Today's Date: ======= John 7:1 ============ Jn 7:1 After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.(nasb) Jn 7:1 καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα περιεπάτει ὁ ἰησοῦς ἐν τῇ γαλιλαίᾳ· οὐ γὰρ ἤθελεν ἐν τῇ ἰουδαίᾳ περιπατεῖν, ὅτι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι ἀποκτεῖναι.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:1 Post hæc autem ambulabat Jesus in Galilæam: non enim volebat in Judæam ambulare, quia quærebant eum Judæi interficere.(vulgate) Jn 7:1 Darnach zog Jesus umher in Galiläa; denn er wollte nicht in Judäa umherziehen, darum daß ihm die Juden nach dem Leben stellten.(dhs) Jn 7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.(nkjv) ======= John 7:2 ============ Jn 7:2 Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near.(nasb) Jn 7:2 ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἰουδαίων ἡ σκηνοπηγία.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:2 Erat autem in proximo dies festus Judæorum, Scenopegia.(vulgate) Jn 7:2 Es war aber nahe der Juden Fest, die Laubhütten.(dhs) Jn 7:2 Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand.(nkjv) ======= John 7:3 ============ Jn 7:3 Therefore His brothers said to Him, "Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.(nasb) Jn 7:3 εἶπον οὗν πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ, μετάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὴν ἰουδαίαν, ἵνα καὶ οἱ μαθηταί σου θεωρήσουσιν σοῦ τὰ ἔργα ἃ ποιεῖς·(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:3 Dixerunt autem ad eum fratres ejus: Transi hinc, et vade in Judæam, ut et discipuli tui videant opera tua, quæ facis.(vulgate) Jn 7:3 Da sprachen seine Brüder zu ihm: Mache dich auf von dannen und gehe nach Judäa, auf daß auch deine Jünger sehen, die Werke die du tust.(dhs) Jn 7:3 His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.(nkjv) ======= John 7:4 ============ Jn 7:4 For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world."(nasb) Jn 7:4 οὐδεὶς γάρ τι ἐν κρυπτῶ ποιεῖ καὶ ζητεῖ αὐτὸς ἐν παρρησίᾳ εἶναι. εἰ ταῦτα ποιεῖς, φανέρωσον σεαυτὸν τῶ κόσμῳ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:4 Nemo quippe in occulto quid facit, et quærit ipse in palam esse: si hæc facis, manifesta teipsum mundo.(vulgate) Jn 7:4 Niemand tut etwas im Verborgenen und will doch frei offenbar sein. Tust du solches, so offenbare dich vor der Welt.(dhs) Jn 7:4 For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. Quidam enim dicebant: Quia bonus est. Alii autem dicebant: Non, sed seducit turbas.(vulgate) Jn 7:12 Und es war ein großes Gemurmel unter dem Volk. Etliche sprachen: Er ist fromm; die andern aber sprachen: Nein, er verführt das Volk.(dhs) Jn 7:12 And there was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, "He is good"; others said, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people."(nkjv) ======= John 7:13 ============ Jn 7:13 Yet no one was speaking openly of Him for fear of the Jews.(nasb) Jn 7:13 οὐδεὶς μέντοι παρρησίᾳ ἐλάλει περὶ αὐτοῦ διὰ τὸν φόβον τῶν ἰουδαίων.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:13 Nemo tamen palam loquebatur de illo propter metum Judæorum.~(vulgate) Jn 7:13 Niemand aber redete frei von ihm um der Furcht willen vor den Juden.(dhs) Jn 7:13 However, no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.(nkjv) ======= John 7:14 ============ Jn 7:14 But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach.(nasb) Jn 7:14 ἤδη δὲ τῆς ἑορτῆς μεσούσης ἀνέβη ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν καὶ ἐδίδασκεν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:14 Jam autem die festo mediante, ascendit Jesus in templum, et docebat.(vulgate) Jn 7:14 Aber mitten im Fest ging Jesus hinauf in den Tempel und lehrte.(dhs) Jn 7:14 Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.(nkjv) ======= John 7:15 ============ Jn 7:15 The Jews then were astonished, saying, "How has this man become learned, having never been educated?"(nasb) Jn 7:15 ἐθαύμαζον οὗν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι λέγοντες, πῶς οὖτος γράμματα οἶδεν μὴ μεμαθηκώς;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:15 Et mirabantur Judæi, dicentes: Quomodo hic litteras scit, cum non didicerit?(vulgate) Jn 7:15 Und die Juden verwunderten sich und sprachen: Wie kann dieser die Schrift, so er sie doch nicht gelernt hat?(dhs) Jn 7:15 And the Jews marveled, saying, "How does this Man know letters, having never studied?"(nkjv) ======= John 7:16 ============ Jn 7:16 So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.(nasb) Jn 7:16 ἀπεκρίθη οὗν αὐτοῖς [ὁ] ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν, ἡ ἐμὴ διδαχὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὴ ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με·(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:16 Respondit eis Jesus, et dixit: Mea doctrina non est mea, sed ejus qui misit me.(vulgate) Jn 7:16 Jesus antwortete ihnen und sprach: Meine Lehre ist nicht mein, sondern des, der mich gesandt hat.(dhs) Jn 7:16 Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.(nkjv) ======= John 7:17 ============ Jn 7:17 If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.(nasb) Jn 7:17 ἐάν τις θέλῃ τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ ποιεῖν, γνώσεται περὶ τῆς διδαχῆς πότερον ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν ἢ ἐγὼ ἀπ᾽ ἐμαυτοῦ λαλῶ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:17 Si quis voluerit voluntatem ejus facere, cognoscet de doctrina, utrum ex Deo sit, an ego a meipso loquar.(vulgate) Jn 7:17 So jemand will des Willen tun, der wird innewerden, ob diese Lehre von Gott sei, oder ob ich von mir selbst rede.(dhs) Jn 7:17 If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.(nkjv) ======= John 7:18 ============ Jn 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.(nasb) Jn 7:18 ὁ ἀφ᾽ ἑαυτοῦ λαλῶν τὴν δόξαν τὴν ἰδίαν ζητεῖ· ὁ δὲ ζητῶν τὴν δόξαν τοῦ πέμψαντος αὐτόν, οὖτος ἀληθής ἐστιν καὶ ἀδικία ἐν αὐτῶ οὐκ ἔστιν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:18 Qui a semetipso loquitur, gloriam propriam quærit; qui autem quærit gloriam ejus qui misit eum, hic verax est, et injustitia in illo non est.(vulgate) Jn 7:18 Wer von sich selbst redet, der sucht seine eigene Ehre; wer aber sucht die Ehre des, der ihn gesandt hat, der ist wahrhaftig, und ist keine Ungerechtigkeit an ihm.(dhs) Jn 7:18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.(nkjv) ======= John 7:19 ============ Jn 7:19 "Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?"(nasb) Jn 7:19 οὐ μωϊσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὸν νόμον; καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ποιεῖ τὸν νόμον. τί με ζητεῖτε ἀποκτεῖναι;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:19 Nonne Moyses dedit vobis legem: et nemo ex vobis facit legem?(vulgate) Jn 7:19 Hat euch nicht Mose das Gesetz gegeben? und niemand unter euch tut das Gesetz. Warum sucht ihr mich zu töten?(dhs) Jn 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?"(nkjv) ======= John 7:20 ============ Jn 7:20 The crowd answered, "You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?"(nasb) Jn 7:20 ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ὄχλος, δαιμόνιον ἔχεις· τίς σε ζητεῖ ἀποκτεῖναι;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:20 Quid me quæritis interficere? Respondit turba, et dixit: Dæmonium habes: quis te quæret interficere?(vulgate) Jn 7:20 Das Volk antwortete und sprach: Du hast den Teufel; wer versucht dich zu töten?(dhs) Jn 7:20 The people answered and said, "You have a demon. Who is seeking to kill You?"(nkjv) ======= John 7:21 ============ Jn 7:21 Jesus answered them, "I did one deed, and you all marvel.(nasb) Jn 7:21 ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ἓν ἔργον ἐποίησα καὶ πάντες θαυμάζετε.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:21 Respondit Jesus et dixit eis: Unum opus feci, et omnes miramini:(vulgate) Jn 7:21 Jesus antwortete und sprach: Ein einziges Werk habe ich getan, und es wundert euch alle.(dhs) Jn 7:21 Jesus answered and said to them, "I did one work, and you all marvel.(nkjv) ======= John 7:22 ============ Jn 7:22 For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.(nasb) Jn 7:22 διὰ τοῦτο μωϊσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν περιτομήν _ οὐχ ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ μωϊσέως ἐστὶν ἀλλ᾽ ἐκ τῶν πατέρων _ καὶ ἐν σαββάτῳ περιτέμνετε ἄνθρωπον.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:22 propterea Moyses dedit vobis circumcisionem (non quia ex Moyse est, sed ex patribus), et in sabbato circumciditis hominem.(vulgate) Jn 7:22 Mose hat euch darum gegeben die Beschneidung, nicht daß sie von Mose kommt, sondern von den Vätern, und ihr beschneidet den Menschen am Sabbat.(dhs) Jn 7:22 Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.(nkjv) ======= John 7:23 ============ Jn 7:23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath?(nasb) Jn 7:23 εἰ περιτομὴν λαμβάνει ἄνθρωπος ἐν σαββάτῳ ἵνα μὴ λυθῇ ὁ νόμος μωϊσέως, ἐμοὶ χολᾶτε ὅτι ὅλον ἄνθρωπον ὑγιῆ ἐποίησα ἐν σαββάτῳ;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:23 Si circumcisionem accipit homo in sabbato, ut non solvatur lex Moysi: mihi indignamini quia totum hominem sanum feci in sabbato?(vulgate) Jn 7:23 So ein Mensch die Beschneidung annimmt am Sabbat, auf daß nicht das Gesetz Mose's gebrochen werde, zürnet ihr denn über mich, daß ich den ganzen Menschen habe am Sabbat gesund gemacht?(dhs) Jn 7:23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?(nkjv) ======= John 7:24 ============ Jn 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."(nasb) Jn 7:24 μὴ κρίνετε κατ᾽ ὄψιν, ἀλλὰ τὴν δικαίαν κρίσιν κρίνετε.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:24 Nolite judicare secundum faciem, sed justum judicium judicate.~(vulgate) Jn 7:24 Richtet nicht nach dem Ansehen, sondern richtet ein rechtes Gericht.(dhs) Jn 7:24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."(nkjv) ======= John 7:25 ============ Jn 7:25 So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, "Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill?(nasb) Jn 7:25 ἔλεγον οὗν τινες ἐκ τῶν ἱεροσολυμιτῶν, οὐχ οὖτός ἐστιν ὃν ζητοῦσιν ἀποκτεῖναι;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:25 Dicebant ergo quidam ex Jerosolymis: Nonne hic est, quem quærunt interficere?(vulgate) Jn 7:25 Da sprachen etliche aus Jerusalem: Ist das nicht der, den sie suchten zu töten?(dhs) Jn 7:25 Now some of them from Jerusalem said, "Is this not He whom they seek to kill?(nkjv) ======= John 7:26 ============ Jn 7:26 Look, He is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to Him. The rulers do not really know that this is the Christ, do they?(nasb) Jn 7:26 καὶ ἴδε παρρησίᾳ λαλεῖ καὶ οὐδὲν αὐτῶ λέγουσιν. μήποτε ἀληθῶς ἔγνωσαν οἱ ἄρχοντες ὅτι οὖτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 7:26 et ecce palam loquitur, et nihil ei dicunt. Numquid vere cognoverunt principes quia hic est Christus?(vulgate) Jn 7:26 Und siehe zu, er redet frei, und sie sagen nichts. Erkennen unsere Obersten nun gewiß, daß er gewiß Christus sei?(dhs) Jn 7:26 But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him.
