Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations."(nasb) 1Sa 8:5 καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ ἰδοὺ σὺ γεγήρακας καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου οὐ πορεύονται ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ σου καὶ νῦν κατάστησον ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς βασιλέα δικάζειν ἡμᾶς καθὰ καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη (lxx) 1Sa 8:5 Dixeruntque ei: Ecce tu senuisti, et filii tui non ambulant in viis tuis: constitue nobis regem, ut judicet nos, sicut et universæ habent nationes.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:5 und sprachen zu ihm: Siehe, du bist alt geworden, und deine Söhne wandeln nicht in deinen Wegen; so setze nun einen König über uns, der uns richte, wie alle Heiden haben.(dhs) 1Sa 8:5 and said to him, "Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations."(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 8:6 ============ 1Sa 8:6 But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, "Give us a king to judge us." And Samuel prayed to the Lord.(nasb) 1Sa 8:6 καὶ ἦν πονηρὸν τὸ ῥῆμα ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς Σαμουηλ ὡς εἶπαν δὸς ἡμῖν βασιλέα δικάζειν ἡμᾶς καὶ προσηύξατο Σαμουηλ πρὸς κύριον (lxx) 1Sa 8:6 Displicuit sermo in oculis Samuelis, eo quod dixissent: Da nobis regem, ut judicet nos. Et oravit Samuel ad Dominum.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:6 Das gefiel Samuel übel, daß sie sagten: Gib uns einen König, der uns richte. populum, qui petierat a se regem.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:10 Und Samuel sagte alle Worte des HERRN dem Volk, das von ihm einen König forderte,(dhs) 1Sa 8:10 So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who asked him for a king.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 8:11 ============ 1Sa 8:11 He said, "This will be the procedure of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and place them for himself in his chariots and among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots.(nasb) 1Sa 8:11 καὶ εἶπεν τοῦτο ἔσται τὸ δικαίωμα τοῦ βασιλέως ὃς βασιλεύσει ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς τοὺς υἱοὺς ὑμῶν λήμψεται καὶ θήσεται αὐτοὺς ἐν ἅρμασιν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἱππεῦσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ προτρέχοντας τῶν ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 8:11 Et ait: Hoc erit jus regis, qui imperaturus est vobis: filios vestros tollet, et ponet in curribus suis: facietque sibi equites et præcursores quadrigarum suarum,(vulgate) 1Sa 8:11 und sprach: Das wird des Königs Recht sein, der über euch herrschen wird: Eure Söhne wird er nehmen zu seinem Wagen und zu Reitern, und daß sie vor seinem Wagen her laufen,(dhs) 1Sa 8:11 And he said, "This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 8:12 ============ 1Sa 8:12 He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.(nasb) 1Sa 8:12 καὶ θέσθαι αὐτοὺς ἑαυτῷ χιλιάρχους καὶ ἑκατοντάρχους καὶ θερίζειν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ τρυγᾶν τρυγητὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ποιεῖν σκεύη πολεμικὰ αὐτοῦ καὶ σκεύη ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 8:12 et constituet sibi tribunos, et centuriones, et aratores agrorum suorum, et messores segetum, et fabros armorum et curruum suorum.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:12 und zu Hauptleuten über tausend und über fünfzig und zu Ackerleuten, die ihm seinen Acker bauen, und zu Schnittern in seiner Ernte, und daß sie seine Kriegswaffen und was zu seinen Wagen gehört, machen.(dhs) 1Sa 8:12 He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and some to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 8:13 ============ 1Sa 8:13 He will also take your daughters for perfumers and cooks and bakers.(nasb) 1Sa 8:13 καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας ὑμῶν λήμψεται εἰς μυρεψοὺς καὶ εἰς μαγειρίσσας καὶ εἰς πεσσούσας (lxx) 1Sa 8:13 Filias quoque vestras faciet sibi unguentarias, et focarias, et panificas.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:13 Eure Töchter aber wird er nehmen, daß sie Salbenbereiterinnen, Köchinnen und Bäckerinnen seien.(dhs) 1Sa 8:13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers.(nkjv) ======= 1 Samuel 8:14 ============ 1Sa 8:14 He will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his servants.(nasb) 1Sa 8:14 καὶ τοὺς ἀγροὺς ὑμῶν καὶ τοὺς ἀμπελῶνας ὑμῶν καὶ τοὺς ἐλαιῶνας ὑμῶν τοὺς ἀγαθοὺς λήμψεται καὶ δώσει τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 8:14 Agros quoque vestros, et vineas, et oliveta optima tollet, et dabit servis suis.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:14 Eure besten Äcker und ὑμῶν ἀποδεκατώσει καὶ δώσει τοῖς εὐνούχοις αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 8:15 Sed et segetes vestras et vinearum reditus addecimabit, ut det eunuchis et famulis suis.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:15 Dazu So Samuel said to the men of Israel, "Go every man to his city."(nasb) 1Sa 8:22 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Σαμουηλ ἄκουε τῆς φωνῆς αὐτῶν καὶ βασίλευσον αὐτοῖς βασιλέα καὶ εἶπεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς ἄνδρας Ισραηλ ἀποτρεχέτω ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ (lxx) 1Sa 8:22 Dixit autem Dominus ad Samuelem: Audi vocem eorum, et constitue super eos regem. Et ait Samuel ad viros Israël: Vadat unusquisque in civitatem suam.(vulgate) 1Sa 8:22 Der HERR aber sprach zu Samuel: Gehorche ihrer Stimme und mache ihnen einen König. Und Samuel sprach zu den Männern Israels: Geht hin, ein jeglicher in seine Stadt.(dhs) 1Sa 8:22 So the Lord said to Samuel, "Heed their voice, and make them a king."
