Today's Date: ======= John 3:1 ============ Jn 3:1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;(nasb) Jn 3:1 ἦν δὲ ἄνθρωπος ἐκ τῶν φαρισαίων, νικόδημος ὄνομα αὐτῶ, ἄρχων τῶν ἰουδαίων·(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:1 Erat autem homo ex pharisæis, Nicodemus nomine, princeps Judæorum.(vulgate) Jn 3:1 Es war aber ein Mensch unter den Pharisäern mit Namen Nikodemus, ein Oberster unter den Juden.(dhs) Jn 3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.(nkjv) ======= John 3:2 ============ Jn 3:2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."(nasb) Jn 3:2 οὖτος ἦλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν νυκτὸς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ, ῥαββί, οἴδαμεν ὅτι ἀπὸ θεοῦ ἐλήλυθας διδάσκαλος· οὐδεὶς γὰρ δύναται ταῦτα τὰ σημεῖα ποιεῖν ἃ σὺ ποιεῖς, ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ ὁ θεὸς μετ᾽ αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:2 Hic venit ad Jesum nocte, et dixit ei: Rabbi, scimus quia a Deo venisti magister, nemo enim potest hæc signa facere, quæ tu facis, nisi fuerit Deus cum eo.(vulgate) Jn 3:2 Der kam zu Jesu bei der Nacht und sprach zu ihm: Meister, wir wissen, daß du bist ein Lehrer von Gott gekommen; denn niemand kann die Zeichen tun, die du tust, es sei denn Gott mit ihm.(dhs) Jn 3:2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."(nkjv) ======= John 3:3 ============ Jn 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."(nasb) Jn 3:3 ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ, ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω σοι, ἐὰν μή τις γεννηθῇ ἄνωθεν, οὐ δύναται ἰδεῖν τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:3 Respondit Jesus, et dixit ei: Amen, amen dico tibi, nisi quis renatus fuerit denuo, non potest videre regnum Dei.(vulgate) Jn 3:3 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Es sei denn, daß jemand von neuem geboren werde, so kann er das Reich Gottes nicht sehen.(dhs) Jn 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."(nkjv) ======= John 3:4 ============ Jn 3:4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?"(nasb) Jn 3:4 λέγει πρὸς αὐτὸν [ὁ] νικόδημος, πῶς δύναται ἄνθρωπος γεννηθῆναι γέρων ὤν; μὴ δύναται εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ δεύτερον εἰσελθεῖν καὶ γεννηθῆναι;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:4 Dicit ad eum Nicodemus: Quomodo potest homo nasci, cum sit senex? numquid potest in ventrem matris suæ iterato introire et renasci?(vulgate) Jn 3:4 Nikodemus spricht zu ihm: Wie kann ein Mensch geboren werden wenn er alt ist? Kann er auch wiederum in seiner Mutter Leib gehen und geboren werden?(dhs) Jn 3:4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."(nkjv) ======= John 3:9 ============ Jn 3:9 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can these things be?"(nasb) Jn 3:9 ἀπεκρίθη νικόδημος καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ, πῶς δύναται ταῦτα γενέσθαι;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:9 Respondit Nicodemus, et dixit ei: Quomodo possunt hæc fieri?(vulgate) Jn 3:9 Nikodemus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Wie mag solches zugehen?(dhs) Jn 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things be?"(nkjv) ======= John 3:10 ============ Jn 3:10 Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?(nasb) Jn 3:10 ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῶ, σὺ εἶ ὁ διδάσκαλος τοῦ ἰσραὴλ καὶ ταῦτα οὐ γινώσκεις;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:10 Respondit Jesus, et dixit ei: Tu es magister in Israël, et hæc ignoras?(vulgate) Jn 3:10 Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Bist du ein Meister in Israel und weißt das nicht?(dhs) Jn 3:10 Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?(nkjv) ======= John 3:11 ============ Jn 3:11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony.(nasb) Jn 3:11 ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω σοι ὅτι ὃ οἴδαμεν λαλοῦμεν καὶ ὃ ἑωράκαμεν μαρτυροῦμεν, καὶ τὴν μαρτυρίαν ἡμῶν οὐ λαμβάνετε.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:11 amen, amen dico tibi, quia quod scimus loquimur, et quod vidimus testamur, et testimonium nostrum non accipitis.(vulgate) Jn 3:11 Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage dir: Wir reden, was wir wissen, und zeugen, was wir gesehen haben; und ihr nehmt unser Zeugnis nicht an.(dhs) Jn 3:11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.(nkjv) ======= John 3:12 ============ Jn 3:12 If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?(nasb) Jn 3:12 εἰ τὰ ἐπίγεια εἶπον ὑμῖν καὶ οὐ πιστεύετε, πῶς ἐὰν εἴπω ὑμῖν τὰ ἐπουράνια πιστεύσετε;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:12 Si terrena dixi vobis, et non creditis: quomodo, si dixero vobis cælestia, credetis?(vulgate) Jn 3:12 Glaubet ihr nicht, wenn ich euch von irdischen Dingen sage, wie würdet ihr glauben, wenn ich euch von himmlischen Dingen sagen würde?(dhs) Jn 3:12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?(nkjv) ======= John 3:13 ============ Jn 3:13 No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.(nasb) Jn 3:13 καὶ οὐδεὶς ἀναβέβηκεν εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εἰ μὴ ὁ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβάς, ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:13 Et nemo ascendit in cælum, nisi qui descendit de cælo, Filius hominis, qui est in cælo.(vulgate) Jn 3:13 Und niemand fährt gen Himmel, denn der vom Himmel herniedergekommen ist, nämlich des Menschen Sohn, der im Himmel ist.(dhs) Jn 3:13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.(nkjv) ======= John 3:14 ============ Jn 3:14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;(nasb) Jn 3:14 καὶ καθὼς μωϊσῆς ὕψωσεν τὸν ὄφιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, οὕτως ὑψωθῆναι δεῖ τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου,(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:14 Et sicut Moyses exaltavit serpentem in deserto, ita exaltari oportet Filium hominis:(vulgate) Jn 3:14 Und wie Mose in der Wüste eine Schlange erhöht hat, also muß des Menschen Sohn erhöht werden,(dhs) Jn 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,(nkjv) ======= John 3:15 ============ Jn 3:15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.(nasb) Jn 3:15 ἵνα πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων ἐν αὐτῶ ἔχῃ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:15 ut omnis qui credit in ipsum, non pereat, sed habeat vitam æternam.(vulgate) Jn 3:15 auf das alle, die an ihn glauben, nicht verloren werden, sondern das ewige Leben haben.(dhs) Jn 3:15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.(nkjv) ======= John 3:16 ============ Jn 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.(nasb) Jn 3:16 οὕτως γὰρ ἠγάπησεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν κόσμον, ὥστε τὸν υἱὸν τὸν μονογενῆ ἔδωκεν, ἵνα πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων εἰς αὐτὸν μὴ ἀπόληται ἀλλ᾽ ἔχῃ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:16 Sic enim Deus dilexit mundum, ut Filium suum unigenitum daret: ut omnis qui credit in eum, non pereat, sed habeat vitam æternam.(vulgate) Jn 3:16 Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt, daß er seinen eingeborenen Sohn gab, auf daß alle, die an ihn glauben, nicht verloren werden, sondern das ewige Leben haben.(dhs) Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.(nkjv) ======= John 3:17 ============ Jn 3:17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.(nasb) Jn 3:17 οὐ γὰρ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν υἱὸν εἰς τὸν κόσμον ἵνα κρίνῃ τὸν κόσμον, ἀλλ᾽ ἵνα σωθῇ ὁ κόσμος δι᾽ αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:17 Non enim misit Deus Filium suum in mundum, ut judicet mundum, sed ut salvetur mundus per ipsum.(vulgate) Jn 3:17 Denn Gott hat seinen Sohn nicht gesandt in die Welt, daß er die Welt richte, sondern daß die Welt durch ihn selig werde.(dhs) Jn 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.(nkjv) ======= John 3:18 ============ Jn 3:18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.(nasb) Jn 3:18 ὁ πιστεύων εἰς αὐτὸν οὐ κρίνεται· ὁ δὲ μὴ πιστεύων ἤδη κέκριται, ὅτι μὴ πεπίστευκεν εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ μονογενοῦς υἱοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:18 Qui credit in eum, non judicatur; qui autem non credit, jam judicatus est: quia non credit in nomine unigeniti Filii Dei.(vulgate) Jn 3:18 Wer an ihn glaubt, der wird nicht gerichtet; wer aber nicht glaubt, der ist schon gerichtet, denn er glaubt nicht an den Namen des eingeborenen Sohnes Gottes.(dhs) Jn 3:18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.(nkjv) ======= John 3:19 ============ Jn 3:19 This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.(nasb) Jn 3:19 αὕτη δέ ἐστιν ἡ κρίσις, ὅτι τὸ φῶς ἐλήλυθεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον καὶ ἠγάπησαν οἱ ἄνθρωποι μᾶλλον τὸ σκότος ἢ τὸ φῶς, ἦν γὰρ αὐτῶν πονηρὰ τὰ ἔργα.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:19 Hoc est autem judicium: quia lux venit in mundum, et dilexerunt homines magis tenebras quam lucem: erant enim eorum mala opera.(vulgate) Jn 3:19 Das ist aber das Gericht, daß das Licht in die Welt gekommen ist, und die Menschen liebten die Finsternis mehr als das Licht; denn ihre Werke waren böse.(dhs) Jn 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.(nkjv) ======= John 3:20 ============ Jn 3:20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.(nasb) Jn 3:20 πᾶς γὰρ ὁ φαῦλα πράσσων μισεῖ τὸ φῶς καὶ οὐκ ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸ φῶς, ἵνα μὴ ἐλεγχθῇ τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ·(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:20 Omnis enim qui male agit, odit lucem, et non venit ad lucem, ut non arguantur opera ejus:(vulgate) Jn 3:20 Wer arges tut, der haßt das Licht und kommt nicht an das Licht, auf daß seine Werke nicht gestraft werden.(dhs) Jn 3:20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.(nkjv) ======= John 3:21 ============ Jn 3:21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."(nasb) Jn 3:21 ὁ δὲ ποιῶν τὴν ἀλήθειαν ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸ φῶς, ἵνα φανερωθῇ αὐτοῦ τὰ ἔργα ὅτι ἐν θεῶ ἐστιν εἰργασμένα.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:21 qui autem facit veritatem, venit ad lucem, ut manifestentur opera ejus, quia in Deo sunt facta.~(vulgate) Jn 3:21 Wer aber die Wahrheit tut, der kommt an das Licht, daß seine Werke offenbar werden; denn sie sind in Gott getan.(dhs) Jn 3:21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."(nkjv) ======= John 3:22 ============ Jn 3:22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He was spending time with them and baptizing.(nasb) Jn 3:22 μετὰ ταῦτα ἦλθεν ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἰουδαίαν γῆν, καὶ ἐκεῖ διέτριβεν μετ᾽ αὐτῶν καὶ ἐβάπτιζεν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:22 Post hæc venit Jesus et discipuli ejus in terram Judæam: et illic demorabatur cum eis, et baptizabat.(vulgate) Jn 3:22 Darnach kam Jesus und seine Jünger in das jüdische Land und hatte daselbst sein Wesen mit ihnen und taufte.(dhs) Jn 3:22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized.(nkjv) ======= John 3:23 ============ Jn 3:23 John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people were coming and were being baptized"(nasb) Jn 3:23 ἦν δὲ καὶ ὁ ἰωάννης βαπτίζων ἐν αἰνὼν ἐγγὺς τοῦ σαλείμ, ὅτι ὕδατα πολλὰ ἦν ἐκεῖ, καὶ παρεγίνοντο καὶ ἐβαπτίζοντο·(Nestle-Aland) Jn 3:23 Erat autem et Joannes baptizans, in Ænnon, juxta Salim: quia aquæ multæ erant illic, et veniebant et baptizabantur.(vulgate) Jn 3:23 Johannes aber taufte auch noch zu Enon, nahe bei Salim, denn es war viel Wasser daselbst; und sie kamen dahin und ließen sich taufen.(dhs) Jn 3:23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there.
