Today's Date: Job 11:20 But the eyes of the wicked will fail, And they shall not escape, And their hope--loss of life!"(nkjv) ======= Job 12:1 ============ Job 12:1 Then Job responded,(nasb) Job 12:1 ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ιωβ λέγει (lxx) Job 12:1 Respondens autem Job, dixit:(vulgate) Job 12:1 Da antwortete Hiob und sprach:(dhs) Job 12:1 Then Job answered and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 12:2 ============ Job 12:2 "Truly then you are the people, And with you wisdom will die!(nasb) Job 12:2 εἶτα ὑμεῖς ἐστε ἄνθρωποι ἦ μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν τελευτήσει σοφία (lxx) Job 12:2 [Ergo vos estis soli homines, et vobiscum morietur sapientia?(vulgate) Job 12:2 Ja, ihr seid die Leute, mit euch wird die Weisheit sterben!(dhs) Job 12:2 "No doubt you are the people, And wisdom will die with you!(nkjv) ======= Job 12:3 ============ Job 12:3 "But I have intelligence as well as you; I am not inferior to you. And who does not know such things as these?(nasb) Job 12:3 κἀμοὶ μὲν καρδία καθ᾽ ὑμᾶς ἐστιν (lxx) Job 12:3 Et mihi est cor sicut et vobis, nec inferior vestri sum; quis enim hæc quæ nostis ignorat?(vulgate) Job 12:3 Ich habe so wohl ein Herz als ihr und bin nicht geringer denn ihr; und wer ist, der solches nicht wisse?(dhs) Job 12:3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Indeed, who does not know such things as these?(nkjv) ======= Job 12:4 ============ Job 12:4 "I am a joke to my friends, The one who called on God and He answered him; The just and blameless man is a joke.(nasb) Job 12:4 δίκαιος γὰρ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἄμεμπτος ἐγενήθη εἰς χλεύασμα (lxx) Job 12:4 Qui deridetur ab amico suo, sicut ego, invocabit Deum, et exaudiet eum: deridetur enim justi simplicitas.(vulgate) Job 12:4 Ich muß von meinem Nächsten verlacht sein, der ich Gott anrief, und er erhörte mich. Der Gerechte und Fromme muß verlacht sein(dhs) Job 12:4 "I am one mocked by his friends, Who called on God, and He answered him, The just and blameless who is ridiculed.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:5 ============ Job 12:5 "He who is at ease holds calamity in contempt, As prepared for those whose feet slip.(nasb) Job 12:5 εἰς χρόνον γὰρ τακτὸν ἡτοίμαστο πεσεῖν ὑπὸ ἄλλους οἴκους τε αὐτοῦ ἐκπορθεῖσθαι ὑπὸ ἀνόμων (lxx) Job 12:5 Lampas contempta apud cogitationes divitum parata ad tempus statutum.(vulgate) Job 12:5 und ist ein verachtet Lichtlein vor den Gedanken der Stolzen, steht aber, daß sie sich daran ärgern.(dhs) Job 12:5 A lamp is despised in the thought of one who is at ease; It is made ready for those whose feet slip.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:6 ============ Job 12:6 "The tents of the destroyers prosper, And those who provoke God are secure, Whom God brings into their power.(nasb) Job 12:6 οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ μηδεὶς πεποιθέτω πονηρὸς ὢν ἀθῷος ἔσεσθαι ὅσοι παροργίζουσιν τὸν κύριον ὡς οὐχὶ καὶ ἔτασις αὐτῶν ἔσται (lxx) Job 12:6 Abundant tabernacula prædonum, et audacter provocant Deum, cum ipse dederit omnia in manus eorum.(vulgate) Job 12:6 Der Verstörer Hütten haben die Fülle, und Ruhe haben, die wider Gott toben, die ihren Gott in der Faust führen.(dhs) Job 12:6 The tents of robbers prosper, And those who provoke God are secure-- In what God provides by His hand.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:7 ============ Job 12:7 "But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.(nasb) Job 12:7 ἀλλὰ δὴ ἐπερώτησον τετράποδα ἐάν σοι εἴπωσιν πετεινὰ δὲ οὐρανοῦ ἐάν σοι ἀπαγγείλωσιν (lxx) Job 12:7 Nimirum interroga jumenta, et docebunt te; et volatilia cæli, et indicabunt tibi.(vulgate) Job 12:7 Frage doch das Vieh, das wird dich's lehren und die Vögel unter dem Himmel, die werden dir's sagen;(dhs) Job 12:7 "But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air, and they will tell you;(nkjv) ======= Job 12:8 ============ Job 12:8 "Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; And let the fish of the sea declare to you.(nasb) Job 12:8 ἐκδιήγησαι δὲ γῇ ἐάν σοι φράσῃ καὶ ἐξηγήσονταί σοι οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης (lxx) Job 12:8 Loquere terræ, et respondebit tibi, et narrabunt pisces maris.(vulgate) Job 12:8 oder rede mit der Erde, die wird dich's lehren, und die Fische im Meer werden dir's erzählen.(dhs) Job 12:8 Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:9 ============ Job 12:9 "Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this,(nasb) Job 12:9 τίς οὐκ ἔγνω ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις ὅτι χεὶρ κυρίου ἐποίησεν ταῦτα (lxx) Job 12:9 Quis ignorat quod omnia hæc manus Domini fecerit?(vulgate) Job 12:9 Wer erkennte nicht an dem allem, daß des HERRN Hand solches gemacht hat?(dhs) Job 12:9 Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this,(nkjv) ======= Job 12:10 ============ Job 12:10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?(nasb) Job 12:10 εἰ μὴ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ ψυχὴ πάντων τῶν ζώντων καὶ πνεῦμα παντὸς ἀνθρώπου (lxx) Job 12:10 In cujus manu anima omnis viventis, et spiritus universæ carnis hominis.(vulgate) Job 12:10 daß in seiner Hand ist die Seele alles dessen, was da lebt, und der Geist des Fleisches aller Menschen?(dhs) Job 12:10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?(nkjv) ======= Job 12:11 ============ Job 12:11 "Does not the ear test words, As the palate tastes its food?(nasb) Job 12:11 οὖς μὲν γὰρ ῥήματα διακρίνει λάρυγξ δὲ σῖτα γεύεται (lxx) Job 12:11 Nonne auris verba dijudicat? et fauces comedentis, saporem?(vulgate) Job 12:11 Prüft nicht das Ohr die Rede? und der Mund schmeckt die Speise?(dhs) Job 12:11 Does not the ear test words And the mouth taste its food?(nkjv) ======= Job 12:12 ============ Job 12:12 "Wisdom is with aged men, With long life is understanding.(nasb) Job 12:12 ἐν πολλῷ χρόνῳ σοφία ἐν δὲ πολλῷ βίῳ ἐπιστήμη (lxx) Job 12:12 In antiquis est sapientia, et in multo tempore prudentia.(vulgate) Job 12:12 Ja, "bei den Großvätern ist die Weisheit, und der Verstand bei den Alten".(dhs) Job 12:12 Wisdom is with aged men, And with length of days, understanding.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:13 ============ Job 12:13 "With Him are wisdom and might; To Him belong counsel and understanding.(nasb) Job 12:13 παρ᾽ αὐτῷ σοφία καὶ δύναμις αὐτῷ βουλὴ καὶ σύνεσις (lxx) Job 12:13 Apud ipsum est sapientia et fortitudo; ipse habet consilium et intelligentiam.(vulgate) Job 12:13 Bei ihm ist Weisheit und Gewalt, Rat und Verstand.(dhs) Job 12:13 "With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:14 ============ Job 12:14 "Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be rebuilt; He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.(nasb) Job 12:14 ἐὰν καταβάλῃ τίς οἰκοδομήσει ἐὰν κλείσῃ κατὰ ἀνθρώπων τίς ἀνοίξει (lxx) Job 12:14 Si destruxerit, nemo est qui ædificet; si incluserit hominem, nullus est qui aperiat.(vulgate) Job 12:14 Siehe, wenn er zerbricht, so hilft kein Bauen; wenn er jemand einschließt, kann niemand aufmachen.(dhs) Job 12:14 If He breaks a thing down, it cannot be rebuilt; If He imprisons a man, there can be no release.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:15 ============ Job 12:15 "Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up; And He sends them out, and they inundate the earth.(nasb) Job 12:15 ἐὰν κωλύσῃ τὸ ὥδωρ ξηρανεῖ τὴν γῆν ἐὰν δὲ ἐπαφῇ ἀπώλεσεν αὐτὴν καταστρέψας (lxx) Job 12:15 Si continuerit aquas, omnia siccabuntur; et si emiserit eas, subvertent terram.(vulgate) Job 12:15 Siehe, wenn er das Wasser verschließt, so wird alles dürr; und wenn er's ausläßt, so kehrt es das Land um.(dhs) Job 12:15 If He withholds the waters, they dry up; If He sends them out, they overwhelm the earth.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:16 ============ Job 12:16 "With Him are strength and sound wisdom, The misled and the misleader belong to Him.(nasb) Job 12:16 παρ᾽ αὐτῷ κράτος καὶ ἰσχύς αὐτῷ ἐπιστήμη καὶ σύνεσις (lxx) Job 12:16 Apud ipsum est fortitudo et sapientia; ipse novit et decipientem, et eum qui decipitur.(vulgate) Job 12:16 Er ist stark und führt es aus. Sein ist, der da irrt und der da verführt.(dhs) Job 12:16 With Him are strength and prudence. The deceived and the deceiver are His.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:17 ============ Job 12:17 "He makes counselors walk barefoot And makes fools of judges.(nasb) Job 12:17 διάγων βουλευτὰς αἰχμαλώτους κριτὰς δὲ γῆς ἐξέστησεν (lxx) Job 12:17 Adducit consiliarios in stultum finem, et judices in stuporem.(vulgate) Job 12:17 Er führt die Klugen wie einen Raub und macht die Richter toll.(dhs) Job 12:17 He leads counselors away plundered, And makes fools of the judges.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:18 ============ Job 12:18 "He loosens the bond of kings And binds their loins with a girdle.(nasb) Job 12:18 καθιζάνων βασιλεῖς ἐπὶ θρόνους καὶ περιέδησεν ζώνῃ ὀσφύας αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 12:18 Balteum regum dissolvit, et præcingit fune renes eorum.(vulgate) Job 12:18 Er löst auf der Könige Zwang und bindet mit einem Gurt ihre Lenden.(dhs) Job 12:18 He loosens the bonds of kings, And binds their waist with a belt.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:19 ============ Job 12:19 "He makes priests walk barefoot And overthrows the secure ones.(nasb) Job 12:19 ἐξαποστέλλων ἱερεῖς αἰχμαλώτους δυνάστας δὲ γῆς κατέστρεψεν (lxx) Job 12:19 Ducit sacerdotes inglorios, et optimates supplantat:(vulgate) Job 12:19 Er führt die Priester wie einen Raub und bringt zu Fall die Festen.(dhs) Job 12:19 He leads princes away plundered, And overthrows the mighty.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:20 ============ Job 12:20 "He deprives the trusted ones of speech And takes away the discernment of the elders.(nasb) Job 12:20 διαλλάσσων χείλη πιστῶν σύνεσιν δὲ πρεσβυτέρων ἔγνω (lxx) Job 12:20 commutans labium veracium, et doctrinam senum auferens.(vulgate) Job 12:20 Er entzieht die Sprache den Bewährten und nimmt weg den Verstand der Alten.(dhs) Job 12:20 He deprives the trusted ones of speech, And takes away the discernment of the elders.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:21 ============ Job 12:21 "He pours contempt on nobles And loosens the belt of the strong.(nasb) Job 12:21 ἐκχέων ἀτιμίαν ἐπ᾽ ἄρχοντας ταπεινοὺς δὲ ἰάσατο (lxx) Job 12:21 Effundit despectionem super principes, eos qui oppressi fuerant relevans.(vulgate) Job 12:21 Er schüttet Verachtung auf die Fürsten und macht den Gürtel der Gewaltigen los.(dhs) Job 12:21 He pours contempt on princes, And disarms the mighty.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:22 ============ Job 12:22 "He reveals mysteries from the darkness And brings the deep darkness into light.(nasb) Job 12:22 ἀνακαλύπτων βαθέα ἐκ σκότους ἐξήγαγεν δὲ εἰς φῶς σκιὰν θανάτου (lxx) Job 12:22 Qui revelat profunda de tenebris, et producit in lucem umbram mortis.(vulgate) Job 12:22 Er öffnet die finsteren Gründe und bringt heraus das Dunkel an das Licht.(dhs) Job 12:22 He uncovers deep things out of darkness, And brings the shadow of death to light.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:23 ============ Job 12:23 "He makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.(nasb) Job 12:23 πλανῶν ἔθνη καὶ ἀπολλύων αὐτά καταστρωννύων ἔθνη καὶ καθοδηγῶν αὐτά (lxx) Job 12:23 Qui multiplicat gentes, et perdit eas, et subversas in integrum restituit.(vulgate) Job 12:23 Er macht etliche zu großem Volk und bringt sie wieder um. Er breitet ein Volk aus und treibt es wieder weg.(dhs) Job 12:23 He makes nations great, and destroys them; He enlarges nations, and guides them.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:24 ============ Job 12:24 "He deprives of intelligence the chiefs of the earth's people And makes them wander in a pathless waste.(nasb) Job 12:24 διαλλάσσων καρδίας ἀρχόντων γῆς ἐπλάνησεν δὲ αὐτοὺς ὁδῷ ᾗ οὐκ ᾔδεισαν (lxx) Job 12:24 Qui immutat cor principum populi terræ, et decipit eos ut frustra incedant per invium:(vulgate) Job 12:24 Er nimmt weg den Mut der Obersten des Volkes im Lande und macht sie irre auf einem Umwege, da kein Weg ist,(dhs) Job 12:24 He takes away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, And makes them wander in a pathless wilderness.(nkjv) ======= Job 12:25 ============ Job 12:25 "They grope in darkness with no light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken man.(nasb) Job 12:25 ψηλαφήσαισαν σκότος καὶ μὴ φῶς πλανηθείησαν δὲ ὥσπερ ὁ μεθύων (lxx) Job 12:25 palpabunt quasi in tenebris, et non in luce, et errare eos faciet quasi ebrios.](vulgate) Job 12:25 daß sie in Finsternis tappen ohne Licht; und macht sie irre wie die Trunkenen.(dhs) Job 12:25 They grope in the dark without light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken man.(nkjv) ======= Job 13:1 ============ top of the page
