Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?(nasb) Rom 6:1 τί οὗν ἐροῦμεν; ἐπιμένωμεν τῇ ἁμαρτίᾳ, ἵνα ἡ χάρις πλεονάσῃ;(Nestle-Aland) Rom 6:1 Quid ergo dicemus? permanebimus in peccato ut gratia abundet?(vulgate) Rom 6:1 Was wollen wir hierzu sagen? Sollen wir denn in der Sünde beharren, auf daß die Gnade desto mächtiger werde?(dhs) Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?(nkjv) ======= Romans 6:2 ============ Rom 6:2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?(nasb) Rom 6:2 μὴ γένοιτο· οἵτινες ἀπεθάνομεν τῇ ἁμαρτίᾳ, πῶς ἔτι ζήσομεν ἐν αὐτῇ;(Nestle-Aland) Rom 6:2 Absit. Qui enim mortui sumus peccato, quomodo adhuc vivemus in illo?(vulgate) Rom 6:2 Das sei ferne! Wie sollten wir in der Sünde wollen leben, der wir abgestorben sind?(dhs) Rom 6:2 Certainly not! Certainly not!(nkjv) ======= Romans 6:16 ============ Rom 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?(nasb) Rom 6:16 οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι ᾧ παριστάνετε ἑαυτοὺς δούλους εἰς ὑπακοήν, δοῦλοί ἐστε ᾧ ὑπακούετε, ἤτοι ἁμαρτίας εἰς θάνατον ἢ ὑπακοῆς εἰς δικαιοσύνην;(Nestle-Aland) Rom 6:16 Nescitis quoniam cui exhibetis vos servos ad obediendum, servi estis ejus, cui obeditis, sive peccati ad mortem, sive obeditionis ad justitiam?(vulgate) Rom 6:16 Wisset ihr nicht: welchem ihr euch begebet zu Knechten in Gehorsam, des Knechte seid ihr, dem ihr gehorsam seid, es sei der Sünde zum Tode oder dem Gehorsam zur Gerechtigkeit?(dhs) Rom 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?(nkjv) ======= Romans 6:17 ============ Rom 6:17 But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,(nasb) Rom 6:17 χάρις δὲ τῶ θεῶ ὅτι ἦτε δοῦλοι τῆς ἁμαρτίας ὑπηκούσατε δὲ ἐκ καρδίας εἰς ὃν παρεδόθητε τύπον διδαχῆς,(Nestle-Aland) Rom 6:17 Gratias autem Deo quod fuistis servi peccati, obedistis autem ex corde in eam formam doctrinæ, in quam traditi estis.(vulgate) Rom 6:17 Gott sei aber gedankt, daß ihr Knechte der Sünde gewesen seid, aber nun gehorsam geworden von Herzen dem Vorbilde der Lehre, welchem ihr ergeben seid.(dhs) Rom 6:17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.(nkjv) ======= Romans 6:18 ============ Rom 6:18 and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.(nasb) Rom 6:18 ἐλευθερωθέντες δὲ ἀπὸ τῆς ἁμαρτίας ἐδουλώθητε τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ·(Nestle-Aland) Rom 6:18 Liberati autem a peccato, servi facti estis justitiæ.(vulgate) Rom 6:18 Denn nun ihr frei geworden seid von der Sünde, seid ihr Knechte der Gerechtigkeit geworden.(dhs) Rom 6:18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.(nkjv) ======= Romans 6:19 ============ Rom 6:19 I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.(nasb) Rom 6:19 ἀνθρώπινον λέγω διὰ τὴν ἀσθένειαν τῆς σαρκὸς ὑμῶν. ὥσπερ γὰρ παρεστήσατε τὰ μέλη ὑμῶν δοῦλα τῇ ἀκαθαρσίᾳ καὶ τῇ ἀνομίᾳ εἰς τὴν ἀνομίαν, οὕτως νῦν παραστήσατε τὰ μέλη ὑμῶν δοῦλα τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ εἰς ἁγιασμόν.(Nestle-Aland) Rom 6:19 Humanum dico, propter infirmitatem carnis vestræ: sicut enim exhibuistis membra vestra servire immunditiæ, et iniquitati ad iniquitatem, ita nunc exhibete membra vestra servire justitiæ in sanctificationem.(vulgate) Rom 6:19 Ich muß menschlich davon reden um der Schwachheit willen eures Fleisches.
