He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.(nasb) Job 14:2 ἢ ὥσπερ ἄνθος ἀνθῆσαν ἐξέπεσεν ἀπέδρα δὲ ὥσπερ σκιὰ καὶ οὐ μὴ στῇ (lxx) Job 14:2 Qui quasi flos egreditur et conteritur, et fugit velut umbra, et numquam in eodem statu permanet.(vulgate) Job 14:2 geht auf wie eine Blume und fällt ab, flieht wie ein Schatten und bleibt nicht.(dhs) Job 14:2 He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue.(nkjv) ======= Job 14:3 ============ Job 14:3 "You also open Your eyes on him And bring him into judgment with Yourself.(nasb) Job 14:3 οὐχὶ καὶ τούτου λόγον ἐποιήσω καὶ τοῦτον ἐποίησας εἰσελθεῖν ἐν κρίματι ἐνώπιόν σου (lxx) Job 14:3 Et dignum ducis super hujuscemodi aperire oculos tuos, et adducere eum tecum in judicium?(vulgate) Job 14:3 Und du tust deine Augen über einen solchen auf, daß du mich vor dir ins Gericht ziehest.(dhs) Job 14:3 And do You open Your eyes on such a one, And bring me to judgment with Yourself?(nkjv) ======= Job 14:4 ============ Job 14:4 "Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one!(nasb) Job 14:4 τίς γὰρ καθαρὸς ἔσται ἀπὸ ῥύπου ἀλλ᾽ οὐθείς (lxx) Job 14:4 Quis potest facere mundum de immundo conceptum semine? nonne tu qui solus es?(vulgate) Job 14:4 Kann wohl ein Reiner kommen von den Unreinen? Auch nicht einer.(dhs) Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!(nkjv) ======= Job 14:5 ============ Job 14:5 "Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.(nasb) Job 14:5 ἐὰν καὶ μία ἡμέρα ὁ βίος αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀριθμητοὶ δὲ μῆνες αὐτοῦ παρὰ σοί εἰς χρόνον ἔθου καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑπερβῇ (lxx) Job 14:5 Breves dies hominis sunt: numerus mensium ejus apud te est: constituisti terminos ejus, qui præteriri non poterunt.(vulgate) Job 14:5 Er hat seine bestimmte Zeit, die Zahl seiner Monden steht bei dir; du hast ein Ziel gesetzt, das wird er nicht überschreiten.(dhs) Job 14:5 Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.(nkjv) ======= Job 14:6 ============ Job 14:6 "Turn Your gaze from him that he may rest, Until he fulfills his day like a hired man.(nasb) Job 14:6 ἀπόστα ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ ἵνα ἡσυχάσῃ καὶ εὐδοκήσῃ τὸν βίον ὥσπερ ὁ μισθωτός (lxx) Job 14:6 Recede paululum ab eo, ut quiescat, donec optata veniat, sicut mercenarii, dies ejus.(vulgate) Job 14:6 So tu dich von ihm, daß er Ruhe habe, bis daß seine Zeit komme, deren er wie ein Tagelöhner wartet.(dhs) Job 14:6 Look away from him that he may rest, Till like a hired man he finishes his day.(nkjv) ======= Job 14:7 ============ Job 14:7 "For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail.(nasb) Job 14:7 ἔστιν γὰρ δένδρῳ ἐλπίς ἐὰν γὰρ ἐκκοπῇ ἔτι ἐπανθήσει καὶ ὁ ῥάδαμνος αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπῃ (lxx) Job 14:7 Lignum habet spem: si præcisum fuerit, rursum virescit, et rami ejus pullulant.(vulgate) Job 14:7 Ein Baum hat Hoffnung, wenn er schon abgehauen ist, daß er sich wieder erneue, und seine Schößlinge hören nicht auf.(dhs) Job 14:7 "For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease.(nkjv) ======= Job 14:8 ============ Job 14:8 "Though its roots grow old in the ground And its stump dies in the dry soil,(nasb) Job 14:8 ἐὰν γὰρ γηράσῃ ἐν γῇ ἡ ῥίζα αὐτοῦ ἐν δὲ πέτρᾳ τελευτήσῃ τὸ στέλεχος αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 14:8 Si senuerit in terra radix ejus, et in pulvere emortuus fuerit truncus illius,(vulgate) Job 14:8 Ob seine Wurzel in der Erde veraltet und sein Stamm im Staub erstirbt,(dhs) Job 14:8 Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground,(nkjv) ======= Job 14:9 ============ Job 14:9 At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.(nasb) Job 14:9 ἀπὸ ὀσμῆς ὕδατος ἀνθήσει ποιήσει δὲ θερισμὸν ὥσπερ νεόφυτον (lxx) Job 14:9 ad odorem aquæ germinabit, et faciet comam, quasi cum primum plantatum est.(vulgate) Job 14:9 so grünt er doch wieder vom Geruch des Wassers und wächst daher, als wäre er erst gepflanzt.(dhs) Job 14:9 Yet at the scent of water it will bud And bring forth branches like a plant.(nkjv) ======= Job 14:10 ============ Job 14:10 "But man dies and lies prostrate. Man expires, and where is he?(nasb) Job 14:10 ἀνὴρ δὲ τελευτήσας ᾤχετο πεσὼν δὲ βροτὸς οὐκέτι ἔστιν (lxx) Job 14:10 Homo vero cum mortuus fuerit, et nudatus, atque consumptus, ubi, quæso, est?(vulgate) Job 14:10 Aber der Mensch stirbt und ist dahin; er verscheidet, und wo ist er?(dhs) Job 14:10 But man dies and is laid away; Indeed he breathes his last And where is he?(nkjv) ======= Job 14:11 ============ Job 14:11 "As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,(nasb) Job 14:11 χρόνῳ γὰρ σπανίζεται θάλασσα ποταμὸς δὲ ἐρημωθεὶς ἐξηράνθη (lxx) Job 14:11 Quomodo si recedant aquæ de mari, et fluvius vacuefactus arescat:(vulgate) Job 14:11 Wie ein Wasser ausläuft aus dem See, und wie ein Strom versiegt und vertrocknet,(dhs) Job 14:11 As water disappears from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dries up,(nkjv) ======= Job 14:12 ============ Job 14:12 So man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no longer, He will not awake nor be aroused out of his sleep.(nasb) Job 14:12 ἄνθρωπος δὲ κοιμηθεὶς οὐ μὴ ἀναστῇ ἕως ἂν ὁ οὐρανὸς οὐ μὴ συρραφῇ καὶ οὐκ ἐξυπνισθήσονται ἐξ ὕπνου αὐτῶν (lxx) Job 14:12 sic homo, cum dormierit, non resurget: donec atteratur cælum, non evigilabit, nec consurget de somno suo.(vulgate) Job 14:12 so ist ein Mensch, wenn er sich legt, und wird nicht aufstehen und wird nicht aufwachen, solange der Himmel bleibt, noch von seinem Schlaf erweckt werden.(dhs) Job 14:12 So man lies down and does not rise.
