἀναστὰς δὲ Ιακωβ ἔλαβεν τὰς γυναῖκας αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ παιδία αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὰς καμήλους (lxx) Gen 31:17 Surrexit itaque Jacob, et impositis liberis ac conjugibus suis super camelos, abiit.(vulgate) Gen 31:17 Also machte sich Jakob auf und lud seine Kinder und Weiber auf Kamele(dhs) Gen 31:17 Then Jacob rose and set his sons and his wives on camels.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:18 ============ Gen 31:18 and he drove away all his livestock and all his property which he had gathered, his acquired livestock which he had gathered in Paddan-aram, to go to the land of Canaan to his father Isaac.(nasb) Gen 31:18 καὶ ἀπήγαγεν πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτοῦ ἣν περιεποιήσατο ἐν τῇ Μεσοποταμίᾳ καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ ἀπελθεῖν πρὸς Ισαακ τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ εἰς γῆν Χανααν (lxx) Gen 31:18 Tulitque omnem substantiam suam, et greges, et quidquid in Mesopotamia acquisierat, pergens ad Isaac patrem suum in terram Chanaan.~(vulgate) Gen 31:18 und führte weg all sein Vieh und alle seine Habe, die er zu Mesopotamien erworben hatte, daß er käme zu Isaak, seinem Vater, ins Land Kanaan.(dhs) Gen 31:18 And he carried away all his livestock and all his possessions which he had gained, his acquired livestock which he had gained in Padan Aram, to go to his father Isaac in the land of Canaan.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:19 ============ Gen 31:19 When Laban had gone to shear his flock, then Rachel stole the household idols that were her father's.(nasb) Gen 31:19 Λαβαν δὲ ᾤχετο κεῖραι τὰ πρόβατα αὐτοῦ ἔκλεψεν δὲ Ραχηλ τὰ εἴδωλα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῆς (lxx) Gen 31:19 Eo tempore ierat Laban ad tondendas oves, et Rachel furata est idola patris sui.(vulgate) Gen 31:19 (Laban aber war gegangen sein Herde zu scheren.) Und Rahel stahl ihres Vaters Götzen.(dhs) Gen 31:19 Now Laban had gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel had stolen the household idols that were her father's.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:20 ============ Gen 31:20 And Jacob deceived Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was fleeing.(nasb) Gen 31:20 ἔκρυψεν δὲ Ιακωβ Λαβαν τὸν Σύρον τοῦ μὴ ἀναγγεῖλαι αὐτῷ ὅτι ἀποδιδράσκει (lxx) Gen 31:20 Noluitque Jacob confiteri socero suo quod fugeret.(vulgate) Gen 31:20 Also täuschte Jakob den Laban zu Syrien damit, daß er ihm nicht ansagte, daß er floh.(dhs) Gen 31:20 And Jacob stole away, unknown to Laban the Syrian, in that he did not tell him that he intended to flee.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:21 ============ Gen 31:21 So he fled with all that he had; and he arose and crossed the Euphrates River, and set his face toward the hill country of Gilead.(nasb) Gen 31:21 καὶ ἀπέδρα αὐτὸς καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ καὶ διέβη τὸν ποταμὸν καὶ ὥρμησεν εἰς τὸ ὄρος Γαλααδ (lxx) Gen 31:21 Cumque abiisset tam ipse quam omnia quæ juris sui erant, et amne transmisso pergeret contra montem Galaad,(vulgate) Gen 31:21 Also floh er und alles, was sein war, machte sich auf und fuhr über den Strom und richtete sich nach dem Berge Gilead.(dhs) Gen 31:21 So he fled with all that he had. He arose and crossed the river, and headed toward the mountains of Gilead.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:22 ============ Gen 31:22 When it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled,(nasb) Gen 31:22 ἀνηγγέλη δὲ Λαβαν τῷ Σύρῳ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ὅτι ἀπέδρα Ιακωβ (lxx) Gen 31:22 nuntiatum est Laban die tertio quod fugeret Jacob.(vulgate) Gen 31:22 Am dritten Tage ward Laban angesagt, daß Jakob geflohen wäre.(dhs) Gen 31:22 And Laban was told on the third day that Jacob had fled.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:23 ============ Gen 31:23 then he took his kinsmen with him and pursued him a distance of seven days' journey, and he overtook him in the hill country of Gilead.(nasb) Gen 31:23 καὶ παραλαβὼν πάντας τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ μεθ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ ἐδίωξεν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ ὁδὸν ἡμερῶν ἑπτὰ καὶ κατέλαβεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ Γαλααδ (lxx) Gen 31:23 Qui, assumptis fratribus suis, persecutus est eum diebus septem: et comprehendit eum in monte Galaad.(vulgate) Gen 31:23 Und er nahm seine Brüder zu sich und jagte ihm nach sieben Tagereisen und ereilte ihn auf dem Berge Gilead.(dhs) Gen 31:23 Then he took his brethren with him and pursued him for seven days' journey, and he overtook him in the mountains of Gilead.(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:24 ============ Gen 31:24 God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream of the night and said to him, "Be careful that you do not speak to Jacob either good or bad."(nasb) Gen 31:24 ἦλθεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Λαβαν τὸν Σύρον καθ᾽ ὕπνον τὴν νύκτα καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ φύλαξαι σεαυτόν μήποτε λαλήσῃς μετὰ Ιακωβ πονηρά (lxx) Gen 31:24 Viditque in somnis dicentem sibi Deum: Cave ne quidquam aspere loquaris contra Jacob.(vulgate) Gen 31:24 Aber Gott kam zu Laban, dem Syrer, im Traum des Nachts und sprach zu ihm: Hüte dich, daß du mit Jakob nicht anders redest als freundlich.(dhs) Gen 31:24 But God had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, "Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad."(nkjv) ======= Genesis 31:25 ============ Gen 31:25 Laban caught up with Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the hill country, and Laban with his kinsmen camped in the hill country of Gilead.(nasb) Gen 31:25 καὶ κατέλαβεν Λαβαν τὸν Ιακωβ Ιακωβ δὲ ἔπηξεν τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Λαβαν δὲ ἔστησεν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ ὄρει Γαλααδ (lxx) Gen 31:25 Jamque Jacob extenderat in monte tabernaculum: cumque ille consecutus fuisset eum cum fratribus suis, in eodem monte Galaad fixit tentorium.(vulgate) Gen 31:25 Und Laban nahte zu Jakob. Jakob aber hatte seine Hütte aufgeschlagen auf dem Berge; und Laban mit seinen Brüdern schlug seine Hütte auch auf auf dem Berge Gilead.(dhs) Gen 31:25 So Laban overtook Jacob. Qui cum comedissent, manserunt ibi:(vulgate) Gen 31:54 Und Jakob schwur ihm bei der Furcht seines Vaters Isaak. Und Jakob opferte auf dem Berge und lud seine Brüder zum Essen.
