Show understanding and then we can talk.(nasb) Job 18:2 μέχρι τίνος οὐ παύσῃ ἐπίσχες ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ λαλήσωμεν (lxx) Job 18:2 [Usque ad quem finem verba jactabitis? intelligite prius, et sic loquamur.(vulgate) Job 18:2 Wann wollt ihr der Reden ein Ende machen? Merkt doch; darnach wollen wir reden.(dhs) Job 18:2 "How long till you put an end to words? Gain understanding, and afterward we will speak.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:3 ============ Job 18:3 "Why are we regarded as beasts, As stupid in your eyes?(nasb) Job 18:3 διὰ τί ὥσπερ τετράποδα σεσιωπήκαμεν ἐναντίον σου (lxx) Job 18:3 Quare reputati sumus ut jumenta, et sorduimus coram vobis?(vulgate) Job 18:3 Warum werden wir geachtet wie Vieh und sind so unrein vor euren Augen?(dhs) Job 18:3 Why are we counted as beasts, And regarded as stupid in your sight?(nkjv) ======= Job 18:4 ============ Job 18:4 "O you who tear yourself in your anger-- For your sake is the earth to be abandoned, Or the rock to be moved from its place?(nasb) Job 18:4 κέχρηταί σοι ὀργή τί γάρ ἐὰν σὺ ἀποθάνῃς ἀοίκητος ἡ ὑπ᾽ οὐρανόν ἢ καταστραφήσεται ὄρη ἐκ θεμελίων (lxx) Job 18:4 Qui perdis animam tuam in furore tuo, numquid propter te derelinquetur terra, et transferentur rupes de loco suo?(vulgate) Job 18:4 Willst du vor Zorn bersten? Meinst du, daß um deinetwillen die Erde verlassen werde und der Fels von seinem Ort versetzt werde?(dhs) Job 18:4 You who tear yourself in anger, Shall the earth be forsaken for you? Or shall the rock be removed from its place?(nkjv) ======= Job 18:5 ============ Job 18:5 "Indeed, the light of the wicked goes out, And the flame of his fire gives no light.(nasb) Job 18:5 καὶ φῶς ἀσεβῶν σβεσθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἀποβήσεται αὐτῶν ἡ φλόξ (lxx) Job 18:5 Nonne lux impii extinguetur, nec splendebit flamma ignis ejus?(vulgate) Job 18:5 Und doch wird das Licht der Gottlosen verlöschen, und der Funke seines Feuers wird nicht leuchten.(dhs) Job 18:5 "The light of the wicked indeed goes out, And the flame of his fire does not shine.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:6 ============ Job 18:6 "The light in his tent is darkened, And his lamp goes out above him.(nasb) Job 18:6 τὸ φῶς αὐτοῦ σκότος ἐν διαίτῃ ὁ δὲ λύχνος ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ σβεσθήσεται (lxx) Job 18:6 Lux obtenebrescet in tabernaculo illius, et lucerna quæ super eum est extinguetur.(vulgate) Job 18:6 Das Licht wird finster werden in seiner Hütte, und seine Leuchte über ihm verlöschen.(dhs) Job 18:6 The light is dark in his tent, And his lamp beside him is put out.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:7 ============ Job 18:7 "His vigorous stride is shortened, And his own scheme brings him down.(nasb) Job 18:7 θηρεύσαισαν ἐλάχιστοι τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ σφάλαι δὲ αὐτοῦ ἡ βουλή (lxx) Job 18:7 Arctabuntur gressus virtutis ejus, et præcipitabit eum consilium suum.(vulgate) Job 18:7 Seine kräftigen Schritte werden in die Enge kommen, und sein Anschlag wird ihn fällen.(dhs) Job 18:7 The steps of his strength are shortened, And his own counsel casts him down.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:8 ============ Job 18:8 "For he is thrown into the net by his own feet, And he steps on the webbing.(nasb) Job 18:8 ἐμβέβληται δὲ ὁ ποὺς αὐτοῦ ἐν παγίδι ἐν δικτύῳ ἑλιχθείη (lxx) Job 18:8 Immisit enim in rete pedes suos, et in maculis ejus ambulat.(vulgate) Job 18:8 Denn er ist mit seinen Füßen in den Strick gebracht und wandelt im Netz.(dhs) Job 18:8 For he is cast into a net by his own feet, And he walks into a snare.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:9 ============ Job 18:9 "A snare seizes him by the heel, And a trap snaps shut on him.(nasb) Job 18:9 ἔλθοισαν δὲ ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν παγίδες κατισχύσει ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν διψῶντας (lxx) Job 18:9 Tenebitur planta illius laqueo, et exardescet contra eum sitis.(vulgate) Job 18:9 Der Strick wird seine Ferse halten, und die Schlinge wird ihn erhaschen.(dhs) Job 18:9 The net takes him by the heel, And a snare lays hold of him.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:10 ============ Job 18:10 "A noose for him is hidden in the ground, And a trap for him on the path.(nasb) Job 18:10 κέκρυπται ἐν τῇ γῇ σχοινίον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ σύλλημψις αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τρίβων (lxx) Job 18:10 Abscondita est in terra pedica ejus, et decipula illius super semitam.(vulgate) Job 18:10 Sein Strick ist gelegt in die Erde, und seine Falle auf seinem Gang.(dhs) Job 18:10 A noose is hidden for him on the ground, And a trap for him in the road.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:11 ============ Job 18:11 "All around terrors frighten him, And harry him at every step.(nasb) Job 18:11 κύκλῳ ὀλέσαισαν αὐτὸν ὀδύναι πολλοὶ δὲ περὶ πόδας αὐτοῦ ἔλθοισαν ἐν λιμῷ στενῷ (lxx) Job 18:11 Undique terrebunt eum formidines, et involvent pedes ejus.(vulgate) Job 18:11 Um und um wird ihn schrecken plötzliche Furcht, daß er nicht weiß, wo er hinaus soll.(dhs) Job 18:11 Terrors frighten him on every side, And drive him to his feet.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:12 ============ Job 18:12 "His strength is famished, And calamity is ready at his side.(nasb) Job 18:12 πτῶμα δὲ αὐτῷ ἡτοίμασται ἐξαίσιον (lxx) Job 18:12 Attenuetur fame robur ejus, et inedia invadat costas illius.(vulgate) Job 18:12 Hunger wird seine Habe sein, und Unglück wird ihm bereit sein und anhangen.(dhs) Job 18:12 His strength is starved, And destruction is ready at his side.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:13 ============ Job 18:13 "His skin is devoured by disease, The firstborn of death devours his limbs.(nasb) Job 18:13 βρωθείησαν αὐτοῦ κλῶνες ποδῶν κατέδεται δὲ τὰ ὡραῖα αὐτοῦ θάνατος (lxx) Job 18:13 Devoret pulchritudinem cutis ejus; consumat brachia illius primogenita mors.(vulgate) Job 18:13 Die Glieder seines Leibes werden verzehrt werden; seine Glieder wird verzehren der Erstgeborene des Todes.(dhs) Job 18:13 It devours patches of his skin; The firstborn of death devours his limbs.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:14 ============ Job 18:14 "He is torn from the security of his tent, And they march him before the king of terrors.(nasb) Job 18:14 ἐκραγείη δὲ ἐκ διαίτης αὐτοῦ ἴασις σχοίη δὲ αὐτὸν ἀνάγκη αἰτίᾳ βασιλικῇ (lxx) Job 18:14 Avellatur de tabernaculo suo fiducia ejus, et calcet super eum, quasi rex, interitus.(vulgate) Job 18:14 Seine Hoffnung wird aus seiner Hütte ausgerottet werden, und es wird ihn treiben zum König des Schreckens.(dhs) Job 18:14 He is uprooted from the shelter of his tent, And they parade him before the king of terrors.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:15 ============ Job 18:15 "There dwells in his tent nothing of his; Brimstone is scattered on his habitation.(nasb) Job 18:15 κατασκηνώσει ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ αὐτοῦ ἐν νυκτὶ αὐτοῦ κατασπαρήσονται τὰ εὐπρεπῆ αὐτοῦ θείῳ (lxx) Job 18:15 Habitent in tabernaculo illius socii ejus qui non est; aspergatur in tabernaculo ejus sulphur.(vulgate) Job 18:15 In seiner Hütte wird nichts bleiben; über seine Stätte wird Schwefel gestreut werden.(dhs) Job 18:15 They dwell in his tent who are none of his; Brimstone is scattered on his dwelling.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:16 ============ Job 18:16 "His roots are dried below, And his branch is cut off above.(nasb) Job 18:16 ὑποκάτωθεν αἱ ῥίζαι αὐτοῦ ξηρανθήσονται καὶ ἐπάνωθεν ἐπιπεσεῖται θερισμὸς αὐτοῦ (lxx) Job 18:16 Deorsum radices ejus siccentur: sursum autem atteratur messis ejus.(vulgate) Job 18:16 Von unten werden verdorren seine Wurzeln, und von oben abgeschnitten seine Zweige.(dhs) Job 18:16 His roots are dried out below, And his branch withers above.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:17 ============ Job 18:17 "Memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name abroad.(nasb) Job 18:17 τὸ μνημόσυνον αὐτοῦ ἀπόλοιτο ἐκ γῆς καὶ ὑπάρχει ὄνομα αὐτῷ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐξωτέρω (lxx) Job 18:17 Memoria illius pereat de terra, et non celebretur nomen ejus in plateis.(vulgate) Job 18:17 Sein Gedächtnis wird vergehen in dem Lande, und er wird keinen Namen haben auf der Gasse.(dhs) Job 18:17 The memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name among the renowned.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:18 ============ Job 18:18 "He is driven from light into darkness, And chased from the inhabited world.(nasb) Job 18:18 ἀπώσειεν αὐτὸν ἐκ φωτὸς εἰς σκότος (lxx) Job 18:18 Expellet eum de luce in tenebras, et de orbe transferet eum.(vulgate) Job 18:18 Er wird vom Licht in die Finsternis vertrieben und vom Erdboden verstoßen werden.(dhs) Job 18:18 He is driven from light into darkness, And chased out of the world.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:19 ============ Job 18:19 "He has no offspring or posterity among his people, Nor any survivor where he sojourned.(nasb) Job 18:19 οὐκ ἔσται ἐπίγνωστος ἐν λαῷ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ σεσῳσμένος ἐν τῇ ὑπ᾽ οὐρανὸν ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ ἀλλ᾽ ἐν τοῖς αὐτοῦ ζήσονται ἕτεροι (lxx) Job 18:19 Non erit semen ejus, neque progenies in populo suo, nec ullæ reliquiæ in regionibus ejus.(vulgate) Job 18:19 Er wird keine Kinder haben und keine Enkel unter seinem Volk; es wird ihm keiner übrigbleiben in seinen Gütern.(dhs) Job 18:19 He has neither son nor posterity among his people, Nor any remaining in his dwellings.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:20 ============ Job 18:20 "Those in the west are appalled at his fate, And those in the east are seized with horror.(nasb) Job 18:20 ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἐστέναξαν ἔσχατοι πρώτους δὲ ἔσχεν θαῦμα (lxx) Job 18:20 In die ejus stupebunt novissimi, et primos invadet horror.(vulgate) Job 18:20 Die nach ihm kommen, werden sich über seinen Tag entsetzen; und die vor ihm sind, wird eine Furcht ankommen.(dhs) Job 18:20 Those in the west are astonished at his day, As those in the east are frightened.(nkjv) ======= Job 18:21 ============ Job 18:21 "Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, And this is the place of him who does not know God."(nasb) Job 18:21 οὗτοί εἰσιν οἶκοι ἀδίκων οὗτος δὲ ὁ τόπος τῶν μὴ εἰδότων τὸν κύριον (lxx) Job 18:21 Hæc sunt ergo tabernacula iniqui, et iste locus ejus qui ignorat Deum.](vulgate) Job 18:21 Das ist die Wohnung des Ungerechten;
