Today's Date: ======= John 6:1 ============ Jn 6:1 After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (or Tiberias).(nasb) Jn 6:1 μετὰ ταῦτα ἀπῆλθεν ὁ ἰησοῦς πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς γαλιλαίας τῆς τιβεριάδος.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:1 Post hæc abiit Jesus trans mare Galilææ, quod est Tiberiadis:(vulgate) Jn 6:1 Darnach fuhr Jesus weg über das Meer an der Stadt Tiberias in Galiläa.(dhs) Jn 6:1 After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.(nkjv) ======= John 6:2 ============ Jn 6:2 A large crowd followed Him, because they saw the signs which He was performing on those who were sick.(nasb) Jn 6:2 ἠκολούθει δὲ αὐτῶ ὄχλος πολύς, ὅτι ἐθεώρουν τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐποίει ἐπὶ τῶν ἀσθενούντων.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:2 et sequebatur eum multitudo magna, quia videbant signa quæ faciebat super his qui infirmabantur.(vulgate) Jn 6:2 Und es zog ihm viel Volks nach, darum daß sie die Zeichen sahen, die er an den Kranken tat.(dhs) Jn 6:2 Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.(nkjv) ======= John 6:3 ============ Jn 6:3 Then Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat down with His disciples.(nasb) Jn 6:3 ἀνῆλθεν δὲ εἰς τὸ ὄρος ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἐκεῖ ἐκάθητο μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:3 Subiit ergo in montem Jesus et ibi sedebat cum discipulis suis.(vulgate) Jn 6:3 Jesus aber ging hinauf auf einen Berg und setzte sich daselbst mit seinen Jüngern.(dhs) Jn 6:3 And Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.(nkjv) ======= John 6:4 ============ Jn 6:4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.(nasb) Jn 6:4 ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς τὸ πάσχα, ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἰουδαίων.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:4 Erat autem proximum Pascha dies festus Judæorum.(vulgate) Jn 6:4 Es war aber nahe Ostern, der Juden Fest.(dhs) Jn 6:4 Now the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was near.(nkjv) ======= John 6:5 ============ Jn 6:5 Therefore Jesus, lifting up His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him, said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?"(nasb) Jn 6:5 ἐπάρας οὗν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ θεασάμενος ὅτι πολὺς ὄχλος ἔρχεται πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγει πρὸς φίλιππον, πόθεν ἀγοράσωμεν ἄρτους ἵνα φάγωσιν οὖτοι;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:5 Cum sublevasset ergo oculos Jesus, et vidisset quia multitudo maxima venit ad eum, dixit ad Philippum: Unde ememus panes, ut manducent hi?(vulgate) Jn 6:5 Da hob Jesus seine Augen auf und sieht, daß viel Volks zu ihm kommt, und spricht zu Philippus: Wo kaufen wir Brot, daß diese essen?(dhs) Jn 6:5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"(nkjv) ======= John 6:6 ============ Jn 6:6 This He was saying to test him, for He Himself knew what He was intending to do.(nasb) Jn 6:6 τοῦτο δὲ ἔλεγεν πειράζων αὐτόν, αὐτὸς γὰρ ᾔδει τί ἔμελλεν ποιεῖν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:6 Hoc autem dicebat tentans eum: ipse enim sciebat quid esset facturus.(vulgate) Jn 6:6 (Das sagte er aber, ihn zu versuchen; Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.(nasb) Jn 6:10 εἶπεν ὁ ἰησοῦς, ποιήσατε τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἀναπεσεῖν. ἦν δὲ χόρτος πολὺς ἐν τῶ τόπῳ. ἀνέπεσαν οὗν οἱ ἄνδρες τὸν ἀριθμὸν ὡς πεντακισχίλιοι.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:10 Dixit ergo Jesus: Facite homines discumbere. Erat autem fœnum multum in loco. Discumberunt ergo viri, numero quasi quinque millia.(vulgate) Jn 6:10 Jesus aber sprach: Schaffet, daß sich das Volk lagert. Es war aber viel Gras an dem Ort. Da lagerten sich bei fünftausend Mann.(dhs) Jn 6:10 Then Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.(nkjv) ======= John 6:11 ============ Jn 6:11 Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated; likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted.(nasb) Jn 6:11 ἔλαβεν οὗν τοὺς ἄρτους ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ εὐχαριστήσας διέδωκεν τοῖς ἀνακειμένοις, ὁμοίως καὶ ἐκ τῶν ὀψαρίων ὅσον ἤθελον.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:11 Accepit ergo Jesus panes: et cum gratias egisset, distribuit discumbentibus: similiter et ex piscibus quantum volebant.(vulgate) Jn 6:11 Jesus aber nahm die Brote, dankte und gab sie den Jüngern, die Jünger aber denen, die sich gelagert hatten; desgleichen auch von den Fischen, wieviel sie wollten.(dhs) Jn 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.(nkjv) ======= John 6:12 ============ Jn 6:12 When they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost."(nasb) Jn 6:12 ὡς δὲ ἐνεπλήσθησαν λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, συναγάγετε τὰ περισσεύσαντα κλάσματα, ἵνα μή τι ἀπόληται.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:12 Ut autem impleti sunt, dixit discipulis suis: Colligite quæ superaverunt fragmenta, ne pereant.(vulgate) Jn 6:12 Da sie aber satt waren, sprach er zu seinen Jüngern: Sammelt die übrigen Brocken, daß nichts umkommt.(dhs) Jn 6:12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost."(nkjv) ======= John 6:13 ============ Jn 6:13 So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.(nasb) Jn 6:13 συνήγαγον οὗν, καὶ ἐγέμισαν δώδεκα κοφίνους κλασμάτων ἐκ τῶν πέντε ἄρτων τῶν κριθίνων ἃ ἐπερίσσευσαν τοῖς βεβρωκόσιν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:13 Collegerunt ergo, et impleverunt duodecim cophinos fragmentorum ex quinque panibus hordeaceis, quæ superfuerunt his qui manducaverant.(vulgate) Jn 6:13 Da sammelten sie und füllten zwölf Körbe mit Brocken von den fünf Gerstenbroten, die übrig blieben denen, die gespeist worden.(dhs) Jn 6:13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.(nkjv) ======= John 6:14 ============ Jn 6:14 Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."(nasb) Jn 6:14 οἱ οὗν ἄνθρωποι ἰδόντες ὃ ἐποίησεν σημεῖον ἔλεγον ὅτι οὖτός ἐστιν ἀληθῶς ὁ προφήτης ὁ ἐρχόμενος εἰς τὸν κόσμον.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:14 Illi ergo homines cum vidissent quod Jesus fecerat signum, dicebant: Quia hic est vere propheta, qui venturus est in mundum.(vulgate) Jn 6:14 Da nun die Menschen das Zeichen sahen, das Jesus tat, sprachen sie: Das ist wahrlich der Prophet, der in die Welt kommen soll.(dhs) Jn 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."(nkjv) ======= John 6:15 ============ Jn 6:15 So Jesus, perceiving that they were intending to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone.(nasb) Jn 6:15 ἰησοῦς οὗν γνοὺς ὅτι μέλλουσιν ἔρχεσθαι καὶ ἁρπάζειν αὐτὸν ἵνα ποιήσωσιν βασιλέα ἀνεχώρησεν πάλιν εἰς τὸ ὄρος αὐτὸς μόνος.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:15 Jesus ergo cum cognovisset quia venturi essent ut raperent eum, et facerent eum regem, fugit iterum in montem ipse solus.~(vulgate) Jn 6:15 Da Jesus nun merkte, daß sie kommen würden und ihn haschen, daß sie ihn zum König machten, entwich er abermals auf den Berg, er selbst allein.(dhs) Jn 6:15 Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone.(nkjv) ======= John 6:16 ============ Jn 6:16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,(nasb) Jn 6:16 ὡς δὲ ὀψία ἐγένετο κατέβησαν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν,(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:16 Ut autem sero factum est, descenderunt discipuli ejus ad mare.(vulgate) Jn 6:16 Am Abend aber gingen die Jünger hinab an das Meer(dhs) Jn 6:16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,(nkjv) ======= John 6:17 ============ Jn 6:17 and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.(nasb) Jn 6:17 καὶ ἐμβάντες εἰς πλοῖον ἤρχοντο πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἰς καφαρναούμ. καὶ σκοτία ἤδη ἐγεγόνει καὶ οὔπω ἐληλύθει πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὁ ἰησοῦς,(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:17 Et cum ascendissent navim, venerunt trans mare in Capharnaum: et tenebræ jam factæ erant et non venerat ad eos Jesus.(vulgate) Jn 6:17 und traten in das Schiff und kamen über das Meer gen Kapernaum. Und es war schon finster geworden, und Jesus war nicht zu ihnen gekommen.(dhs) Jn 6:17 got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them.(nkjv) ======= John 6:18 ============ Jn 6:18 The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.(nasb) Jn 6:18 ἥ τε θάλασσα ἀνέμου μεγάλου πνέοντος διεγείρετο.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:18 Mare autem, vento magno flante, exsurgebat.(vulgate) Jn 6:18 Und das Meer erhob sich von einem großen Winde.(dhs) Jn 6:18 Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing.(nkjv) ======= John 6:19 ============ Jn 6:19 Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened.(nasb) Jn 6:19 ἐληλακότες οὗν ὡς σταδίους εἴκοσι πέντε ἢ τριάκοντα θεωροῦσιν τὸν ἰησοῦν περιπατοῦντα ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐγγὺς τοῦ πλοίου γινόμενον, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:19 Cum remigassent ergo quasi stadia viginti quinque aut triginta, vident Jesum ambulantem supra mare, et proximum navi fieri, et timuerunt.(vulgate) Jn 6:19 Da sie nun gerudert hatten bei fünfundzwanzig oder dreißig Feld Wegs, sahen sie Jesum auf dem Meere dahergehen und nahe zum Schiff kommen; und sie fürchteten sich.(dhs) Jn 6:19 So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.(nkjv) ======= John 6:20 ============ Jn 6:20 But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."(nasb) Jn 6:20 ὁ δὲ λέγει αὐτοῖς, ἐγώ εἰμι, μὴ φοβεῖσθε.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:20 Ille autem dicit eis: Ego sum, nolite timere.(vulgate) Jn 6:20 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Ich bin's; fürchtet euch nicht!(dhs) Jn 6:20 But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."(nkjv) ======= John 6:21 ============ Jn 6:21 So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.(nasb) Jn 6:21 ἤθελον οὗν λαβεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ πλοῖον, καὶ εὐθέως ἐγένετο τὸ πλοῖον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ὑπῆγον.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:21 Voluerunt ergo accipere eum in navim et statim navis fuit ad terram, in quam ibant.(vulgate) Jn 6:21 Da wollten sie ihn in das Schiff nehmen; und alsbald war das Schiff am Lande, da sie hin fuhren.(dhs) Jn 6:21 Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.(nkjv) ======= John 6:22 ============ Jn 6:22 The next day the crowd that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other small boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone.(nasb) Jn 6:22 τῇ ἐπαύριον ὁ ὄχλος ὁ ἑστηκὼς πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἶδον ὅτι πλοιάριον ἄλλο οὐκ ἦν ἐκεῖ εἰ μὴ ἕν, καὶ ὅτι οὐ συνεισῆλθεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὁ ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ πλοῖον ἀλλὰ μόνοι οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπῆλθον·(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:22 Altera die, turba, quæ stabat trans mare, vidit quia navicula alia non erat ibi nisi una, et quia non introisset cum discipulis suis Jesus in navim, sed soli discipuli ejus abiissent:(vulgate) Jn 6:22 Des anderen Tages sah das Volk, das diesseit des Meeres stand, daß kein anderes Schiff daselbst war denn das eine, darin seine Jünger getreten waren, und daß Jesus nicht mit seinen Jüngern in das Schiff getreten war, sondern allein seine Jünger waren weggefahren.(dhs) Jn 6:22 On the following day, when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone away alone--(nkjv) ======= John 6:23 ============ Jn 6:23 There came other small boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.(nasb) Jn 6:23 ἄλλα ἦλθεν πλοι[άρι]α ἐκ τιβεριάδος ἐγγὺς τοῦ τόπου ὅπου ἔφαγον τὸν ἄρτον εὐχαριστήσαντος τοῦ κυρίου.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:23 aliæ vero supervenerunt naves a Tiberiade juxta locum ubi manducaverunt panem, gratias agente Domino.(vulgate) Jn 6:23 Es kamen aber andere Schiffe von Tiberias nahe zur Stätte, da sie das Brot gegessen hatten durch des HERRN Danksagung.(dhs) Jn 6:23 however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks--(nkjv) ======= John 6:24 ============ Jn 6:24 So when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus.(nasb) Jn 6:24 ὅτε οὗν εἶδεν ὁ ὄχλος ὅτι ἰησοῦς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκεῖ οὐδὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, ἐνέβησαν αὐτοὶ εἰς τὰ πλοιάρια καὶ ἦλθον εἰς καφαρναοὺμ ζητοῦντες τὸν ἰησοῦν.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:24 Cum ergo vidisset turba quia Jesus non esset ibi, neque discipuli ejus, ascenderunt in naviculas, et venerunt Capharnaum quærentes Jesum.~(vulgate) Jn 6:24 Da nun das Volk sah, daß Jesus nicht da war noch seine Jünger, traten sie auch in Schiffe und kamen gen Kapernaum und suchten Jesum.(dhs) Jn 6:24 when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.(nkjv) ======= John 6:25 ============ Jn 6:25 When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You get here?"(nasb) Jn 6:25 καὶ εὑρόντες αὐτὸν πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἶπον αὐτῶ, ῥαββί, πότε ὧδε γέγονας;(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:25 Et cum invenissent eum trans mare, dixerunt ei: Rabbi, quando huc venisti?(vulgate) Jn 6:25 Und da sie ihn fanden jenseit des Meeres, sprachen sie zu ihm: Rabbi, wann bist du hergekommen?(dhs) Jn 6:25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here?"(nkjv) ======= John 6:26 ============ Jn 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.(nasb) Jn 6:26 ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν, ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ζητεῖτέ με οὐχ ὅτι εἴδετε σημεῖα ἀλλ᾽ ὅτι ἐφάγετε ἐκ τῶν ἄρτων καὶ ἐχορτάσθητε.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:26 Respondit eis Jesus, et dixit: Amen, amen dico vobis: quæritis me non quia vidistis signa, sed quia manducastis ex panibus et saturati estis.(vulgate) Jn 6:26 Jesus antwortete ihnen und sprach: Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr suchet mich nicht darum, daß ihr Zeichen gesehen habt, sondern daß ihr von dem Brot gegessen habt und seid satt geworden.(dhs) Jn 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.(nkjv) ======= John 6:27 ============ Jn 6:27 Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."(nasb) Jn 6:27 ἐργάζεσθε μὴ τὴν βρῶσιν τὴν ἀπολλυμένην ἀλλὰ τὴν βρῶσιν τὴν μένουσαν εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον, ἣν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑμῖν δώσει· τοῦτον γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἐσφράγισεν ὁ θεός.(Nestle-Aland) Jn 6:27 Operamini non cibum, qui perit, sed qui permanet in vitam æternam, quem Filius hominis dabit vobis.
