Today's Date: Job 28:28 And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.' suam, et dixit:(vulgate) Job 29:1 Und Hiob hob abermals an seine Sprüche und sprach:(dhs) Job 29:1 Job further continued his discourse, and said:(nkjv) ======= Job 29:2 ============ Job 29:2 "Oh that I were as in months gone by, As in the days when God watched over me;(nasb) Job 29:2 τίς ἄν με θείη κατὰ μῆνα ἔμπροσθεν ἡμερῶν ὧν με ὁ θεὸς ἐφύλαξεν (lxx) Job 29:2 [Quis mihi tribuat ut sim juxta menses pristinos, secundum dies quibus Deus custodiebat me?(vulgate) Job 29:2 O daß ich wäre wie in den vorigen Monden, in den Tagen, da mich Gott behütete;(dhs) Job 29:2 Oh, that I were as in months past, As in the days when God watched over me;(nkjv) ======= Job 29:3 ============ Job 29:3 When His lamp shone over my head, And by His light I walked through darkness;(nasb) Job 29:3 ὡς ὅτε ηὔγει ὁ λύχνος αὐτοῦ ὑπὲρ κεφαλῆς μου ὅτε τῷ φωτὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπορευόμην ἐν σκότει (lxx) Job 29:3 Quando splendebat lucerna ejus super caput meum, et ad lumen ejus ambulabam in tenebris:(vulgate) Job 29:3 da seine 29:4 ============ Job 29:4 As I was in the prime of my days, When the friendship of God was over my tent;(nasb) Job 29:4 ὅτε ἤμην ἐπιβρίθων ὁδοῖς ὅτε ὁ θεὸς ἐπισκοπὴν ἐποιεῖτο τοῦ οἴκου μου (lxx) Job 29:4 sicut fui in diebus adolescentiæ meæ, quando secreto Deus erat in tabernaculo meo:(vulgate) Job 29:4 wie war ich in der Reife meines Lebens, da Gottes Geheimnis über meiner Hütte war;(dhs) Job 29:4 Just as I was in the days of my prime, When the friendly counsel of God was over my tent;(nkjv) ======= Job 29:5 ============ Job 29:5 When the Almighty was yet with me, And my children were around me;(nasb) Job 29:5 ὅτε ἤμην ὑλώδης λίαν κύκλῳ δέ μου οἱ παῖδες (lxx) Job 29:5 quando erat Omnipotens mecum, et in circuitu meo pueri mei:(vulgate) Job 29:5 da der Allmächtige noch mit mir war und meine Kinder um mich her;(dhs) Job 29:5 When the Almighty was yet with me, When my children were around me;(nkjv) ======= Job 29:6 ============ Job 29:6 When my steps were bathed in butter, And the rock poured out for me streams of oil!(nasb) Job 29:6 ὅτε ἐχέοντό μου αἱ ὁδοὶ βουτύρῳ τὰ δὲ ὄρη μου ἐχέοντο γάλακτι (lxx) Job 29:6 quando lavabam pedes meos butyro, et petra fundebat mihi rivos olei:(vulgate) Job 29:6 da ich meine Tritte wusch in Butter und die Felsen mir Ölbäche gossen;(dhs) Job 29:6 When my steps were bathed with cream, And the rock poured out rivers of oil for me!(nkjv) δίφρος (lxx) Job 29:7 quando procedebam ad portam civitatis, et in platea parabant cathedram mihi.(vulgate) Job 29:7 da ich ausging zum Tor in der Stadt und mir ließ meinen Stuhl auf der Gasse old men arose and stood.(nasb) Job 29:8 ἰδόντες με νεανίσκοι ἐκρύβησαν πρεσβῦται δὲ πάντες ἔστησαν (lxx) Job 29:8 Videbant me juvenes, et abscondebantur: et senes assurgentes stabant.(vulgate) Job 29:9 "The princes stopped talking And put their hands on their mouths;(nasb) Job 29:9 ἁδροὶ δὲ ἐπαύσαντο λαλοῦντες δάκτυλον ἐπιθέντες ἐπὶ στόματι (lxx) Job 29:9 Principes cessabant loqui, et digitum superponebant ori suo.(vulgate) Job 29:9 da die Obersten aufhörten zu reden und legten ihre Hand auf ihren Mund;(dhs) Job 29:9 The princes refrained from talking, And put their hand on their mouth;(nkjv) ======= Job 29:10 ============ Job 29:10 The voice of the nobles was hushed, And their tongue stuck to their palate.(nasb) Job 29:10 οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες ἐμακάρισάν με καὶ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν τῷ λάρυγγι αὐτῶν ἐκολλήθη (lxx) Job 29:10 Vocem suam cohibebant duces, et lingua eorum gutturi suo adhærebat.(vulgate) Job 29:10 da die Stimme der Fürsten sich verkroch und ihre Zunge am Gaumen And when the eye saw, it gave witness of me,(nasb) Job 29:11 ὅτι οὖς ἤκουσεν καὶ ἐμακάρισέν με ὀφθαλμὸς δὲ ἰδών με ἐξέκλινεν (lxx) Job 29:11 Auris audiens beatificabat me, et oculus videns testimonium reddebat mihi:(vulgate) Job 29:11 Denn wessen Ohr mich hörte, der pries mich selig; und wessen Auge mich sah, der rühmte mich.(dhs) Job 29:11 When the ear heard, then it blessed me, And when the eye bow is renewed in my hand.'(nasb) Job 29:20 ἡ δόξα μου καινὴ μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ καὶ τὸ τόξον μου ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ πορεύσεται (lxx) Job 29:20 Gloria mea semper innovabitur, et arcus meus in manu mea instaurabitur.(vulgate) Job 29:20 Meine Herrlichkeit erneute sich immer an mir, und mein Bogen ward immer stärker in meiner Hand.(dhs) Job 29:20 My glory is fresh within me, And my bow is renewed in Job 29:21 Qui me audiebant, expectabant sententiam, et intenti tacebant ad consilium meum.(vulgate) Job 29:21 Sie hörten mir zu und schwiegen und warteten auf meinen Rat.(dhs) Job 29:21 "Men listened to me and waited, And kept silence for my counsel.(nkjv) ======= Job 29:22 ============ Job 29:22 "After my words they did not speak again, And my speech dropped on them.(nasb) Job 29:22 ἐπὶ δὲ τῷ ἐμῷ ῥήματι οὐ προσέθεντο περιχαρεῖς δὲ ἐγίνοντο ὁπόταν αὐτοῖς ἐλάλουν (lxx) Job 29:22 Verbis meis addere nihil audebant, et super illos stillabat eloquium meum.(vulgate) Job 29:22 Nach meinen Worten pluviam, et os suum aperiebant quasi ad imbrem serotinum.(vulgate) Job 29:23 Sie warteten auf mich wie auf den Regen und sperrten ihren Mund auf als nach dem Spätregen.(dhs) Job 29:23 They waited for in terram.(vulgate) Job 29:24 Wenn ich mit ihnen lachte, wurden sie nicht zu kühn darauf; und das Licht meines Angesichts machte mich nicht geringer.(dhs) Job 29:24 If I mocked at them, they did not eos, sedebam primus: cumque sederem quasi rex, circumstante exercitu, eram tamen mœrentium consolator.](vulgate) Job 29:25 Wenn ich zu ihrem Geschäft wollte kommen, so mußte ich obenan sitzen und
